We had a private dining experience for my mum's 60th. The three course menu provided for us was excellent quality, very tasty and plentiful. The service was a little lacking at times where getting a drink was concerned but over all we had a lovely evening and will return.

Went for the Valentines taster menu and we're amazed at the quality for the price. Each course was a sensation on the palate, and each element perfectly complimented each other. This was Michelin class food at a very reasonable cost, and I would definitely recommend to everyone.

Two of us had Sunday lunch on 26th Nov. Excellent Service. The food was fantastic we chose the two courses of Main (Roast Beef) and Pudding and it was wonderful. Would definitely recommend. We are now booked in for Christmas day!

We visited the Sage Restaurant yesterday evening and what an unforgettable experience we had. From the moment we stepped foot into the building to the moment we stepped out, the service was exceptional and the food we ordered was absolutely beautiful with a few little extra surprises! We will definitely be booking again and will recommend without hesitation. An excellent evening thank you Robert and thank you chef Craig Riley.

What an awesome experience from the moment we walked in. We were met by Robert whos hosting skills are second to none. Prior to going through to the restaurant we were treated to a delight of beautifully presented appetisers. Once in the dining room the experience was fabulous from start to finish, every course beautifully explained with taste to match. A total fine dining experience..well done to the chef and Robert...an excellent duo! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My recent dining experience at Donington Manor Hotel was a delightful journey of flavours and ambiance. After the complimentary snacks and amuse bouche I started my culinary adventure, with the crab starter. The presentation was a work of art, a testament to the chef's attention to detail. The dish featured a delicate crab accompanied by a zesty tomato essence dressing, which provided a refreshing burst of flavour. The freshness of the crab was undeniable, and the combination of textures, including crispy greens and kohlrabi, made for a well-balanced and satisfying starter. It left me eagerly anticipating what was to come. For my main course, I chose the lamb dish. I was pleased to find that the rump was cooked to perfection, tender and succulent with a beautiful pink centre, whilst the slow cooked lamb shoulder bonbon just melted in your mouth. It was accompanied by a delectable earthy yet creamy courgette puree whilst the pepper puree completed the flavour profile of the dish. The portion size was generous without being overwhelming, and the presentation was once again impeccable. The service throughout the meal was impeccable. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering wine pairings and answering any questions I had. The pace of the meal was just right, allowing me to savour each course without feeling rushed. Donington Manor Hotel's restaurant exceeded my expectations with its combination of exceptional cuisine and a charming ambiance. I highly recommend giving it a try. I left the restaurant with a satisfied palate and a desire to return to explore more of their offerings.

Lunch. Castle Donington. You are first served some delightful complimentary snacks.Six different ones,yes six. These are served to every guest before dining. Next is freshly home-baked bread and butter and a very tasty amuse bouche. For starters, we chose - Smoked Chicken Ravioli, Braised Endive, Crispy Chicken Skin. Crab Hand Picked, Brown Crab Emulsion, Heritage Tomatoes, Tomato Consommé. For Mains - Seabream roasted fillet, Charred Fennel, Confit Potatoes, Peas. 8oz 30 Day Hung Sirloin, Triple Cooked Chips, Confit Tomato, Mushroom. Desserts Dark chocolate delice, salted caramel, coffee Strawberries and Cream, Basil Strawberry Parfait, Vanilla Panna Cotta, Meringue, Basil Gel. The food was above expectations, and the portions were very generous,we were totally stuffed. Craig and his team did a great job, and James's service was excellent. The location is ideal if you've just landed from the airport and want some nice food with great hospitality. Or maybe stay here before jetting off. They also do a set Sunday lunch and afternoon teas, which we're going to have to come back and try.

I’ve eaten at many great places, including a 2 Michelin star Gordon Ramsay in Bordeaux and can honestly say I enjoyed this as much as that. The venue needs some investment to bring the decor up to the standard of Mr Rileys cooking but, the food is of the highest quality, great value and the service is fantastic!

