very nice food and really quick to come after pre ordering

Order took an hour and a half to come- when it did arrive my fish was not edible- it was like rubber,dry and cold. Chips were cold and curry sauce/gravy was cold too

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS AWFUL RESTAURANT!!! I made an order via deliveroo, and 2 hours later the order still never arrived. I rang the restaurant up and asked for a polite update, I was more than happy to wait a little longer for another order to be sent out or if it's easier to just get my refund, but THEY REFUSED TO GIVE A REFUND AND ACCUSED ME OF LYING!! They use separate delivery drivers so it's difficult for deliveroo to track if the order has been delivered and it means you have to jump through more hoops to get your refund. I contacted deliveroo and they said they need confirmation from the restaurant whether it has been delivered and THEY LIED TO DELIVEROO SAYING IT HAS WHEN IT HASN'T!! I told them I have Ring doorbell footage that no-one has come to my house and they made up a story that the person their driver delivered it to had asked "is the milkshake in there?" and that's why they are REFUSING TO GIVE ME MY REFUND. The owner was incredibly rude to me, shouting down the phone, repeating "who took your money, deliveroo, contact deliveroo, who took your money, deliveroo, you made your order through deliveroo" to the point that I could hear one of the other staff members telling him to calm down. I have now made an official complain through deliveroo, sought police advice and will be reporting them to the Trading Standards as I have paid for an order that has not been delivered and they are accusing me of lying. I tried to reason with them and call them back after I spoke to the police and before I put a complaint in to deliveroo and said please can you just tell deliveroo the order has not been delivered because it hasn't, and then we don't have to take this further, but the owner still continued to be rude and shout at me. He even rejected my first call and then after tried to put one of the younger female staff who work there on and I tried to explain this to her but the owner wouldn't calm down and was refusing to give me a refund and snatched the phone off her to continue shouting at me. WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T PUT YOURSELF THROUGH THIS HASSLE AND DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM! I have previously ordered from them and their food wasn't even nice. It's just near us and we needed something quick as I'm a tired mother looking after a small baby and needed something before putting baby to bed (which I explained to the owner and they still refused and treated me awfully, shouting down the phone) That is the only reason I bothered to order from them, but NEVER AGAIN!! DO NOT ORDER!!!

2 hours wait but it was Friday night busy time, unfortunately mostly cold as well. Usually goos from here, hopefully a one off.

Not a great service today! app had stated food was out for delivery, however 30 minutes later I had to chase, this then came back to say another 15 minutes, 20 minutes later still no show, spoke to them direct this time saying driver has left and should be with you in 5 minutes, which on this occasion did happen. I also requested some money back for the delay which did happen but a very poor offer from them was offered. At least the food was good.

Never had a bad meal yet from Ellistown Fish & Chips. Tasty, warm enough despite the distance travelled, and delivered with aplomb.

First visit since moving into the area. Won't be bothering again. Fish was dry and only warm, chips and mushy peas were ok.

Poor customer service! Foods cold, staff are very rude when on the phone trying to tell them the food is cold and tasteless. This order was £50+.

Called at 19:00 10 mins after delivery due, after 10-15 mins called again to be told delivery would be 10-15 mins again. delivery arrived at 20:05 over an hour late.

Food wasn’t great quality, chicken was rubbish cuts and also they got sauces wrong and ruined the kebab

Fish and chips delicious as always with an on time delivery from a really pleasant lady. Highly recommended.

Ordered fish, sausage, chips and a pukka pie, the fish was mushy and not fresh, it was if it had been left out for hours then reheated, it had a strange smell to it, the sausage was tough and looked like it had just been reheated, a wasted trip and a waste of money, it was quite frankly appalling and we will not be returning

Wonderful service. Good food. Wish I could have got it home a little quicker so that it hadn't cooled a little but even still it was good! Will ve coming back again!

DO NOT RECOMMEND! The service was godawful. Manager was rude and shouted a lot. Employees were relatively friendly but expressionless. Atmospherw was very depressing and uninviting. Food was cold and undercooked despite spending £30 on 2 fish and chips woth a kebab. Wont be going there again. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Appalling... Waited over an hr and a half for the order to arrive. They did not have the capacity to deliver within the stated time. Hungry kids, spoilt our evening. Never will I order from Ellistown Fish and Chips too unreliable.

Waited over 2 hours for my food delivery , The chip shop is less than a mile away.when the food arrived the chips and gravy was cold and the fish had soggy batter. The kebab was nice thing but was let down by the rest of order ….. don’t recommend will not be using again !!!!

