The food was really good and a reasonable price too, will be back.

I'm not surprised this place gets very busy with people queuing outside waiting for a table. From breakfast onwards there's a constant queue & when we arrived at about 1.15pm we had to wait about ten minutes for a table. Mind you after we had ordered you can see why. The staff are friendly and efficient, the food was delicious and the drinks excellent. Well worth going to & if you are able I recommend that you book a table/time slot. That's what we'll do the next time we go.

Discovered through a page on the city of Manchester on Instagram, we delighted in a spectacular breakfast during a weekend in this beautiful city. After a short queue, we were welcomed into the restaurant with extreme warmth by the staff and we ordered directly at the cash register (I recommend also admiring the delicious dessert display case). We chose to taste a SPECTACULAR porridge and a savory breakfast, paired with a coffee and a cappuccino to also taste their coffee. We highly recommend this place, our palate was regenerated by this incredible breakfast!

The breakfast is nice but food portions are small and prices are high. £4 to add bacon is slightly ridiculous in my opinion. Desserts looked great but were all slightly dry (ay least the ones we tried). Nice atmosphere/decor. Friendly enough staff although service at the counter was slightly slow. Coffee was good. Overall decent place to try, would go for a coffee again but probably not food.

Whilst I’m sure some people have a great experience here, mine was awful. It took ages to get seated and then we weren’t sat so much as directed to a table without being told how to order or what to do so we waited for ages before realising it wasn’t table service. I am gluten free and despite being assured there were options, the waiter who ‘sat us’ said there’s an allergen sheet on the back of the menu when I asked for a gluten free menu. This of course said that everything had gluten in it because it wasn’t broken down into ingredients just whole meals. I decided to just order hash browns and some mushrooms because it seemed like that was all I could have but was then told I was not allowed to just order extras. We were here for about half an hour in total and ended up leaving in frustration. Avoid if you have any allergies!

Good food but certain things were over priced. For example £2.50 for ‘half a cup of tea’ not even a pot and an additional £4.00 to add bacon to a ‘classic breakfast’ is ridiculous in my opinion.

Had some amazing food here before, but this time my omelette was way overcooked. Ingredients and juice are really good. Also table service would be better, if you want more juice midway through your breakfast, you have to go queue at the counter again.

Great spot for breakfast, friendly staff, great coffee, wide range of breakfasts. The granola , avo on toast and eggs Benedict were top.

What a shame. Visited on Manchester and hoped to treat ourselves to a breakfast here. Massive queue on Sunday so came back on Monday. Well, what a disappointment. We ordered the classic ‘E&G’ breakfast and, honestly, we could have eaten better at Wetherspoons. The eggs had obviously caught in the pan and were burnt and overcooked. There was mud on my mushrooms which had already just been boiled in a pan. Tinned beans, shop bought hash browns. Will not be visiting again and cannot understand what the hype is about.

A very lovely place, the staff ladies are so nice. Food is served fast, and the bathroom is very clean. We had brunch there before our wedding ceremony, it was a really nice experience, will definitely go again.

40 minutes waiting time for our breakfast

An extensive range of menu options on offer, from all-day breakfast to lunch and dinner. We had to wait 5—10 minutes for a table and chose to sit outside because it was a very sunny day. My smoked salmon eggs Benedict was tasty and filling, and my friend really enjoyed her pasta. This chain often has a queue of people outside, and I can see why: good food and service make this a crowd-pleasing staple.

Service is a little slow - but it was a Sunday. 2 seater tables some of which should be just for 1 . The music is too loud for a cafe/restaurant. Food is very good 👍🏼

Very nice coffee shop. Coffee was good, and there were lots of GF/VG cakes on offer. Some of the regular cakes were a little on the dry side, though. Some outside seating and inside was quite big. Good for those who require wheelchair accessibility, too.

The queuing arrangement was careless. We waited in line for 30 minutes. There was an employee checking in during the process, but they even arranged for people in line behind us to be seated. It turned out that they didn't register us.

They have cinnamon French toast, very delicious 10/10 The egg and avocado sourdough is also delicious, 9/10

Been coming here for a while and has become one of my favourite coffee shops in Manchester including my partners. It can be busy but for good reason, coffee is great, staff are lovely, food is nice and the vibes good! Also come here to do my work so the internet is great too 👌🏻

Ezra £& Gil Café offers a charming atmosphere that makes for a pleasant experience from the moment you walk in. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing coffee break or a casual hangout. The staff are genuinely friendly and attentive, adding a personal touch to the service that enhances the overall experience. However, the coffee portion sizes are on the smaller side, which might leave some coffee enthusiasts wanting more. Additionally, while the desserts look appealing, the one I tried was unfortunately not very fresh and had a stiff texture that made it less enjoyable to eat. Overall, Ezra & Gil Café is a lovely spot with great potential, especially if they improve their dessert quality and adjust their coffee portions.

