Enjoyed the smashed avocado, feta and poached egg on toast with fresh orange and cappuccino for mid morning breakfast. Superb food and well worth the money. Welcomed in by bright and breezy staff, prompt service with a smile. Only taken a star as the coffee wasn’t as good as my go to coffee shop. With defo visit again when in town.

I was recommended this place & the French toast - both were recommendations I took up and the French toast was incredible. Had to queue outside to get a table but that only meant it was a good brunch spot and we were sat quickly as a group of 2. Coffee was great too.

Really disappointed with how pressured and rushed we were made to feel with our food this morning. The food was delicious but sadly felt like we had to rush it due to it being so busy. I have been here previously but went to the Northern Quarter branch and had no issues with being rushed there. It is a shame as it is such a nice place just very rude and unprofessional we had waitresses giving us dirty looks and the side eye pressuring us to leave it was horrible.

Visited the Peter Street shop with friends who were visiting Manchester for the first time. The food and coffee was unreal and although there was a short wait, the host Liv was really kind, friendly and looked after me and my friends.

Great place for breakfast. The veggie breakfast with broccoli, avocado and mushrooms is very tasty. The coffee is top notch too. It's always busy, but they do takeaway if you're in a hurry.

Went for the breakfast and it was as expected: very good! Make sure to come early or to book a table (I don’t know if they take reservations) because it can take some time to get a table. Of course there are several vegetarian and vegan options as well as gluten-free!

Went to this place with my partner to start the day. Had to queue for 5 minutes outside, but it was a Saturday, so this was to be expected. I got the omelette with a side of toast and hash browns. All of it was delicious! And the pistachio mocha was one of the best hot drinks I've ever had. I could have easily drank a bucket of it. 😋 Yes, it's pricey, but for a reason. Will definitely be back.

We queued a bit for Ezra and Gil but worth the wait overall. Staff friendly and very quick. Self service in terms of ordering at the bar and getting yourself water, fine I guess. Chorizo and Halloumi pancakes were absolutely amazing, couldn’t fault them but my friend got the Calamarata pasta and the portion was embarrassingly meagre for £13.50. He finished a good ten minutes before I did. Lovely experience but wouldn’t rush back.

Extremely disappointing. We came here after a recommendation. Waited in the queue after being told it was a 25 minute wait. We waited outside on the street for 25 minutes only to be then told it was another 30 minutes, meaning we wasted time and then did not have enough time to get breakfast before our train home. Won’t be coming again.

Went for a brunch and the food was great but tiny portions 13.50£ for eggs Benedict but only one slice of toast is criminal. The food was good but I won’t go back again when there’s plenty of other place offering the same for under 10£. You also have to order at the till yourself and we were sat at the very back next to the toilets so wasn’t too ambient.matcha latte comes in a tiny cup that’s not appropriate for lattes I wouldn’t recommend either and plastic cups for water is a bit juvenile.

Abbie greeted us at the door and took our names in the such a hospitable way that it set the tone - queueing outside is never that nice. This place has a really nice vibe inside - I wanted everything on the menu! Food was superb, service outstanding and will be back next time we’re in Manchester!

I'm an out of towner and we went to this breakfast/brunch spot on a visit to Manchester and were completely blown away by this place! Everything was exceptional! The staff/the service/the atmosphere, decor (including the attention to detail) and especially the food! The Salmon eggs Benedict might be one of the best I've ever eaten as everything was cooked to perfection with an excellent hollandaise sauce! My friends had the butternut on toast which was also very tasty. They offer freshly squeezed orange juice as well. There was no fault we could find and I'd HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place for anyone on a visit to Manchester! I'd just book a table in advance though as this place is very popular and one may need to wait.

First experience with a Sausage Buttie, absolutely delicious

Ezra and gill is one our favourite places in Manchester for breakfast/brunch with lots of different options including eggs, pancakes etc. staff are super friendly and service is quick. The only downside is how busy it can get where you have to queue. One suggestion though - the smoothies are great, but having an option to add a scoop of protein would be awesome.

Herrrrreeeee ats one class coffee shop like. ngl, didn't have food so idk bout none ee at but was in a poo mood and the service was class, abs turned my day round! The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing coffee break or a casual hangout. The staff are genuinely friendly and attentive, adding a personal touch to the service that enhances the overall experience. However, the coffee portion sizes are on the smaller side, which might leave some coffee enthusiasts wanting more. Additionally, while the desserts look appealing, the one I tried was unfortunately not very fresh and had a stiff texture that made it less enjoyable to eat. Overall, Ezra & Gil Café is a lovely spot with great potential, especially if they improve their dessert quality and adjust their coffee portions.

