Esta noche tuvimos el nuevo menú festivo que fue increíble. Excelente relación calidad-precio. Muy sabroso 11 / 10 para todo. Excelente servicio como siempre. Muy recomendable. La Reina Bea siempre nos cuida. Reserva. No te decepcionarás.

Asistimos al restaurante ayer por la noche, había un gran número de nosotros, que resultó no ser ningún problema para el este. La comida espectacular, y el servicio y TODO el personal era absolutamente fantástico. Muy recomendable

(Yo soy vegetariano, 1 pescador, y dos comedores de carne Todos nuestros platos estaban deliciosos y cocinados a la perfección El personal de espera trabaja muy duro y el servicio fue genial

Voy con frecuencia a este restaurante y lo calificaría como uno de los mejores de esta zona. El servicio es siempre muy acogedor y atento. La comida es a un precio razonable (especialmente el martes por la noche y el almuerzo) y delicioso. Recomendaría este restaurante a cualquiera que le guste la comida tailandesa / oriental.

This restaurant used to be my favourite but lately the quality and prices of their foods have changed. I ordered Crispy pork, Phad Thai noodles and Carrot salad. They were quite bland....I didn't enjoy as much as I expected. A small Carrot salad for 7.99£..wtf! ?? exactly same price as Crispy pork...don't make sense at all.The Staffs were quite nice as always but the english male staff(his name Duck)was very ignorant and rude. I paid my foods for 35£ but I didn't enjoy at all. Very disappointed.

Our most recent visit to East on a busy December evening was very good For starters we had Tempura Vegetables and Seafood Gyoza. Our mains were Chu Chi Prawns and Chicken Curry. We also had coconut rice, roti and noodles Absolutely all our food was excellent. As always the service was very good

Was with two friends, all our meals were perfect and the staff were lovely. It was our yearly reunion. We are all scattered across the UK and it was central for us all but if we lived closer, we would go again. Only setback was the roudy lot in Charters below the restaurant.

I took a friend for lunch and we ordered half a duck and pancakes (special treat for her as it is her favourite). £23.50 for a small half duck which was dry and overcooked. We were the only ones at lunchtime in the restaurant, so no excuses for being busy. I frequently come to East and have to say I was so disappointed. Also the duck was not the only dish ordered; noodles (very bland) and prawns (lovely and tasty) and drinks took the lunchtime bill to over £80 so at that price I would have expected much better.

Had a lovely dinner at East tonight with my husband and son; all three of us said it was the nicest meal we’ve had in a while (and we eat out a lot ) , the service was great too, we will definitely be going back soon 👍

I have been coming to Peterborough for many years and enjoying a few drinks at Charters Bar but I have never been to East. Last night with a number of friends was a joy, the food and the service were excellent and the tranquillity of sitting on the top deck of the boat was such a wonderful experience with my friends. I won’t leave it so long to enjoy some of the most wonderful Thia and Asian food I’ve ever had.

We thoroughly enjoyed the buffet meal yesterday and the food is tasty and hot. Very reasonably priced too. Love the atmosphere and environment but unfortunately parking is a problem.

An early January visit to the Upper Deck East in Peterborough with the wife and daughter. This part time show vegan, his delightful part-time pescatarian and spice suspicious full time carnivore all ate handsomely. Starters were all perfectly executed and presented by friendly and helpful staff, before being devoured in a table staining show of force by family Butler. Tempura vegetables, sweetcorn croquettes and steamed dumplings I seem to remember - but they were eaten so swiftly it's hard to recall with certainty - absolutely delicious!! Mains - Szechuan prawn for the boss, Singapore vegetable curry for the bill payer and duck pancakes for the daughter with increasingly expensive taste (I blame the mother). After a blissfully short discussion around the potential to share dishes, it was decided that the show vegan would not be sharing any of his dish for just Rice and Spring Onions!. We tucked into our meals initially with the provided chopsticks....this lasted just seconds before each of our taste buds decided that much larger quantities were required from each mouthful and they were discarded for the biggest spoons available. Each meal was delicious and demolished in a frenzy of plum sauce (to die for), curry sauce and noodle soaked pleasure. The delightful eating experience only briefly interrupted by the spectacular flambéing of a Volcano chicken on the table next to us. A brief scientific discussion followed around how close the daughter could get for the Insta photo before hairspray proximity would leave Dad with £250 on you've been framed. I swear the boat listed (it didn't!) under the sheer triumph of eating leaving all 3 of us with no space for pudding. We disembarked to leave the staff surprised by the unusual rocking of the boat at the weight shift as we left (again didn't and doesn't!) and flabbergasted by the speed at which they were able turn round the table for the next guests. Can't rate these guys highly enough... 5 stars! Be back again soon.

