Never disappointed when visiting here. Excellent land lady and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The new darts section is an Excellent addition. Food was on point as always and the the atmosphere was super relaxed. Best food spot in town! Keep up the good work Natasha and the team. We will definitely be back soon. Must recommend the new chicken kebab, what a dish!

This is a lovely pub that serves great food. The staff were friendly not just to us but also to our dog. They took the time play games with him as well as bring him treats and water.

We visited for Sunday lunch when staying in the area as a family group of 11 and 2 well behaved dogs. The pub is nice and friendly . Most of us had the Sunday Roast which we had to pre-order beef and turkey , it was OK but not the best we have had shame they used frozen potatoes and veg which let it down so much nicer to use fresh produce. Shame really as otherwise a nice experience .

Visited Wednesday lunch time about 1pm, we were the only customer. Warm welcome, and pub was warm on a cold day and was clean and comfortable. Menu choice was good and reasonably priced. We were surprised at the slow service, when the pub was so quiet. The foid we had was very good.

The food here is delicious, I was so impressed with the service and how quickly the food was brought out. The staff are so friendly and really make you feel right at home

Visited here with family for Sunday Roast, was very surprised to find out that they had only just started offering this as it was one of the best Sunday roasts we had had and my partner is a Sunday roast snob! Excellent service and attentive staff and the landlady came to check all was ok. We had desserts and the bill was very reasonable. I like the open log fire and it has a very homely cosy feel , needless to say we have already returned and the food and service was just as good, give it a go you won’t be disappointed .

Four of us, went to the Dog & Otter, for their NYE celebrations. The entertainment was really good & the buffet far exceeded our expectations. It came in the form of both hot & cold food, which was of really good quality & not skimped in size. The hosts were welcoming, with a friendly personality & were keen to make sure that a good night was had by all. Overall, a very enjoyable evening, that was definite value for money. Well done The Dog & Otter!

Service was OK, haven't tried the food for a while as I hear it's not the best. Beer was good. The atmosphere seems a little quieter the last couple of times I've been. I may have gone in on the wrong days maybe? Will try again though.

The service was exceptional by the new waitress that had only been here a couple of days. very attentive to the service she provided. The meals were well prepared and the food was nice and fresh. we will definitely be returning in the future.

Went for dinner with my family over the weekend and wow what a shame. This place used to be wonderful but it only seems to be going down hill fast. To start, we walked in and saw 2 small children sat in the kitchen, we were approached by a lady who told us to sit down and explained someone would come to take our order. Around 15 minutes later, a member of staff came to speak to us and he/she was very rude and clearly had no customer service experience. Our drinks were forgotten about so my wife went to the bar to get them herself, she was greeted by an older blonde lady who we think was the new landlady, she didn’t have any customer service experience either by the looks of things. She was wearing very questionable clothing and wasn’t professional at all. The food we got was appalling but with what we had seen up until this point, we weren’t expecting anything great. We won’t be returning unfortunately.

Been awhile since last visit but heard a new landlady had taken over and what a difference -for a Wednesday night the place was quite busy. Had food and drinks. Delicious!!! Landlady was very pleasant and welcoming. Will be back.

My friend and I went in last week for a light lunch, wonderful, very tasty and great service. We shared at a sandwich and glad that we did share as it was huge. Lovely soft, fresh cob with tuna melt and a portion of freshly cooked chips. Will definitely go again.

Very disappointed! My steak wasn't cooked how I had asked, the chips were undercooked and the onion rings were over cooked. When I payed the didn't ask if I had enjoyed my meal or not.... I won't be returning.

Shocking! utterly shocking! This pub used to be great, good staff good food and nice atmosphere, but been took over and no ones familiar anymore and the service is PANTS! ordered chicken wings and riblets starter and asked for it well done( crispy wings) but instead they came raw haha the were pale uncrispy and pink inside and only got 2! asked for them to go back and come back crispy and one of the un professional waiters said.... thats how they come, oh my lord were are these people coming from, my dad and daughter asked for well done gammon, again never listened just brought out 2 normal cooked gammons, what a rip off bring back the last lot and get these rid of!

Terrible terrible service. Ordered a chicken and rib starter, I asked for them well done, they come raw and undercooked. I shouted a waitress over and said one was red , she said that’s how they come and how they’re supposed to be. I sent them back, she come back and said ‘ the chef said they’re supposed to be like that ‘. Never have I ever been to a restaurant, sent food back and the waitress come back out with the exact same food ! We wasn’t once asked how the food was , very unprofessional service. Used to be an amazing pub with great food, since the new management have taken over , it’s the worst place I’ve ever been to. Will not be returning.

**UPDATE** AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Do not lace their pockets with your hard earned cash! What they have done to the best landlord this pub has seen in years is beyond evil! Kicked him out along with his family over nothing! Because he benefited that pub and made it what it once was, now Marstons want it back and ended his contract 4 YEARS EARLY! Amazing new landlord and landlady, always have time for you and a great laugh! Always feel welcome and warm, always spotlessly clean. Beer is amazing and can tell it’s certainly well looked after. Well done guys and keep it up! 6 stars if I could!

Good company. Excellent service. Roast beef was rather tough but everything else lovely.

Their web site says they are open for food Tuesday lunch, even advertising all day burgers, not true! Quite dismissive when challenged, saying they use social media rather than the internet! The bar area not clean either, to rub it in a staff member was eating a sandwich in front of us while she was working! Strong experienced management needed in there, it is shambolic at present. Won't go again.

Great pub, excellent food and customer service 2nd to none. Landlord and staff are very welcoming, great for a quick pint, 3 course meal or a full day of drinking. Spent many if winter days with a pint in hand sitting by the open fire in the main bar area.

Never eaten but pop in for a drink from time to time. Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Plus that it’s dog friendly too! Drinks are well priced and no problems.

We pop in as often as we can and are always made to feel welcome. We love sitting by the fireplace with our 2 dogs. Well behaved dogs are welcome and fresh water and snacks are freely available. We share some tasty food and drinks, talk to the locals and the owners always come over for a chat when they get a chance. Friendly, attentive staff and lovely, chilled atmosphere. The Dog & Otter is an asset to it's community :-)
