Brilliant service and one of the best breakfasts we’ve had!

Dishoom Manchester is a perfect spot. Celebrated a friend’s birthday there and the whole vibe was just perfect—great food, warm atmosphere, and amazing service. The place gives off real India vibes, from the décor to the funny little signs on the walls—feels like stepping into a café in Bombay. I’ve been a few times now, and every time I take someone new, they end up loving it. Honestly, I’ve enjoyed it just as much each time. Always a solid choice.

I have seen many Indian restaurants around the world. But this one is the most beautiful, largest and most atmospheric! Wonderful design, pleasant aromas... My table was served by a perfect waitress. It is a pity that in the morning you can only order breakfasts, and not the usual favorite Indian dishes. It is like at McD: you come for a Big Mac, and in the morning it is not there. The same here: in the morning they do not prepare either Paneer Tikka, or Butter Chicken, or Garlic Naan... The waitress hospitably invited me for lunch :)

The service was excellent, the food lived up to the 4.8 star average rating, well deserved, i had the chicken ruby and although it was a tiny bit sweet for my liking, it was full of flavour, the Naan was baked fresh and was really tasty!

Everything was top notch, staff (everyone not just the server), everyone that we passed at the end of the night said 'good night' and those are the little things that make the difference... That is on top of the AMAZING food... Everyone was blown away. THANKS.

Outstanding as always food, atmosphere and service

Food was awesome. Service was impeccable. Would have been nicer to have some other whiskies for after dinner but I can't complain about the experience. It's not cheap but not unreasonable. I was surprised for a restaurant of this quality that they don't accept Amex! It explains why I couldn't find it on Amex restaurant list when I looked at other venues.

Absolutely superb! I came to Dishoom to celebrate my auntie's Bday, and the whole experience was supreme. The food was just delicious, and the venue is gorgeous, but what made the difference was the outstanding service. They were helpful and attentive without being intrusive. I had a surprise cake for my auntie, and they were amazing at helping me sorting it all out, which I'm so grateful for. Me and my family were delighted, 100% recommend it 👌

Best restaurant🫶🏻 It was my first trip to the UK and I was so excited that I wanted to try the curry as soon as I arrived. As expected, it was delicious. There was no waiting and it was nice to get in right away✌🏻

It's my favourite halal restaurant to go with family and friends I would highly recommend having the nilli nahari biryani as a main dish with the chicken ruby And the best salad was house chaat

I would just like to say an absolutely amazing vibe and evening but what really did it for us was Vilija as our server she was absolutely amazing and so so friendly as well as being very knowledgable. I would highly recommend to anyone to try !!!

Amazing food! The flavors were spot on and everything we tried was delicious. The only downside was the lighting—it was a bit too dark, which made it hard to get good photos of the food. Also, I wish they had a wider variety of curries on the menu. A few small tweaks and this place would be perfect!

Unnecessarily overpriced ; the food quality is acceptable but does not justify the cost. Menu prices are absent. Despite its appearance, this establishment is not an authentic Indian restaurant and should be avoided by those seeking Indian cuisine. The ambiance also fails to warrant the high prices.

Wrestlers naan best thing I’ve ever had. Even had a bottle of kingfisher larger with was perfect. Could not recommend this place more the best food I have ever had.

Superb Indian restaurant, the welcome, the setting, the service and above all the cuisine is there. We enjoyed it from start to finish, as a lover of Indian cuisine it's one of the best I've eaten, go there you won't be disappointed.

Over-cooked prawns, over-cooked lamb chops at £9.50 each. Ochra was great. Basically, massively over-priced fast-food that is being hyped by influencers. 12.5% service charge just added to the sense of being ripped-off. Such a disappointment.

Amazing vibrant food with variations of spicy, creamy or herby dishes to suit any palate or create a dining experience that spans all the tastebuds. My partner and I decided to finally try here after hearing about it for years, ordering a large portion of what is an extensive vegan menu. A mistake only because we underestimated the generous portion sizes of their "small" plates. Good value for money, lots of choice and great quality. All delivered by a friendly and attentive staff that made our evening brilliant. Will be back

Been to many Dishoom restaurants but first time trying the Manchester branch and as always it did not disappoint. The waitress serving us Zoe was so upbeat, kind and helpful. Dishoom will forever be our go to spot

Rating: 3 stars We’ve been long-time fans of Dishoom and have visited the King’s Cross location in London since it first opened always a fantastic experience with delicious food and great service. So, during our trip to Manchester, we were excited to try the Dishoom there. We started with poppadoms, which were very tasty, and the Chicken Ruby paired with a cheesy naan, both were absolutely amazing, just as expected from Dishoom. However, we were a bit disappointed with a few dishes this time. The Gunpowder Potatoes were soggy, not properly grilled, and served cold. Similarly, the Mattar Paneer was also cold and lacked the rich, signature flavor we’ve always loved at Dishoom. We know Dishoom holds a high standard, and maybe it was just an off day, but we hope our next visit brings back the usual excellence we associate with the name.

