Costa Coffee Harwich in Tendring

Food really bland and boring staff lovely.

The biggest draw back here was the lack of toilets the place was very busy and there was only one toilet

cold babycino, then too hot, but then the babycino turned into a hot chocolate...?! no pastries girl at kiosk didn't know how to respond to me and just looked at my blankly Had to shout for attention to get sugar etc. Won't go there again for morning coffees

Ordered clock and collect, it was on-time, order was correct and the drinks were lovely. The gent with glasses, short black hair and loads of tattoos who made the drinks was polite and the milk was lovely and velvety. 5/5

Great place for a coffee and a snack clean and tidy friendly staff..

Costa was always my 'go to' fir lunch when I lived in the UK. Great coffee, the best cheese toasties, and friendly staff. Now we live in Spain (no Costa's boooo), but on a trip back to the UK to visit relatives, it was great to pop into the Harwich/Dovercourt Costa and find that nothing has changed. Still as good as ever and a great place to stop off.

This Costa is always consistent, delivering great coffee, food and a warm welcome. You always feel your custom is valued and that the team know what customer service is all about. Yes it’s a chain but this branch shines.

Went for coffee and breakfast at drive thru, unfortunately they had hardly any breakfast food left at 10am?! Staff were friendly but didn't really offer much in way of alternative or apology.

Coffee was OK but noisy, I'm sure the barista is deaf. Not pleasant if you use hearing aids.

Ok it's just another Costa, but always reliable and consistent. Great friendly service at this Costa. Quite as well so quite relaxing for a change.

Nice atmosphere to sit in when I can. Staff are nice and helpful but often seem fed up. Good selection of milk alternatives.

Had coffee with a brie and bacon sandwich. Both were delivered to our table by a member of staff. The usual Costa experience with both the food and the drink arriving at the table nice and hot.

Myself and my mum and dad always come here and the service is amazing and the staff have such a fan do attitude! Always friendly and helpful it's the best Costa as sonw been to are very poor! Thankyou for your smiles and service! It's such a pleasure to come here! Love Craig x

Staff are absolutely brilliant, very friendly and helpful.

Standard Costa drive through. Not much to say about. coffee was good, so was the hot chocolate.

It's OK, pricey like all coffee chains now, but the queues could be managed better as the service can take a lot longer than necessary. A few orders have been given incorrectly here.

I have gone to this costa ever since it opened. Today was (hopefully) the last time. There is always something wrong with our order. Today I ordered my usual decaf caramel latte with oat milk and my mum ordered her usual cappuccino. My latte wasn't decaf and it didn't have caramel in there either which is not the first time this has happened. They also didn't have oat milk today, a Saturday, which is a shame as it would have added some kind of flavour. The latte was also half foam which is incorrect for a latte (shown in the picture). My mum's cappuccino tasted like water and didn't taste like there was any coffee in there whatsoever, she threw it away. After adding 3 teaspoons of sugar to mine, it was drinkable. Why do we keep going there then? Because it's the best of a bad situation. It's convenient, isn't it? There aren't any other drive-through coffee shops in our small town. That is why I wish starbucks or cafe nero or some other coffee shop would seize the opportunity to build here. The nearest starbucks is colchester Town centre, 30-40minutes away once you've parked and walked etc. Also, if there was a starbucks I could get SO many other drinks, ones that I prefer. Costa is extremely slow on the uptake of vegan/dairy free options. I love hot chocolate, but the costa syrup or powder has milk in it. Being lactose intolerant, it's best for the people around me if I don't consume dairy. Starbucks also has so many creamy ice drinks that are dairy free if you just take off the whipped cream. Their allergen menu allows me to see exactly what is in the drink. Costa's allergen menu just simply says contains milk so I can't decifer if taking out the whipped cream will allow me to have the drinks. The staff and their customer service is fine, but they don't know how to make the drinks from their own menu. Honestly, save your money and just make your coffee at home. If you want the ambience of sitting in a nicely decorated coffee shop then be my guest, just lower your expectations on taste if you're a frequent coffee shop goer. Maybe we'll visit the mcdonalds across from the costa instead. They have a hilarious sign that reads "we don't think coffee should cost an arm and a leg" and it's in full view of costa.

January 2022. Costa Drive Through is now by McDonald's on the next roundabout, not at the location shown on the map. We wasted a long time looking for it but everything was great once we found it! Staff tell me they moved 2 years ago 😁

Prepare yourself for a big old review…I love Costa at the best of times but I bypass all of the more local stores to come to Harwich. I won’t mention names but firstly there is a lady there who came from the clacton branch and she is FANTASTIC. I once ordered different to my usual and she double checked I’d ordered correctly because she remembered my usual and was concerned she’d misheard me! I have NEVER been spoken to rudely or impolitely by any staff here and they’re all willing to go over and above to make something as simple as popping out for a drink the best experience possible (for example, today I ordered a bottle of coke and asked if I could be cheeky and have a cup and straw for it OF COURSE I COULD, she then offered me ice and a lemon slice on it too!? Ridiculously helpful) Tonight, they were closing up and on occasion I see staff take home cake etc that can’t be sold the next day… so my friend and I were brought out a slice of carrot cake each, simply because one staff member remembered we liked it! I then took the plates in to thank them and she thanked me profusely for being helpful! There are so many more examples of the incredible customer service I’ve received at this branch but my advice is, if you’re in the area, just go and see for yourself. 10/10.

