Abi, is always so lovely and pleasant. Nothing is ever too much for her and she is a delight. She is always serves you with a smile and is an all around super star. She always checks on the customers and makes sure they have everything they need. Cannot fault her at all! The pub wouldn’t be the same without her! xx

A dreadful visit here on Sunday 5th January 2025. I had to stand in a single queue reaching to the door, then when I reached a till I was told non of our choices were available, no chicken or fish! This happened on a Sunday afternoon and has happened on a few previous visits. Also the pub was freezing cold, no radiators on in our area. I then had to make choices of meals we didnt really want and rejoin the single queue. This made for a very uncomfortable experience and frankly it felt like hard work. When informed a team leader about our experience he was non apologetic and said thee was a supply problem with food and we should check the app. I replied why should we have to do that? Couldn't there be an insert in the menu or a notice at the bar informing customers about non availability? Why waste customers time like this. We have been customers here for years and enjoyed great Family celebration meals here. Now we feel very disappointed that on each visit, lots of items on the menu are not available, we are not informed of this and there is no apology for this. My Mother informed the team leader as we left we would not be returning after years of custom and he just walked away, obviously not concerned. Im personally very upset and disappointed very upset following our visit today as are my Family and we will certainly not return. As a footnote we used to enjoy a game of darts at this pub, but a giant go cart has been placed in front of the board for some months preventing play. We asked the Owner and staff a few times if it might be moved to allow play. The Owner said he would move it but there it stays, blocking the dart board. We had just sent invites out to for a meal at the Flying Horse to have a meal celebrating a landmark Birthday. We will now be looking for another venue for this meal and future Family meals. It's a shame because this pub was so much better in terms of service and food quality and choice just 9 months ago and indeed just a few years ago. I've left glowing reviews in the past. The front of house staff are Professional and friendly. it's the management, team leaders and Chefs that our letting it down. Standards have consistently and dramatically fallen and its no longer a good experience visiting here. As a late addition to my review : I'm just responding to the reply from the owner below. I've worked for decades in customer service roles and I've never once turned a compliant around and said to a customer the fact they are complaining "isn't a good look" for them. How unprofessional! Most of the points I raised in my review have been ignored in the owners response and there is no attempt to put things right. This is a very poor response and poor customer service to a long standing customer of the pub. Even if I were a new customer its a rude, crude reply and the angry sarcastic "Happy New Year" at the end just confirms they don't really care.

I will never be coming here again, after eating here I ended up in hospital with food poisoning, after having to ask for the food to be hot as well as other customers.

Very disappointed, we have been twice in the last month for food & had to walk out both times as food was unavailable. We had friends drive from far away to come and eat with us. So as you can imagine we were very unhappy.

Had wings for a starter, chicken was jelly inside obviously been thrown in deep fryer from frozen and not temp checked. Main was a cheese burger. Tasted of really old cooking fat. Couldn't eat it or the chips. Disgusting

The food is very good and definitely good value for money the staff are very polite and helpful and you don’t have to wait ages for your food like most pubs

During our pre-booked Christmas meal with a group of friends, we encountered several disappointing experiences. The food arrived at room temperature, and the staff exhibited rudeness, with the exception of a young girl who diligently managed the bar service. Additionally, incorrect food was served to several tables. This service was exceptionally poor, and the tables were sticky. I will not be returning to this establishment in the future.

We booked for a large amount of people. They gave us a whole section to ourselves, all laid out and set up lovely. Food was really nice, hot, fresh and tasted lovely all of us finished the lot. We tried the new christmas cocktail pitchers which were really nice. A few members of staff came over to double check everything was okay and see if we needed anything. Thank you!

Will be coming now weekly. Food was a top standard. This is my 4th visit to a Hungry Horse site and it's always good value for the money. Site is clean, Staff Are Very friendly and enthusiastic. (Abi the Lady with pink Hair you're awesome!)

We had 2 varying meals on the Tuesday before our flight of which were excellent quality with great service.

After visiting some friends we popped in for some food before our drive home on Sunday. Steak (rare) chips and chocolate fudge cake for me and wife had a burger and chips also chocolate fudge cake. Service was very timely and the staff were friendly and smiling and very polite. Food was well cooked and tasted lovely. Will definitely visit again when visiting.

