The menu is boring with a very limited selection of tapas: there was no tortilla available or paella for example, usually the staples of any Tapas restaurant. The food we ordered was greasy and tasteless. The service although friendly and polite was indifferent, only being offered ketchup and mayonnaise 10 minutes after receiving the main courses. Wouldn’t bother going here again. Very disappointing.

Lovely food and amazing atmosphere and great cocktails. We always feel a bit like we’re on holiday when we go, the music and food is very authentic. Under new management too who are lovely and friendly. Highly recommend for food or even just drinks.

It’s so nice to have a great Tapas bar back, popped in for drinks and a couple of light plates. The new management are so friendly, the tapas was very tasty and I look forward to returning and trying out the full menu very soon.

Family run, no nonsense, nice atmosphere, inexpensive, home cooked... it’s a great place! Doesn’t catch the eye from the outside, but 100% worth a visit. Will be going back (often).

Great food, friendly service and we had a great time which is a tonic after many months of lockdown. Raul, Veronica and William were very welcoming and a breath of fresh air on Arthur Road which we sorely need. We look forward to coming back on a regular basis.

I had been to most of the other cafes along that road but not this one. Upon entering I did not get the impression of somewhere that was up to the minute; rather floundering in a past of 1990s salsa (I am sure I once had the DVD that was playing in the background; perhaps we all did, around 1994), outdated perceptions and sketches of Spain. Coffee was ok but that is about it.

I had lunch at this place today. Service was OK and I sat outside in the sunshine which was nice. Apart from that the food was far below average! Especially the prawn cocktail was terrible. I would never eat here again. Don't know how this place survives serving this kind of bad quality food.

I’m lactose and yeast intolerant. Next time, I’ll get a Greggs cheese sandwich. Awful food that was only matched by the service. Please, for the sake of the proprietor’s health, leave him in peace. Don’t disturb him with the inconvenience of a good order.

Very disappointing meal, service was atrocious and the quality of the food was as if it was heated in a microwave, save yourself and avoid this restaurant

Our residents’ association meets here for our AGM, as it’s friendly with a good range of tapas, and certainly preferable to some of the rather grim pubs nearby. You can probably get more authentic Spanish cuisine in central London, but for a suburban high street this fits the bill.

3 prawns were off and also 1 calamari not to mention the tasteless paella. Place was empty, I can understand why. This is not recommended until they employ a chef that can smell food which is off.

Great service from our regular waiter. But what happened. Oysters were not what they used to be . Portland clam dishwasher bland. Nice potatoes and carrots. Excellent house wine. But I miss my old esterella food. Hope it comes back.

Best bit about this meal was the Cava... as for the rest of it.. not up to much at all. To be honest you'd get better Tapas from Marks n Spencer's

We've eaten here several times and I love the quiet relaxed atmosphere, decoration, excellent service and supremely tasty food. There's a wide variety of dishes as you'd expect from a tapas menu and if truth be told, it can be a little potato heavy sometimes but the portions are generous and there's always something new to try. It's a gem and we're fortunate it's just down the road from us.

We enjoyed a tasty selection of tapas, with good friendly service, and at a very reasonable price. Ok - it's not glitzy, but it's authentic. Don't be put off by unfavourable reviews. This is a little treasure in a great location opposite Wimbledon Park tube station.

We had ordered a Panini and an English breakfast. The baked beans have definitely been spoiled and turned sour. Instead of an excuse the guy (1-man show, cook as well) reacted angry. Panini tasted different than expected, low quality and not as described in the menu. It was an unbelievable experience. I wish I would have seen the other bad reviews here before we went there. DO NOT GO THERE!!!

This is positively the worst food experience I have had in a very long time. Do NOT waste your time or money here, even if the prices and menu might seem appealing. Whomever waited on us, a man behind the bar, was incredibly rude and disinterested in our business. We stayed nonetheless, and ordered the pulpo and Spanish tortilla. Both awful! The pulpo looked like bad cat food, and tasted like it had just been thawed and doused with paprika and cloves. The Spanish Tortilla was burned in areas, and tasted like cardboard. We asked for olive oil to try and disguise the taste, and the same rude individual informed us the pulpo was already cooked in olive oil. He finally relented and brought us a small plastic container with, what appeared to be, cooking oil. There was not a soul in this place, which should have been our first clue. Surprised it has survived in Wimbledon. Please do not frequent this place, so it can peacefully go out of business!!