Harwich Costa, been going her since it opened. The staff are lovely and friendly, they know what I order. I wouldnt go to any other Costa. Quick service too. I have never dined in at this Costa, as I prefer the drive-through. But overall service is Brilliant. Dont bother having the breakfast rolls though, they are disgusting (not staff's fault!! Costa head office needs a serious menu revamp! They expect staff to microwave bacon for god sake!!)

My first visit here for a flat white coffee and a chocolate patty. The flat white was very weak and the chocolate was not a pastry; it was something bread-ish thing. Disappointing!

Sign said they were open, there were staff in there at 1:00 and the door was locked. Poor customer service and queues, queues and more queues would be quicker going to Clacton

I visit regularly and usually enjoy the coffee and the friendly staff. However the girl with, currently pink hair, spoils what should be a pleasant experience. She is rude and abrupt. What a pity!!

Second coffee from here and second time it was like drinking hot milk. Not going to be a third. Costa used to be very good coffee but I won't visit another again.

Costa is de 1e plek waar we naartoe gaan als we van de boot afkomen. Stena Line doet z’n best maar er gaat toch niets boven een mok Costa coffee. Espresso of Cappuccino zijn heerlijk.

Sharon, Brad, Chloe, aggi, Ricardo and all the team are so welcoming in either Costa. My fav is the new drive thru, actually feel at home when me and my girls go in which is pretty much most days 👍 can't wait to see them all again soon. Miss you guys 👏

Costa coffee is always expensive but good coffee and food if you dont mind spending a fortune

Nice coffee, but nothing special.

Staff pleasant. I'm afraid the coffee making area is not very clean! side where coffee is made is very dirty there was a cloth which the staff member used to wipe side then milk off coffee cup bin behind till area full and floor in this area had rubbish on it. I think it's just about their remembering to clean as they go.

The best costa around! Friendly staff, always clean and tidy. We visit this store a few times a week and the staff know our order already! Been to others around and none seem to have the welcoming and friendly atmosphere that this one has!

My husband and I often go here for a coffee. The staff are friendly, and efficient. We always sit inside, and the tables are clean and tidy. Menu limited uniform across the country, but coffee guaranteed excellent every time, generous too.

We visit this Costa on a somewhat regular basis and are always served with a smile. The costa menu itself is the same as others and the quality is among the best. The venue is good, clean and relaxed so well worth sitting in if your having a break from shopping.

It’s great for Coffee and a cake or sandwich, but not for a full meal. Apart from that it’s a Costa, so has the exact same menu as every other Costa in the country.

I’d say by far, this is the best Costa Coffee in the area, for friendliness, recognition & quality of the drinks. I consider myself ultra fussy! And Sharon & Brad make the best Cappuccino! They know my drink choice, and it’s always spot on, never over hot, just perfect and sets me up for my day ahead. I can’t speak highly enough about this store. 👍

Very disappointing with the service. Dirty tables and unhelpful staff. Christmas festive drink was extremely sweet, not recommended.

Had to repeat myself multiple times because the person serving me wasnt listening to what I was saying and too busy chatting. However service was fast and drinks are nice.

Over priced cakes and shame staff never clean tables.

This place what can I say? Don't think you can sit in comfort later in the day, it's like the end of class when you are at school (chairs on tables people!) Staff frantically cleaning because they are only paid until the shop is shut so have to get it all done round you...the paying customer! You do have to state you want the milk heated if you have milky drinks (like my weirdo hubby) if he just drank his coffee black like a sane person (ie me) that coffee would be hot!

Always good for a quick coffee stop in between in between the shopping. Very friendly service, and ... free wifi!

Lovely place to go for coffee, staff are always friendly, we take a disabled person and staff always say hello and never complain when our lady can be a bit loud due to her disabilities, coffee is always good, good parking and also some outside seating if you want to enjoy the sunshine 🌞

Called for cake and coffee Saturday afternoon whilst shopping in Harwich. Was around 2pm so want overly busy. I know it's Costa and it's a chain , I know it's a tad expensive so I expect that. What I don't expect is to see staff members behind the service are eating Grapes, running their fingers constantly through their hair and chewing their finger nails. Not a good advert and indicates severe lack of training and awareness of Health and Hygiene regulations. Having bought and eaten cake before seeing this i hope neither of us are ill. Won't be back

I'm not a big fan of the chain coffee. The drawback is the ubiquity - that sense that one could be almost anywhere in the world, same menu, same décor. Quality is generally assured I suppose, which is a plus. I wasn't expecting much from a Costa located on a retail park. Retails parks being all well and good in their native United States where the sun shines a tad more than locally. However. Generic menu - tick. Quality coffee - tick. Special mention for that generic décor which raised this Costa above its maudlin surroundings plus extra special mention for staff and service which (Compared especially with Lahnden) was of a higher than average standard. Their manner was excellent and the cleanliness and tidiness a cut above.

Convenient. Good quality food. But expensive.