Food was amazing. Worth a 2nd visit. Unfortunately we booked online BUT it hadn't logged thier end. Perhaps you should ring instead. Didn't get coffee when we asked. Maybe brush up on service. Outweighed by the food though.

Location, views and yes the food. What a great place. Parking can be awkward though. The swans drifting by just topped the evening. We ate food we wouldn't normally try and we were not disappointed. Nice flavours, nice staff.

We have used this restaurant for many years and the food has always been excellent. We have been looking forward to the end of lockdown when we and our friends could visit again. Upon receiving an email saying that after 12th April they were providing a delivery service we decided that was our Saturday night dinner of choice. Placed an order on line, put in our address only to be told they do not deliver here even though we are only four miles away. It’s a shame as we then found Chu Chow Chin who delivered within 40 minutes, the food was fantastic and about 2/3rds the price. Sorry East, you have lost an up until now loyal customer who has in the past made many recommendations.

The food and the service were fabulous. We have been here several times in the past, and it even better than our great previous experiences. With the unexpected bonus of the current 20% discount. Our other two local favourite eateries (Peterborough Greyhound track, and Loch Fyne at Elton) have now closed permanently due to Covid, so we shall be coming here even more often!

The food here was delicious, especially because of the price with the eat out to help out scheme. I got the Tom Kha, Singapore curry, and morning glory, and felt that these vegetarian dishes were delicious. Waitresses were also very attentive and lovely. Only issue, the man that greeted us when we first got in the restaurant was very cold and standoffish, looked annoyed that we were there despite having a reservation. Besides this, great food, lovely setting, nice staff with great vegetarian food.

Four adults and two children (aged 4 and 7). We were a little concerned no children's menu, but reckoned (quite rightly) we could organise something for them with starters, sharing with the adults etc., and this worked brilliantly. And the "icing on the cake" was the Manager equipping the 4 year old with chopsticks joined together with elastic band - he ate all his meal with them and has not stopped talking about them sice!

Six of us had an amazing evening eating here. We all shared a few starters which were very good and then tried each others mains. All main meals came together and were of very good quality. I had the tamarind chicken with cashew and it was very good. The drinks prices were reasonable and the service was very good considering the restaurant was full and very busy.

Firstly, if you want cheap tasteless food, then go to harvester. If you want top quality food in a delightful setting served by a team of professional staff, then go to East. I have visited here on numerous occasions, and each time I am impressed with how nice to whole experience is. If you're lucky enough to get a table next to the window, you can enjoy your food as a family of swans glide by The manageress clearly expects nothing less than professionalism from her staff, which is evident by the attention to detail they give. The Chefs obviously know how to cook Asian food and blend their spices superbly. To add to the authenticity, they even have a rather attractive Thai waitress. If you still cant decide (I don't know why) why not try their Tuesday £10 menu. Starter and a main course for £10. If that doesn't convince you, then see you at harvester as I drive by.

Today for the 1st time i ordered a takeaway. I had pad thai noodles. This as a rule is my favorite thai meal. I was very dissapointed with this dish. Firstly the noodles were overcooked. Tiny little pieces and hardly any at all. I seemed to have paid £9.50 for a tub of almost all raw beansprouts. Very dissatisfied and still hungry after eating this dish. Also there was a slice of lemon instead of lime. Sad customer

Love the Sunday buffet. Has a good variety of dishes and it is always hot. Great value for the price and the staff is really friendly. Recommend this place to all my friends.

