Dami Sushi Japanese & Korean Restaurant in Sutton

Came here with partner for Valentine's Lunch. Delicious Korean BBQ. Now don't have to go to New Malden. OK for standard sized wheelchair access as well.

I have probably ordered around 40 times from this restaurant in the last 3 years and every time gets better. While I haven’t been to the restaurant (yet), I am their top customer according to Uber Eats - highly recommend chicken katsu, teriyaki and salmon bibimbap. Food is always piping hot when it gets delivered and freshly made. Love you Dami Sushi, thanks for making my Saturday night life happy.

We had heard about this restaurant from our daughter who lives nearby and were keen to try it. So we ordered by phone at the weekend and went to collect it. All ready - on time - reasonable price and very pleased that we did! All round good food - including Nasu Dengaku (Deep fried aubergine with special miso sauce), Chicken Yaki Soba (Japanese Style Stir Fried Thin Noodles with Chicken and Vegetables) and Chicken Katsu (Deep Fried Chicken Cutlet In Rich Katsu Sauce Served with curry and rice ) but the best was the Beef Teriyaki (Grilled Beef with Teriyaki Sauce with Rice). Well worth it!

We’ve been ordering great Korean food for delivery from here for the last few years. Food has always been promptly delivered and good quality for a reasonable price. Last time we ordered they demanded it be over £40, but website clearly say £30 for delivery. We challenged but accepted the new minimum and increased the order (extra item wasn’t initially delivered, they insisted on delivering later rather than refund). Today we order via their website and over 2 hours later, no delivery. We called and they claim no knowledge, no real apology initially, (the lady we spoke to later was apologetic but now it’s too late), but it’s their website and we have their email confirmation and order number. Whole family is hungry and having a very busy work and first school week, no food, now struggling to get refunded (multiple phone calls, eventual apology). Service appears to be going downhill fast - we will certainly think twice before ordering delivery again from here, which is sad as loyal customers after years of good food (and previously good service). Please get organised again!

I've ordere dumpling for starter and some chicken noodles for main. The dumplings was so tasteful and juicy. I've ordered first time but I'm sure I'll order again. Highly recommend for my friends and for anyone who luke the high quality Japanese food.

I ordered the largest sashimi platter last night AS A TAKEAWAY. 42 pieces. Also a soft shell crab tempura. I was more than disappointed. The tuna was not fresh and it was brown. The texture was so wrong. Not that I tried it but I did pick it up. Also they included 9 ‘cut down the centre prawns’ which were not raw. Everything on a platter of sashimi should be raw! The scallops weren’t sliced they were chunks. Not good. I don’t want to mull over the call to the restaurant or what was said. That isn’t what this review is about. The reason I’m writing this is because I was called by a charming lady this afternoon, who’s name I didn’t get. After identifying herself as being from the restaurant she asked if I was home. I wasn’t. She said she was very very sorry about last night’s delivery, ( which Uber Eats refunded) The reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because of the prawns and the scallops. She told me they had delivered some new tuna sashimi and vegetable gyoza, they were outside my front door! I was very touched by the gesture. I’m home now and the tuna is beautiful as are the gyoza. SO THANK YOU FOR TURNING AN UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE into an excellent one. Caring thoughtful customer service. I will return.

We had orders 2 seafood noodles for me and my son but it was so spicy and no prawns and almost nothing about seafood only four mussels. Taste horrible please don’t order any seafood from there and are really spicy. Really disappointed. Never ever again

As take aways reopened after lockdown we wanted something that felt like a restaurant experience but at home and wanted to support more local businesses than the chains. We had got food from Dami Sushi many times before and knew how nice it was. We was not disappointed the food was amazing as ever, you can not fault the quality and presentation. Everyone was asking where we got it from when we posted it online and we ended up ordering 3 more times after.