My friend recommended me to have a try. I ordered e&g breakfast bowl, smoked salmon Benedicts and gingerbread matcha (December special). Salmon Benedict is my favorite: the eggs are properly cooked, salmon is fresh and sourdough toast is tasty. However, I don’t wanna try the gingerbread matcha again. The combination is soooo weird! Except for this, the service is nice and atmosphere is relaxing.

A very charming spot to enjoy brunch, with a lovely atmosphere and kind service. We ordered the Sausage Sandwich and Eggs Benedict with ham. The food was quite tasty, though the portions were a bit small. I was hoping for more vegetables in the dishes. I understand that the UK relies on imported fresh produce, but adding something simple like cucumber or tomato on the side would have been a nice touch. Other than that, everything was very pleasant 🙂

An overrated place. Gets very busy, lengthy queues to order food, time limits on tables (asked to leave after sitting down for an hour) and the food isn’t great - just put together without much attention to how it tastes and not very enjoyable. Seems to benefit from its reputation and it was genuinely good in the past but has gone due hill and there are much better places in Manchester now.

I was extremely disappointed with my recent visit to Ezra. My pregnant friend and I requested to be moved to a lower table as the high seating was uncomfortable and unsuitable for her condition, and we wanted to order food. Unfortunately, the staff refused to accommodate this simple request, opting to give the next available table to someone who had just come in. leaving us no choice but to leave without ordering. The lack of understanding and flexibility was disappointing and showed little regard for customer comfort or needs. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone expecting a considerate dining experience. I use to love this place but It seem to have have lost its sparkle and now is a dull imitation of what it once was.

Went in for a warm drink, great staff and atmosphere. Will go back for food without a doubt.

A famous brunch stop in Manchester especially for weekends, we went on Saturday and waited for around 30mins but was totally worth it We tried avocado toast and fruit and yogurt pancakes for brunch Coconut ice matcha was so good, you should probably try it 👌🏻

I had a simple breakfast of sourdough toast and a flat white. The menu though was extensive and looking at other customers' plates looked delicious. Portions were generous, served with a smile and coffee was good.

I had a very disappointing experience here. I ordered the Tropic Like It's Hot smoothie, which tasted unpleasant—more like yogurt with little fruit flavor. When I requested a replacement, I was charged for the new drink and denied a refund for the original smoothie, which I’d only had one sip of. Given the high price (£4.90 for a small glass), it felt like a waste. The king prawn poke bowl was also underwhelming, lacking flavor and overly heavy on sriracha mayo. The service was equally disappointing. We were told we could keep our table for an hour and a half but were asked to leave after only an hour. Overall, I left feeling unsatisfied - I expected better service and quality, and won’t be returning.

The food was below average though good presentation . The hot chocolate is delicious ☕️ the seating area is weirdly divided and the seats are not comfortable. The atmosphere is noisy. I hope they improve the seating area and the quality of food.

I'm not surprised this place gets very busy with people queuing outside waiting for a table. From breakfast onwards there's a constant queue & when we arrived at about 1.15pm we had to wait about ten minutes for a table. Mind you after we had ordered you can see why. The staff are friendly and efficient, the food was delicious and the drinks excellent. Well worth going to & if you are able I recommend that you book a table/time slot. That's what we'll do the next time we go.

Discovered through a page on the city of Manchester on Instagram, we delighted in a spectacular breakfast during a weekend in this beautiful city. After a short queue, we were welcomed into the restaurant with extreme warmth by the staff and we ordered directly at the cash register (I recommend also admiring the delicious dessert display case). We chose to taste a SPECTACULAR porridge and a savory breakfast, paired with a coffee and a cappuccino to also taste their coffee. We highly recommend this place, our palate was regenerated by this incredible breakfast!

The breakfast is nice but food portions are small and prices are high. £4 to add bacon is slightly ridiculous in my opinion. Desserts looked great but were all slightly dry (ay least the ones we tried). Nice atmosphere/decor. Friendly enough staff although service at the counter was slightly slow. Coffee was good. Overall decent place to try, would go for a coffee again but probably not food.

Whilst I’m sure some people have a great experience here, mine was awful. It took ages to get seated and then we weren’t sat so much as directed to a table without being told how to order or what to do so we waited for ages before realising it wasn’t table service. I am gluten free and despite being assured there were options, the waiter who ‘sat us’ said there’s an allergen sheet on the back of the menu when I asked for a gluten free menu. This of course said that everything had gluten in it because it wasn’t broken down into ingredients just whole meals. I decided to just order hash browns and some mushrooms because it seemed like that was all I could have but was then told I was not allowed to just order extras. We were here for about half an hour in total and ended up leaving in frustration. Avoid if you have any allergies!

