Deerah Lebanese Cafe/restaurant in Belfast

Lovely little Lebanese place, the service and atmosphere were absolutely amazing. Only thing that was disappointing was the food, the portions were tiny for the price. Taste wise the food was good but really hope they can increase the portions a tiny bit!

Classic dishes simply served but well cooked and good value. A busy place to eat even on a Monday is a good sign. You may want to book at busy times! Thanks to all the staff.

Lebanese snack bar/restaurant, food average, staff well, could be better. I can't recommend it any further.

The food was very tasty and the price was reasonable. What let's this restaurant down was it's lack of atmosphere or vibe, partly due to the almost sullen attitude of the waitress who served us. No amount of kind words or gratitude made any difference to her. She was determined to be morose.

The food was kinda lacking in flavour and the ambience wasn’t exactly lively. A bit of a dry experience overall.

I'm from Bradford, so never really expect to enjoy food in other cities as, more often than not, end up disappointed because we just have too many great options. But here I am in Belfast and Deerah iCafe s up there with a good shout. Really tasty food with a great service. Abdul Rahman even let me pray Maghrib as it was sunset time. Felt home from home. Highly recommend

The food was delicious but prices have rocketed far more than their competition in the last two years while the portion size is about 1/3 of previous orders at £7 plus for a small tub of hummus. Costs more for a lot less. And £.170 for one flat bread

I visited the restaurant yesterday and ordered Shish Tawook and Shawarma. The Shawarma was not good, and the meals did not include bread. When I requested bread, the restaurant charged me 2 pounds for it. This is greed and exploitation. It was a bad experience. I paid 54 pounds, and it was not worth it at all. I want my money back.

Went for a quick weekday lunch. Though place wasn’t crowded had excellent food cooked and served fresh! The Chicken Shawarma was cooked perfectly with fresh salad and Lebanese bread. Batata Harra(spicy potatoes) was well seasoned and flavourful. Mint tea to round off the meal. Extremely good service by the waiter to add to the great experience. Definitely recommended for the Lebanese food experience in Belfast!

I got take away and this was 7.50 pounds this much of tabouli salad. I also ordered falafels that were 4 lb and it was like four little falafels. Trying to figure out how all this came to like 15 lb and change in for two little snacks that was meant to be a dinner.

I normally dont write bad reviews but this i had to. We went there again on our visit to Belfast since our first experince was really good, lovely warm food, good service, we even went to eat there the next night and steak burger was to die for. But this time it was such a dreary place. Dirty floors and tables, food was not good at all, the waiter had long hair which was over the bill when he returned the bill, kept talking to himself while cleaning the table. He served us ok though. He just seemed tired and overworked. Felt bad for him. Since he seemed like a nice person. They seated us right infront of the toilet while upstairs and the rest of the restaurant was totally empty just 2 tables were occupied. There is barely any space between tables. Feels very uncomfortable. Toilet is right infront of the tables and could smell it all the time. Tea was the worst tasting tea in my life. Coke was half coke half water. My 13 year old said its better to drink water instead. Bread was not even made fresh. Same pita bread from any supermarket but not even warmed or grilled. We orderd kebah, chicken shawarma falafel and wings. Wings were good but the rest was so so. Food wa Will never ever go there again. We were so sad and miserable sitting there eating the not good tasted arabic food. I am big fan of arabic food so it was dissapointing. The only yummy part was hummus. I thought may be the owners are changed or sold business to some one else. Because last time it was great, warm and welcoming. On the bright side thankfully didnt get sick after wards. So i gave a star for that. They didnt accept card, cash only for some reason this time. All in all very bad experience. May be it was not our day.

Hummus was bland, bread was not warmed up, fattoush salad was meh (why use iceberg lettuce when prices are already a bit high!?), another dish had raw onion that was overpowering...

Tasty food, although not quite as good as the last time we were here but it was still nice. Their hummus is amazing. Salad was lovely but there was a bit much oil for my liking. Can't beat Lebanese bread it's the best! Omg the potatoes were beautiful 🤩 Our server was lovely and friendly. The toilet was clean and tidy. Edited my review as I didn't realise the chicken was done on the spit, just seemed different this time, but all good 😊

I ordered one Sandwish meat Shawarma , the taste was less than same sandwish in Lebanon , they should heat the bread of the sandwish to be more oily and browny , the restaurant is clean and service was fast .

I just realised that I've eaten here many times, but had forgotten to give you a review. I quite love the Arabic chicken shawarma here: when ordered with a bit lesser oil, it makes for a fantastic dish in terms of taste, the succulence of the chicken, and the portion size. The staff are quite friendly too, and the food arrives fast. I also love the Fairuz songs you play in the restaurant: I'm now a fan of her music as well. Objectively one of the best shawarma spots in Belfast.

£24 for a meat platter with not much meat on it. Rice was quite tasty and salad was fine. I asked to make mine spicy which they did. Toum sauce was nice. I really expected a food amount of meat for £24, that was the only let down.

