My friends and I were thrilled to witness the reopening of Enfield’s Restaurant on a Thursday evening. The ambiance was distinctly French-themed, and the culinary experience exceeded our expectations. Every dish was meticulously prepared and left no trace on our plates. The students, guided by their tutor Alistair, exhibited utmost professionalism. Meanwhile, Sam, led the kitchen team, creating dishes that could rival those of a Michelin-starred establishment. I hope that Enfield’s open more frequently as I will be a regular visitor, tasting food of this exceptional quality every week!”

I visited Enfields Kitchen for their Christmas Dinner menu last week with work colleagues. This place is brilliant, the small but cosy dinning area creates a really lovely atmosphere. The staff were all brilliant, really attentive and friendly both on our arrival and throughout the evening. I had the ham hock starter, the salmon main and the apple and cranberry crumble pudding, all were delicious, the pudding had to be my favourite, one of the best I have had. I would highly recommend a visit to this place, the kitchen is within Gateshead College and is really near to Newcastle/Gateshead millenium bridge so very central to Newcastle and easy to get to. Just to add too they do also have a drinks license and the drinks aswell as the food are extremely reasonably priced.

Would recommend this hidden gem. Indulged in a delightful Christmas celebration at this restaurant for an after work meal. The value for money was exceptional, complemented by attentive service. There was a great selection and i had a delicious soup, succulent turkey and then a heavenly chocolate dessert. Mince pies, biscuits, and mints added a perfect festive touch.

We had a brilliant meal and could not fault any of the food that was served. I have tried a lot of sticky toffee puddings as this is my go to dessert, I went with my usual choice and have to say this was the best one I’ve ever had. We had 3 courses each and several soft drinks. The bill was under £15 each.We have paid double for similar style food for an individual main meal in other restaurants. We knew this was a trainee restaurant which was more apparent on front of house, as we didn’t see behind the scenes not sure how the chefs were doing but their food was faultless. The entire team was over looked by a faculty member of the college making sure the students were prompted for where they needed to be. Some of the team were clearly a lot newer to their role and probably had none or very little experience of working in a restaurant especially a fine dining restaurant which I think is their aim for standards. As long as you go in with this expectation of a trainee restaurant and are prepared to help the newer members along, allow them to make any mistakes and correct themselves. Let them fumble their lines a little as they clearly want to impress but are feeling the nerves as are out of their comfort zone. Then the price and the quality of food more than makes up for this. To encourage you to come back they also have a fantastic loyalty card. If I remember correctly I think your 6th visit is on the house. We have booked up to go again next month.

The food is excellent quality and at £6.50 for 3 courses at lunch time is amazing value. You get 3 choices of each course and tea or coffee. All for the price of what you would usually pay for a starter or dessert. You need to book in advance as it is really popular.

The meal was wonderful, had carrot and corriander soup, chicken breast chasseur sty!e with seasonal vegetables followed by banana fritters with butter scotch sauce, and coffee. The service was excellent would not have been better at a 5 star hotel. Many thanks will highly recommend to all my friends.

Had the pleasure of experiencing this hidden gem (as another reviewer so accurately described it) as part of a business event recently. The food was wonderful. The service exceptional. And at the heart are some of the most talented hospitality and catering young people this side of the Tyne. Can recommend.

Great three-course lunch for just £6.50! Brilliant service, quick turn around which was perfect for a lunch in the middle of a working day. I had pear and Enfields cheese salad, marinated chicken with an Asian slaw, side of mini roast potatoes, green beans and baby carrots and a strawberry cheesecake with strawberry ice cream to finish. YUM! This is a brilliant little restaurant and the added cherry on top is that you're helping budding chefs, caterers, hospitality staff and restaurant entrepreneurs of the future perfect their skills as it's all student-run (under the watchful eye of the college professional staff.) Highly recommended for a working lunch, business event or just a nice break from your desk.

Took my dad for a steak night as a father's day present and he was absolutely blown away by the food, though I have tried it before and knew how brilliant the quality was. Best steak I have EVER had and best cheesecake I have ever tried! Absolutely brilliant, couldn't recommend it anymore and at £14.50pp for 3 courses and a complimentary glass of wine/bottle of beer, you can't really complain.

Enfields Kitchen is tucked away in a little corner of Ofsted rated Outstanding, Gateshead College. If the students and staff which served us at the college are indicative of all staff and students then I am not surprised this is an Outstanding organisation. On arrival we were shown to our table. We were immediately offered water and asked if would like any other drinks. They do serve alcohol here! We were then given some home made bread which was still warm and absolutely delicious. For starter we all had Chicken Caesar Salad which was the bets any of us had ever tasted. One of my friends had ordered a Caesar Salad at The Ivy in London and said there was no comparison! To be honest it was so lovely I wish I had asked for a large portion and had this as a main course. The main was again we all selected the same and this was Beef Bourguigon which was served with a range of seasonal vegetables and boiled potatoes. It was divine and the beef just melted in your mouth! After eating this I had no room left for dessert, my friends ordered Sticky Toffee Pudding and it looked divine! My friends said it just melted in their mouths. The bill... for a 3 course meal my friends paid £6.50 and mine was £6 for two courses. I cannot believe the quality of food and the high level of service you get for this price. This is a must if you are travelling to Gateshead and want to go somewhere special for lunch.

! ! Un tesoro escondido en Gateshead. No puedo alabar lo suficiente! ! !

Had a fabulous Christmas lunch here. The food was superb and the service great. The turkey was the best I've eaten bar far. I appreciate the fact that all the food is cooked from scratch with fresh vegetables and home made desserts. Not many of the usual eating places provide this. The students do a marvellous job and it's nice to be part of their journey. The decor is nice and a bar is available. Fantastic value too! Thank you everyone. Merry Christmas.
