I ordered a 12 inch red velvet cake for our Ruby Wedding Anniversary celebration. It was delivered to the hotel exactly when I had asked, and tasted delicious. I have been going to cuckoo's bakery for years. They are definitely the best cakes in town. I stay local to the store in Bruntsfield, and it’s where I go when I want to treat myself or a friend. I always look forward to their seasonal cakes.The team are very creative, and the cupcakes taste sensational. The staff are always lovely and friendly too.

Absolutely delicious!! I’ve been meaning to go hear for a while and now I am so glad I did. We were greeted by a welcoming and friendly member of staff. She described with detail each cupcake which we enquired about. Since so many sounded lovely we decided to get 6 of them. They have also recently won an award for their cheese scones so I had to get one. The cupcakes were put in a nicely branded box. I was surprised how tasty these cupcakes were. The standouts were the Nutella cheesecake, which had amazing texture and cheesecake filling was wonderful, and the Christmas pudding which was so deliciously indulgent. When I took a bite of the Nutella cheesecake I said to my wife, “this could be the best cupcake I’ve ever tasted”. Then the following day I tried the Christmas pudding which made me question my original statement. The gingerbread cupcake was also excellent! As per recommendation I heated the scone up slightly and had it with some strawberry jam which was also very nice. Cupcakes are the winner though! Perhaps on the slightly expensive side but when they taste that good I don’t mind paying that little extra. I’ll 100% be back!

Cuckoos Bakery provided an outstanding service from first contact to home delivery. A beautifully crafted cake for a special birthday party. Complimented by everyone in the company–including the party venue staff. Superb! I could not recommend this independent bakery highly enough.

Over the years, I have bought cupcakes and celebration cakes from the Bruntsfield Cuckoos Bakery and they have always been top quality and totally delicious! The staff are super friendly too; and the business is also very supportive of its local community too with mind donations for various endeavours. A great asset to the already lovely Bruntsfield line up of independent businesses!

I wanted to spend my friends 30st birthday here and made sure to stop in a day earlier to make sure we had a table. When i entered this morning i encountered the unfriendliest waitress...cleaning the coffee machine or standing around was more important than greeting us or getting our orders...when asked if they could have a cup cake ready on the table for my friend i just received a angry stare and she waled away. what a horrible start to our day very disappointing...

This little cupcake store is a dream! On Karly’s food and drink tour we sampled beautifully crafted cupcakes that were delicious! The girl behind the counter was so helpful and friendly, it made our visit here all the more worthwhile! 5 stars!

I went there today to satisfy a cupcake craving, and got a banana cupcake with caramel frosting and filling. Absolutely delicious, so much so that I couldn't resist taking something else on the go. Very friendly staff as well, definitely recommend!

I visited Cukoo's Bakery as part of the 'A Wee Taste of Edinburgh' food tour. This is a lovely café/bakery whose cakes are excellent. In fact, I went back the next day to get some more.

I ordered some special 21st Unicorn cupcakes for my daughters birthday as we were travelling from so far, my daughter is at University and regularly shops at Cuckoo’s bakery. Sophie at the bakery took my order she was so polite, cheerful and helpful. The cupcakes arrived at our Hotel at the arranged time beautifully gift wrapped, even more stunning when we opened the box. The cupcakes themselves were delicious, I would highly recommend you try. Thank you to you all at the Bakery for a fantastic service and the most scrumptious cupcakes, hopefully see you very soon when we return.

Visited recently for the first time. When we arrived we were the only customers, but other customers arrived shortly after. My wife and I chose the soup (spinach and split pea), with cheese scones. Overall, we were very pleased. The soup and scone were delicious. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The lunch was value for money. The surprise was the number of customers coming to pick up orders for cakes. The Cuckoo's Bakery offer a range of cakes that are popular with carry-out customers. Recommended.

The Cuckoo Bakery serves up a range of delicious cakes, soup and sandwiches in a cosy, vintage style interior. A warm welcome from the friendly and welcoming staff set the tone for a lovely visit and the food and drinks were just as lovely. Top marks for the range of cupcakes on offer, including a vegan option. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place and I will most certainly be returning.

My husband suprised me with a cake for my birthday from here. Uneventful most of you will say. But I am lactose intolerant, I usually don't have cake. The cookies and cream vegan cake was sooooooo good I fed it to some sceptics and they loved it (they couldn't even tell it was vegan!!)

Fantastic café! My favourite in Edinburgh. Both branches worth a visit! The cupcakes were a delight to the eyes and the palate! The staff were also very friendly. I was served by Katrina, who was very enthusiastic and helpful!

First visit today and both the coffee and the cupcakes were excellent. Sticky toffee cupcake was top class and the coffee as good as anywhere else in Morningside. Really pleasant service with a smile too. Will definitely return.

I ordered a birthday cake online from Cuckoo’s Bakery at Bruntsfield which I collected myself. We were spending a long weekend in Edinburgh with friends and family. The cake looked beautiful and tasted delicious. The sponge was very moist and the salted caramel filling was really yummy!

