Deli Fuego in Cardiff

I ordered £53 worth of food. It wasn't ready. I had paid on justeat. I said to cancel the order/I had emailed justeat too. The owner confirmed collection when it was not collected. Now £53 has been taken from my account when I did not receive the food. Pure theft.

As always deli fuego is absolute perfection. The food is consistently great, highlights being the lamb mandi which is super tender and beautifully spiced. The pizzas are another winner, something simple done really well. The service is always great. We had Sabae tonight but we are always made to feel welcomed and special whoever serves us. The desserts and the cakes are fab too.

The outside of the restaurant and the website are very deceiving, it looks like a high end establishment,whereas everything on the inside is an absolute mess. The interior, the menu, the service everything was extremely disappointing. Hard bread with the meal? An hour for our 2 steaks to arrive. £2.50 for steak sauce? When asked whether we would just get a dry piece of meat without, there was no answer. 😂 just add the £2.50 to the price of the steak, noone would bat an eyelid.

I was deeply disappointed with the service I received at your restaurant. 18of January The waitress was incredibly disrespectful and demonstrated a clear gender bias throughout the experience. She consistently addressed my partner, ignored me entirely, and failed to acknowledge me even when asking about basic matters like clearing plates, how the food was, or offering the dessert menu. This wasn’t an isolated incident, it happened multiple times during the same visit. Even my partner noticed and commented on the behavior, asking if this was some kind of cultural practice. It felt like we were back in the 16th century, where women are disregarded, which is unacceptable in modern customer service. The manager or supervisor was nearby and could have noticed something was wrong, especially when I decided to leave and wait outside rather than confront the waitress. I value respectful communication and chose not to engage in an argument, but this experience has ensured that I will not be returning to this restaurant. I recommend you train your staff including management to address all customers respectfully, regardless of gender. For reference, the waitress even took a break at the table next to ours during our visit, in case anyone wishes to investigate further. While the food was decent, the blatant lack of respect from your staff has completely ruined my impression.

convenient location, large selection of food and drinks

Went for a family meal on Boxing day. 5 of us and ordered a family platter, some steaks and a mandi along with a few cocktails and desserts. All the food was lukewarm and not piping hot as we expected. The steaks were cooked well but again cold. Didn’t really complain until we found a piece of blue roll in our food. This was brushed aside and even laughed at by the manager. Absolute joke that they thought this was funny. The only positive was the young waitress that served us.

Deli Fuego consistently delivers! I got two birthday cakes from them recently, and both were a huge hit. My sister is a huge fan of their carrot cakes, and this one was the best yet. The birthday cakes were beautifully decorated, and the calligraphy was gorgeous. I’ve never been a fan of carrot cakes but this has changed my mind. My family was overjoyed and very grateful! Thank you, Deli Fuego, for making both birthdays extra special.

Lovely place to eat, consistently great service on the many occasions I’ve visited and of course delicious food with a diverse menu. The cake shop service also didn’t disappoint, got a birthday cake made here and it looked great and tasted even better, only 24 hours notice for your cake order too.

The pasta and sea bass both taste good.

This place has signed up to an app called too good to go which sells off food cheap that they would otherwise be throwing away. I paid £4 for a meal which they said would normally be worth £12 and received this tiny portion of curry and rice in a take away box which I don’t even think Is worth £4 let alone £12. The curry was decent , but feel ripped off. Served by very unfriendly waiter, who didn’t say a single word to me and left me standing there for 10 minutes. Not really the spirit of the app I think which aims to avoid food waste

Found this gem of a restaurant on my last visit to Cardiff City. I was looking for Mediterranean recommendations and google suggested this place. The mixed platter grill was amazing and bursting with flavours. Customer services was great. Saba, the server was exceptional and she ensured to check on us twice about the food and if we needed anything. MiXed grill platter was more than enough for two people and shame we couldn't finish it. Good food, excellent customer services and reasonably priced.

Ordered a cake for my daughter’s first birthday party. Drove an hour each way to collect the cake, got it home stored in a cool dry place. Checked it to find the cake all slumped down, characters sliding off and all wrinkled. Contacted the shop was told to phone back in the morning. The following morning (the day of my daughter’s birthday party) spoke with someone on the phone and was told they’d make me a new one. Again drove an hour each way to collect the new cake, which meant I had to delay the time of the birthday party at short notice. The staff were not very apologetic. I asked if I could get a discount on the cake for the inconvenience, and the time and petrol I’ve wasted travelling back and forth and the fact I had to change the time of the party and inconvenience family and friends - was told no and given a pack of 2 candles, and that I’d have 20% off next time, not that I’d return again after this. Shocking customer service and poor attention to detail. Never again, ruined my daughter’s special day.

