Small pub with old-world charm. The food is served from a porter cabin and is really good.

Cant belive its 8oclock and there closing pub asking people leave for last orders saying there not enough people in pub when there 3 full tables drinking and a table of 4 with us really a joke and i have just watched the bar staff turn away another couple in the rain then 2 other more couples that would have made the pub full as there is only 6 tables to sit at not happy with this but staff said this came from landlady

Great pub, good selection of well priced beers, lots of outdoor space, kids play area, parking, George's grill serving good value grub, plenty of parking, dog friendly, I really can't fault the place.

Bit cramped inside very long lines for bar small playground for kids 4 pound a pint ok prices I think there is soon to be food apart from that mediocre pub 3 stars

Lovely welcoming pub. Seating area outside is lovely on a summer night.

We didn't eat here, it was a last minute decision to pop in. Lone female serving was welcoming and friendly. It was just after 4.30pm, hardly anyone there. We sat outside as it was a lovely day.

Great beer garden with an excellent food stand.. However on busy days this place really let's itself down with the table service... You can wait an hour from when you order for a drink to be brought to you and if you don't order two rounds at a time its not really worth bothering. Perhaps a more flexible staffing situation will alleviate these issues.

Take your staff to somewhere like the Gerrard in Aspull to see how to be efficient

Only for those who like waiting 30-40 mins for a drink!! I used to like coming here, but not any more, the very slow service is an understatement! Staff were rude after being questioned about the slow service and they are using covid as an excuse like everyone at the moment when something is wrong. We don't have this problem in other little local pubs, so it is being managed badly. A lot of locals are walking out or not even going in because of waiting for a drink. It will be the death of the place if nothing changes.

Fantastic venue, with extremely hard working staff, went banK holiday Monday and the place was rammed, full. Never the less the service was as prompt as possible, yea a bit of a wait but what would you expect given Covid restrictions, well done Formbys, brilliant day had by all of us.

First time at the Formbys great atmosphere great people the pub, was well marshalled tables well spaced out, people arriving had to queue and wait for a table to be unoccupied before they could take a seat, bar staff were pleasant enough, Car Park could be bigger but apart from that I Would definitely recommend this place and I will also look forward to coming back. Wigan thanks for having me.

By far the best pub in Hindley, choice of cask ales. Large beer garden which is perfect in summer! Gets a little to crowded for me at times, but that’s because the place is popular and for good reason.

Could be the best pub in Hindley. Adjust seating to make the best of the space, remove large groups from taking 5 tables up at once by making it one level and decent tables and chairs. ( But that is really knit picking)