Absolutely love this place, the food is not only reasonably priced, but it's very good too! The Southern Fried Chicken Skewers are amazing! The staff are so helpful and polite, nothing is too much trouble, especially Abi ....not to mention Sue, Junior, and Alia... Well worth a visit!

Place was empty, food wasn't even edible. Drinks wasn't even nice. I don't get how you could mess it up so badly. Would be a really nice pub if the food were good. 🤮🤮🤮

Decidedly below average in every way. Visited for breakfast. Mediocre food prepared with zero care and imagination. Service friendly but excruciatingly slow.

This used to be a really good place to eat, food was brillant, staff were friendly. Last several visits food been greasy cold and inedible. We've left plates over half empty. It's a shame whats happened here needs to be sorted

Went on a Wednesday for curry and a pint was about 6.30pm and sat down place was empty. Went to order to be told they have no curry's left was baffled as 6.30pm seemed a con to get people in won't be returning

Had a delicious lunch . The food was so fresh and I would recommend it to passes by if they are looking lunch and a wee pint

Food is good with nice portions and good prices. Staff are all brilliant and really attentive. The atmosphere is decent, spacious but still cosy. Nice little pub, only reason for 4 instead of 5 is that it's a bit chilly inside.

I asked for a rare steak came out well done the nice server took it back with the source and peppers etc ….15 mins later the steak comes back on a cold plate with no source and no peppers ect and it was only just rare as there was no blood and it was hot on the tongue in the middle anyone who knows or eats rare steak knows this is not how things are meant to be ! Maybe the cook should stick to using the microwave !

Service is quick and friendly staff the kids love so more of a family place now has sport on TV in all areas of pub not just in adult area

Spent most of the day here yesterday with a group of friends. Table service is very handy, and the service was fast. I had the Frank's hot sauce wings and the cluck and cheese sharer, which were both very nice.

Excellent ran well organised pub, good food and outstanding service. Very busy pub ,but Manager on duty dealt with expanding queue waiting to order food and drinks in a calm and efficient manner. He seems to lead his team by example. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our waitress, Julia was exceptional 👏 she was cheerful, friendly and very pro-active. She went above and beyond to ensure we were happy and satisfied customers. The food was excellent and good value for money (especially in this day and age). We were all very impressed 👏 and fully intend to return again soon.

As a chauffeur i called in while waiting for a flight that was late. The young staff was amazingly friendly and helpful

Worse pub i have ever been to, que for the bar was about an hour long so ordered on the app, food came before drinks and eventually after 10mins had to go to the bar and tell them if i dont get my drink im bringing the food back which is now cold, food was vile even if it was hot, salt and pepper chips are just chips with a salt n pepper dust on the top that literally blows off. Needs shutting down

Came for lunch today with my mum and son and the food was lovely. The chips were crisp and the baguette was just enough. The staff were really friendly and also happy which is great to see, which goes to show a good manager (I'm assuming the very bubbly gentleman) this creates a great atmosphere. Will definitely come back.

As a picky eater myself, I find it quite hard to eat at a lot of places, but I am quite happy to say The Flying Horse is a go-to for a nice family evening. The food on the menu is wonderful and you there's a wide selection for you to choose from if you are perhaps more picky. It is also very adaptable for your own needs and that is always a benefit. The staff are super nice and respond well to you, and that helps make it so nice. The waiting times are also quite low compared to other places, and the price is nice and affordable. The planes flying over also make it quite fun, spotting them, and the decor inside also reflects that. The decor is very nice as well, traditional but nice and what I'd expect. Fond memories and have been coming here since I was young. Would recommend for anyone.

I was meant to give 4 stars, the only issue was the cleanliness of the tables. Staff were brilliant but we're way to busy, seemed short staffed tbh.

Very enjoyable. The Sticky toffee pudding is a portion that would do 3 people. Very nice. Buffet meal for 2 adults and 2 children were very good and great value. We shall be returning.

The food was epic here in a group of three we all had different dishes and we were all super happy, very good value for money, only draw back was the lack of staff.

The service from Beth is amazing, I asked how long she’s been working here and she said just over a month but by the way she works you would think she’s been here longer then that, her customer service still is impeccable.

Came in to the pub Sunday 25th August and was greeted by a smiley, happy young lady called Beth, she was very polite and happy to help me with anything I needed, she happily explained to me what lagers the pub had on draft. Would recommend Beth to anyone. Can’t name anyone else as Beth was the one one on the bar at the time. Will definitely be returning