I recently visited this Deli Fuego restaurant with friends, and we ordered the mixed grill platter for one. The food was delicious overall, and the place was clean. The service was absolutely fantastic. it was a lovely experience. highly recommended for you!

Always good value for money at Deli fuego. Loads of lamb cutlets on my dish. The tea is a lovely treat to end your meal.

UPDATE: BASED ON YOUR RESPONSE Thank you for your response. I have emailed you back but not heard anything yet. I spoke to my mother and she is adamant that nobody said anything about the paper being just card printout. If there was worry about the the sugar paper being destroyed then this should've been kept separate from the cake and left to add on the day. The fact that card was never mentioned and left on the cake for many people to cut up and eat was irresponsible especially as we believed this was sugar paper. There was a recommendation for storage and the cake before the event was kept in a walk in fridge then displayed indoors. For this to have fallen apart, according to a cake maker in the field demonstrates a cheap mix used especially as the red goo stank of vinegar and affected the taste of the cake. The armature used is the same as the strings on the 3 string bass. I don't understand how you say this cake does not reflect the quality of your cakes when this was made and brought out from your own kitchen I am happy to negotiate but am still disappointed and devasted by the lack of care in this cake. ----------‐-- ------------- Deli Fuego, my mother commissioned a characature cake from the company, she showed them an example of what she was looking for and they said they could do it, no questions asked. However, they literally bit off more than they could chew. The cake tasted ok but the design was really amateur. [[Update: the fondant completely slid off the day after the wedding! Stank of vinegar from the cheap buttercream and vinegar mix. Very poor quality compared to the other red velvet cake made at the same time by someone else. No slip, didnt stink of vinegar. (Photographed) ]] Only one of the tiers was actual cake, the top tier was fake (this was agreed so they would have more time to do the decoration) The prints were not sugar paper!! it was actually just paper. I made the mistake of trying to eat one because I love sugar paper. They delayed my mum from picking up as they were panicking in the kitchen. It was the funniest cake I've ever seen that was presented at a WEDDING . My mother and I were very disappointed by the lack of communication about the cake and poor design choice. I think the cost of the cake was for the taste, not for artistic decorating and even then they charged way too much with no offer of discount. If it wasn't for my mum being there trying to tidy it up in their kitchen, then it would've looked a lot worse than photographed. Especially as the decorations were melting off the cake. The armature was super skinny and couldn't handle the weight of the charactatures so the bodies were splitting in half. No armiture inside the bodies except for the arms. The sugar glue given did not help hold anything up. We even had to improvise with the hand and put it on the heart as if intentional because it wouldn't stick on. Do not ask this company to do custom cakes they will promise without question, take your money, use cheap ingredients and give terrible results. We were very highly disappointed. This cake cost £220!!!!!! Not worth it!

Chicken kabsa is look like 10 days ago cooked

Went here for a wedding reception. The food is AMAZING!!! One of the guests were unable to use the stairs because of mobility issues, some of the staff then carried her upstairs in a chair!! That's what you call going beyond all expectations. I can't fault anything about this place. Would highly, HIGHLY recommend it.

Amazing food…with the exception of the Falafel wrap. Service was the main star of the show…Osama had great customer service skills and surprised us with a cake at the end of our meal as one of us had our birthday.

If you like middle eastern food this is awsome , lamb cooked to perfection , chicken tender, and all full of flavour , service with a smile was across the board , be prepared to lay off the booze for a night ...as this is a no alcohol restaurant, but plenty of juices and mocktails to choose from.

Highly recommend! We ordered a small mixed mizza from starter which was all fresh and tasty. Then as a main we choose platter no 1- for 2 people. Platter was huge! Also we asked our very helpful waiter Osama can we have it spicy because we like spicy food and guess what? Chefs make it exactly as we like- spicy but not overpowered. We took half food as a take away because we didnt manage to eat it all in one go. Also I need to mention- Osama is a very good waiter, he is nice, kind, professional and funny :) We will defo come back!

The restaurant offered an exceptional dining experience with delicious food, attentive service, and a welcoming ambiance. Each dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor also huge credit for Sabae and Oussama for the amazing customer service. Make sure to visit this place if your ever in Cardiff.

