I don't often give a 5 star review but this has to be our favourite restaurant! Breakfasts are lovely and lunches and dinners are always exceptional. I have been dining in Frenchie's for decades and I can honestly say I have never had a poor experience. It's so good I even drove my staff 20 miles to have our Christmas lunch here! Oh and very reasonably priced too!!!

Spotless very high standards, Staff are Welcoming and polite and the Food is fresh. They also do carry out meals so just call them up and arrange to pick up your food.

We just love to stop here for tea and scones or traybakes. Staff are pleasant, efficient and friendly. It’s well run and a lovely place to eat in.

Roy and Diane were fantastic in helping us organise breakfast for everyone on the day of our daughter's wedding. The food was great and their service was fantastic. I don't write many reviews, but these guys were brilliant!

French's is a great local spot for a bite to eat we were here for a birthday party with quite a large group and they were very accommodating, we pre ordered our food so there was no big wait on being served their chowder as well as everything else is delicious and the staff were top notch 😋

Simple delicious, anniversary celebration lunch, chowder and scampi our firm favourites both excellent.

I don’t usually give reviews (bad or good) as I believe places can have there good and bad days. However on this occasion I feel like the restaurant really deserves a good word. Due to the restaurant's location I drive past it quite frequently and have always said that we must try there as it is always packed out. Well we eventually got round to trying it out on Wednesday morning for breakfast en route to the sheepdog trials and wow did it impress. To start with the staff that greet us and showed us to our table we’re as friendly as anything also very neat and tidy. After browsing through the menu we settled on the full breakfast and the avacados and eggs. The pricing of these items were quite cheap therefor I didn’t expect much but when the food arrived I was shocked to say the least. The portions were incredible and the food was delicious. This alone was enough to make me consider writing a review but we said that we would come back on Sunday and try the dinner menu out so I said I would wait and see what it’s like before putting up a review. Well Sunday came and we arrived 20 minutes early however this was not an issue. We were seated by the same lady and we had our food by the time we were supposed to arrive. Again it was the same story really friendly staff and really REALLY great food. All I can say is that we will definitely be back again soon as it was the nicest meal out we have had in a very long time. The chefs must definitely love what they do.

My husband and I were invited to join a couple of our friends last Saturday at Frenchs, Clough. We arrived on time and we’re allocated a booth to the right side as we entered. Service was prompt and efficient - we ordered our drinks and chose from the menu. 2 no.. fish, chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce. Another ordered the 6 ounce stake with onion rings on the side, and the 4th guest decided upon the Hawaiian burger. The food arrived hot and perfectly displayed our on the plates. Efficient and pleasant staff all well turned out We had fully intended to have a dessert, but when the time came, although we were eager to try the options, we declined. Our main course had more than satisfied our hunger, and we each agreed that the portions received were just right for us! If we were to have any more, the chances are that we may in fact ruin our meal experience. 3 coffees and a tea later, we asked for the bill…… it’s my understanding we owed £99.00 ….. a fair price for a tasty gin and apple cocktail, a West Coast Cooler, 2 pints and a whiskey wouldn’t you agree! This was our 1st visit to this establishment and we would thoroughly recommend it to others. The layout of the restaurant is open and can adapt easily to cater for large parties. The banquettes or rather the fixed seating area along the side walls created space-saving, cosy, intimate seating booths and due to the professional and welcoming staff we enjoyed our privacy ...a great experience, good food, great service at an affordable price. Good first impression - the entrance was clean well lit with outdoor seating and car parking on site. Thank you French’s - we will be back (reservations recommended).

The staff are very welcoming and the service is good . The food is excellent . I love having a prawn cocktail every time I come although there is a large menu . The food is reasonably priced . The fish and chips are always fresh . We will return .This is also a good restaurant for a large group of people .

We had a really pleasant Sunday lunch. Food was excellent and lots of gluten free options including desserts. The gluten free apple crumble was amazing. Lovely atmosphere and very reasonably priced.