I’ve known this restaurant for several years and frequently visit its partner pub below deck. It is convenient for the city centre by the main river bridge. The Dutch barge is huge & very stable, with the restaurant tables having fine views along the river. The menu does focus on Thai food but with many other eastern cuisines also represented. The prices are not steep and the service was efficient - the bowl of crackers & help ordering were good. Portion size is not huge but that actually means one eats well without getting bloated. Four of us had a variety of dishes - all were well prepared & served, though the heat-rating (chilli impact) on some dishes was maybe exaggerated. Wine by the glass and beers from Charters (you can order or go & fetch your choice) were above average. The fact that the toilets are shared with the pub means they’re a bit more rough & ready than you’d expect in a good restaurant. All in all, well worth a visit with choice for most tastes.

Excellent all you can eat buffet for £12.95. Lots of choice from prawn crackers, spicy chicken wings, sesame prawn toasts, tempura vegetables, singapore noodles, sweet and sour pork, Thai curry and lots more. All freshly cooked and dishes topped up as soon as they empty. The service was excellent too.Lovely setting over the Nene and great have a table dressed properly with a table cloth!

Dinner with my husband and what a lovely evening we chose the £10 two courses the food was well exquisite wine perfect perfect setting nice warm the waiter lovely relaxing setting will definitely be back on a Tuesday evening

Lovely staff...always so friendly. The food is just perfect. We've never been disappointed with our choice of dishes. The curries are so delicious.

I have eaten here several times and both the food and the service of great. There is a really good selection of food and wine. The location by the river is beautiful. Well worth a visit.

They now now add a service charge to your bill. Not compulsory to pay it but makes you feel uncomfortable we you say you won't. This isn't America. Service should be expected, If I feel the need to tip I do, how much I tip is up to me.

The male and female members of staff who served us were extremely miserable and surly. I collected the plates we’d had for our starters and passed them to the young lady collecting them as it was difficult for her to reach one side of our round table. Not so much as a smile or a “Thank you” did I get! When she was collecting the plates we’d had for our main courses, the young lady knocked my shoulder on two occasions as she leant across the table right in front of me, collecting the empty dishes. The man who took our meal orders was miserable, we were not greeted and he didn’t smile or act in a friendly way. The meal itself couldn’t be faulted, it was delicious but the unfriendly attitudes of our two servers spoilt it for the nine of us.

I ate here in June whilst away on Business, we pre- booked. The restaurant is located on a boat. There is a big choice on the menu and did not have to wait very long for our meals.

We went along to East for a team night out and meal. The service was brilliant ( although it was very busy ) we never had to wait for anything. The food was incredible and the atmosphere was brilliant. If you are looking for a quality Chinese in the middle of Peterborough look no further

El domingo Fuimos a almorzar. Tuve una excelente comida. Justo después de las 12. 30:00 empezó a llenar pero el servicio era fantástico. El personal es muy amable. He estado por la noche con amigos en la semana y siempre disfrutamos de nuestra comida, el ambiente y el servicio.

Mi familia y yo fuimos al buffet del domingo, muy, muy decepcionados, muy poca variedad, especialmente para los niños, especialmente cuando son el mismo precio que los adultos. La comida era mala, le faltaba sabor y estaba en el mejor de los casos. Le dije a la señorita que me atendio y ella no hizo nada, con que me dijo otra señora y dijo que quería irse y explicó por qué. Ella me pidió que pagan la mitad de la factura que era 36 libras. Realmente, como un tonto que pagué. Caro para 4 copas de coca cola. La comida y el servicio pésima. Gracias por una tarde encantadora con mi familia se hizo memorable por todas las razones equivocadas. Pd: que era el único 4 personas para 1 calle 24 horas, me pregunto ¿por qué? ? ? ? Para el propietario de este, gracias. ¿Qué puede hacer así que otras personas no experimenta lo que no?

Como hemos mudado recientemente a Peterborough y leer los muchos comentarios de este restaurante, con sólo darle una oportunidad! - no nos decepcionó en lo más mínimo, la comida era excelente y el bar de la planta baja era un estupendo hallazgo. Iremos de nuevo - Puedes apostarlo

Fuimos a un martes (después probamos el domingo anterior) sin reserva pero nos dieron una mesa - sin la vista perfecta. Aún así estaba bien. La comida era excelente y el martes con la oferta menú especial una verdadera ganga! Disfrutamos del grifo y la de productos Krombacher carne secos, así como el pargo rojo.

