Crystal Kebab - Kings Cross in City of London, Westminster

I ordered a lamb Donna box, the quality of the kebab wasnt great, it didn't have much taste and it was had a grainy texture this would indicate lower meat content. The garlic sauce had a strange after taste that lingered in my mouth for a good hour. The person over the counter looked extremely grumpy even through we were giving him business. Would have had a McDonald's next door instead if it hadn't of closed that day.

The chicken and lamb was really very smelly. The king size burger was more like a mini burger; it was smaller than a normal burger. The service person was rude. Overall it doesn't even worth a single pound

They tried to scam me and a friend saying the card machine didn't work, then it suddenly did. Just seen previous reviews they overcharged customers. There is a cash machine INSIDE the shop which is extremely suspicious. Overpriced bland kebabs which were not worth it at all, and questionable food hygiene standards as felt sick afterwards. Probably should/may report to trading standards. STAY AWAY.

Worst customer service. Very unclean. Cashier it self make the sandwich without washing hands or wearing a glow. Charging unreasonably for food. What shownnin display isnt wht they make. Card machine is not working for a some purpose ?????? Dont recommend even for trying. Its worth to be in que in mcdonald's next door to have some reasonble clean food. I mean it.

reasonable value for the money had no issues paying with card as others have mentioned staff was helpful and cordial. elevated dõner experience it is not - but for a quick takeaway it gets the job done.

The place is a FRAUD. Once you use your card to take cash from the machine, you start getting money stolen from your card. Please avoid the place the owner is a fraudster

Last Friday evening I ordered a large chicken kebab wrapped and a large lamb kebab rapped takeaway. There was barely nothing inside. So bloody stingy. That weren’t two large kebabs. I felt like telling them off there and then, then I thought that I wouldn’t have to tell them off , if they don’t know how to treat customers, it’s their problems. Customers need respect first of all, as £19 for two kebabs is not exactly free; I sincerely didn’t deserve such a treatment but off you go, you won’t have my money again. Shame on you

They don’t know how to make a wrap and the worker's are so rude I will never go thee again….

Had to get a quick meal before heading on the train home. Discovered Crystal Kebab as the obvious choice for that quick meal as all the other quick service restaurants in the area and outside the station were full. Decided to go for the mixed meat (doner and chicken shish) on chips for £10.50. Paid in cash so didn’t experience any difficulties as did other visitors who have left reviews here. As I’ve been in Canada lately, I provided a small tip as a polite way of saying thanks upon paying. Not that I needed it, could tell the staff added extra meat to my order following my tip. The staff also had no issues with my request for extra hot sauce and they even went and offered me a drink (opted for the Fanta Twist) as well despite not needing it. Service was excellent. The kebab meats itself were great. I’ve had the fortune to enjoy doner kebab culture in Eastern Canada, Germany, France and other parts of the UK. This was a particularly excellent meal. The meats were well spiced and marinaded. The chips were fresh. The garlic sauce was thick, flavourful but not too strong. The hot sauce packed a real punch. The Fanta fruit twist sipped really well. Cold but not too cold.

I love a kebab. Never had a kebab wrap before and it’s a revelation. Absolutely loved it. I don’t think it was just the beer either. Will definitely go back.

Aweful customer service; a man working there was not able to answer basic questions about the menu (I asked if the burger patty is only meat or mixed with spices) and told me to go somewhere else. I surely have gone my marry way.

Food is very mediocre dry bland meat , doesn't even taste good when drunk which is what kebabs are for. Price not too bad for area hence 2 stars Didn't give veggies on donner and chips for some reason

Lamb shish wrap was perfect, chicken shish wrap was undercooked in the middle, I had to dispose of the chicken wrap, as I was worried I may get sick.

Food wasn’t that great and last time I went one of the staff was racist towards me. Additionally the time before that another staff membership made me uncomfortable but I went back because it was a late night option however I’m never going back there again.

Don't go to this kebab shop. He asks you to withdraw money except that the person before me has to pay by card. Also the food is not fresh. And the reception is deplorable

Only two tables, so no place to eat inside. We asked the guy if we can enter and eat inside as one table was free, he just said no without anything else...

So I want to support local businesses, so I chose Crystal Kebab instead of McD next door. The food is good, nothing special, but good enough if you're hungry and want quick food. BUT the problem is the cashier. I come from France so I don't have any cash (GBP), I tried with my American Express bank card, and unfortunately it didn't work. So I ask that I can use another card (Visa or Mastercard), and the reader didn't work. I advised him to restart the procedure, but the cashier was so rude and without patience, he insisted me to pay with cash. It's a shame in the 21st century, he doesn't know how to restart a task on reading the bank card. Briefs bring GBP, or face his unpleasant face.