The falafels themselves are incredible, but the falafel wrap is on a higher level, it's huge and delicious The batatas hara is incredibly spicy but tastes just as good The vibe is pretty chill and the decor is very nice

My first visit to Deerah and I wasn't disappointed. Beef brisket burger and chips, side salad and tobacco onions. There also 3 dips, garlic, chilli and a salad dressing. Everything was beautiful and cooked perfectly. The chips were 10/10. I'll definitely be back as it's only around the corner from my business. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I had a great meal here with my teenager, to celebrate the end of his exams. We had the baba ganoush, falafel, chicken shawarma and mixed grill, and shared dessert (can’t remember the name but it was a round sweet pastry with a mozzarella centre), and Lebanese coffee. The food was amazing and the service friendly - I’ll certainly be back soon.

Some of the portion sizes aren't the largest for the price, could also have more seasoning, ordered the Lamb Meshwi.

We had a nice meal from Deerah. Shish taouk was very nice - decent portions. The front of house staff Mr.Cameron was very welcoming and polite. He made our visit special. If you're around Belfast, give it a try.

The food was fine just overpriced a little bit, the service was okay , we ordered shawarma as sandwich but we received it in a plate and we asked for the bread they charge us extra for it .

The food is fine. The place is ok. We order some plates and they reject to give us tap water. The right to water is an element of "the right of everyone to an adequate standard of living for himself and his family" (Article 11 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights or ICESCR). And more when you are already paying for food.

I've been twice, and the food is phenomenal. Staff are lovely and friendly. Would definitely recommend it! Plenty of veggie and vegan options. I'm also gluten intolerant and was able to find a few things to try. Not sure how coeliac would fare. Service is a little slow, but bearing in mind they're making so much fresh it's understandable.

Waited 45 mins for a chicken burger and chips to take out. I won’t be returning anytime soon. McDonalds would have been tastier and much cheaper. ( I don’t eat at McDonalds) £9.50!

The Boss cares about quality of his food. Also the chefs cook as of they are cooking for themselves. You can really taste the difference.

Food was excellent. Both our main course and starter were full of flavour. Unfortunately all dishes came out at the same time. The service was not good unfortunately. We had to wait 50 minutes for our food. They had taken a large booking of 20 guests which had slowed the service down. The restaurant was also far too noisy and we were unable to have conversation whilst we ate. The waiting staff were slow and quite unprofessional. When the waitress was clearing other tables she placed the food waste on our own table which felt very rude and unhygienic.

Went to try some vegetarian dishes, I tried falafel, vine leaves, its super tasty.

Quite tasty, but the salad was a overdressed with oil; the vegetables were literally swimming in it, and the shawarma lacked a bit of sauce.

Popped in for some much needed food after a few afternoon beers. Very welcoming staff indeed. The menu was very authentic and the food was well prepared, fresh and very tasty. Well worth a visit if you want some authentic Lebanese food.

Have eaten here before and enjoyed the meal. Tonight though was not as good. Food was lovely but was spoilt by two things. We asked for tap water and were told we could only have bottled water, so we're forced to spend £1.80 on a small 500 ml bottle. Secondly, the menu clearly states that Charcoal Grilled items are served with Grilled Tomato, peppers, onions, parsley, bread and a choice of chips are rice. I ordered charcoal grilled lamb Meshwi. The food arrived and it was only when I saw bread being delivered to another table that I realised bread was missing. I asked the waiter if bread was included in my dish, to which the reply was, no. Not having a menu in front of me and thinking I may have read the menu wrongly I just carried on eating. I did though remember last time I had the same dish that I put some of the lamb and salad between bread. When coming to pay I looked at the menu by the till, and it confirmed I had read the menu correctly, so I asked the waiter again as to why I did not receive bread with my meal. His reply was that I did not have a charcoaled grilled item- what is a charcoaled grilled item if not a dish that is described as being " charcoal grilled tender lamb cubes", His response to me pointing out which dish I had ordered was to just walk away to the back of the restaurant. Either the wording in the menu needs to change or an apology for a missed item for a meal should occur.

Mixed grill swarma and falafel review. If you travel to Belfast, make sure to try this place. The flavors are traditional, and the service is great.

Hidden gem in Belfast city centre, was in today as a customer and I can’t recommend this place enough, outstanding and friendly server we had and the food to die for, feels like a slice of Lebanon in Belfast

Was in earlier today with family. I had mix grill and mezza mix of hummus. Great authethentic food and meat is halal which is not easy to find in belfast

Very bad experience. The food below any expectations. Oily and greasy. No taste at all. Packageing was really poor. Even the fries disgusting. Not to recommend to anyone.