Fantastic - great quality and great service

Had breakfast here today with the wife. We were sat in the window which was perfect for some people watching as we sat and ate. The wife had a hot chocolate and myself a mocha both extremely tasty. The wife had the brioche French toast which was delicious and I had the eggs Benedict with some extra mushrooms. The eggs were perfect and the ham very tasty. The price for 2 drinks and 2 breakfasts which were both very filling was great value for money. Would definitely visit again.

Tasty but a long wait... The wait can be less if the staff logistically arrange themselves: offer the menu to ppl in the queue so they're ready with their order & to make every available table covered rather than sitting empty in front of the queue (we were wiping for 20mins, 10mins of that was seeing all 10 external seats empty! To than seeing about 4tables free inside also!)

The porridge was delicious and creamy!

We ate very well, finally something different from the usual burgers with chips. The soup of the day is excellent

We came here as a large group (10 people) after getting married at the registry office and the team were so accommodating. Shout out to Chelsea and Aneta who helped arrange this for us - everyone was so impressed with the food and service and they made it so special for us!

Wonderful independent spot close to conference centre area. Porridge so good I took a bite before taking a photo. Oh, and SUPERB coffee

The food is delicious and the service is great, but I hope to work on improving the interior decoration and lighting because it is uncomfortable, old, uninviting and dark.

Cool vibes, good food, great coffee

Loved this place. Stayed at hotel 47 next door (not impressed with that) and went Ezra and Gil for afternoon lunch and so impressed went for breakfast following morning. Friendly and efficient staff, beautiful food and a really lovely relaxed vibe. I don't live in Manchester or I would be there all the time!

This was a verrrryyyy popular location. Arrived around 11am on a Friday and the only seating remaining was outside. Thankfully, the weather was brilliant! Food was good all around and requests were catered for (marscapone on the side). The downside was that a French press coffee arrived quite a bit after food, though it was tasty when it did eventually arrive.

Kept going back it was that good! I had breakfast here a couple of times whilst working in Manchester. A great location that makes it a convenient stop before work or before starting your day in the city. Food, coffee and staff were all excellent.

This restaurant is on the list of the 15 nicest breakfast places and rightly so! You have to be prepared to wait outside if things are not going well, but it is worth it. Friendly service and excellent dishes! Lots of choice! Highly recommended!

Five of us went here for breakfast sat outside and when it began to rain the staff were so friendly and lovely and sat us inside in a booth which was lovely! The coffee was amazing and the fresh orange juice was perfect! We all had pancakes and they were incredible I couldn’t recommend this place more!! Definitely worth a visit for a good breakfast!! Service was fast, drinks came out fast and so did the food!!

My regular cafe to go a lot! Staffs are smart and nice. Coffee good, food always a make my day. The only thing to make it 4 stars only is the atmosphere there, too dark but depends on what you expect to do there! After all, a good place to sit down with friends for day out!

Whenever I come to Manchester, this is my go-to place, never lets me down. I usually go to their first one in northern quarters, but this closer to where I stay can't be faulted price or quality

I'm a vegetarian and was desperate for some good quality food for my breakfast. I did a search and got a great feeling about Ezra & Gil. The first morning I had the smashed avocado on sourdough with poached egg and feta. Beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The second morning, after The Killers, and with a raging sore throat, I had Greek Yoghurt with granola and fruit. Delicious, again, beautifully presented and soothed my throat! This wonderful place is rustic, creative, with a warm atmosphere and a great vibe. We'll definitely be back! 🤗

Busy when we arrived so we had to wait for a table - understandable. Good food, quite pricey but quality was very good. Unfortunately latte milk lacked texture. Only other criticism - staff working on the floor could see we were ready to order but we had to ask to find out whether orders were taken at the table or the counter.

Excellent place to get breakfast. Was sat by the window where we enjoyed some amazing food. Was a small mistake with my order where they made me a cappuccino instead of a cup of tea, not sure why I wasn't refunded the difference as the cappuccino was more expensive. Even so I will return.

Nice place to sit and watch the world go by. Watch the prices of the pastry and cakes, not great but very expensive.

A good place to catch up with some friends of coffee and food. They close by 8 pm so make sure you are there in time. We could only order coffee as we reached there just before the closing time. The service and ambience was very good. Will visit again to try something from their food menu.