Rubbish would never eat here again. Staff with bad attitudes. Don't waste your money the service or terrible

Travelled here all the way from West London for a late night munch and to be quite honest, I will NEVER go again. Fair enough, it was rather late so I kind of expected it not to be the best BUT it was FOUL. I ordered a chicken doner with chips and when I got home and opened my box, there was hardly any chips. The meat was crispy, dry and not edible after a few bites.. Ordered a mixed doner too and the meat was disgusting, same as the chicken doner.. And last but NOT least, I ordered a chicken shish but wanted it plain (no salad and no sauce) and when I got home, I opened the box and literally there was only 5 pieces of shish and NO pitta. How does that even happen?! I was charged £30 in total for all of this and the quality of the food was foul, the service wasn’t any better and the fact that I was charged full price for a chicken shish when I received no pitta.. Terrible! I will NOT recommended this place to ANYBODY. Don’t go!

The best kebab place in London. Their mixed doner kebabs, lamb shish and adana kofte are a must try. The garlic and chilli sauce are the best. Very friendly people.

The kebab is actually very good but they always pretend their card machine is not working. I have been there for more than 3 times and they pretended every time their card machine was not working and forced customers to pay cash. I have seen them telling a customer that the card machine was not working and forced her to pay cash. When the customer left, they suddenly accepted card. It is obvious that they target tourists or someone who does not look like local. Even the food is good, their attitudes are the worst. I am not going back to this place as I am sick of them playing tricks every time.

This is my second visit here. The prices has gone up by few pounds. There always a queue here. Also cash only no cards. Freshly done in front of you. Taste delicious with lemon and chill sauces.

the worst takeaway ever the staff members don’t listen to what you order also i went to the shop i asked if they take card they said yes then few minutes later the guy next to him said something and he went back to me and said the machine is not working i gave them cash but the money wasn’t enough for the drinks suddenly the machine is working and i paid for the drinks by card

The staff members were really polite and funny, I enjoyed talking to them. They serve flavourful kebab at a fair price and are quite generous with their portions, which I really appreciated.

Great kebab fair everything was fresh and flavorful. Portions were generous for the price. Definitely authentic food and you have to listen closely to the owner when he asks you questions because of his accent. I would definitely go back again.

Brilliant food and service I got from here, new to the area as I started working nearby and didn’t disappoint, kebab was juicy (unlike some kebab shops where you get dry food which I can’t stand) and very generous with their portions definitely will be a regular. Didn’t understand the negative reviews about this place when I read it before I visited because I was truly impressed so I recommend visiting and making the decision for yourselves.

OK. A big kebab fan here and I will rate accordingly and fairly. I had a burger and a chicken shish and the first immediate thing is the size of portions which is small. Burger was nice and plenty of salad and flavour. The shish was really nice plenty of fresh salad and cabbage and the meat was succulent and fresh. Overall great kebab but don't expect mind blowing. Would come again

Horrible excuse for food. Never eaten such a disgusting and boring kebab in my entire life. And that says something, cause I’m from Norway. We have ONE OK kebab in the entire country. This whole experience was an atrocity and horrible down to the core. Help the world become a better place: shut this dry, half rotten place down! Oh, and don’t DARE pay with card here! They hate you for it, cause of tax reasons..? Luckily they’ve got an ATM right at their till, so you can give them all their money in cash after all… just be prepared to be miserable for the rest of your day after eating here.

The service is awful. They not listening what customers ordering. Also they food hygenic is horrible. Touching everything with their hands without using tongs or gloves, its disgusting. All the time when i go there, they mess up something. I see lot of customers reactions, they are not happy as well. The only thing why i go there its because after midnight only this place is open. Anyway, its one of the worst restaurant in London.

Staff were rude. They did not listen to my order and ignored me while making the Kabab. The Kabab was very small and over priced but the customer service was the worst of all.

Food is dead, only reason I ate there is due to a 4 hour delay at Kings X. Dry, basic with only garlic sauce offered, as well as the cheek to charge £9.50 (Large) without even asking of I wanted that or a regular.

