Good food, good service, shame the derby was poor

We went for Sunday dinner and the turkey was not nice at all. The other meal we ordered was very nice

Last time I visited this pub a give it a 4 star. Call today and after waiting 5 mins a asked one of the 3 or 4 members of staff that seemed to be busy doing nothing if they were serving, to be told there was a queue. I said I thought that was of food and I only require one drink, his reply no its for both food and drinks. The queue had about 15 people in it, I watched and it took approx 3 min to serve the first customer, so at that rate that's 45 mins wait. Needless to say but I left without a purchase. What a joke, when did we start queuing at the bar for a drink.

Just been for Sunday dinner & wanted the beef but they had ran out so we had turkey. Waited over half an hour but they were very busy. The meal was average with the most disgusting “turkey” I have ever had, processed & tasteless!! We used to come here quite often but won’t be bothering again.

came in today for some food. was very busy but the staff were still very helpful and kind. when the food came out, it was delicious. i really enjoyed my time here today, thank you flying horse!

Good food and great for plane watchers. This time was let down by two people smoking something other than cigarettes in the car park,but thankfully, it was not a regular thing

Slow service, to many kids running riot without parents!! People smoking weed in the play area with staff accepting it because it's there mates. 100% won't return!!

Abi was the best!! She has given us such a great experience and helped us out with everything we needed. She needs a raise please.

Came in for lunch today with my wife. Had a lovely meal and were served by a lovely lady at the bar, Abi, who was very helpful. Food was quick and good value for money, brought out by Junior who was very kind and helpful.

I was at the flying horse today with my family and the food was lovely as I went for lunch. Abi served me and her customer service was great and she was really accommodating. The food was really nice and came out really hot and the service was really fast. Will be returning.

Great experience for an afternoon snack

Excellent service, wonderful snacks, well decorated and you even get the privilege of seeing the planes that will land at Manchester Airport, passing very close to you.

certainly a pub where the carpets are shamefully dirty and also show a turbulent past of the place. Good and polite guys at the bar. We ate meat and chips and drank Guinness. Normal and low price

Went here yesterday to celebrate a birthday. The staff were absolutely amazing. Really efficient and really made it a nice evening. Their singing isnt to bad either!! Thanks for a lovely night

Exactly what you get on the tin... cheap prices for cheap low quality food. In a very rough part of town which is Wythenshawe and full of rough Wythenshawe families... it's a bit of a stereotyping review but this place fits the stereotype. Rough and tacky

It's stanard pub food. Was OK, although the salt & pepper chips were awful, that sprinkled powder stuff over them, charged 50p extra for that ...Green King you should be ashamed!

It is now apparently "against health codes" to make fries crispy (which is the intended way to make them) yet still offered to make them that way and give no refund

Food was tasteless, not worth the money! Football on TV was too loud, even though we asked for it to be turned down -wouldn't recommend this pub at all. What a shame 😔

15 00 on a Saturday and got a table straight away ( 6 of us ) ordered on the app and food was hot and whst we ordered. Kept us upto date with our order. And pub was spotless. Your team should be proud of themselves

Poor staff service, drinks were 'thrown' on the table. When the plates were collected we weren't asked if the meal was OK, I had to ask the lady if she could let the chef know that the chicken in the middle was like jelly. There was no apology or any acknowledgement for the meal not being eaten, which I would of expected. Usually have a lovely time whilst visiting this pub, will question in future if to return.

It was a nice place to take kids out, but the food has no taste, eg, the bacon the cheese burger was tasteless and left a fatty taste in our mouths. Andvthey charges you for parking as well,

The environment is amazing, the food is really delicious and Louis is a really great guy, attended us very well. I really enjoyed my time in there.

We came here especially for breakfast on Sunday morning and were not disappointed. We stayed in Manchester overnight and sought this place out as we had tesco vouchers to use up. Mega breakfast highly recommended. Pub is decent and clean, plenty of parking, staff were all lovely (especially Abi!). And a great place to watch the planes land & take off

Was disappointed with this Hungry horse very understaffed was no cutlery dirty tables everywhere staff were nice and trying there best but food seems precooked and just warmed up.

Food was OK. Had a beef burger which is usually lovely. Not today really. Service was good! Atmosphere though. Not great. Like seeing the planes fly over

Food is always good ,however there is always out of stock with items on a regular basis example went in for fish and chips said out of stock when in again week later same again fish and chips out of stock service at the bar is terrible waiting over 20 minutes on several occasions the place is understaffed, and staff seen miserable when you do see them the place needs a input of staff and a better food management that controls stock levels

This is by far our favourite pub. We drive 20 minutes every Sunday to get breakfast. Decent price and great food. Thanks to abby we always get our favourite table. Much appreciated.

