Five Guys in Braintree

Absolutely appalling service and products, food looks like two weeks old and tastes disgusting, just waisted £40.00, would not advise my family or friends to waist time and money over here. I included pics in a first pic is what it’s so called grilled cheese sandwich 😂

The two guys who were working at the time were so patient and understanding. It was my first time eating out with a gluten allergy so I was a little nervous about asking for it with no bun, but they were so accommodating and wrapped it in lettuce instead for me !! So chuffed and the burger was delicious! Thank you so much 😊

The boy who took my order was very polite. Staff were busy but also seemed friendly. Ordered a little cheeseburger as it's just one patty & regular fries. Held off on a milkshake today but they're usually nice & creamy. Food was cooked fresh, burger was juicy & my toppings of choice (ketchup, mustard, pickles etc) were full of flavor. Chips were gorgeous, lightly salted, crispy on the outside & fluffy on the inside. Perfect. Yes, the food is rather expensive & packaged like a take out but it's standard for Five Guys! All part of the experience & good for a treat now & then.

Owen was so helpful. And such great customer service. Was very kind and helpful. Defo recommend!! Staff were all great.

Overpriced greasy rubbish! Nearly £50 for two burgers, one hotdog, one milkshake, two cokes and one fries! Over £4 for a soft drink, that is not free refills, that is paying for several drinks in advance! Food arrived packaged as a takeaway for eat it, chips literally chucked in a bag, food looks like it's been kicked around the kitchen before being shoddily wrapped in tin foil! Just avoid. Go to burger kind over the road if you want a burger, otherwise try one of the proper restaurant's next to it.

First time trying these guys and will definitely be back! Super tasty bases especially the pan one! I went for the diner topping and their special Much cheaper than dominos and better quality!

Went there with my son late afternoon our first time ever visit as we’ve heard good stuff about it from friends so we thought why not to try it got there ordered 2 cheeseburgers 2 fries 1 soft drink Total £27.95 Are you kidding me? It was tasty don’t get me wrong but that’s way too much to pay for 2 persons and I didn’t even buy my own drink I’ve shared with my son because soft drinks are unlimited With these kind of money we could have had a proper pub lunch. Never again thank you very much

Burger ok but at that price it should be. Neither of my 2 grandsons could eat the chips, they were overcooked and tasted of mould. Very overpriced at £39-60 for 2 meals & 2 drinks

Hubby and I went to Freeport Village and decided to pop in to Five Guys for a late lunch. Wow ! we were so impressed. The young man serving was so helpful and explained we probably wouldn't need 2 lots of chips because the portions were large.You choose your burger then add toppings , all fresh . Hubby had the all beef hot dog and I had the 2 pattie burger .Lots of toppings great buns all cooked where you can see. They are all wrapped carefully and they even put a little sticker on top. Drinks are large and refills are free. We loved it all , the chips were so fresh and there was a sign to say where the potatoes had come from that day (a farm in Hertfordshire) .If you want a real American Burger give it a try. I thanked the staff after who were all masked and gloved and said it was actually the best burger I had eaten,, Well worth a visit...

Honestly if you like burgers or just meat in bread this place will make you happy! So many choices and toppings. So many drinks. And so much food! Desperate Dan size portions. Best chips and burgers we have found. Staff always great place always clean food always mouthwatering!

Everyone I know raves about this place and I really don’t know why. The first time we had a take out it wasn’t very nice. The food was cold and the burger roll was flat. I thought we’d try again and hopefully it would be better. Sadly it was even worse than the first time. The food was again cold, burger roll squashed literally flat, cold and soggy. The relish had no taste. The burger itself was edible, but that’s the only positive I can give. One bad experience you can forgive two in a row is just terrible service. Won’t eat here again. Maybe it would be better to eat in when it’s possible.

£30 for 2 burgers and chips with a milk shake - 90 minute wait, cold and delivered to wrong address by a grumpy driver. Back to MacDonald’s for me I’m afraid

Thought we would give Five Guys a try after hearing good reviews but wish we hadn’t now. Burger x3, chips x1 & drinks x3 came to over £40!! And the quality was not much better than McDonald’s, served in a paper bag. The burgers have no lettuce, tomato, gherkin etc. Very disappointed, will not return or recommend.

Long wait for food, even though it was not busy, food seriously over priced. All in all, I wasn't impressed.

I love Five Guys, but I definitely won’t be returning to this one again. I was telling the cashier guy my order, and he kept telling me to speak up very horribly. He then went over to one of his work colleagues and started whispering to him, and they were both looking over at me, making me feel very awkward and uncomfortable! Absolutely disgusting attitude from the guy.

Serving sizes very large. Burgers and chips are delicious. Best chips I ever had! Had to wait quite a while for food, so even though it looks as though a fast food restaurant and the food is as though from a fast food restaurant it...

we tried as a takeaway thoroughly enjoyed what we choose. grandson had eaten in several times. delivery through deliveroo wasnt so good

All I'd like to say is brilliant. This places knows how to make you feel welcome and the customer service was some of the best I've had in a long time. Will definitely be back!

the idea of choosing what garnishs you would like in your burger bun was excellent will return at sometime when deliveroo getstheir act together re getting the food to you hot

Delicious, expensive but I find it hard to get a better burger, a step above the crap maccys sells and a step above even KFC burgers nearby. The Cajun fries are amazing and the milkshakes are murderable.

A really well made burger and fries. Good quality and quantity, I would suggest if buying chips, just go for ‘little’ as this is a massive portion! :) You get the feeling that everything is plentiful here, the burgers are big, chip portions massive, drinks...

Always a friendly and helpfull service, great staff, know their menu very well, great there is a veggie option. The shakes are the best and another reason I'll allways visit. The peanuts are a real nice touch, clever idea

Very happy to have five guys in Braintree as now I can go after work. They do the most scrumptious burgers in town as well as the chips. I absolutely love the drink machine because it has so many different drinks in many flavours. If you don't like burgers they give you a free bun if you ask for one.

I've eaten at Five Guys in Bluewater several times and always had great food so when at the Braintree Outlet Centre decided to stop here for food. I wish we hadn't - I like salt on my chips but there was an excess amount making them inedible and the bacon on our burger was way past burnt and inedible. The music was extremely load, staff disinterested and toilet filthy. Steer clear.

Staff were friendly, efficient and hardworking. Burgers and shakes are delicious. This is a small unit with very limited seating. It is also very noisy, made worse by the loud music. At peak times, parking is very difficult.