Me and my husband love this restaurant! We go quite often and the food is consistently delicious and the service is always friendly and helpful.

Fuimos a éste en el camino de vuelta de compras, me alegro mucho de que fuimos, y haría que las 45 min en coche para volver. Increíble comida diferente y agradable entorno.

We regularly visit East restaurant, food is consistently excellent, German beer is good, always made to feel welcome. It is a nice setting on the river, well priced and we always enjoy going.

We had an evening meal out with friends by the river at East, and it was lovely. Our table was in the window and we had a great view of the swans. The food and the service were excellent and I will go there again. Its quite a romantic setting for a couples night out too.

Peaceful location on a barge on the river, so very atmospheric. Friendly and speedy service . Big menu of Thai, Chinese and other asian food.

Very good food at a very reasonable price. Restaurant is on upper deck of barge on the Nene with pleasant views and lots of swans. Below deck is Charters Real Ale bar which has live music at weekends. You can be served real ale with meals as well as an excellent wine list.

We made an early booking for a Friday night so came just as the restaurant opened. I very much enjoyed the food and would definitely book again when we come to Peterborough.

I was expecting a lot more from east, it seemed like such a beautiful place from the outside, but that was not the feel from inside. When me and my friend arrived the place was mainly empty apart from a table of six who were being very loud from the start, there was no one at the desk serving and it was a good couple of minutes until someone came to serve us, the waiter was very moody and we could not understand what he was saying as he was mumbling, making the evening worse. The time the service took was poor, waiters ignoring us every time we tried to get their attention. The toilets were absolutely disgusting, there were puddles everywhere and there was no sign of a cleaner being there. Never ever going back!

Attended as a party of 50 on business and received excellent service for a large party. Good views of the river located on a boat and nice pub on the floor below.

Great view of the river while you relax with attentive service. All the food we ordered as group all look delicious. We had a lot of empty plates at the end. So I am sure all of my party would recommend it.

My husband and I have been here a few times when visiting Peterborough, and we keep coming back. The food is fantastic, a good variety and very tasty, and the service is amazing. Also the fact that its in a boat is different but its lovely at night. We sometimes have a drink in the Charters pub that's underneath the East while we wait for our table. The only problem is that there is a slight tilt as the boat is moored so I have to be careful when walking to my table, could also do with air con for the summer as it can get quite stuffy.

Tuesday's 2 course for a tenner menu is a great way to sample some of the wonderful food produced by the chefs. It is probably worth booking if you are arriving after 6:30, to get a table with a river view, enchanting. I cheated and ate at 5:30, when the restaurant opened. The food was wonderful, I had Sun dried beef to start and spicy crispy chicken, both of which were freshly prepared, piping hot and beautifully spiced. Ten pounds - not bad. I accompanied this with a bottle of Oakham Inferno - a smashingly light fruity bitter.I love the environs, with a Real Ale bar at the bottom of the boat (from which you can also order and eat food from the East restaurant); proper hubbub of an English pub, and a floating restaurant which seems whistfully detached from the rest of the world. Quirky, Fun, Different

Only had the one meal here so far but will go again. Such I wide variety and choice of really tasty well presented food, served by very friendly staff.I like nice spivey food and the managed to accommodate my pallet perfectly.

Possibly not the best time to visit this restaurant as it was very hot and stuffy, air-con would be a good addition. Also be aware that there is a bit of a tilt to the floor (well it is a boat!) so be careful when walking to your table. Food varied from excellent to so-so, very dependent I guess on taste/choice. A bit disappointed to be left with a 'lardy' aftertaste from the tempura. Good selection of dishes however. Tables could do with being a bit more spacious, if there are 4 people there isn't a lot of room to put the dishes on the table. Also try not to go too late if you are wanting to chat as at about 1030 there was really loud music suddenly blaring - time for us to go. The waitresses were very good and efficient and the setting is very nice. shame it was so hot and cramped.

This review is about the chinese restaurant on a barge above Charters , moored on a canal (not the Grain Barge).Fantastic ambience, great food, never disappoint. This is our go-to place for chinese food in P'Boro.
