Da Vinci in Aberdeen City

Used to be a family favourite but has become an absolute avoid. Food was abysmal: minestrone soup that was just a basic, flavourless vegetable broth; pizza arrived cold and with a cheap out-of-season squash to replace the advertised pumpkin, the cheese was congealed so it had clearly been left out waiting. Staff tried to argue that it was “the Italian way for the meat to be cold” which is the funniest excuse I’ve ever heard and I’ve lived and worked in Italy so I know that’s not true. A hilarious 12.5% service charge automatically on the bill even though the entire service we received was someone (after a long wait) taking our order and (after another long wait) delivering our food, which last I checked is what their wages pay for and does not deserve a tip. Didn’t bother staying for the “award winning tiramisu” considering everything, and that we couldn’t even have a conversation with the terrible acoustics, but saw it at a neighbouring table and it was just a pot of cream with no layers in sight which is not authentic tiramisu in the slightest. Overpriced and overrated.

Da Vinci restaurant is really quite good. We got the wild boar ravioli, vegan gnocchi, bruschetta, and polenta with mushroom sauce. Panacotta and cheesecake for dessert. Gnocchi could have done with a bit more flavor and sauce. But everything else was very delicious. Highly recommended.

Went with my family tonight, absolutely Delicious food and the people were lovely. Fire was on and every table taken on a Thursday night (rightfully so!). Will 100% be back and the fact it’s dog friendly is an added bonus that will certainly get our repeat custom. Thank you!!

Small, but cozy. Delicious food and a very efficient staff. An all-star performance by the front and back of the house. I had the fiochetti, which was prepared perfectly. Such an amazing dish that I'm always excited to see on a menu, and the reason we came. The wife had the lamb and potatoes, and she was a fan. The kid had a cheese pizza, and nearly ate the entire thing. Again, this is not the largest establishment. But, for only one server and a runner, could easily be overwhelming. Especially considering we were all sat at the same time. She knocked it out though. I have to imagine the kitchen is a small crew as well, and for the complexity of the dishes, the level of preparation and presentation, the quality, and the timeliness of completion, was very impressive. Thank you for an enjoyable evening, well done, and we will definitely be back!

probably the best Italian restaurant in Aberdeen . Was at a winetasting (excellent) with antipasti followed by the best beef cheeks i have ever eaten ,soft full of flavour to die for. On top of that Elena and her team give the best service .

Fabulous, I spent my sabbatical in Italy last year so appreciate delicious food when I find it. The parcels filled with cheese and pear and salt cod did not disappoint..I will return and recommend to friends.

My friend and I wanted to try this little Italian restaurant and unfortunately was very disappointed, on looking at the uninviting menu which had very little options to choose from starters and mains were very limited and to be honest a very boring menu. We didn't have starters as due to lack of choice. When the food arrived we were both surprised at the very small Portions, and the Parmesan cheese you got was barely enough to cover the dish, ridiculous small bowl, the Garlic bread was extremely DRY could barely taste and see the garlic butter, the salad was pathetic and uninviting, glad we didn't have desserts as we saw another diner having the Tiramisu it looked very creamy and very small 2 spoons and gone in seconds, so yea we didn't even have coffee either. Didn't want to waste more money in this place. Basically the restaurant was EMPTY when we arrived for a sat this place should be busy, now I know why judging by other people's reviews!!!! The seats were very uncomfortable, and the ambulance was not what we were expecting, the owner was particularly rude and kept saying we are closing numerous times, we didn't have time to finish our wine in peace, so we felt we were being rushed out the door, we stood up and downed our glasses of wine not once did the owner allow us to enjoy our wine. WE WERE STARVING after our mea when we left this restaurant, SHOCKING. Don't WASTE your hard earned money going to this place, very EXPENSIVE, TINY PORTIONS, RUDE OWNER, won't be coming back, there is far better restaurants there.

Homey restaurant in a tucked up alleyway in Aberdeen. They have a good selection of veggie/vegan food and the tiramisu has no alcohol which is actually quite hard to find. Tasted amazing!

Probably the one and only restaurant in Aberdeen which offers a true Italian and Tuscan experience! An extensive menu with typical dishes from Tuscany and Italy, relaxing atmosphere, friendly and competent staff and obviously, top quality food! Definitely the one place you don't want to miss so, if you haven't been there yet, well, you should definitely make some time and enjoy a great experience at Da Vinci!

Loved my visit to this lovely little restaurant. The decor is great and there's a very cosy atmosphere, with a very polite and welcoming lady serving. The food was amazing and the chef kindly boxed up my dessert for me to takeaway. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options too which was great.

