Well for those people who know me I simply love Thai and looking at the reviews on this place thought I would be in for a treat. Warning bells started ringing when I was told they didn’t use fish sauce. The food arrived and my god I have never in all my life tasted anything like it, slimy disgusting, and tasteless. This restaurant falls under the Brewery Tap banner and I have frequented the same in Peterborough which is fantastic however how anyone can rate this as good Thai food leaves bewildered.

An excellent pub serving very well kept real ales including Shipstones beers brewed on the premises alongside several guest beers many local and continental lagers. Friendly service, large interior with pool table and a good sun trap beer garden. The authentic Thai food is superior to any pub or restaurant I’ve visited in the city and a real bargain particularly at lunchtime. A good mix of regulars and a proper pub atmosphere which along with the beer and food makes this a real gem. One of the best pubs in Nottingham without a doubt. Get on the tram and give it a go!

Ok, so the pub itself may be a bit rough around the edges, wobbly sticky tables, stained seats etc. However, the food is the best Thai food I have ever tasted! The staff are always so friendly and I’ve never had to wait more than 20 minutes for food. Been coming to this place for years and never had a bad experience. Great value for money. I highly recommend the Thai green curry.

Very disappointing - I had heard that Shipstone's had made a resurrection in Nottingham, and remembering what it tasted like in the late 1970's I was determined to try it out - I travelled an hour with great intrepidation and on arrival hastily ordered a pint of Shippo's original . What a disappointment - instead of the wonderful pint I was expecting I was presented with a flat, lacklustre hazy pint of what can only be described as a poor substitute for a pint of beer. I'd be embarrassed to serve it. I asked a chap sat at the bar what he was drinking as it looked beautifully clear, he said "Caffrey's mate because it's the only consistent beer in here" - if that's what the locals are saying it doesn't bode well does it? If you are going to resurrect something, then do it properly for goodness sake - old man Shipstone must be turning in his grave . If you want a decent pint of Shippo's, Colin Brown's Star bitter at the Belvoir brewery is as good a copy as you're likely to find anywhere. On a positive note, the Thai food was amazing - the evening wasn't a total disaster after all

I've worked relatively close by for a while, there isn't much available for lunch in the area so I have visited a few times. Its about a fiver for a lunch meal. The food is usually good but service isn't always, worst experience was after pre ordering food to arrive and be told the food will be 20mins late and no tables are available??? Been here in the evening for a couple of drinks and the selection was better than most.

This used to be my local and I loved eating here. When my daughter suggested it, I couldn't wait to go. I have to say regretfully that it was a great disappointment. This used to be the best Thai food outside of Thailand. NOT ANY MORE. This was like a bad take away sticky sludgy looking rice noodles, more bad Chinese than Thai. Even the staff have lost their cheer. No smiles no thank you. The little things used to make this place as much as the food. Looks like a unhappy camp with bad food. I am unhappy to say that we won't be back.

This used to be a regular treat of mine and have not been for 3 years so when my friend suggested going I jumped at the chance to go again.Sadly the food let it down massively, I left most of mine as the crispy batter was soggy which made it taste as if it had been in a warm pot with the sauce for a few hours maybe even from the day before!?! The rice was all stuck together. I had Thai sweet and sour chicken with an egg fried rice with some prawn crackers it came to £14.95 then you order drinks at the bar separate. It was not worth the money and was like eating a bad take away in your local pub!Maybe I have been spoilt by having such wonderful Thai meals at Grand Siam in Eastwood.Sadly myself and my friend were both unhappy with our meals and agreed that was our last visit.Such a shame as we were both really looking forward to it, just to be let down by food that we could of made better ourselves at home.

I have to say, after eating here, I was very impressed afterwards. The prices were definitely reasonable and the portions and quality of the food easily justified them too. I heard a lot of positive buzz about the Thai food here from friends and family and had to try it for myself. The food was very enjoyable and they served it quite quickly but cooked well and not rushed at all. It was well presented and easily the same standard as a certain Thai restaurant I love going to and have been for years. The Thai Fries were a really nice, unique surprise which has got me hankering for more of them and not just because of them but the atmosphere, prices and especially quality of the food definitely has me savouring my next visit as soon as possible. Highly recommended! Will definitely visit again and many more times. It's a real hidden away gem and I hope they get a lot more recognition because they really pleasantly surprised me and gave me a real highlight to remember.

My mate told us to wait when he went off, coming back with some menus, me and my other mate looking at each thinking it's weird! Then when we had picked a load of food, my mate again told us to wait, he got up and rang a doorbell on the bar! A few seconds later a Thai man appeared and took the order. What happened next was amazing...20 minutes later....all this traditional Thai food started coming out, curries, noodles and sticky rice! All the food we had was amazing. I recently started a new job, and discovered the Fox and crown through my new colleagues. We go here for Friday lunch every few weeks. When I was first told about the Fox and Crown I was told that it is a nice English pub, which looks absolutely nothing like a thai restaurant inside or outside, but happens to serve exceptionally good Thai food. This didn't seem to add up so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in.The decor is nice enough, sort of traditional and modern at the same time. The bar staff are friendly and helpful. The drinks selection is really good: all the usual favourites plus plenty of real ale, including several that are brewed on site at the micro-brwery round the back. They also have my favourite Czech beer Staropramen on tap, which is the first time I've seen it served on draught in England. The menu is of course 100% thai food, ratherthan the usual pub grub menu featuring the odd bit of thai food. the main problem with the menu is that I struggle to choose what to have, because everything sounds so good. The service is done separately from the bar, at a little desk to the side staffed by one of the Thai family who run the kitchen. The food is usually served within a few minutes of ordering it. One time we did have to wait about half an hour, with no apparent reason, but every other time the service has been super quick (but dont let that fool you, none of this food is microwaved!).The quality of the food is really, really good. I absolutely love it.The prices are quite cheap; all the main courses are £5.50. We usually have a couple of sides between us like Thai prawn crackers of Thai fries (both exellent). I can't remember the exact price of the sides but I remember that they're not expensive. There is a small beer garden out back which is really nice when the sun is out.I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. It's definitely a new favourite of mine.I've only ever been at lunch time but I gather that the pub gets quite busy in the evenings. if you're heading down it might be worth ringing ahead to book a table.

We haven’t ordered from here before but sadly won’t be back, we ordered the meal deal which would have been great value for money if we ate it. The onion salad that comes with the popadoms had a very odd smell and taste, almost like they were kept in stale water, the popadoms were ok, we had a mixed kebab starter which had a really nice onion barji, two small pieces of tandoori chicken which were tasty but a tad dry, and a lamb kofta which wasn’t nice, it wasn’t cooked enough and had a hair going through the middle. The main course was a chicken Balti, this was ok, but it wasn’t spicy at all, for a medium curry I would expect a little spice, there was 4 thin slices of chicken breast. The rice was fine, the side dish was Bombay potatoes, I have never had Bombay potatoes that were made from new potatoes, they tasted like they had tomato purée on them, a little weird. All in all I we was very disappointed and won’t be ordering again from here