We were celebrating my cousin's 60th Birthday 27/1/25 7pm about 20 of us the service from Jake, Louis & Alia was excellent everything was perfect would recommend a visit. A great place for plane spotting .

I have recently visited The Flying Horse and I can certainly say that I will return. The food was great, clean environment and the service was great, the staff were friendly and couldn't do enough, especially Junior.

A quick call in on way past looked after by Abi who served quickly and mentioned it was good and nice to see they have the £5 epic food deals on for a couple more weeks for a quick snack also a couple of beers

Abi, is always so lovely and pleasant. Nothing is ever too much for her and she is a delight. She is always serves you with a smile and is an all around super star. A dreadful visit here on Sunday 5th January 2025. I had to stand in a single queue reaching to the door, then when I reached a till I was told non of our choices were available, no chicken or fish! This happened on a Sunday afternoon and has happened on a few previous visits. Also the pub was freezing cold, no radiators on in our area. I then had to make choices of meals we didnt really want and rejoin the single queue. This made for a very uncomfortable experience and frankly it felt like hard work. When informed a team leader about our experience he was non apologetic and said thee was a supply problem with food and we should check the app. I replied why should we have to do that? Couldn't there be an insert in the menu or a notice at the bar informing customers about non availability? Why waste customers time like this. We have been customers here for years and enjoyed great Family celebration meals here. Now we feel very disappointed that on each visit, lots of items on the menu are not available, we are not informed of this and there is no apology for this. My Mother informed the team leader as we left we would not be returning after years of custom and he just walked away, obviously not concerned. Im personally very upset and disappointed very upset following our visit today as are my Family and we will certainly not return. As a footnote we used to enjoy a game of darts at this pub, but a giant go cart has been placed in front of the board for some months preventing play. We asked the Owner and staff a few times if it might be moved to allow play. The Owner said he would move it but there it stays, blocking the dart board. We had just sent invites out to for a meal at the Flying Horse to have a meal celebrating a landmark Birthday. We will now be looking for another venue for this meal and future Family meals. It's a shame because this pub was so much better in terms of service and food quality and choice just 9 months ago and indeed just a few years ago. I've left glowing reviews in the past. The front of house staff are Professional and friendly. it's the management, team leaders and Chefs that our letting it down. Standards have consistently and dramatically fallen and its no longer a good experience visiting here. As a late addition to my review : I'm just responding to the reply from the owner below. I've worked for decades in customer service roles and I've never once turned a compliant around and said to a customer the fact they are complaining "isn't a good look" for them. How unprofessional! Most of the points I raised in my review have been ignored in the owners response and there is no attempt to put things right. This is a very poor response and poor customer service to a long standing customer of the pub. Even if I were a new customer its a rude, crude reply and the angry sarcastic "Happy New Year" at the end just confirms they don't really care.

I will never be coming here again, after eating here I ended up in hospital with food poisoning, after having to ask for the food to be hot as well as other customers.

Very disappointed, we have been twice in the last month for food & had to walk out both times as food was unavailable. We had friends drive from far away to come and eat with us. So as you can imagine we were very unhappy.

Had wings for a starter, chicken was jelly inside obviously been thrown in deep fryer from frozen and not temp checked. Main was a cheese burger. Tasted of really old cooking fat. Couldn't eat it or the chips. Disgusting

Food is not the best but nor expensive

During our pre-booked Christmas meal with a group of friends, we encountered several disappointing experiences. The food arrived at room temperature, and the staff exhibited rudeness, with the exception of a young girl who diligently managed the bar service. Additionally, incorrect food was served to several tables. This service was exceptionally poor, and the tables were sticky. I will not be returning to this establishment in the future.

We booked for a large amount of people. They gave us a whole section to ourselves, all laid out and set up lovely. Food was really nice, hot, fresh and tasted lovely all of us finished the lot. We tried the new christmas cocktail pitchers which were really nice. A few members of staff came over to double check everything was okay and see if we needed anything. Thank you!

Will be coming now weekly. Food was a top standard. This is my 4th visit to a Hungry Horse site and it's always good value for the money. Site is clean, Staff Are Very friendly and enthusiastic. (Abi the Lady with pink Hair you're awesome!)

After visiting some friends we popped in for some food before our drive home on Sunday. Steak (rare) chips and chocolate fudge cake for me and wife had a burger and chips also chocolate fudge cake. Service was very timely and the staff were friendly and smiling and very polite. Food was well cooked and tasted lovely. Will definitely visit again when visiting.