Best place for the best cake I ever eaten and family is confirming the same thing . I ordered it on the last minute as I needed the cake for the next day as didn't have time to order with few days before due to hectic lifestyle. I wish I went for a bigger cake . I wish I could give 100*

Cosy environment, love coming here with my kids. Waiters dressed nicely and super friendly and welcoming. Always go above and beyond. They allow us to go upstairs to pray salah which is perfect. Food is tasty and well favoured. Overall, lovely family restaurant.

**Disappointing Experience** Bought a couple of cakes from this place, and unfortunately, they were unfresh and extremely dried. Looks like they have been stored for ages. They sold me these cakes as if they were the same quality as the fresh, tasty ones I buy from other places. I was extremely disappointed and would not recommend this place to anyone looking for fresh and tasty cakes.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Deli Fuego. The manager was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. Instead of addressing my concerns politely, he treated me poorly and even told me to leave the restaurant. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the establishment. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience.

Delicious food. Ordered mix grill, chicken kabseh, lasagne. All tasty but shame the mix grill did not include a lamb mince kebab. Lovely cake to go too. Waitress was very friendly especially towards my 3 year old.

Nice ambience with good delicious food. Ordered mandi rice and platter-2. The platter had good generous portions and grill was amazing. Saba was amazing with her flawless service.

Got in contact with Rita from deli fuego on a Thursday for my husbands birthday party which was happening on the Saturday (2days time). Rita was very accommodating of my needs and organised everything as I wanted it. The whole evening was absolutely fabulous. Rita really went above n beyond my expectations. She made the whole experience very pleasant. Ritas customer service skills wer exceptional and I can't thank her enough for helping me organise the whole thing. We ran late but Rita was very understanding about it n done everything as i asked her to do Highly recommend deli fuego n Rita

Nice place and the food is good but there is no parking around what is annoying

Even though there was an empty table and there was no one waiting, they did not let me sit and eat because I was the only one. I couldn't have dinner because they would make more money than if a potential group of 3-4 people sat at that empty table. It wasn't booked because the guy asked me how many people we are :) and I said I am one, he said that no table for one , we are full :)

Where can I start the I orders a mix grill extra with a side of chips & rice for £2 waited half an hour came half warm with absolute no flavour apart from salt and pepper and Frye chips were steal with cold rice and hardly any salad food finished went to wash my hand shocked of the state of toilet no soap with the bum washer (jug) between the stinks and toilet seat lid on the floor , when paying manager did not ask how was the food or even bothered with us as he was ordering his staff to do things. Been going to deli fuiego since they first opened. Spent thousands on parties etc over the years. Today 20 of us went for a Eid meal which was pre booked. Went it at 6.30 came out at 9.30. Took 45 mins to get served, 1.30 hours for hummus and after 2.5 hours had mains. Main waiter was sarcastic throughout. Politely talked to the manager which I know. And rather than apologise kept making excuses. As soon as the rest of the table came to pay kept making more excuses. Just to avoid the feedback gave a discount and said he done is a favour. Would avoid waited 3 hours. Ruined a family meal. Food is decent but not worth the wait time.

So disappointed with the iftar buffet at Deli Fuego yesterday. It was a total mismanagement with very very poor quality food and service. A large number of seating was cramped in an utterly dilapidated hall (there was no room for anyone to walk around) with poor quality furniture, cutlery and utensils. The number of staff were minimal and they all looked terribly overworked. It was too crowded and too noisy, not a pleasant experience for a family outing - we couldn’t sit down without moving every 2 seconds to let people past, and we couldn’t hear each other talking at all. Iftar at the mosque is a much better experience and well managed than our experience at deli fuego. I would definitely not recommend anyone going there as the price is quite expensive for a really terrible service and food. We made our reservation on the phone, the man said foods, sweets and any drinks are all included within the price, only to be shocked that drinks were included in our bill. The worker said it may have been a misunderstanding but still charged us for the drinks anyway although the mistake was from their side. They charged £20 per adult and £8 per kid plus all the drinks. The price is definitely not cheap and I’d recommend everyone to go to any other restaurant on city road as you’ll get a pleasant meal with a good service for a cheaper price.

I went to deli Fuego for anniversary party. Best service in the cardiff. We ordered dessert and shakes. I changed my mind about shakes. I want banana shake instead of Oreo shake and they already made it for me but still they made another for me and they didn't charged me for that. Lovely experience. Highly recommend.

Gone there to try a few different types of cake before buying one for a party. Worst cake in Cardiff - tastes like an artificial defrosted cake, dry and no flavour. No cherries in Black Forest cake. When asked for the bill, the manager (Mohamed) started arguing and making a scene about the cake I did not want to eat 😂. I honestly just wanted to pay and go. This place is a joke, don’t recommend it.