Food was good, chips were great and generous portions, fish was okay, but a little bit dry. Did take a lot longer to be delivered than predicted, but I guess Saturday evenings tend to be busy.

A great local chippy with a good selection. Have diversified their menu with a healthier option of chicken kebabs, rice and salad of which the portions are generous. Im always greeted with a happy smile and friendly chat when I walk in by Jae and the Team. Nice work guys, keep it coming 👍🏻

One of the worst meals we’ve ever had!! Arrived late, we had to ring to chase it. There was more grease than anything else, one of the dishes arrived literally swimming in oil! The food was tasteless we ended up throwing it away.

orderedat 610pm for 745 delivery was accepted but didn't receive it till 825pm. called chip shop told it would be soon asked why it was marked for delivery he stated just eat did it I know this to be untrue as restaurant has to clear it. wouldn't mind but it's arrived and it's warm and chips soggy.

ordered at 8.52 £50 order time was changed for delivery rang at half 9 for a delivery update said within half hour rang again chap was abit abrupt considering how long we'd waited already turned up at 10.20 !! shame because food is nice

Driver forgot our order, restaurant was called and bloke offered to make us fresh food after they were closed and gave extras, good man 👍🏻👍🏻

20 minutes later after the longest waiting time. 1hr 45 mins for some fish & chips and salad from a chip shop 5 miles away is poor. The delivery charge seems excessive aswell but was happy to pay it if it was quick service. The food was ok and would probably pick up or use somewhere else next time. Be prepared to wait if you order online!!

I went in for the first time and was surprised by the hospitality and great customer service. I was greeted by very friendly staff. The food was delicious and there was such a wide variety. Also the prices were brilliant. Overall 10/10 experience, would definetely recommend.

paid £5 for a sausage meal, get home and there’s no sausage just a very small portion of chips with gravy!

The food from here is really nice and was really good too, my problem was that I ordered a large doner with salad but it was like a child’s portion tonight, and no salad just two slices of cucumber and two bits of tomato! Was it because I ordered in peak time? Should that matter? I will order from here again I just hope they don’t make this mistake again

Hands down THE BEST Chip shop in the area! Their chips are always perfect and the cod is delicious. Love that they add a wedge of lemon to the fish.... it's the little things that go a long way. 👌🏻

when our order arrived an item was missing, I rang and without hesitation the missing item was delivered along with a portion of chips. I just want to say thank you so much for the quick way you handled our query. we order regularly from here and will continue to do so as the food is exceptional and always arrives very quickly.

Without doubt the best Chippy on Just Eat in the Coalville / Ibstock area. Food consistently of a super high standard. Delivered hot and usually much earlier than their esitmate suggests. I'm effectively housebound and have used these guys a number of times before and will continue to do so. Thoroughly recommended. Keep up the good work guys.

Absolutely shocking service ordered over the app at 6pm and still waiting 2 hours later for food to arrive rang several times got told the driver would be 10 mins, rang back 20 mins later to be told the driver delivered our food to the wrong address he is just going back now to collect it, told them we wanted to cancel the food as its been delivered to someone else who have probably hand their hands all over it. Definitely will not be using ellistown fish and chips ever again. This was the first and last time.

I asked for peas i got gravy with fish yuk ,cold,I've left 3/4 of it .even the fish was over cooked won't be using it again.

Food was delivered around 30 minutes after the original estimated time. Food was marked as delivered when the estimated time came, not actually delivered until 15 minutes later and was cold upon receipt.

The food was due to come originally at 17:50-18:20 it was late so I chased it then stated to come at 18:40, I chased again and eventually it arrived at nearly 19:10, the fish was chewy and couldn’t eat it

We went here for a fish and chip lunch on Saturday after finding the menu online. It was our first visit and we were very impressed! Both guys behind the counter were really friendly and chatty while we waited for our order to be cooked from fresh. Food was great and the portion sizes were huge. Would definitely visit again.

The food was excellent, however, it was delivered over 30 minutes late. Not acceptable.

Food very good. Arrived hot and well packaged. My only comment is that I could have done with a few more chips to better balance the huge fish.

First off had a really rude delivery driver! apparently was ringing the door bell but wasn't even at my house when I answered the door was at another house. food came cold/luke warm! wouldn't recommend.

Food was 40 mins late. Live 3 miles away. The fish was cold n oily. Wasn’t good.

At least they phoned to let me know what the problem was