Called in mid afternoon on a week day and got seated straight away, and having had a chance to view and sample the menu I can see why there are sometimes queues at peak times. The place has a very laid back vibe, with interior design to match, the menu is comprehensive in terms of range of choice and a bonus option of being able to take away too (there is a 'grab and go' chiller with some amazing sandwiches in). We stayed for coffee and cake, as it was the end of our visit to the city, wishing we had dipped inside earlier in our stay. The place has a relatively small frontage, which doesn't match the interior which goes back quite a way from the street. There are some carefully chosen grocery options to buy too. Will definitely be returning, and with having plant based eaters in our party, we will do so confident that everybody will find something to satisfy their taste buds!

A big portion, so full! Some red pepper drops on top of the toast are a little spicy, some are surprisingly sweet!

Was recommended this restaurant by an employee of Federal Cafe Bar whilst I was waiting in their very long queue. I walked around the corner to check out the queue situation at Ezra & Gil and their queue was moving much quicker so opted to eat there instead. Ordered a smoothie (think it was called Purple Haze?), a hot chocolate, smoked salmon benedict and brioche french toast. The eggs were perfectly poached with runny yolks. The french toast was really nice too (for someone who doesn’t usually have a sweet tooth) especially with the vanilla mascarpone but slightly rich so would suggest sharing. Perhaps the thing I liked most about this restaurant though is that they provided steak knives instead of regular knives which made cutting through the toasted sourdough for my smoked salmon benedict a dream! The service was efficient and friendly, just how I like it.

Had brunch here yesterday. The staff were warm, friendly and helpful. Brought us, family of three, to the table and showed us how to place an order. Had flat white. Caught the wonderful aroma of coffee before the waiter reached us. The 'Nduja scrambled egg was fuffy with hints of hot spice. The classic E&G breakfast serving was generous. The sausages were deliciously tender & juicy. Mushrooms were wonderfully aromatic and juicy. The tomato was full of umanmi. The biscoff & banana pancakes was not too sweet, light & fluffy with toasty crumble...heavenly. E&G is etched in my regular dining list.

TLDR: Food is great, with a lot of choices! Brekkie is served till 5pm which is amazing for anyone with an appetite for eggs or nice sourdough. Has outdoor seating so perfect for the sunny Summer days! Recommendations: Chocolate chai and beans (and cheese) on sourdough toast. The food quality at Ezra & Gil is fantastic, and so are the drinks. I also think the staff are super friendly, and seem to be really nice to everyone who enters (whether you’re popping in for a full brunch, or just grabbing a coffee to go). They have a detailed menu, but don’t seem to provide a drinks menu to refer to when you’re sitting in. The tap water is self serve, but the cups occasionally leave residue in your water which is slightly off putting. Otherwise, everything’s pretty neat.

Looked amazing, but sadly my poached egg was over cooked, so not runny… and my streaky bacon was undercooked. Everything else delicious but I feel they should be getting these 2 things perfect every single time ?!

So far, my favourite brunch in Manchester. Latte smells very nice and it tastes nice too. Salmon on bread and french toast are equally good! 😊

Good range of vegetarian options along with some packed sandwiches to take away. There are chips/wafers, Sourdough bread and chocolates near the counter for take away.

This review is long overdue. We love this place after many visits over the years, I felt the need to make sure people don’t miss out. We have celebratory breakfasts here on most special occasion and it never disappoints. The food is on point, service is friendly and it just has such a family feel. Alison on our last visit 10 April 2034 really made us feel very welcome and respected customers. I would highly recommend you check this place out for a breakfast or brunch! Easily best place in Manchester. Good luck with the expansion across the north west. Do what you do in Manchester and for sure it will be a success. Thanks for having us and we will undoubtedly be back for a chocolate chai and the kinder pancakes!!

It was really good! Very indulgent, rich, and varied. Coffee was good too, if a little flat.

Popped her for breakfast early on a Sunday morning, a few people there already but still plenty of seating available. Food was varied - eggs, meats, full English, pancakes, pastries, fresh fruit/veg, pantry items - and all looked delicious. I had njuda scrambled eggs on toast and it was lovely! The space is also extremely inclusive which I'm a big fan of. Would definitely come back here again when in Manchester.

Stopped in for a solo breakfast and the latte and Chorizo & Sweet Potato Hash Eggs Benedict were both phenomenal. Highly recommend 👌🏼

Queued 15mins to get in. Friendly staff. Food arrived fast. Prices of items are expensive for amount and quality of the food served. Atmosphere and location is great. Worth a visit but personally wouldn’t queue for the food.

Trendy brunch location in very central spot in the City, barely minutes from the central library and several landmark buildings. All the brunch options you'd expect, served well.

The food was amazing - we got the sourdough pumpkin with poached egg and halloumi and the brioche french toast and both were to die for!!! Aneta was so lovely and warm as well :) Will 10000% go back!

Bacon sandwich is literally fatty bacon and two pieces of dry bread...the rest looked good