The tables are so close that you hear everyone around you talking at the same time, a suffocating experience. Really bad

If I could, I would give 0 stars. Horrible service, horrible atmosphere/acoustic, tables are too close to each other, waitress shouting in my ear because the place was so loud, horrible salty food! Italian food is my favourite, but this restaurant is definitely the worst I have been to. I went to this place with a few friends and we had the worst experience for such an expensive bill! I am staying in Aberdeen for a few nights in my friend's house and they really wanted to give me a great experience, I left there hungry and with a headache. Service: I asked the waitress for some napkins, which was never delivered, despite the fact we were looking at her and waiting for it. I had to get up and get some napkins from a used table! And to charge 12.5% for service after all the horrible experience felt wrong. Food: The pizza was so salty I didn't manage to each a single slice. Prosciutto too chewy. Dough too soggy (of all pizzas). Too expensive for what you get! Atmosphere/acoustic: SO LOUD IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE A CONVERSATION WITH SOMEONE NEXT TO YOU! The room temperature was too high. We were so hot! Only 1 female toilet was working, which made me wait for ages to get to use it! Message to the owner/manager: your attitude towards criticism is unacceptable! Your google review replies are so petty and shady! "We are not here to make friends" is that what you call good customer service? You definitely missed that class! I don't recommend this place to anyone and I am never coming back!

Amazing food and restaurant but the service is always bad. The blonde lady is super rude and cold. Nevertheless the service was quick and the food is always on point

There were two of us having dinner and we didn't have a reservation. We were given another place (elevated to sit, by the barrel). Reservations recommended. The food, we had salad, pasta and pizza, was very tasty and was served in a reasonable time.

Lovely meal here on a Saturday evening. My partner's brother booked the table but could only get 5.15pm, which is usually a little early but this became obvious as to why. The restaurant is very popular and became very busy, very quickly - that said, we didn't feel on top of other tables or felt it was too noisy. The staff were lovely and attentive and the food was delicious

You delivered the wrong meal. I ordered tagliatelle with ragu sauce, not the one with mushrooms.

Went to Da Vinci for some pizza. It was very tasty and the pasta menu seemed varied, however definitely over priced. For 2 pizza, one chips and 2 soft drinks we were nearly £50 that’s with a 12% of nearly £6 added to the bill which I feel is too much.

Lovely evening spent at Da Vinci with my family. The ambience is cozy, classic yet jazzy. The food and staff were all great. Definitely want to go back. Great pizza! Super desserts!

Food was good but service was very poor. Was rude to one of us, was impatient when taking our order especially with our child, claimed we hadn't booked a table although when the first guest arrived they were taking to our table and made a fuss about us having a voucher. When asked for the manager, was told they were the manager, very poor if that was true. Won't be back and wouldn't recommend.

Although the quality is alright. Definitely over priced and portion size is poor. Would not recommend the deserts as portion size is abysmal considering the cost.

Went for early, 6pm, meal as a couple. Food and service could not be faulted. Restaurant was a bit cold, but it was below freezing outside, and it would take a time to heat the inside. Will definitely be back.

Pizzas are amazing. Honestly the best pizza I have ever had. Atmosphere is great, log fire makes it cosy. Staff are helpful and efficient. Really recommend giving them a try 👌

This is a restaurant that was a firm family favourite, but we won’t be back due to the unacceptable, rude and confrontational behaviour of the owner at our most recent visit. We booked a table for 10, many weeks ahead, for a birthday celebration. We were asked to pre-order which we tried to do by phone 2 nights before the meal and were told it would take ‘too long’ to take the order over the phone. We then emailed the pre-order via the email address provided on the website. It was nearly an hour before the staff ask us for a food order at which point we discovered that the preorder had never been received. There had been no follow-up from the restaurant that has assured us of the need to preorder. Also, on arrival, we were told there was a £3 charge per-head (so £30) for bringing our own birthday cake. This hadn’t been mentioned when we made the booking despite me explicitly stating that the booking was for a 21st. At the end of the meal, we were having a private conversation and lamenting on how the restaurant service had fallen short of our expectations. We were prepared to chalk it up to ‘one of those things’, but, the owner came over to our table, said she’d been listening to our conversation and sat down. We expected she was interested to understand what had happened, but she seemed intent on blaming us for everything and was exceptionally confrontational. On trying to walk away from the owner, due to her behaviour, she could be heard screaming upstairs that we had not paid. However, the bill payer was waiting to pay waiting staff downstairs. The service shortcomings were unfortunate, but didn’t ruin the celebrations - it was the owner’s surprising and upsetting, confrontational behaviour did that.