A bit of mixed feelings. Pop in for a quick bite as it was lunch time and weather outside were too horrible to walk somewhere else. Place was nearly empty(just 1 more table occupied). We ordered Hummus, 2 pita shawarma and 2 ayrans. Ayran wasn’t on the menu but once asked we’ve been assured they have it. Ayran came full of ice and diluted to level it tasted like yogurt cup which just been rinse out. After 20 minutes shawarma’s came but no sign of hummus which meant to be a starter. Once reminded, hummus came through as well(unfortunately pita bread was stone cold). Swarma itself was one of the best I had lately, cooked to perfection, nicely spiced and crispy just right. We ordered Turkish coffee which came in original cezve, very stylish. Waiter itself was very nice and friendly, just a wrong day I guess.

We were seated promptly for a quick lunch, and the chicken sandwich, along with the hummus and fattoush, tasted delicious and authentic. The service was impressively fast, making it a satisfying experience.

Top spot to watch city go by and enjoy lovely atmosphere and Lebanese food. Love the Lebanese coffee but espresso one of the best in the city 😀 ☕

Beef shawarma was awful, it made my mate sick.

Honestly, one of the best beef burgers I've had.

Everything we ordered was delicious. We ordered kafta mashwi and chicken shawarma platter both of them were perfect the portions were more than enough and the dressing on the fattosh salad was amazing. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Good food, great place and awesome service

We ordered chicken wings-jawaneh and El deerah salad for the starters and for the mains, mixed grill, shawarma chicken platter and an extra portion of rice. We waited a little bit longer for our orders, but the staff was very polite and kind to apologise for it since there were a lot of orders in the queue (four groups for dine-in and a few orders for take away). It was worth the wait cause I really enjoyed the food, especially the mixed grill. Chicken wings were a little bit dry but still tasty. The chicken shawarma was excellent, too. I love the salad as well. Everything was a delightful experience. The service was outstanding. To make up for the time we waited, we had complimentary baklava for dessert—such a sweet gesture. Despite the minor setbacks, the staff and the food and service were all superb. I don't see any reason not to give it a five. Highly recommended.

The service was good, our server knew the menu well. The lamb was a bit well done for our liking. The hummus neaded a bit more seasoning. Overall we enjoyed the food.

It was bloody cold, seriously too cold to be enjoyable. Also no Guinness, which disappointed me, and thus some shame on our son for making the booking. Food was OK. since I am not really qualified to judge Lebanese food, since it was my first experience.The lovely young woman who took our order was unfortunately not a native English speaker and communication was therefore a little difficult. So all in all a little disappointing, for me anyway.

Food is great - unfortunately detracted by the always broken oven (limits menu), freezing temperature (put on the heating) and unenthusiastic waiters.

Food was ok but the clay oven wasn't working which eliminated most of the menu, we weren't told this until the waiter came to take the order which was a bit poor. The waiters didn't clear the starter dishes when they brought the mains which was weird and meant we had to stack our own plates on the side. What we did have was good but more of a lunch type of meal and not what I was looking forward to. Good price for what we got. Baklava was beautiful.

Very accommodating, staff friendly and helpful. Food was gorgeous, all freshly cooked. Good veggie / vegan / gf options. No alcohol served but you can bring your own booze. Great place.

Appalled by the ratings this place has. Food felt like it was bought at Tesco and served. 🤷 Maybe the grills are nice, but we had the very basics, tabbouleh, hummus and bread - felt store bought. Best thing we had was the glass of water (no exaggeration). 😅 Bringing down the service rating by another star, after the lovely reply from the restaurant. ✌️ I know Lebanese/Middle Eastern cuisine and this wasn't anywhere near that. Wasn't expecting London quality/taste, but not Tesco either. 🤷

Very authentic Lebanese restaurant with delicious food. I had Lamb Kibbeh and Chicken Shawarma another day and the food was bursting with flavour and just hit the spot. Very good value for money in a central location.

My first afternoon in Belfast, I had their lamb kibbeh which came with flavorful pilaf rice. The rice reminded me of Donne Biryani back home and I had 2 portions of the rice. I got some mint hot water to wash it down and clear my pallette after my dining. Another afternoon I had the swme with chicken and the bird's usually dry meat oozed with divine juices. Everytime I go, I can't resist ordering another portion of the pilaf rice. Subhanallah! The folks running and working in the place are so easy to converse with despite our geographical alienity. May they serve more people for a really long time.

We ordered mixed shwarma, lamb meshwi, chicken nuggets and chicken goujons via ubereat. Food was cold, fries were stale and meat was very dry and possibly old which may have been refried. Order costed over 50 pounds but food was not really worth it. Quantity of food did not correspond with the price tag. Will not order again from this place.

The owner is extremely friendly and gave us baklava and some of his hummous to try:):):) high recommended, grazie tante! *In italiano Cibo squisito, dagli ingredienti alla presentazione, verdure e olio di altissima qualita', ambiente caldo e confortevole. Proprietario gentilissimo simpatico e giustamente molto fiero del suo locale. Abbiamo preso una piada falafel un taboule' e un babaganoush e erano eccezionali! Grazie mille dell'esperienza e' stato un piacere.
