Costa Coffee Drive-through in Cannock Chase

A good place to relax and watch the world go by over a coffee and a bap.

Edited: 26th Oct 2024: Went back to try indoors and have to say I was very pleased this time so I have awarded two more stars. The barista did a great job on a Flat White and our Cappuccino was well expect with a perfect circle of foam in the centre with good milk texture. I was so pleased and felt that coffee had been carefully assembled rather than thrown in a cup for me. Staff were friendly, good atmosphere inside and the Toasted tea cake was yummy too. Please keep this quality up. _---- Old Review ----- Costa is getting more dissatisfying with each visit. I have noticed this at Costa Hednesford and Cannock so far and now avoid Costa where possible. I would get a better coffee from Gregs nowadays. Why? Because in short the baristas are either poorly trained, under paid / overworked, or lack any kind of pride in their work. The milk texture is so far away from what it should be in an average Latte and it is literally thrown in cup. I don't expect miracles from a takeaway but when going to a huge brand that charges a premium I do expect quality. Every visit lately I am being dissappointed in the quality and feeling a bit ripped off. I don't the the staff are at fault in this, I think it's how the business is being operated that's creating this lack of enthusiasm for delivery a goid coffee experience.

Nice coffee, good service nice place to chill,good atmosphere

Lovely staff and atmosphere. I regularly go here as its a half way point to meet with a friend and we are guaranteed a good drink, and friendly staff and atmosphere with our catch ups. Great because I have a little one to, so the changing facilities and ease to get the buggy in is great.

Only the dogs enjoyed it! What an absolute ripoff! Where is the cheese... for the price you pay this is a joke will not be buying again. The dog's gave it 2/10. Total garbage !!

I was asked to leAve a branch of costa with my assistance dog a few weeks ago. I'll never set foot in there outlets again

Our local Costa Coffee outlet, excellently placed alongside the A5 / A460 for picking up a Latte to go, on route to Lichfield Archery Club or going Carp Fishing, serving delicious food too!

I had a slice of delicious carrot cake today and the bubble frape range is a lovely, cool treat on a hot day!

Very nice and cosy please. Polite and fast service, clean tables. One of the best Costas around.

Always hit and miss here. Sometimes its great sometimes it's terrible.

The staff at this place are mostly atrocious. I know you shouldn't expect much from people who serve drinks for a living but I expect at least basic due care. Asking for coffee that isn't dangerously hot seems quite reasonable to me. But to be denied such a request and then vindictively given the opposite borders on intent to cause bodily harm, a police matter. Only a gen z would be as atrocious a person to think it's fun and cool to burn people for giggles. Gen Z are catastrophically the primary hire here. If it's not 'quiet quitting' or taking the knee and blue rinces, it's burning people for thrills. Get rid.

This costa won’t accept legal tender. Yep, they don’t like the big bad cash. It’s card only for the foreseeable.

Always a busy coffee shop. Met friends for coffee and cake, delicious as always. Can't beat that lemon muffin!

The old joke is : go to the headmasters office and ask for a long stand.. Lets say its not the staff its the manager . Or no one actually thinks their salary comes from paying customers. I guest that whitbread actually don't care that we the people bad mouth them .. i have sympathy for the staff but not its dont give a dam service!

After the boxing day shoping at Mac Arthur Glenn, this is the best spot to relax and grab some hot drinks, the place is ok, not that busy like other shops around, only thing i can say is the hot chocolate is bit weak needs more push on service like more smile perhaps? I think they are closing after few minutes after we have our drinks. The time is 2:26pm they might be preparing to do pre closing???….

Food and drinks weren't hot. Had to take a wrap back it was cold. Not good.

Used to come here regularly but card only payment now so won't be back

Costa drive through - ordered 2 cappuccinos and they were absolutely unrecognisable as coffee. Tasted like dishwater. Disgusting and expensive

Drink was nice but I had a Bacon roll hardly any bacon in it and it was exspensive

I go to Costa all over the country and this one outshines the rest! The staff are always pleasant and chatty, the coffee is always perfect and the indoor area is always immaculate!