Came here for date night, was probably some of the best food either of us have ever had. Can’t stop thinking about it 6 months later. Not great in regard to specific gluten free options, but I was able to enjoy an unreal meal being gluten free nonetheless. Service was great.

A real treat for a celebratory dinner. The food, setting and the staff are top line and couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Been here about 6 times now over the last couple of years, it never dissapoints. Highly recomended

Had the lamb shank biryani and it was nice. Good food . Drinks were lovely as well. It had a good amount of spice. Nothing too exceptional.

Staff and the service is too good.. and the ambience too. but, the prices are bit high and quantity is not matching for that prices. Taste wise good. if you provide more quantity of food for those prices it would be great.

The food was delicious, but the portions were quite small for the price. I found it to be a bit overpriced for what you get. That said, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was attentive and friendly. Overall, a good experience, but better value for money would make it even better

Amazing atmosphere, food and service. You can tell how much effort goes into every detail of the meal. We also loved that they have refill options on the chai and porridge. Would love to visit for dinner soon!

Honestly unbelievable food, I have absolutely nothing bad today about the food I was served at this fine establishment. The lamb chops; succulent and flavoursome and all the homemade dips and chutneys were to die for along with everything else we ate. My one singular criticism is that the wines were very expensive for the quality, they were far from enjoyable, however this would not stop me from returning the staff, ambience and food were 10/10.

Always outstanding breakfasts and service at Dishoom!

I travelled over 200 miles to have the Chef's Manchester Special, Nalli Nihari Biriyani: "Nihari - a famously hearty and robust dish - is synonymous with celebration. Made into a biryani, it is doubly so. Tender shank of lamb is layered with rice and caramelised onions then sealed beneath a pastry blanket. Enriched further with kaleji (chicken liver) raita and nihari gravy" It was TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!!

Every time we go its outstanding. We especially love the breakfasts, superb coffee, freshly squeezed juice. Great vegan choices too, while vegan menu. I can especially recommend the vegan sausage naan, it’s really really good. On the evening menu, the vegan vada pav and the chole are exceptional. We’ve been to many different locations, they all offer the same foods, same great service and they are always in kooky quirky buildings with great atmosphere

Rafaella served me very well and attentively, I felt very cared for during my visit. Having travelled over 200 miles to have the Chef's special Nalli Nihari Biryani after 6 years, I am happy to say that it still remains the best Biryani I have ever had and hands down the best dish at any Dishoom restaurant in the world.

Staff efficient and friendly. Great ambience, lighting too dim, didn't realise how big the restaurant was, hence my down star on mass-produced food. Presented well, but nothing special. You'll laugh at the poppadoms in photo. Service charge on the bill. Accessable toliet up a few steps!

I was disappointed with the food. The location is beautiful and the staff were amazing, but the food just left me a bit cold. The black Dahl wasn't particularly nice, it just wasn't as nice as ,say, Aakbars. I also realise that it's not that kind of place. Great if you like Insta pics, not so much if you're going to eat.

Food excellent. Great atmosphere

First time we've had breakfast at Dishoom - it was fantastic! The vegan food was amazing. Zoe, our server, was brilliant - very attentive and explained the menu really well when we were seated.

Bit of a joke, called to book a table to be told we didn’t need to, walk-in availability was fine. Arrived at the door to be told there was a wait time of 1hr 15mins! Don’t waste your time!

Update 21 March 2024. Amazing Indian breakfast. Front of house team and table service was top class. Brilliant 2022. Fantastic food and service. I dont think there wasnt a dish we didnt enjoy. The array of craft beers and lagers is very refreshing.

Can't comment on the food as we couldn't get in. They shouldn't claim they are a café and you can just turn up, when if you do, you are told you have an hour and a half wait. Why not just say booking recommended

Beautiful food and lovely service

Dishoom Manchester is set in a gorgeous building which is an experience from the moment you enter. The interior is outstanding, with beautiful style and cosy lighting throughout. We visited for breakfast and luckily were able to walk right in! I went for the Vegan Bombay breakfast which was delicious. The scrambled tofu was spicy and the perfect texture. The vegan sausages are different than any I have tried on the market with a beautiful rich umami flavour. This dish is a perfect combination between it's Indian heritage and an English fry. We also tried the Vegan sausage Naan Roll which was super tasty and satisfying. With this we had a side of the Masala beans which are an essential staple for the Dishoom breakfast, spicy and flavourful. Overall the breakfast here is absolutely elite and vegan options are great. It goes without saying that Dishoom in any location is worth a visit but I was particularly impressed with the food and ambience here. Hope I can be back soon 😊
