Fifty Eight in Harborough

Just popped in for a coffee and discovered this little gem of a place. Will definitely be back one evening soon!

We were pleased with our visit to Fifty Eight. Service was very good, and the food was satisfactory. The Lamb Samosa were particularly good. The whole place is quite cold, at this time of year.

We had our daughters 30th birthday party here. The venue has a cosy atmosphere and the staff are both accommodating and very friendly and helpful A great night was had by all. To be highly recommended.

Great bar and restaurant; food is excellent and drinks and cocktails are expertly made! Lovely relaxed setting and ambience, and the staff are polite, friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend for date nights, special occasions and adult nights out.

Excellent food. First visit to MH was not disappointing. Choose many food options and share around is my recommendation. Select beers, but very good selections.

We don't live locally, but family are here, so like to wander into town on a Saturday afternoon for a bit of shopping and a glass of something! Spotted fifty eight and popped in for a cocktail and loved the feel of the place. Ended up having a couple of small plates too. Staff were lovely and attentive. The music was our favourite, just chilled country music. This is a hidden gem and so nice away from the hustle minutes away. Would definitely return for an evening visit

Food was fine though menu options rather limited. Odering in advance is a good idea then you can be sure all of your party can find something. Starters were good, main courses OK but not over generous, wines a little expensive. Ladies' toilet had a broken loo seat - with a hardware store almost next door this should have been quickly fixed!!! One of the waiters was rather surly and could have spoiled the evening.

We had a really lovely night in a welcoming and friendly environment! Food was really nice and reasonably priced. Super night out for a couple and very reasonable. Best meal I've had in a while.

From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a great evening. All the staff greeted us and wished us a happy anniversary and remained attentive all evening. The food and wine were excellent and the cocktails very tasty. The owner and staff succeeded in making us feel very special; thank you.

Beautiful! Great setting especially the outside area by the water. Fabulous people running this stunning place with great coffee, cocktails and food.

This place was lovely, the staff were so nice, the restaurant looks amazing, the food is great and so are the drinks! The stuff kept on top of empty glasses and bottles and we're constantly there to take them, and I know if we had any problems (which we didn't) they'd be there straight away ready to help too.

Many congratulations to Lisa, T & all the team. Your hard work over the last year to create such a welcoming oasis is very much appreciated. We have enjoyed the winter season with cosy candlelit drinks & nibbles & now we are looking forward to balmy evenings on the terrace. Thank you for your warm & generous hospitality.

Visited this cafe/restaurant this morning for a coffee and hopefully breakfast. Unfortunately they didn’t do breakfasts so we were quite disappointed, but not for long as they kindly offered to make us breakfast. Brilliant, the food was great the service above and beyond. Lovely place to sit in and relax, lovely atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back.

We don't normally go out too often in the evenings because of the kids, but occasionally we visit Fifty Eight. The venue is relaxing and decorated nicely, however, it can feel a bit chilly and warehouse like, not cosy and luxurious. We often sit at the large table near the bar which is tricky, as you cannot actually get your legs underneath it and often snag tights on the underside, very annoying. I had a meal here some months ago and it was delicious, it was part of a large group and I was impressed with the quality of food and the service of the waitress who remembered what everyone was having, and which wine belonged to which person. Impressive - especially from such a tiny kitchen. It also has a lovely little outdoor area out the back overlooking the river, the toilets are clean and there are great baby change facilities. My only gripe is the fact that the drinks prices do not reflect the venue, a round of drinks is a similar cost to what I paid at Burgh Island hotel (look it up, it's out of this world, highly exclusive). Recently I believe all drinks went up by 75p, a pint of Carlsberg was well over £6! It's not even a local fancy craft beer, just larger. I know there is a trend for fancy bars in Harborough, but you're going to start alienating people with your prices. I for one cannot afford to drink there anymore, and I know I'm not the only one. It's a shame as I want the bar to succeed, but the prices don't quite match the venue, it's not quite luxurious enough.

I have been to Fifty Eight on a few occasions for lunch and once for an evening event. I have found the service and food second to none and I would definitely recommend.

Just popped in for lunch great choices on the menu food was delicious and not overly expensive we will definitely be back.

The hostess was full of wit and charm, and promised a culinary night of delight beyond compare.Ambiance, chilled and relaxed, but surprisingly busy for the 3rd of January.Food, delish: starter spicy chicken bites, main: beef crumble, warming with deliciously crunchy vegetables and the apple pudding was unctuous and tarty.5 stars.. best eat out in Harbs

Look nice on entry though lacks slightly on atmosphere one inside especiallythe back room. Limited menu which is fine if everything on it is good unfortunately it wasnt. I ordered the pork it was all fat, salt and almost inedible. Served with over salted chips and only 1 brocolli stem. It needed more veg to dilute the plate of fat and salt i was served. I would not return or recommend this restaurant

I visited here on a Saturday afternoon for drinks with the family and I can honestly say this is one of the nicest bars in Market Harborough. The staff are friendly and attentive and the cocktails (made with top shelf alcohol) are fantastic and professionally made. Definitely worth a visit!

Very good food, good atmosphere and excellent service

Just enjoyed an amazing Sunday Lunch! My husband and I started with the mackerel pate, followed by lamb, couscous, feta and green beans, finishing with a beautiful banoffee pie. The owners of the restaurant have a strong belief in sustainability, so the menu can vary slightly depending on what food they have left over - they do not believe in throwing food away, which I think is fantastic. Our meals were very tasty, some of the best food we have had in a long time. We can highly recommend!