The food is super salty not deserve any rewards so disappointed

Fantastic real Italian restaurant with a lovely taste of what Italian cuisine should be like. We highly recommend. And will definitely be back.

Food was good, felt the prices were quite high for what you got, did not appreciate a 12% service charge, we had no drinks or even water(our choice). We asked for chicken in our pasta dishes, felt the add-on price was high. My wife asked the server if they had shrimp to add to dish and the server acted like we were speaking a foreign language. Great place to try once...

Amazing authentic Italian , love the decore and the atmosphere is just lovely. Food was outstanding !! Best Italian in Aberdeen hands down. Staff are all friendly , lovely and helpful. 5 stars all round 🩷 The tiramisu is out of this world ! Venison lasagne is to die for .

I visited this restaurant with my friend and it was amazing. The restaurant itself is tucked away from the busy-ness of the city, the staff are attentive, helpful and very friendly. The food… unreal, I can quite honestly say this was the best food I have eaten in my lifetime, and such a surprise! The pasta is amazing, the cheese board for starters is a must (although quite filling just FYI) and the house red is beautiful. Absolutely recommend this place.

If you are in the mood for some pizza & pasta, Da Vinci's in Aberdeen is the place to go. I heard some great reviews from friends and wanted to give it a go myself, booking in advance is advisable as it can fill up really quickly although they charge you a £10 booking fee online to reserve a table which is a bit disappointing and you can't use it towards your bill either, it gets refunded at a later date. Da Vinci's is a modern quaint restaurant located on Alford Lane in Aberdeen, staff are really down to earth, friendly and really do give you a warm welcome. They have several menus including a set course menu, pizza menu and the normal main menu, pricing is a little expensive but for a family run business it is expected as the food is second to none, served hot, well presented and tastes delicious. I highly recommend trying a pizza although it would be good if they could add a spicy variant as I think that could be quite good. They do automatically add a service charge to the bill which I find disappointing as this is mainly found in England as we normally tip if out at a restaurant. So with the £10 booking fee and the service charge it did make it an expensive trip out for the evening but well worth it for the food quality. Will definitely be back to try some more pizza!

We ordered bruschetta, 2 pizzas, pasta with salmon sauce and panna cotta. For 60f food very poor. My pasta was sweet because someone put cold panna cotta on top of the warm food, all the panna cotta sauce was on my pasta. Also, the sauce was not sauce, it looked like it was mixed with white cheese. My bruschetta had wet bread all over because someone had put one on top of the other, the oven baked pizza was very average, and certainly didn't look like the pictures of the restaurant. Generally will not order again. And the problem with payment, because they don't accept cash, and there was an option on just eat, if someone doesn't accept some payment, just don't add it. However , the cash payment issue was quickly resolved .

The "sauce " looked like someone had mixed it with white cheese, the whole top of pasta was sweet because someone put a plastic cup of panna cotta. And all the sauce spilled over my pasta. In addition to pasta with salmon, bruschetta, panna cotta, we also ordered two pizzas for £60 very poor food... I will definitely not order again

Food was not the best . Pizza was brilliant Starters was nice as deserts From main we got guancia di manzo al vino Rosso and da Vinci mini porchetta. We didn’t enjoyed it at all.

Great little Italian restaurant

Pasta waa very garlicky, but not bad. No options for the usual carbonara or bolognese so wouldn't suit kids. It was very busy so quite loud but service was excellent and food came quicky. They also have a seperate section of the menu for vegans which is handy if needed.

One of the absolute best restaurants in aberdeen. Couldn't recommend it enough and kicking myself for not trying it sooner

Lo abbiamo trovato un po' per caso, girovagando in zona, google alla mano, in cerca di un posto dove cenare. È stata una piacevole scoperta. Locale un pochino defilato rispetto ai viali principali, il che gli attribuisce una atmosfera tranquilla. Personale giovane, attento, preparato e cortese. Le pizze si sono rivelate un'ottima scelta: impasto leggero e condimenti adeguati. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

Food was good, Service was a bit slow and the room got somewhat noisy with 2 big parties and wine.

Went here on Sunday with my boyfriend for dinner and we were blown away. The atmosphere was perfect, our waitress was so lovely and the food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back and recommending this hidden gem to everyone we know!