We have ate there loads of times but this review is about the outside catering my daughter asked them to cater her wedding and i can only say they went beyond the usual menu it was fantastic from the breakfast they provided until after the buffet that evening the food was served quickly and was hot nothing was to much bother Roy, Tasha, and their staff were fantastic the menu created by Shea was out of this world can not thank them enough they really helped make her day memorable thankyou so much

First time visiting, nice deccor and friendly staff The food was ok and served hot. Although the prawn cocktail was lacking in sauce. The main course which where roast beef and roast turkey where extremely small portions and bland in flavour soaked in gravy. Small portions and not charged accordingly.

Really lovely place to eat, very spacious tables. Staff were all very friendly and the food was top notch.

I had breakfast and dinner on 3rd June 2023 along with 38 ladies from Bridge NI . We were very well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious with a constant supply of tea and coffee plus juice and water jugs. Good portions. Would highly recommend this gem of a restaurant which also has good parking.🥰

French's have started a vegetarian and vegan menu this weekend, had Madras vegetable curry with boiled rice and flat bread

Had lunch today . My husband and I ordered the battered cod and chips. It was tasteless, the batter was crisp but had no flavour the fish also. Was disappointed. The decor is nice,the staff friendly.

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Vegan option wasn’t great, a hard round the edge bun, a bought in frozen style chickpea burger, very over cooked onion ring, lettuce and a lonely small single tomato slice with no sauce. My family all enjoyed their beef mains, I just think it’s terribly lazy to not even try creating something tasty for vegans.

Never been disappointed with this place. The food is always well presented and delicious. The staff are attentive and friendly!

Chose French's for birthday lunch,prebooked, seated in one of booths which was comfortable and bit more private. Enjoyed the chowder, pleased was still on menu, and scampi both quickly served. Rate service and food v.good

Great food, friendly helpful staff and a wonderful experience having a late lunch with my family. My daughter loved the creamy pasta and my wee boy finished his fish and chips (he never does this).

Booked a table for my family and I some weeks ago. This is an absolute gem of a restaurant with a fantastic menu, warm and friendly staff and high quality food. Definitely worth visiting and whilst this was my first visit it definitely will not be my last.

Searching for somewhere to eat after visiting Newcastle last Saturday and stumbled across this lovely cafe/bistro, was very busy but was seated straight away! Ordered panini/toastie , kids dinner & kid’s sausage meal- not much of a wait and adult meals were delicious & served with salad & coleslaw. Daughter’s dinner went down a treat & the Roast beef didn’t even need a knife to cut… was as soft as butter, wee boy devoured his dinner & the desserts were just as good- Apple crumble, malteaser cheesecake & brownie all delicious… would travel out of my way to come here again if I’m in the area and have recommended to family and friends.

We were here on Saturday and service and food were great. I had of the special menu and the rest of our family had off the main menu. The only down point is there was red onion in the green salad - I’ve no problem...

Absolutely fantastic Breakfast. I had the feel good Breakfast and my husband had the fry. Excellent portion sizes, delicious, great service and good value. It cost us around 24 pounds but was worth every penny. I would ld definitely recommend !

Tasty turkey n ham. Pity about the so called celebration cheesecake. Being Christmas I was expecting celebrations chocolates perhaps but it was random cheap tasting chocolate instead that topped the cheesecake. Bit of a let down to lunch but hey ho it's only cheesecake.

French's are amazing! Unfortunately due to Covid our Christmas plans had to completely change last minute. With nothing prepared for Christmas Day French's sorted us out with a takeaway three course Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings. It tasted fantastic. We can't thank them enough. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the French's team!

Had a lovely family birthday dinner and really reasonably priced.

Arrived on a Sunday morning with a group of cyclists. Made to feel very welcome and offered refills very quickly. Service was slower than usual but the quality of the food justified this.

Noise levels were too high when the upper floor was filled to capacity.

Food was delicious, and the staff were all very friendly & helpful. Would highly recommend

Best Beef I have ever had in a restaurant, anywhere. Great Staff. Cannot find fault. The other meal at the table was excellent.

A great breakfast spot - the poached eggs on sourdough with hollandaise was delicious. The berry smoothie was too sweet - a lot of sugar must have been added. It didn’t affect our overall meal too much though.

The roast beef was outstanding and the fish is out of this world . Worth a trip to ir call into this restaurant. Would recommend 👌

Food good, staff was excellent apart from the gentleman on the till, (looked like manager ) communication skills could have been better and not obsevering who's first in line at check out. We doubt if we'll be back.