The occasion was the May 2018 royal wedding. I was invited to a champagne tea to watch the ceremony and offered to bring cupcakes. Cuckoo's is right around the corner from where I'm living in Edinburgh for 4 months. The service was excellent, and a special box with round, cupcake-sized slots protected my purchase while I was in transit. But the best part was the flavors and HM insignia on the tops--elderflower lemon (which was the flavor of the real wedding cake, I believe) and maple bacon (to represent the American influence--delicious). The frosting was very generous and the cake tasty and of a fine texture. All day in the shop, the staff handed out complimentary pieces of a beautiful tiered wedding cake. In addition, they serve espresso drinks, which I haven't yet tried.

We were arranging a birthday party and decided to go for a selection of 18 of their cupcakes rather than just a cake.We ordered on-line and they were waiting neatly packed for us to collect from Bruntsfield Place. Wow! We were not disappointed. Absolutely gorgeous! Its almost worth going to Edinburgh just to enjoy the cupcakes. We had a selection of the Carrot Gluten Free, the Black Bottom and the Raspberry and White chocolate. As the birthday boy I got to try some of all three and I could not tell which was best. They were all outstanding!

Popped in for a coffee and ended up staying for lunch and walking out with two wonderful cupcakes. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The lunch menu is balanced and executed perfectly and good value for money.

I've been wanting to visit this place for quite a while since seeing it on snapchat in an article about the UK's best places for cupcakes. To my delight my sister sent me a box of the cupcakes whilst I was in hospital a couple of weeks ago and I can say with confidence that they were the best cupcakes (and best presented cupcakes) that I have ever had! I will definitely be going in soon!

Every time a cupcake urge comes up, there's nowhere else for me but Cuckoo's. The options may be limited, but they never disappoint and the coffee is pretty good too! Service is always great, can't find a reason to hate on them really! I love their Oreo cheesecake cupcakes in particular, but it was a special Father's Day one that only came up once but I've ordered a batch of 12 once for my birthday and cannot recommend it enough! So good!! It's a good thing it's not in their normal rotations then or else I'd never leave!

Just happened upon this place and it was awesome! Incredible vanilla cupcakes and a delicious coconut and white chocolate cookie with cream in the middle. The cappuccino was also great. Also had the red pepper and tomato soup with a cheese scone. Highly recommended! Come quick because they were almost completely out of food by 4 pm.

The cupcakes at cuckoo's are delicious, the black bottom one is really indulgent and such a treat. Also there is a lovely selection of teas and the serving staff are friendly.

Living in Edinburgh has been truly enhanced by visiting Cuckoo's Bakery as the cupcakes are so delicious. There are always great flavours to choose from and presentation is also great for an Instagram pic! Happily return time and time again!

I have never heard about this tiny place before, one of my friend offered to go there. The entrance and the first impression was so nice. When you pop in, you can see all of the cupcakes what the bakery currently have, and to be honest it's such a huge collection. We tried out the Blueberry and white chocolate & Strawberry and white chocolate cupcakes. They were delicious. The Orange blossom tea is fantastic!

I love this place so much! When I first discovered it I was wowed by the Diam bar cake and I became a regular customer after that! Everytime I pop in I'm treated to some exciting and tasty new treat made by Louise! Her coffees are also some of the best in the city. I would make the time to go here when visiting Edinburgh! And for locals I would suggest you add this to your regular spots as it is really something special.

Bought a box of mini cupcakes for friends as a thankyou gift and we all enjoyed them SO much! They have a great variety of full-sized cupcakes - especially their summer fruit range.

I haven't been in for cake/coffee but have bought a birthday cake for a special birthday. It was delicious and beautifully presented. I got the cake for 8 but I think we'll get double the amount of slices out of it. At £26 for the cake I think this is great value. Will definitely buy birthday cakes here more often.

'When in Bruntsfield.....' Was my excuse for arriving home after a manicure with a box of cupcakes! Too difficult to pass here without popping in for something! Love their classic raspberry and white chocolate cupcake and also loved the special the week I visited - French Martini cupcake... Yummy! Had to restrain myself this time from ordering a milkshake too but the coconut and strawberry ones are amazing!!

La gentilissima signorina ci ha comunque invitate ad entrare e a sederci, abbiamo consumato un tea delizioso in pieno stile britannico, e mangiato due cupcake buonissimi (purtroppo, essendo tardi, non era rimasta molta scelta) alla fragola e alla carota. Prezzi ottimi e servizio impeccabile, assolutamente un posto delizioso e da consigliare!

What amazing cupcakes! To take-away or sit in. Great variety of fillings and flavours. They also do scones, brownies and other tasty treats if there's anyone in your party who isn't a fan of cupcakes. The tea, coffee and hot chocolate is also great. The decoration is very nice.

This lovely shop sells amazing cupcakes and other yummy baking. They have a wide range of flavours. If you return your takeaway box to get it refilled you get 10% off your next order. They also have an app which allows you to get a 10th cupcake free.