What a lovely cozy restaurant! Perfect for a date or going with family, but I think the atmosphere is especially good for a romantic dinner with someone special. The best Italian in Aberdeen by far, the second doesn't come even close. Price is good for a place of it's obvious category that has been awarded so many times. Service was efficient and the food... Well! Anything I can say about the food will come out short, so just come and see for yourself. We ordered the boar ravioli, the prosciutto pizza, bruschetta and a tiramisu as a dessert. All very advisable.

A really lovely restaurant. Authentic Italian, with a rustic feel. The food was fantastic, the server was really welcoming and friendly. Music was gentle and set the mood well. It’s quite a romantic place. As a point of improvement, If you can please change the noises from the restaurant phone and door. They are very loud and they really break up the atmosphere set by the lighting, the smelling candles and the music. Once that’s done, I think the restaurant will be the absolute best!

My husband and I shared a lovely evening here last night and couldn’t rate the restaurant high enough. It’s not a huge restaurant making for a genuinely relaxing and more enjoyable meal. The staff were all polite and couldn’t have been more courteous and helpful. We only went for a stater and main course which for both of us tasted fresh and good quality. If we were looking for going out to an Italian restaurant in Aberdeen again this would absolutely be our first choice.

Lovely authentic Italian food definitely worth a visit. I had the set menu 2 courses for £15 midweek bargain.

Overall was a lovely experience with good food and great service. Glad to see many vegan options for each course. The drinks (mocktails) can be improved a bit with better taste and presentation.

Enjoyed my meal here, the wild hog ravioli and the caprese salad were delicious. I have also had the monk fish on a previous visit and it was amazing.

Very disappointed! Portion of Pork belly stuffed with sausage was tiny, just fat, lukewarm and tasteless. Tiramisu was just a bowl of cream… no coffee sponge or flavour to be found.

Amazing food but unfortuante experience with staff. We made a booking same day (Saturday) and were told the table was only available for 1 hour. No problem since we had a concert to go to starting at 7:30. After taking our order and almost walking off before taking my drink order I was brought an alcoholic beer after ordering a non alcoholic peroni zero and having it confirmed. The starters came out shortly after and were amazing. 5 stars for the food we were served but after around 30-40 minutes after finishing our starters we inquired as our mains hadn't come and it was getting closer to 7pm when we had to leave. We were told we wouldn't have to leave at 7 as our mains hadn't come out yet. We waited until after 7pm when we said we had to go and couldn't wait any longer for our mains unfortunately. One waitress was very nice, apologetic and understanding. She had just walked out with our mains but we were waiting to pay for our starters and leave. That's when the original waitress/host was called to deal with us. We were then told "It's only been 1 hour. I thought you were here to enjoy yourselves. It's not Mcdonald's". This attitude after obviously forgetting to put our mains through as other tables who arrived after us received their food. Then the host had more attitude saying we should have said something if we had to leave, to which we replied yes, we did we asked where our mains were because we had to leave. Great food but horrible experience unfortunately. Have had lots of friends say they had good service there but the host wasn't great from the start and had a very poor and unprofessional attitude at the end. Ruined our night out.

Authentic Italian restaurant, with friendly staff. Booked on the phone, got a nice table and had a great time with nice cocktails and delicious food. Try the gnocchi, the homemade ragu is outstanding.

Welcome & service poor, impersonal, and disinterested. Long wait for food. My pork dish and roast potatoes were over cooked. There was a £2 surcharge for gluten-free pasta. Generally, it was not a good dining experience.

Loved this restaurant. Wonderful food and efficient but friendly staff. Really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Held my son's wedding reception here and the event was very special. We didn't want to go home!

Absolutely delicious lunch, would highly recommend.

I don't like leaving bad reviews but it helps others. We will not go back. It started with a £10 booking fee online (£10.50 including administrative fee). What's the privilege? Arriving on site, the booked room was not available because there was a party the previous day, the room hadn't been cleared and all customers were lumped together. Apple juice was ordered for our 10 yo child. Cider was delivered. Alcohol for a kid. Common sense? The gluten free option (GFO) is an option for the meal you choose, you have to ASK for that option. Don't assume the dish is THE option. Main courses size are small. The farfalle salmone had very little salmon in them. Especially for £12.50. My wife ordered cheeses for dessert, bread is charged £2 extra and came soiled with tomato sauce! We complained, it was taken back to the kitchen but still charged on the bill. I managed to get it taken off. All in all, the service is poor. We will not go back.

Holyyy... the food here is amazing! Incredible Vegan selection, and the staff are super friendly! Lovely little place if you want to have a beautiful meal with family or even by yourself with a book. Will be returning very soon.
