Crookes Chippy in Sheffield

I’m very thankful to live within walking distance of this chippy. Great veggie options.

Friendly and welcoming with a great menu and plenty of veggie/vegan options. The curry sauce is heavenly and the batter is perfect, not too greasy. Always freshly cooked and tasty food. Fantastic value for money, especially the lunch deal. Even though we've now moved to the other side of the city, we still go back and introduce all our friends to it. Would 100% recommend!

Tried for the first time, and I must say I wasn't disappointed. I went up to Crookes for an interview popped in after. The chap beh8nd the counter was very pleasant we conversed while waiting and it was worth the wait the food was amazing best fish and chips with mushy peas I've had in a long time they where that good after I finished I told him so . He also had a vegetarian menu which you don't often see.if you're up, Crookes, give them a try. You won't be disappointed. I promise you . Definitely a 10/10

Sorry but the chips were dry with barely any potato, fish was small and not very fresh..1st time since Broomheads had it…this was on a Friday night when you’d expect a lot better and just under £10 for fish chips and peas

Love the place. Food fried freshly, cheerful service and very reasonably priced. Also, great veggie and vegan selection- worth getting out of the main crookes area for this!

Fish was really dry felt like it had been sat on a hot plate for 2 hours …. didn’t taste fresh and it all had a funny bitter after taste. Orders large but the fish was thin and not large at all. The bread cakes were dry as a bone… had to throw most of it away .

Came here the other day and had what I can only say is the best chips ever, they was lovely and golden brown like chippy chips use to be like. And also tried a black pudding fritter which was out of this world... oh and the prices are fantastic

I ordered haddock and chips and they were absolutely delicious. I always think if I’m ordering fish and chips and I’m not on the coast - surely they won’t be as good! But they were! They also have vegan options which I’ve been told were delicious. The friar was also really pleasant. Defo would go again :)

Me and my friend came here for dinner and it was sooo good, really lovely staff, nice atmosphere and amazing vegan food!! We got banana blossom, frickles, chips, pea fritters, vegan scallop, vegan nuggets and they were all really good. My favourite must have been the scallops and my mate loved the pea fritters. Defo coming back again, thanks again guys, love x

Best chippy about sound chap who runs it and the food is stunning bonus point for being vegan friendly

This chippy in my view is one of the best in Sheffield, try the curry sauce and you will not find one as good, best chips and curry I have honestly ever had. Great guy who works there and a lovely little local chip shop, could not recommend it enough.

Batter on any of the products was just awful can't even call it batter, inside the fish was good but outside the fish and the battered sausage was awful, the chips have seen better days looks like they haven't changed the oil in weeks....

First visit today. Really friendly and really good food. I'll go again.

Traditional cool restaurant. We are pleased with the visit. It was really nice and enjoyable.

The cod and chips were the best I’ve had in a while. The fish was flaky but not dry and was expertly cooked to order. It was quite late, so I didn’t think I’d be too hungry, but I ate them all, not even stopping to take a photo. I was visiting the area, so just took a chance, but very glad I did. I shall visit again. The owner was welcoming and friendly. Another customer and I both complimented him on the food after we’d eaten. Highly recommended.

The chips were lukewarm but were delivered quickly, so I can’t understand the reason for the temperature. The vegan nuggets and pea fritters were ok but not to my taste (nuggets were vegetable based, rather than vegan meat, and the fritters were extremely minty). Your mileage may vary with these depending on your taste. They do have a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options, which is a plus.

A good set of choices for vegetarians and vegans. Chips not as good as Two Steps, but you can't have everything!

Great chippy. Chips are spot on every time. Have only had the jumbo saussage and not the fish, but still can testify that its tastey and salty. Good prices and a variety of options for veggies and vegans.

Staff are so friendly, best curry I've ever tasted. All round great chippy open much better hours than last owners.

My first time ordering from this place and it won't be the last. The service was quick and the staff were very friendly. I ordered a pea fritter regular chips and a vegan sausage and it came to £5 which is an absolute bargain! Very tasty food. Can't wait to order again.

Chips were good but the cod wasn't cod fish but a very thin peice of basa, the batter wasn't great on the fish. Very disappointed.

Oh I’m sorry to say that the fish and chips was not nice.. the curry sauce was very dark and very hot ..

Honestly one of the best fish and chips places in the area. Try the curry sauce it's incredible!

I chose this place for the Banana blossom 'fish' and chips - very good, and well fried

Hated the banana blossom! I cant believe its £6 for a the tiniest little thing. 5 bites and its finished. This is daylight robery. The chips were decent they couldve provided more! The curry was okay but very watery. Overall very pricey not good quality food. I definitely will not be returning. I feel shafted