Amazing service , good size portions delicious food, we were seated by the front door so it was icy cold everytime it was opened. The food went cold quite quickly was was reheated upon request. There were no other seats available for two. The cake select was scrummy

It was our first time here. The food was delicious and the staff went above and beyond to wait on us. We took some of our food home because there was more than we could eat. We also took home 2 slices of cake, which was gorgeous! We’ll definitely be back!!!

Ordered a steak for £20, not including the extras for fries sauce etc.tiny steak and couldn’t eat it all as couldn’t chew through the gristle. I should have sent it straight back but didn’t want to make a fuss. When I did mention it to the manager his attitude stunk and offered half my money back. Ruined what should have been a good time. Never again going there.

Went to deli fuego on city rd cardiff last night with my wife and neighbours, (4 of us). After ordering our food, our starters arrives 2 of us had king prawns in breadcrumbs that were overcooked as the breadcrumbs were hard and dry, i said to send them back but didnt want no fuss, so ate them. The main meals came out t.bone steak that was fine, A mixed grill well what a total disapointment it was small portions and some of it burnt, 2 of us had the calzaghe pizza ( folded pizza) one of these being ME, what a rip off so small, i have being going to this place for many years with the wife and grown up children, for birthdays, anniversaries, or just a general evening out as a treat, as my wife and i work hard, AND TO TOP IT OFF I ASKED THE WAITRESS IF THEY TOOK BLUE LIGHT CARD AS I WORK FOR THE EMERGENCY SERVICES, SHE SAID YES " DO YOU ALL HAVE A BLUE LIGHT CARD" i said no me as im paying the bill, i assume she wanted to see 4 blue light cards, very unprofessional in my opinion.BUT WE ALL AGREE NEVER TO GOT THERE EVER AGAIN, after so many years of good food and service, deli fuego your standards have badly fallen, you have lost 4 customers tonight, something you cannot afford to do if you want to survive it business. Goodbye...

Great experience here. Food was delicious and our Lithuanian waiter (i didnt get his name) was brilliant. I couldnt fault the service at all, the waiter was so engaging and accomodating. I go out for food a lot and this is probably the best service i have experienced. There is a hell of a lot on the menu, bit of an identity crisis going on. That being said all food is at the highest quality and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend paying a visit, i will for sure be returning!

We both had T-bone steak was really nice, the only problem was it was so cold inside resteraunt that the food went cold too quickly we were both shivering (ate the steak 1st) would recommend this place.. But not during winter time its a shame as we have a bday party soon so this restaurant won't be on our picking list..

20+ min wait until orders where even taken. Had to ask for water 3 times. Food did not all arrive at the same time. Waiter ignored me dispite looking at him. Manager also insulted me by saying I look 15 (I'm 21 with a beard, just short lol) in response to me stopping him from charging us on an item that never arrived. Wouldn't ever come here, the place used to be decent but management clearly don't have a clue what they're doing. I didn't enjoy my food as it was really bland but the pizza seemed decent.

Unfortunately a bad experience. Slow service (short staffed and not busy) and condescending management (who wouldn’t assist their staff) with no people skills. Tried to cancel due to slow service wasn’t allowed to then they also tried to avoid the student discount (‘oh it’s only on food not on dessert’). Poor value for money (5 tiny macaroons for £6.95) Charged twice because of faulty payment system but later one refund did come. But ultimately the attitude of the management was appalling. Deli fuego was not what we expected.

Good food, friendly staff, always used to come and check if we need something. Portions are great, worth the money. The mix platter was really good. They do have a wide range of desserts.

Used to love coming here for the Prawns and chicken wings. But they have changed the Prawns starter and main. The main prawn dish was dry and tasteless.

Lovely restaurant. Would totally recommend the Chicken Mushab as it is excellent! The staff are really friendly, we've seen one waitress a couple of times and she always takes time to ask how we are! The only downside here are the deserts. They're not bad, they're just not as amazing as the starter or main menus! Oh and a few spelling mistakes on the menu!

Food was good. Portions were really good and the food was tasty. Owner came up to check on us which is always a plus. The venue itself is a bit confusing though. There's too much going on is it a cake shop? Is it a pizzeria? Don't know it's just Deli Fuego. The venue is the only reason it loses a star definitely worth a visit for good priced food.