Good food but certain things were over priced. For example £2.50 for ‘half a cup of tea’ not even a pot and an additional £4.00 to add bacon to a ‘classic breakfast’ is ridiculous in my opinion.

Had some amazing food here before, but this time my omelette was way overcooked. Ingredients and juice are really good. Also table service would be better, if you want more juice midway through your breakfast, you have to go queue at the counter again.

What a shame. Visited on Manchester and hoped to treat ourselves to a breakfast here. Massive queue on Sunday so came back on Monday. Well, what a disappointment. We ordered the classic ‘E&G’ breakfast and, honestly, we could have eaten better at Wetherspoons. The eggs had obviously caught in the pan and were burnt and overcooked. There was mud on my mushrooms which had already just been boiled in a pan. Tinned beans, shop bought hash browns. Will not be visiting again and cannot understand what the hype is about.

A very lovely place, the staff ladies are so nice. Food is served fast, and the bathroom is very clean. We had brunch there before our wedding ceremony, it was a really nice experience, will definitely go again.

An extensive range of menu options on offer, from all-day breakfast to lunch and dinner. We had to wait 5—10 minutes for a table and chose to sit outside because it was a very sunny day. My smoked salmon eggs Benedict was tasty and filling, and my friend really enjoyed her pasta. This chain often has a queue of people outside, and I can see why: good food and service make this a crowd-pleasing staple.

Service is a little slow - but it was a Sunday. 2 seater tables some of which should be just for 1 . The music is too loud for a cafe/restaurant. Food is very good 👍🏼

Very nice coffee shop. Coffee was good, and there were lots of GF/VG cakes on offer. Some of the regular cakes were a little on the dry side, though. Some outside seating and inside was quite big. Good for those who require wheelchair accessibility, too.

The queuing arrangement was careless. We waited in line for 30 minutes. There was an employee checking in during the process, but they even arranged for people in line behind us to be seated. It turned out that they didn't register us.

Been coming here for a while and has become one of my favourite coffee shops in Manchester including my partners. It can be busy but for good reason, coffee is great, staff are lovely, food is nice and the vibes good! Also come here to do my work so the internet is great too 👌🏻

Had breakfast here today with the wife. We were sat in the window which was perfect for some people watching as we sat and ate. The wife had a hot chocolate and myself a mocha both extremely tasty. The wife had the brioche French toast which was delicious and I had the eggs Benedict with some extra mushrooms. The eggs were perfect and the ham very tasty. The price for 2 drinks and 2 breakfasts which were both very filling was great value for money. Would definitely visit again.

Tasty but a long wait... The wait can be less if the staff logistically arrange themselves: offer the menu to ppl in the queue so they're ready with their order & to make every available table covered rather than sitting empty in front of the queue (we were wiping for 20mins, 10mins of that was seeing all 10 external seats empty! To than seeing about 4tables free inside also!)

We came here as a large group (10 people) after getting married at the registry office and the team were so accommodating. Shout out to Chelsea and Aneta who helped arrange this for us - everyone was so impressed with the food and service and they made it so special for us!

Wonderful independent spot close to conference centre area. Porridge so good I took a bite before taking a photo. Oh, and SUPERB coffee

Loved this place. Stayed at hotel 47 next door (not impressed with that) and went Ezra and Gil for afternoon lunch and so impressed went for breakfast following morning. Friendly and efficient staff, beautiful food and a really lovely relaxed vibe. I don't live in Manchester or I would be there all the time!

This was a verrrryyyy popular location. Arrived around 11am on a Friday and the only seating remaining was outside. Thankfully, the weather was brilliant! Food was good all around and requests were catered for (marscapone on the side). The downside was that a French press coffee arrived quite a bit after food, though it was tasty when it did eventually arrive.

Kept going back it was that good! I had breakfast here a couple of times whilst working in Manchester. A great location that makes it a convenient stop before work or before starting your day in the city. Food, coffee and staff were all excellent.

Five of us went here for breakfast sat outside and when it began to rain the staff were so friendly and lovely and sat us inside in a booth which was lovely! The coffee was amazing and the fresh orange juice was perfect! We all had pancakes and they were incredible I couldn’t recommend this place more!! Definitely worth a visit for a good breakfast!! Service was fast, drinks came out fast and so did the food!!
