Fantastic Sunday lunch. The roast potatoes and the braised red cabbage in particular were absolutely delicious. The place has a nice, cosy vibe and is filled with historic artefacts & memorabilia to look at. The only thing that let them down is when we asked to swap a highchair for a normal chair they said they didn’t have any at all, but then saw them taking chairs out of storage for other guests later on. Also people in our group had a couple of things missing off their roasts, but other than that it was lovely. Would definitely recommend!

Our party of 14 (10 adults plus kids) visited for a 70th birthday lunch. On Sunday we arrived at 2.15 and it was packed with people enjoying a pint or 2, many eating lunch too. All the adults picked the Roast beef main meal and it was perfectly cooked and came with the obligatory Yorkshire Pudding and a range of vegetables. The beef was spot on and the vegetables were not overcooked,. The kids selected from the kids menu but most of them had smaller sized adult meals. A range of drinks were consumed, including their own Dambuster's real ale and Guinness 00. We then had a range of desserts followed by tea and coffees. The final bill came to just over £25 a head, excellent value for what we enjoyed. It is a very busy pub so you need to book if possible.

Great food apart from roast potatoes lovely pub less than 100 meters from where I live. Was there on Remembrance Day for Sunday roast. Considering the military heritage of this pub I was disappointed there was no blue light or veterans discount. The haggis was awesome

Literally cannot fault the place except when my young daughter needed her nappy changing and there was nowhere at all to do it. I fully appreciate that space is very limited but if you even had a changing mat tucked away somewhere that people could ask for it would make all the difference and save little people having their nappies changed on cold tile floors in the corridor as we had to resort to today. Seems a shame when so much money and effort has gone into making it lovely that this facility couldn't have been included. Absolutely fantastic food, service and atmosphere though. Will definitely return...with our own changing mat!!

Absolutely STUNNING!! The food was delicious! Make sure you book if it's a Sunday roast you're after, we were lucky to have been squeezed in, and when I say lucky, I'm not exaggerating. The food was gorgeous. We had the roast beef followed by a banoffee roulade and a biscoff pudding. The staff are dedicated and happy, and you can really tell. If there is one thing I would say... it would be good to offer service men and women a military discount. After all, the pub is in the name of the dambusters and has military regalia everywhere. It's like a little mini museum with the bonus of amazing food and a friendly atmosphere. Especially for a village pub, as "outsiders" we were made to feel like their own. Superb!! Thank you for making our Sunday one to remember

The food was absolutely lovely but the service was dire! We waited 20 minutes to have our plates cleared, at which point we asked for a desert menu. We left 15 minutes later as we had not seen one. I had watched the waitresses talking to each other so not sure why we had not had our menu?

Great atmosphere and memorabilia is amazing Main courses Steak pie and scampi were excellent however steak was not the best quality for the price Desserts were served without cutlery and so we had to ask at bar for spoons The trifle had to be returned as it was too crunchy in the custard These were then not removed from bill until pointed out at payment Having been on several occasions previously was overall disappointing (previously rate a 5* ) Can only presume it was because it is bank holiday weekend and they were busy

Incredible Sunday lunch. Freshly cooked local produce generous portions tender meat. Our table also had sausage & mash, the chilli &rice just when we thought we didn't have room for dessert we saw them come out to another table and was tempted. The biscoff cheesecake was something delicious and different being served with biscuit base on the top. We also had sticky toffee sponge and custard but had to share The decor and artifacts and memorabilia male the dambusters linking this gorgeous village pub to its roots. A must for any foodie and aircraft enthusiast. We'll definitely be back soon

What a wonderful memorial and heritage location, alongside an award winning pub. The food is top quality, and I love the slow roasted pork and the venison burgers. Some of the best food and service I have experienced. The heritage tributes inside the pub give a real look back at RAF Scampton's Dambuster crews. Well done, Steve, for creating a local pub that is historic Haswell as serving local real ales.

Had booked a table for a Saturday night, which is advisable as it was very busy. Had a friendly welcome at the bar on arrival, ordered some drinks and we were then taken through to our table. Much bigger than it looks from the outside. Tastefully decorated and in keeping with the history of Scampton and links to the former RAF Scampton. Ordered our food which came quickly and it was very tasty. I ordered the garlic mushrooms, followed by scampi and chips. Good portions. Not too small and not huge. Just the right size. The food is reasonably priced and of good quality. The only criticism I had was the food service. We were sat on a table for 6 when there were 4 of us. All the food and drinks were delivered to the end of the table and not to the individuals. There was enough space to deliver to the individuals sat at the table. Had to ask for missing cutlery. Only being picky having worked in the industry for 30 years. Didn't ruin the experience and would return. Improved attention to detail would only enhance this already great venue. Would recommend a visit.

Visited this lovely little gem earlier with family as a stop on our way to the seaside. My little one had the children's meal deal box which was an incredible bargain. We all opted for the quiche with garnish and it did not disappoint. The ladies serving and preparing the food were lovely. No questions were too much and they took an interest in my little one which he loved. It is very intimate inside, so if you're wanting a lot of room then outside might be better. Didn't matter to us though. Thanks so much for your hospitality. We will definitely visit again!
