Great little café right next to Forge Dam. The atmosphere was wonderful with all the walkers some with their dogs enjoying a moment of relaxation in this peaceful environment. We had some coffee and cake and enjoyed some of the wonderful ice cream. Totally worth the stop on your next adventure through Sheffield parks, a very worthy pit stop.

If your diabetic forget going to Forge Dam Cafe. Absolutely nothing available to eat. You would think a simple omelette and salad wouldn't be too difficult. This was on the menu in the past. Now it's all bread and chips

Lovely cafe good food nr a good kids playground

The cafe serves great food and there are nice walks nearby. It is also along a cycle route from the city centre to the peak district therefore it is an ideal place to stop for food.

Decent coffee, cake and ice cream. Good service from the staff. Place always seems busy, but not _too_ busy. Sensible waypoint to turn around, refuel and then head back towards town.

My first visit on a lovely summer’s day did not disappoint. It was busy but there were plenty of waiting staff efficiently resolving everyone’s requirements. I didn’t see signposting from the residential street where I gained access but it seemed pretty well known when I got there. It’s quite spacious inside but on a sunny day the outside areas were the more popular. Up a few steps is the eponymous dam with water birds to be fed and an adjacent children’s play area make it a great spot for families. Busy ice cream sales confirms this. The cafe staff were pleasant and attentive and their ordering buzz device assured a prompt turnaround for food and beverages. It’s well worth a visit.

We love to come as often as we can, great for walk especially with our dog. After we have brunch at the café always enjoy what ever we choose to eat and love the cappuccino's. Friendly service, clean table's and usually quick service on the food which you get a buzzer for while you wait.

The park itself is a hidden gem. The cafe is wonderful, the ice cream is delicious and the staff are friendly is well.

A very welcoming cafe in a hut with outside seating. Mercifully dogs are not allowed inside. The outside is marred by poorly controlled dogs barking at each other, menacing clients and generslly spoiling the atmosphere.

This place is either closed at 4pm or closing. Many times I’ve been here at 3pm and it’s not serving food or closing, so be warned if you want to actually eat here you have to come before 3pm, even if it says it closes at 5pm!!

Just had coffee but it's in the most lovely setting, near the duck pond. Lots of cakes and other food on offer which looked very tasty.

My son ordered 2 caramelised onion sausage rolls ,2 teas to go we had to wait for our tea ,our sausage rolls came out first ,and mine was an ordinary, plain sausage roll, disappointed....it came to £14 .. Would have liked what we ordered . And ,yes ,they were "to go " ,so no going back 😒

First time here and it won't be our last. The coffee was beautiful and food was lovely a very pleasant place ☺️

Great service from friendly young team. Forge Dam is a like magnet for young and old, runners and walkers. There is plenty of seating inside and out for all weathers and a children's playground. A pit stop for those following the Porterclough trail up to Ringinglow and beyond into the Peak District. As well as bacon butties they also sell duck food for the children to feed the ducks. Mind the deep water.

The staff we met today were all very young but exceptionally polite, friendly and helpful. Will definitely return.

Great place to have coffee and food after a walk through Whitley woods. They have a decent options of sandwiches, hot drinks and cakes. Seating available indoor and outdoor, and there are public benches facing the forge dam as well.

Great little place to go. Was a first time visit for myself. Very lovely on the inside and nicely laid out. Food was good cafe food.

One of our favorite cafes in Sheffield, great place for a snack or lunch when walking along the Porter Valley. Excellent home made sausage rolls and really good coffee.

Very nice cafe, homemade tomato soup and a roll. Sat outside with the dogs next to the river.

There should be more sitting outside. The green area would be Ideal for temporary or removable tables and chairs.

Very busy at the weekends but a good system for ordering and collecting your food and drink. A nice spot to start or finish your walk and a convenient meeting place. Try the sausage roles they are gorgeous! Good selection of hot drinks and ice creams too. Breakfast sandwiches are not the cheapest but they are tasty!

Wonderful place halfway through our walk

Brilliant place! We usually go there for the chips, which are incredible! We had some waffles this time as well and they were equally as good. Perfect place before , mid or after a walk. Lovely scenery.

Visited today with my two young children. My youngest is dairy free and there were plenty of savory and sweet options to choose from. The staff were incredibly helpful and served us inside as we weren't having ice-cream. This meant we didn't need to join the massive queue at the window hatch. Absolutely delicious cakes and you couldn't tell the dairy free chocolate cake was dairy free.

This place is fantastic! It was a busy and very hot day and yet the staff were still really friendly, happy to help, had a great system in place to deal with all the customers and long queues were moving quickly. The food is really good. Great varied menu. Very much a cafe menu rather than restaurant, but a good one. Great chips, one portion is enough for two to share if on a budget, I had the Chicken Caesar wrap and it was lovely, really generous filling. You can tell how a place feels about food by the kind of side salad they put together. No wet lettuce and sad watery tomatoes here, the salad was fresh and crispy and even had some pickles in. My only criticism would be that the pickled cabbage was a little harsh. Sweeten up that pickling liquor a little and this place would be nearly faultless. Would definitely recommend

Have not yet tried the food at forge dam I nearly go for the ice cream/milkshakes which never miss and are a decent price for the quality of the ice-cream

Seems to lost some some of the ambience and welcoming atmosphere we enjoyed in the not to distant past (workers dashing around, shouting out customers order numbers)but we will continue to visit this beautiful part of Sheffield 🙂 and frequent the cafe .For some reason you now must queue outside the cafe just for a cup of tea ; drink your tea and then go back out side to order something else if required ?? 🤨. But the food and drinks are ok, sometimes not that hot due to the workers walking around outside to find who has ordered the food when they are actually sat in side ? But ha ho,the countryside is beautiful especially in spring time and is safe for all visitors 🙂👍

I usually frequent this cafe and have always highly recommend it. However, today I today I ordered avocado toast off the specials board and what they are charging for one slice of measly toast is absolutely scandalous. I was very disappointed as most places I have this optional is served with two pieces of bread. I will say that the presentation and staff were great

This is a great little cafe, you can either eat in or outside. The food is excellent, caters for both meat eaters and vegetarian/vegans. The staff were friendly and helpful. I have visited this cafe since being a young child, and the food is more substantial and haerty than I remember. The coffee was good. All-in-all a great end to a lovely walk.

Ordered a black Americano coffee to takeaway. Unfortunately it tasted like hot water with a hint of coffee. Appeared to be one shot instead of two for a regular size. Nothing worse than weak coffee. I do like the location though as it’s halfway along my usual stroll through Whitely Woods.

Lovely place to visit for a little bite and drink during the day, especially after a walk. They have a huge selection of things there, from proper food to ice creams and cakes. Couldn't recommend it anymore if you haven't been before but preferably go when it's a nicer day! I do wish they had more seating though as it can get super busy at peak times.

Hot drinks are expensive and no regards for any social distancing. Covid is still here and hasn't gone yet.

A really great vibe, get some ice cream or a milkshake and watch the ducks Makes it so much better if you walk the trail there through the forest