Went here after cycling back from London on Saturday. There was 5 of us. We got there and there was only I other couple of diners. We ordered with the waitress who struggled to understand. After an eternity the food arrived. We asked for bread and olives. After asking 5 times 5 slices of baguette turned up. When we asked for more bread we were told they had run out (it was 8pm). We asked for some more patatas bravas told they had run out of potatoes!!! We were all a bit disappointed. I believe this place has been open for a while. With service like this they will be shutting down

I saw this place looking for spanish restaurants in the area,as I was dying for a good tortilla de patatas.Im spaniard, from Madrid, and I have family from Valencia, so when I saw that they (or shall I say he?) Offered paella valenciana I couldn't resist. I also asked for spanish omelette. The sangria was diluted with water, the Spanish omelette had few pieces of potato and the onion was uncooked. But the best thing was just about to come, cause after that I had the honour to try my first spicy paella (I hardly can call it like that) ever.what did he put on there to make my mouth burn!curry??? I'll never know. The calamari was like a chewing gum,the rice passed, and full of spices that have nothing to do with my mum's cook.Absolutely disapointed,if you really want to enjoy auntentic spanish food, check la rueda in Clapham North, they have the best spanish meals I've ever tried in London.

We went there to celebrate my daughter's aupair last day. We were the only customers (unsurprisingly!). The sangria was decent, but the food was terrible. The tortilla was like a tasteless omelette, octopus was off, meatballs tasted funny, fried food was the worst fast food ever tasted...it was embarrassing, stay away from it!!!!

I walked past this restaurant and was excited after reading the menu as it had lots of dishes that reminded me of when I spent a few months living in Spain and that I hadn’t had a chance to eat for ages. Unfortunately the place didn’t live up to my expectations at all and I regret to say that it was so bad that I don’t think they can class what they served as Spanish food and I was worried that if I ate it I would get food poisoning. All the dishes we ordered I have eaten many times before so I know how they should taste. The octopus smelled so bad we could smell it before it came out into the restaurant and after tasting it we weren’t able to eat it so we sent it back. The garlic prawns were rock solid due to overcooking and the garlic and chilli oil that it should have been cooked in looked more like cloudy water and had no taste to it. The calamari was more than overcooked and I had the impression that it had been re-heated at least five times or had spent the past week simmering so that it had all life beaten out of it. It resembled an old boot not food so I didn’t eat that either. The patatas bravas had clearly been reheated at least once (if not more) and I think they were roast potatoes that they then fried to serve to us although these were the only edible thing we were served so I did eat them. The only saving grace with this restaurant is that it is cheap, but I am still dismayed that I had to pay for any of it. I am sad that it was so bad because I love Spain and Spanish food and I don’t think it should be associated with this. Don’t go here and please don’t let this put you off Spanish food because decent Spanish food is nothing like this.If the management of the restaurant read this I would very much like to hear their thoughts!

How disappointing! The food was dire! The tortilla was as flat as a pancake! The lamb cutlets were lamb chops with lots of fat and no flavour at all! The patatas bravas were reheated roast potatoes which had no insides! Everything except the salad was reheated or microwaved! I will never ever visit this restaurant again! I'm gutted we had to pay!

I really liked this restaurant. Some of the other reviews on this site baffle me as my experience was completely different. The food was surprisingly good, and the value for money was great. Good atmosphere and genuine spanish staff. Overall, a great place to eat dinner on special occasions, or for the casual drink.

The welcome was awkward. It felt like they were closing and not expecting us despite having made a reservation 1.5 hours in beforehand. The manager/ chef was a lovely man and advised us on order quantities, recommending us to order less as we were quite greedy. The food however was really poor. Under seasoned and not fresh. The patatas bravas were precooked and refried; the sauce lacked depth. The sardines were dry and lacked seasoning. The prawns and octopus were previously frozen. The asparagus came from a can ( I almost spit it out which would not have made a difference in terms of looks and consistency I hasten to add). In short - a cute cafe with good intentions, but failing in delivery. What a pity!

Last week I went to this restaurant near Wimbledon Park. Estella is one of the few restaurants in London where you can eat authentic Spanish food at great price; food is similar to other Spanish restaurants such as La Rueda in Clapham and El Camino in King Cross. The only difference is the price: Spanish omelet and patatas bravas are bigger and cheaper (patatas bravas’ sauce is delicious) in Estella, even you do not feel overwhelmed by staff awaiting tips. I like this restaurant because there is no service charge, the place is quiet and waitresses are friendly and respectful.

I travelled from Harrow to meet a friend (who travelled from Epsom) .. he has been through a bad time recently. We often eat at Tapas bars around London. We arrived at 2pm and friend had a Menu stating 3pm closure although the door said 2.30pm. We were informed that there was no more service.Would have loved to try their food but wont return, hardly a way ahead in business.