The service we received was excellent,did not have to wait, long enough for food to be freshly cooked. Quite a short menu, but varied, vegetarian options and not too spicy.

Visited as a party of 8 Thursday 31st October. We pre-ordered as requested for parties of 6 or more. There were a couple of special dietary requirements.

Hidden off the main road, but worth trying to find! We had a warm welcome followed by friendly, efficient service all evening. A very limited menu (so MAYBE not suitable for all) but evrything very well cooked and well presented. A lively, but not rowdy atmosphere enhanced the occasion.

The warmest welcome in town, 58 is an oasis of calm nestled in the heart of Market Harborough. Owners & manager Jess work tirelessly to make everyone feel welcome & accommodated, giving you the impression you are dropping in on old friends.

I went on a Sunday when there was a live band at lunch time. Great music. The food on offer was simple, a mezzé platter. As I don't eat meat I had a lovely choice of salades and fish paté with warm flat bread and crusty baguette.

A warm and welcoming yet sophisticated bar/restaurant. Very attentive staff. Superb food and wine. And by far the best lager (Porreti) available in Market Harborough. Quite unique in the town.

This is our second visit to Fifty eight. This time we brought our friends who had never been before. The food was excellent, as was the service.

Spotted this place while shopping in Market H. Lovely inside and nice little terrace to use outside on a sunny day. Had the anti pasti sharing platter which was very nice. Staff were friendly and welcoming - so nice we went back next day when arts festival was on! Worth a visit if you're in town.

One of my favourite places to visit in Harborough for drinks, the whole place is kept clean and tidy, the drinks are great and the staff are so friendly and make you feel so at home. Jess behind the bar is an absolute asset and always gives us great recommendations and always goes above and beyond! Great work!

The experience was wonderful as a whole, the food was fantastic and the staff were lovely, I felt at ease the whole time. Great value for money!

A scorching bank holiday Sunday lunchtime is probably not the best time to fill a bar, but number 58 always creates an atmosphere and did not disappoint. The live music from Hatstand was fabulous and there was a real buzz from a healthy mix of diners, drinkers, snackers and music fans. Always a treat.

We visited 58 this evening, Friday 28th June. We had been along st Mary’s road and seen the sign a few times and one of our friends had visited just for a drink and described the food as looking ‘beautiful’ so we were determined to give it a try.

WE were a party of ten, including four children under seven. Food and service were great. We will certainly be back.

I don't understand why this bistro restaurant has been rated so highly given the limited food choices it has to offer on its evening menu and how dull and uninspiring the dishes proved to be.

Short list of meals and wines but each one very well chosen. Our three courses were all well cooked and presented and tastey. There are more dishes we want to try so will be back

This is a gorgeous venue, perfect for meeting friends or making new ones. Service is always good & staff knowledgeable with both the food menu & wines available. It's a pleasure to pop in & chill out.

This is a beautiful looking business with a lovely vibe. Went for a late Saturday lunch and although we missed out on the great sounding (substantial) specials we chose the pear & blue cheese salad and some fig & walnut bread. The salad was excellent, as was the coffee. They have a great selection of alcohol too, 3 nice draft beers and lots of interesting spirits.

Great lunch time food well presented. Good value. Good service. Will go back again and will try evening and Sunday lunch menu.

Visited number 58 again yesterday; this time just for a coffee and a hot chocolate. We usually go for the wine and occasional live music. Every time we get a warm welcome and great service. Always a good atmosphere whatever the day or time. And the best coffee cups ever!

Hen party of 11, superb service, fantastic tasty and hot food, warm welcome . Highly recommend it here. All the staff are lovely. Have booked to go back this week with my parents

We visited 58 as a group of four on a busy Saturday night having been in for drinks previously. The ambience and service is/was great, even at busy times, and the staff know their stuff. Some people have mentioned that the menu is a little limited and very structured, but, this focuses the venue on QUALITY and quality it is! The range of wines is very sensible and easy to navigate - I'm a wine lover and enjoyed the options. The cocktails are "grown up" and well done and the beer choices are great. The food was very well thought out, prepared and cooked, and yes it's not an extensive menu, but the venue is only a month or so old and if our visit was anything to go by, they're going to do well!

Really nice bar, great staff. sharing platter was delicious, fantastic live band on, will be on once a month on a Sunday so definitely going back to see the next! Went for an evening meal on a separate occasion, fantastic food!

Had a superb light Sunday lunch of starters and desert as we weren't in the mood for a big meal, (although they looked amazing). The attention to detail in taste and presentation was top notch, and the experience was enhanced by attentive, friendly staff and great live music. We will be back - soon!

Although there was a limited menu, all of the dishes that we had were superb - would recommend the lamb. The ambience was very nice and our waitress was very attentive and we were well looked after throughout the evening. We would definitely return.

What a welcome addition to Market Harborough's growing collection of wine bars/eateries.

Having seen the sign on St Mary’s Road that Fifty Eight was open, we decided to pop in for lunch. It was a short menu, but there was plenty on it that we liked, with homemade cakes as well. We had an open pastrami sandwich and a prosciutto, pear and roquefort salad, with pots of tea. It was very nice. They also sell wine, beer and cocktails, which we will have to try next time. Speaking to the staff, we were told that they will be opening for dinner service, hopefully, towards the end of the month. The place is unusual in that it looks like it was previously a workshop or garage, but it adds to the character.