Wow, what an amazing chef Craig is! The food is the absolute best. I had beetroot with goat cheese ice cream - I've never had goat cheese ice cream and wow, what a taste! Every dish we had was so delicious and definitely 5 stars! We can't wait to go back again. Highly recommend x

Had a fantastic dinner at the donington manor hotel. We were greeted with breads and some amouse bousche. I had 2 courses and i cannot recomend him enough. The cod was absolutely stunning. It had all the right flavours . The jam really pulled the flavours toether. For dessert i had the lemon posset which had the rasberry snow. It was so flavoursome i cant even put it into words. Thr chef, (craig) came out to explain the menu to us and how he cooks it and how all the flavours come together. It make the whole meal feel much more personal and not like your just another customer. The chef is lovely!! Cannot recomend the restaurant enough!

Had a meal at Donington manor hotel. Needless to say the food was absolutely Devine. I can tell you first hand they way he cooks his food is so unique its out of this world. I had the beef as a main and I put my fork into the steak to cut into it and it just fell apart had made the gravy to match with the tastes. The veg was cooked to absolute perfection and the beef, i was just speechless. I can’t even describe the flavours rushing through my mouth. For desert I had the sticky toffee pudding and it had all the right flavours that hit all the right sports. So sweet and savoury. I cannot recommend Craig and the donning crew enough. Next time you go out for a meal. Make sure it’s at the Donington manor hotel! You will not be let down!

Last Saturday we returned to a favourite hotel, Donington Manor, Castle Donington, for an overnight stay. We dined in the Sage Restaurant, a delightful, elegant room. Here Head Chef Craig Riley began our 5 star quality, culinary adventure. This began with canapés, an assortment of delicate, tasty tartlets before our two starters, one pressed terrine and one hot smoked salmon, both delicious. An amuse bouche of Craig’s take on fish, chips and peas was accompanied by homemade rolls and 2 homemade butters, again unexpected, but a delight in every bite. For our main we both decided on the poached and roasted chicken breast beautifully presented and every part of the dish tasting wonderful. The desserts looked very tempting and we imagine would prove as interesting and tasty as the rest of our food but, alas, we had no room for them, but we will make sure we do have on our next visit. Definitely a memorable evening in the Sage restaurant. Our compliments to Head Chef and his team.

I had Sunday lunch at The Donington Manor Hotel on 5th March. The food was excellent. My first course of gin cured Mackerel tasted amazing as was the presentation. I selected Cod with Fennel for the main course, again beautifully presented with excellent sauces. The vegetable accompaniment was varied, fresh and hot. I was very impressed and will certainly return.

We had dinner at Sage Restaurant. What an absolute treat. The food was exceptional and clearly cooked by a very talented chef - Craig Riley. To have food of michelin standard in the village is amazing. Every sauce, ice cream, veloute and item on the plate was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Plus with all the extra surprises it is way more than a three course meal. The service was great Janine and Debbie looked after us perfectly. Once the quality of this restaurant is known far and wide it will be booked up for months. Thank you to the whole team.

This was my first visit, what a great local find ...... good choices on the menu and excellent value for money nice polite staff and the food was absolutely lovely .. if your in the area give it a try ..they do take away too check the opening times as the day we visited they closed at 1400 hrs will definitely return to sample more off the menu .

Very sorry to write this but felt compelled after such a shocking experience. We waited 20 minutes to be served, over an hour for our food and when the food came 2 out of 4 orders were wrong. We got charged £50 for very mediocre food. A small jacket potatoe with no side salad was £7 with 1 filling, plus then an extra £2 for a very small amount of cheese as an extra filling ! a friend ordered a Turkey and cranberry roll which was essentially a basic white roll with some butter and 2 pieces of packet Turkey on it and a side of cranberry to spread on herself. I’ve been before to this cafe and had a lovely up of tea / cake. I recommended it to 3 friends today and was quite embarrassed by how bad it was. They said they were short staffed, but the food quality and pricing does not add up either.

Fantastic food . Fantastic service if you haven't tried the food you are missing out. The mushroom hall is the best pub in albert village with a brilliant landlord and landlady. Ben the chef sends the food out exactly how it looks on the menu. One word brilliant.

Have been having pizzas from here for a long time. Best pizza place by far! Quick service, fresh every time. Staff are amazing too. Definitely recommend.
