Cefn glas bridgend absolutely terrible please spend money elsewhere , chips are foul , sausages and other meat products are pale and look undercooked but taste unbelievable foul , staff are kids can't even cook potatoe chips , the place needs closing down !!! FOUL , ALSO THE WAIT TIME FOR A BAG CHIPS IS UNBELIEVABLE

Visited 21st June and wasn’t a great experience. Took ages to take an order and wasn’t the friendliest of people. Chips came stone cold and the fish wasn’t the best it had so much bones I couldn’t eat it. Not recommended at all on this experience.

Quite expensive £8.99 just for fish

One of the nicest curry sauces around.

Chips, jumbo sausage and fish cake with Chipshop peas. All very nice. Bit on the expensive side though.

£2.90 for a large sausage in batter which was dripping in oil, £2.10 for an overcooked small sausage these prices are ridiculous for the quality you get.

just walked there in the rain. after phoning up been told its shut early due to the weather.... ? they work indoors . god help if they ever had to graft outside.

£8.50 for a this! It was near double the size in your Porthcawl branch last week! Shop local they say; absolutely not! Disgusting to be ripped off!

Hit and miss on quality of chips. Can be a little pricey but okay for an occasional treat. Good staff!

This place has always been a bit on the pricey side but worth it for the quality. Sadly the portions I was just served for the money was daylight robbery. Shocking value for money.

Place looks good from the outside, nice a clean, good pricing displays and the staff were ok but I was really let down by the poor quality haddock I ordered. More batter than fish is a sure sign of less value for your money. The fish wasn't fresh and was chewy instead of the flaky tenderness I come to expect of a decent establishment. Chips were not bad and my friend who had the sausage and chips said his was ok so maybe I was just unlucky on the day, but I won't try them again.

Sooo good!! My first time having fish and chips and it was AMAZING!!! Fish is perfectly cooked, chips are chrispy outside and very soft inside. Portion is very big; two regular cods and a small chips were more than enough for 3 adults☺️☺️☺️ Staffs are also super kind even though my English is very humble.

Finnegans has to be the best chip shop in town. Pay a bit more than some other places but the quality is amazing.

Fish was nice but chip portions were small for the price, taste is generic compared to other chip shops, was overall disappointed. Will not visit again.

I went in the restaurant and some ginger head guy shouted at me for no reason and kicked me out never going back to that chip shop again

We generally go the the shop in porthcawl as they do the best fish in the area. Here was no difference, fresh hot and tasty. Can't go wrong. Also the curry sauce is the best.

I have recently thought of getting fish and chips from Finnegans. I am a Muslim, which means I can only eat Halal food. I have asked if they can fry the fish and chips in a separate oil. Unfortunately they have said that they couldn’t, which I think is very unfair to the others which are different religions and so on.

Shocking . Bought the same for the past 3 weeks and had the chicken curry separate from the chips but tonight the manager refused and said I shouldn’t have been having them separate. Pathetic really what harm is it to have them separate. Spent over £35 and will not be back !!!!!

Fantastic food, fantastic service, polite and helpful even though it was packed, fish and sausages in batter, rissoles and fish cakes, chicken breast all cooked fresh and wonderful to eat I had the hot curry and that was also stunning, by far the best chippy in town. It was busy, really busy, but I was given my food within 5 mins of placing my order, nothing was missed even though I had a large order. It was only as I was leaving I realised you can click and collect. I would order in advanced next time because they was so busy I’m sure it would help them if I did order in advance. But fantastic staff and fantastic food and a pleasantly quick and pain free takeaway.

Fish and chips were spot on, very good 👍 unfortunately the mushy peas were luke warm.

Tasty food, slightly on the pricier side than other chip shops

Food is good, only draw back was the special offer, Saturday special is two jumbo sausage and 2 chips for £6, however when you go in they have sausage special on the wall which is different if you ask for sausage special you only get 1 jumbo, 1 chips, 1 side and 1 can, fortunatley staff changed order, however is very confusing due to signage in store.

I had 2 small sausage and a small chips witch was advertised inside at £4:30 but on the outside window was £3 I told them about the error and was told its got to be fixed when I tried to explain that its against the law to charge the hire price but advertise the lower I was told its not there fault in a very angry manner and the chips were hard and the battered sausage was so hard I nearly broke a tooth won't be going there again 😡

I Ordered fish and chips tonight from Finnegans Bryntirion, Saturday 18th as we’ve done many times. (Not good) Tried to contact Finnegans’s on the website to complain but no contact us link on the website. Both fish were so salty they were inedible. Very disappointing !!!

Disgusting, keep away. Chips in edible and tiny portion, curry sauce cold and fish tasteless. Complained and was told chips will go that colour if left in box, and we are a small family business so can't provide a high standard like big companies.!!!!!!

Visiting for a few days and fancied fish and chips so went to Finnegan's. The first thing that got me was the London prices in Bryntirion, and all for pale coloured, soft soggy chips with a piece of fish in batter like stretchy rubber. Probably the worst fish an chips I've had in a long, long time.

This has become my favourite chip shop. They have special deals daily. My fave is chips, large sausage, sauce/gravy and can drink £5

The fish and chips were really amazing and very tasty. The service was really good, staff were friendly and helpful. The prices were really reasonable. Would come again.

We normally have had excellent Whole fresh Cod fillet (White) in one piece. However, the practice has changed. In the picture below you will see up to 5 pieces of fish not sure of the type! This was grey and didn't taste fresh. I do "know" my fish as I started my working life in wholesale fish. We did complain and were offered a replacement - but who needs the round trip!. We have been told to call and specify whole Fillet for any future orders. Is this a case of Caveat Empty? Something Fishy me thinks.

Was told before hand that the chips was cooked separately and was gluten free. Go in today "yeah they're cooked in a separate fryer but not gluten free". The guy then explained to me "they use the same oil filtered from the fish etc so they're not guaranteed gluten free". How come I was told a few times before (I always called before I came) that they was gluten free no explanation no nothing just that they was before? Thank god I'm not coeliac but still very dangerous to give this miscommunication/ change. They should be stated as not gluten free at all if you're using the same oil as the fish etc. Shocking.

Want to say who ever was cooking the chips last night 13th July around 7pm omg they were amazing not like the soggy chips which I loath reminds me of my i use to love your chips, my daughter went to the wrong one so glad she did and loved the Irish curry sauce. Wish all your chippies was as a good chip like last night's.. cefn glas. Had a battered sausage at your porthcawl one near sea front before lock down what have you done the batter was like rubber not your thin crunchy batter take a leaf out of beals batter sausage was gutted. And thats not the only finneganns chippy batter that has changed.. when you won best chippy of the year at the broadlands be lovely if you went back to cooking the old ways and the queue were always so long ty 🙂
