Founded Coffee in Ballymoney

Before the election of Apollo was to be considered, Titus had some pre election jitters we thought best to overcome with some coffee and good food. Our broken phaser launched us into an unknown village state. We ordered a toastie and brioche bap, onion marmalade was a pleasant, sweet surprise to an otherwise savoury cheese and bacon toastie, a welcome balance. Coffee was expertise and judging by the writing in the wall - these guys know what they’re doing. Precise measurement’s and timing is the difference between a vending machine brew and coffee brewed in the halls of Valhalla. Excellent location, cosy with the warmth of the sun flowing through the windows makes up for the discomfort of the vintage school chairs.

Been here a few times with few different mates and I’ve got to say there is nowhere on the North Coast that does coffee like Founded. I’m quite into coffee myself but everyone I’ve been with has agreed that Founded is just another level. Anyone complaining that “its too cold” or whatever can go to Bob and Berts where they belong.

Wow! Well, what can I say. The food served in this establishment is not fit for consumption and is also an embarrassment. I visited quite recently and was served a plate of burn offerings. I had ordered sourdough bread, which, due to the degree of burning it had received, I was unable to bite into as it simply kept breaking into tiny pieces. I made the waitress aware of the matter who did offer an apology but nothing more. When I paid the bill and mentioned my discontent with the standard of the food to the manager, asking that consideration be given for some discount, he refused outright to even consider this. No form of apology was given either. It was my first and last visit. There is another fabulous establishment with a nautical theme not too far away from this place of cremation, and I will just have to sail away there in future.

Very disappointing visit today, We ordered a sourdough cheese toastie that when served was burnt, a sourdough toast that was so hard it hurt the person's gums both went back and were not replaced and a sourdough bread with egg, peas and without the bacon that was consumed but not great. We were charged £19.70 for the privilege and no apology or replacement, we live locally but will definitely not be returning.

A brilliant wee spot for a catch up with friends, family outing or a meeting with colleagues, small enough to not feel commercial and big enough to not feel cramped. Loads of Gluten Free, Vegan and Diary free options and really great coffee. 100% recommend the Gitwe by La Cabra pour-over along with a brioche bun.

Stopped here for coffee today. Minimal menu items available. Paid just under £9 for two coffees and one piece of cake..!! Coffee was served in a paper cup (not acceptable for a sit down coffee shop). Post COVID is not an excuse to use disposables in my opinion. I would not recommend.

Called in on the way past two weeks ago and it definitely wasn’t a mistake. The coffee was the best I’ve had and there pastries and cakes were beautiful. They also have dairy free options for milk.

Well decorated and kitted out. Didn't have any food this time, but it looked good. Tea was great. Looks like they've put a lot of effort into designing the place. The littlwe gallery next door is lovely too, and it's good to have a connecting door so you can enjoy the paintings after your coffee.

Quality brunch/lunch type food. Sourdough, bagels, Avocado, stacked pancakes, awesome toasties, you get the picture.

Now one of my favourite cafes for lunch/breakfast, I try to eat here at least once a week and highly recommend a visit. One review states that it's only sourdough on the menu which is completely untrue. They have a small select menu of healthy options and do a different special every week. If you are looking for sausages n chips it's not for you! The staff are all very friendly and the service is flawless. Price is as you'd expect, my usual is the toasted sourdough, avacado, bacon n pouched eggs with tea and treat which comes in at about £10, yes you could find a cheaper breakfast but the quality and portion size make it great value.

We went here for a light lunch and were very disappointed by the limited menu you could have most things as long as you liked sour dough bread.

Great wee coffee shop, really friendly and helpful staff & delicious food. They cook from scratch and therefore can cater for all including vegetarian, vegan & gluten free. On my first visit my daughter had a Pancake Stack with Bacon & Maple syrup, and I had Carrot & Swede Soup (vegan) and Sourdough, absolutely delicious and great value for money too. That will definitely not be my last visit :) Highly Recommended.

The previous cafe was a favourite of ours and they moved out to a new location. The place has since been renovated and under new ownership. It has an industrial feel to the decor and a very enthusiastic owner and barista. The menu though not extensive looks interesting. We had a scone and a snickers crispy bar both of which were very nice. The coffee and tea are both sourced from specialists in Belfast. We had coffee and again was very good. It’s not cheap and the coffee cups quite small but it wouldn’t put me off going again. I liked it very much.