Firstly I decided to collect the food and when I entered the restaurant the staff were so kind and friendly and gave the warmest of welcome to me. The food was absolutely delicious! All the dishes we ordered were very fresh, hot and had wonderful flavours too! If you want Japanese/Korean food this is the place! The price is a little on the pricey side, but you pay for what you get and this is very much worth it! So do not hesitate about ordering from here! You will not be disappointed! Thank you everyone at Dami Sushi! You will be seeing me again very soon. Ben

Ordered a delivery or various sushi and teriyaki chicken. Simply delicious! Best sushi around without a shadow of a doubt. We love this place!

The food is fantastic here. Definitely come with an appetite because I can never agree to stick to just one dish. The staff are so sweet and friendly too, and for the amount of food you get you will not pay much. The BBQ sets are delicious - they will begin cooking the food on the plate in front of you but you can then control when you want to take it off, if someone likes their beef cooked for longer etc.

Was delivered well in advance of the estimated time from Just Eat. However, I would have appreciated the Katsu Chicken that little bit more if there actually had been some Katsu sauce. Advertised as with rice and vegetables. Otherwise, it is just fried chicken and rice (which is what you sent me). Got to say that £40+ for an order and you fail to actually meet the order is very poor. No response from Dami Sushi themselves. Obviously, too much bother to care. I feel ripped off. Possibly because I was. Never again!

For my 65th birthday my daughters decided to take me to this local sushi restaurant. Having only had sushi once before I am always up for something different. I must say it was very enjoyable, the food excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. Even my wife enjoyed it. She had said at first that she didn't want to come along. Her comment was "It's all raw fish". It certainly isn't and at the end of the evening she turned round and said "That was lovely". Looks like we will be going back.

My wife was looking for somewhere a little different for my birthday. She found this place, and wow. The menu choice is excellent serving both Japanese and Korean cuisine. We opted for a starter of mixed Goyza, and then went for the Korean BBQ. Essentially the tables have a hot plate, and the waitress cooks all the food for you at the table, the food was outstanding, the experience excellent. This was a great find, and we intend to return in the very near future to sample the vast choice of Sushi and Sashimi. Very highly recommended.

Nice, clean Restaurant. Went there as a family with a pre booked table. Was completely empty when we got there and left. Starters were good, but vegetarian mains were a decent helping but no taste. Would not recommend.

The sushi at Dami is impeccable. The other reviews do this sushi restaurant justice, it really is fantastic. Very tasty miso, thick and rich sashimi, and plentiful maki rolls too. Definitely recommend the soft shell crab tempura and the kimchi broth too. Great service, super food.

I discovered this restaurant through tripadvisors, and since then we have become regulars. The staff is really nice, the food always tastes amazing and fresh, there is a great selection, I love it! Favourites are the boneless ribs for a grill (you can make it at the table just like in Korea), kimchi, spicy edamame, sunflower roll, philadelphia roll, rainbow roll & probably many more I can't think of rn! For sushi / authentic Korean food it has a very reasonable price on top of everything. Love love love it, I could eat here every second day!!!

Went as a couple and had a wonderful time. Great menu, court not stop ordering. So much fun being able to mix and match Korean food with sushi. It was all yummy and unpretentious like a lot of sushi places in London. Good prices, attentive and friendly staff would recommend to anyone who just likes that kind of food or wants to try authentic Japanese/Korean dishes without paying a boatload of money.

We ordered a take away from here. Although we had ordered our take away to be delivered in the evening, it was delivered 90 minutes before its due time. We were busy doing family stuff, so we didn't send the delivery man away. Following that great disappointment, the sushi was just average. We will not order from them again.

Great service, and great food! The Tofu Katsu curry is the best I've had yet and the vegetables are always fresh. When I used to eat fish, this was a great little spot for fish-based meals. Their Korean barbecue and sushi just delicious. Just wished they served Jajamyeon!

We tried the restaurant last night to compare our favourite Korean restaurant Jing Go Gae in New Malden. A lady took us to our table was friendly which was a nice start.

We discovered this restaurant a few months ago by chance, and since then have been here as a couple, a family and ordered a few takeaways too. It's become our favourite local restaurant and has never disappointed, when dining in the staff are great, friendly and family run I believe. We've tried as much of the menu as we've been able to, including the korean BBQ (favourite is the marinated beef), lots of different sushi (favourite is the spider crab roll) and a good range of katsu, noodles and udon etc.