Absolute dump, make you use the cash point and then pull a card machine out for other customers, probably a scam. Then take my order and just argue with other customers, do yourself a favour and walk down the road to kebab shop, 2/3 of the price and a million times better customer service

Was there on Saturday, hygiene standards are poor, touching cash and non food items then food. While taking this I wondering if kebab meat and chips required then to touch anything. The fella cooking rubbed the sweat off of his face, flicked it on the floor then grabbed a wrap... Just walked out.

Lamb Döner was amazing, no problem to pay with card. Bit stressed staff but there was a big line so understandable.

No attention to my order, in fact they did the opposite, when I tried to call (after travelling to East London) No answer, I tried calling 3 times. I'm very upset with the food I received & I will NEVER recommend this place again. I work in a very busy venue in King's Cross that has a lot of late customers. So sad that shiity staff can ruin a reputation. I'm the photo is apparently a Large Lamb Shish Kebab, with lettuce, tomato, NO onion. Please zoom in, it's a complete joke.

Worst burger I’ve had! There was hair in the box, paid £4 for a chicken burger with just chicken, a tablespoon of mayonnaise and lettuce. There was nothing else!! No cheese like the description says and let’s not forget no gloves were used when touching the buns. If I wasn’t so tired I would’ve went back for a refund

The idea of actually COOKING the chicken before serving is alien to these guys.

1.The guy was checking me out and making uncomfortable remarks 2.the food had his beard hair in it 3. The food was actually cold he would rather rush making a customer happy to eat his mc flurry from next door 4. After taking card payment from me he tried to act like he didn’t take card and take cash from another guy which I found rude just because he wanted to eat his Mc flurry This has reminded me to tame my hunger and listen to my intuition 🤔 good luck guys

Called in here on the way back to our hotel. The staff were friendly & helpful & our chicken Shish was freshly made to order. We both agreed it was one of the nicest kebabs we’ve ever had!

One of the driest kebabs I’ve ever eaten. Meat was dry and tasteless and the bread was hard and dry. Went here to avoid the queue at McDonald’s and regret that choice massively.

Best Place I’ve Been So Far. He Showed me Card machine wasn’t working also asked if I wanted the decline receipt. There are know problems with cash machine as I have used it with my other card but on my right for shop safety there are camera example behind for tills for works safety for public an workers etc. the chicken doner is tasty I asked well done so he grilled it a little with my chillier sauce as I requested very respect full so not no about night stuff as I went there for my lunch.

Yesterday I visited this kebab shop(April 23,2023) Guy, who was serving food,he was so rude. I am visiting London from Canada and I am using credit cards everywhere in London. He asked me Cash(he doesn't want to pay tax). I said I was using a card, and then he forced me to use a small ATM machine in his small shop. I was so surprised. I had never seen like a small shop keeping ATM in such a small shop and forcing customers to withdraw money. This scam. I am not recomend this place. Please don't use this kind of ATMs.

Avoid this place at all costs. The owner and co worker are very rude and con artists. They target tourists especially by saying they don’t accept card, when they do in fact have a card machine. I have witnessed multiple times they will over charge customers and then when customers realise they say oh sorry mistake. Please double check if you have been charged multiple times if using card machine and do not use the cash machine inside the shop as it is fraudulent and clones your card details and has a hidden camera to record your pin. Fraudulent, dishonest scammers. Food is very average.

I’m sorry but so many of these reviews are miles out. I live two hours away by train and have discounted every local kebab option as they simply are not good enough. I honestly believe Crystal are in my top 3 kebab shops globally and I have tried a few. Quality is exceptional as is quantity unless you are the type to sacrifice good food for massive volumes of poor food. No grumps, no ripoffs, treat people as you wish to be treated yourself and I’m sure you would find this kebab shop amazing, as I do, my little treat if the train is delayed. By the way I would love to see the customer service attitude of the moaners working all day, everyday at King’s Cross, it can’t be easy

Like most reviewers said....these bozos are rude, uncivilized, unsanitary and scammy extortionists. Take your business elsewhere.

Visited here on my way out of Kings Cross. Will not return. I asked if they took card to which I was told cash only, so I asked where is the nearest cash machine and the guy said inside. So I hesitantly used this standalone cash machine located at the end of the till. I placed my order and waited. Some other diners finished their meal and stood up to pay when the guy behind the till whips out a card machine. When my turn comes to pay I said card and he again says cash only. So I can only assume this is some kind of scam to get people to use their cash machine. But then to top it off, it was one of the worst mixed kebabs I've ever eaten. Even the chips were terrible. It must simply be its location that is keeping it going because anyone with a sense of taste would not choose to pay for that food a second time.