Mixed mezze starter - very good, lamb chops starter - tasty but only two in a portion, king prawn starter - bland, main meal of burgers - very poor, lasagne - not much minced meat and what appeared to be sliced up sausages in with the minced meat, sea bass - very overcooked and dry chicken kebabs - tasty. Would not recommend.

Food was excellent, portions were great and price was reasonable, my with has severe gluten allergy and they just were not 100% on it. Our main concern was the cross contamination which occurred with ice cream, it was quickly changed. Over all a very pleasant place with great food, great facilities and friendly staff.

Had our wedding cake made by Deli Fuego and it was exceptional, we have had birthday cakes from here before and loved them so we trusted them to make our beautiful wedding cake and we weren’t disappointed! We chose sponge, red velvet and biscoff! All favours were amazing even the biscoff I’m told which had completely gone so I didn’t get to try it! I know what flavour our next birthday cake will be :) thanks again for a fabulous cake!

Not sure what has happened here, a few years ago this place was really good. The waitress who served us was rushing and wasn't very attentive, but then again she didn't have much help. The fuego wings were terrible, they were the smallest wings I've seen and no way was that a main portion. The sirloin steak was extremely bland, it was a good size however it lacked any flavour. Overall was really disappointed, I'm not sure what has changed.

Disgusting behaviour from the staff, especially the waiters- 2 of them were serving you like they don’t want to, and the next tall guy was so arrogant when passed a negative comment about the food! First and last time! And will be warning friends and family! Dirty toilets! Absolute filth!

Where can I start? First of all, the welcoming was horrible, they looked like they didn’t even want to welcome us into the restaurant. Then they had us waiting for a table although there were a few tables available. The waiter looked like she was over worked so the attitude and service was extremely forced and rushed. Whilst eating she would come over and say are you done? Are you done? As if they were expect a lot of people, ( although it was empty). My husband ordered a dish which you can clearly tell has gone off a couple of days ago, there was a horrible smell and the taste was disgusting. He did not eat it at all and when the bill came he was forced to pay for it. When we complained that the food was untouched and uneaten, the manager said give them 30% off which was absurd! Me and my family have been coming here from years but after that, it was the last straw. The cakes are disgusting and the decorating always falls off and it has discoloured our teeth. Very sad and disappointing! It has left us displeased and frustrated. Thank you but no thank you, we will never step one foot in this restaurant again.

If there was 10 stars I would give 10 stars. I arrived here today last minute and mohammed and staff were amazing and helpful. I had a last minute birthday and needed a cake and they went above and beyond for me! Food is also amazing, I would highly recommend going here for all occasions or even just a friendly coffee and cake, thanks so much again :)

The star of the show here was the whole sea bass, we thoroughly enjoyed it and would go back for that alone. The 5 stars is given purely on the basis of this dish. The king prawns were tasty, albeit a very small portion with 4 prawns. The Pizza was average, something was not right either with the dough or cheese. Steak was okay, and the peppercorn source was good. Staff and management were pleasant, but they missed key things like cutlery and straws etc which we had to ask for. Atmosphere was abit dull, but that’s perhaps we went towards the end of their opening hours. Try it if you’re in Cardiff.

The cake which I bought from here was excellent Please change your opening time on google. One of the very friendly staff opened the door for us and give the cake because we reached there at 9.00 as per the google timing Shops open only at 10.00. Friendly staffs but they charged me extra for adding extra toppings but unfortunately I couldn’t find anything extra

I always order from deli Fuego cakes and always something happens. This time I ordered a cheesecake slice and found mould in it. Everytime we preorder cakes we get hair in them as well. I’m not sure why they don’t just be extra careful and actually care for their customers.

We celebrated our graduation there. We had dinner and the food was delicious. We also had a cake which was very tasty and beautifully presented. The service was also great. We enjoyed the atmosphere. A bit noisy but because of that we could also talk loudly with each other and enjoy it.

I was looking for a halal place to celebrate my son's graduation. The booking was easy and then I ordered the cake online from their bakery. I would recommend this, as it was just so simple. The venue is good, and the food was tasty. One small point if you order the platters but are on a long table, it might be best to ask them to split it into 2 halves. We had a really lovely afternoon. Parking is however a bit tricky so maybe a cab would be better.

We had a wonderful family dining experience at Deli Fuego. The Chicken Musahab was tender and smoky, and the Lamb Kufta was flavorful. It was a memorable experience thanks to the impeccable service provided by the staff

One of my favourite Mediterranean restaurants in Cardiff. Kids booked this for Father’s Day and I was delighted to dine in with them and the grandkids as well 😀