Really good meal. Lovely sushi and divine Korean BBQ. My only annoyance is that it is far from us and don't deliver to SM6, please extend the area!

I was looking for a sushi restaurant in the area, this popped up in trip advisor so we decided to give it a try. Popped over during lunch on Saturday it wasn’t crowded so found a free parking space in front of the restaurant which was a bonus. We tried their sushi and calamari everything was lovely and fresh. Really liked their sushi which were made to order. And the staff greeted us with a wonderful smile. The price was decent. Cant wait to pop over again to try their korean dishes.

Popped in as I’d always wanted to try it. The pork gyoza were amazing as was the salmon and tuna nigiri. The udon noodles with beef wasn’t to my liking but on the whole, a nice, authentic experience. Service was friendly. Reasonably priced. Would return.

Absolutely delightful experience. A wide ranging, easy to understand, menu, and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff are friendly and happy to talk you through the food options. Nice atmosphere and the evening was great value for money. We were a group of 8 and all left replete and full of praise.

This is my second time there. The food was full of surprises. They had the sushi dragon roll and deep fried crispy duck sushi roll. They were very very good taste. However, the deep fried chicken with chilli was excellent. Very crispy and chilli tasty. Korean would happy with it with lager beer. The BBQ meats were marinated with different sauces. Definitely recommended.

Had a dinner tonight and It was delicious! The service was so welcoming and cheerful and helpful. The complimentary salad was so fresh that I had a second serving! We shared japchae & mixed gyoza ... so good! Also shared a squid and a beef BBQ. The waitress was amazingly helpful showing us what ta do as we hadn't tried it before. It was so tasty and I would definitely have it again. The table next to us were having a mixed seafood/fish BBQ that looked very tasty!

Very pleasant dinning experience, highly recommend the soft crab and the chilli chicken as a party of 6 we were able to order lots of different starters and main course s so we all had a bit of everything .... the staff were very cheerful and friendly couldn't do enough for us even obliged us with Irish coffees which are not available on the menu , keep up the good work pleasant dining experience for a reasonable price.

I'm ever so pleased with this restaurant. The food is really tasty and fresh. More so that my kids were served with a smile by Santi and she was so attentive. I'll definitely come here again.

I have eaten in many restaurants on all of the five continents but never expected to find a great restaurant within walking distance of my home. This restaurant has seen many changes over the years but has never been a success until now. This was my second visit in a week and the food was fantastic. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I previously ordered a delivery from this place in August 2016 while my partner lived locally. We were pleasantly surprised! Our meal was wonderful, everything arrived promptly and was presented well. Best way to describe it: "restaurant quality in a takeaway".

I have tried this place once before and found it quite good. However, this time we ordered takeaway on a Wednesday night. It took over an hour for the food to arrive and when it did it was cold and of middling quality.

My son (9yr) and I popped in for a cheeky weekday dinner. It was early and the restaurant was quiet with only one other table occupied, although they were busier with deliveries. We started with a complementary bowl of salad, and then had chicken yaki soba and some edamame beans. Pricing is reasonable, and our food was delicious. Next time we will try the sushi!

Went to have lunch with my family, beautiful little quiet place that offers some delicious Japanese and Korean dishes. Portion sizes are fantastic - definitely worth a visit!!

The restaurant is so neatly laid out and simple, yet the food is fantastic, in terms of quality and value for money. The sweet sauce chicken is so far the best I have ever tried in London.

Followed by Chicken Katsu Udon (soup) and Salmon teriyaki with rice. All food was well presented, tasted great and served well by friendly staff.

Having dinner with friends over there. The lady boss recommended us to tried soju mixed with beer and it was quite nice actually. The aubergine with miso sauce was nice that we ordered 2 plates at the end. The BBQ just so nice for £26.50 set that was full of meats. I will come again for the BBQ and aubergine. They were beautiful.

Superd food. Natural ambience. One of the few independent restaurants worth going to.a warn and friendly welcome with fantastic customer service, I will definitely come again and recommend you to a friends for their special occasion.
