Great value for money and really good hot food

This is the best chippy by far, my daughter told me about it a while ago… anyway I went ohhh wow it didn’t disappoint the food is beautiful very nice very tasty 🤤 yummy 😋 fabulous it’s very fresh our new favourite food from now on ….. The owner’s are very nice people kind and always smiling the lady she is so nice knows my daughter and her partner by name there is nothing I can say that is negative 💯 % positive THIS CHIPPY IS A PERFECT LITTLE GEM 💎 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nicest Chinese takeaway in gorton food is always excellent always hot and the lady who runs the place may always goes above and beyond for everyone

I had special curry on my mind all day. I visited this wonderful little cottage chippy. I am so glad that I did. I am from out of town so not familiar with this gem of a place. I absolutely enjoyed my meal and will definitely return on my next visit.

Fish and chips £5.80 for a nice size portion between medium and large excellent value. Freshly cooked to order in front of you.

The best Chinese I have ever had in my life

Tried this place today, we ordered fish & chips and some salt & pepper chicken wings. The fish was neither cod or haddock was told its “white fish” had no taste, the batter was thick and soggy really poor quality. The chips were not fresh instead hard like cardboard. As for the salt & pepper wings they were “interesting” saturated in oil had no crisp on them just soggy batter, the portion of wings was all flats no drums and really low quality chicken. Only reason we tried was because of the reviews but don’t make that mistake. All in all cheap poor quality food, straight in the bin. Fair to say won’t be stopping here again.

Super friendly service and pretty good food too. My son said it was the best prawn toast he'd ever tasted and my daughter actually managed to finish a plate of food! I recommend the banquet for 4 (which 8 could easily eat).

Decided to give this place a try due to the stellar reviews. Unfortunately, not for me. Fish batter was soggy in the middle, tasted a little odd and was overcharged. Curry sauce was nice, but the chips were your standard chippy chips fayre.

Based on local reviews we opted for a Chinese takeaway from Cottage Chippy and we were not disappointed. We had a nice chat with the staff and enjoyed the food so much we visited again before we moved on.

First visit will defo be back xx

My go to chippy! Occasionally I've eaten from other local chippies, but they always don't match up to the taste and quality of The Cottage. Put simply you've got restaurante level cooking in a chippy! 😅 I especially like their Salt and Pepper King Prawns... They are just insane!

Excellent food, tried King Prawn Cashew Nut Rice and Singapore style vermicelli, both were really good. Highly recommended for South Asian people especially.

Simply tasty. We ordered cashew king prawn with steamed rice (only £6.50 😮). It was mild yet full-flavored with lots of veg and prawns in it. The stuffs are friendly and the service was great as well. Highly recommended 👍

I asked for the Sirloin Steak and got the most shocking piece of sorry looking grey piece of frying steak. Not at all a sirloin. Sorry but this was a bad case of misadventure of "steak" every. And to serve this to a chef is unbelievable

My mum recommended this place and wow. The Chinese food is just stunning and the fish and chips are among the best I've ever had. The curry sauce is as good as the best I ever had which was the old Lambs Chippy in Adswood back in the late 90s/ early 00s before it got taken over and became the Clover. Anyone who enjoys food needs to come to the Cottage Chippy and fill ya boots

We’re always ordering our takeaways from here we have done for years the Chinese food is our favouarte it’s so yummy no fat and smells delicious and it’s fresh everytime, even the English menu pie chips fish peas cooked lovely we don’t go anywhere else!