I only go through the drive through and get a coffee on my way to work all the staff I have spoken to have always been very friendly and polite

It's a costa... nicely furnished and good choice of food. Nice coffee. Toilets clean.

Nice little place that is open until 9pm most days and has a drive-thru. The only downside is the acoustics of the place are not great, so when it is busy, it gets very noisy.

Just love the place, location and great staff Feel the need to edit and drop the service to 1 star. Visited at 12:40 on Thursday 8th June 2023. Ordered at drive through a Salted Caramel Frappe with decaf coffee and REAL cream. I reiterated the Real cream and not the fake stuff. When it arrived I pointed out it was not real cream to which I was told it is. I again pointed out it was not real cream to which the lady replied it's Dairy light, it's all we have. I asked for a refund so she went around to the cafe side. Within a couple of minutes she was back, dairy whip had been removed and replaced by real cream. My issue is why the bare faced lie. When I asked why she lied she just turned away. Back to stopping at Brow hills on my way home from now.

A handy little drive through costa. We sat in today rather then taking on the long queue for the drive in. There was also quite a queue inside. When we got served the batista was kind and friendly. There are lots of tables but unfortunately there were very few clear as most tables had left over cups and plates which hadn't been cleared up which gave a unkempt feeling to the place. As normal ok coffee but won't be rushing to go back to this branch.

Easy to order and very friendly staff who brought out some biscuits for the dog!

Only one person in front of me but took ages to get served, only one person behind till and making the drinks. Will not use this Costa again, will wait and go to Hednesford Costa, smaller, busier but always swift to respond.

Que for ages (25-30min) in drive though only to get home and the drink given is the wrong one.

Latte is my favourite. Needs more staff as service can be slow and very impersonal but this is because they're rushed off their feet managing the eat-in, takeaways and the drive-in all at same time!

Food a tad burnt drink tasted funny

Quick pitstop before a long drive. Toasted Sandwiches were hard and the drinks were vile. The new kit kat mocha, tasted of neither coffee or chocolate, murky at best! Such a shame.

Great staff, nice environment. Would recommend dining in if you have the opportunity.

Tea was awful but that's just my preference. Friendly staff. Toilets had no toilet roll and was filthy.

Food etc was great. My only issue was the queue time. I came in behind 2 young girls & although I appreciate there are other duties, there were 2 members of staff behind the counter only one was serving. I waited a good 6-7 minutes before the non serving staff asked for my order.

Under 'normal circumstances', this Costa is really good. Today my dring was extremely poor: the Salted Caramel Frappe/ Frostino was an insult! No cream, no sprinkles on top, no swirls of salted caramel 'sauce'. It was basically milk and ice.

Twice in a row they got my order wrong, oh the phone number doesn't work either. I'm not even saying if the coffee was nice, the service is shocking go to starbucks instead

Disabled toilet seat loose, needs fixing as it fell and hit wife's knee with some force. Someone had left it up..

Great little drive through. A little tight on parking if you're wanting to go into the coffee shop.

Standard quality for a Costa, service from staff was great and the coffee was as good as Costa can be (not my go-to coffee personally).

Always get an efficient, speedy service from the drive through team and the coffee is consistently good

Stopped off for a break in my journey had a nice drink. Service was great.

Very polite and welcoming very friendly

The coffee was fine but I didn’t like the way that two different members of staff put their fingers in the takeaway cups to separate them, it’s just not hygienic. Their hands could have been touching anything and left me feeling a bit grossed out.

Thank you to the friendly helpful gentleman who made us hot sandwiches 10 mins before closing. Gorgeous hot chocolate too.

You can sit outside or inside at this drive through. Usual Costa coffee with cakes, sandwiches and of course coffee. M&S sandwiches are available but the price for these is more expensive than just getting it from M&S. Coffee can be inconsistent with the strength and can be stronger, something the coffee chains struggle with imo. Staff pleasant, plenty of parking and not too much of a queue.

Its a drive through. Can be a bit of a queue at times. Thouth always friendly with orders and service

Ordered 2 medium cappuccinos and one was def fuller than the other!

Staff were friendly enough but the the drinks took ages to make and when they were finished the mint choc chip frame had very little flavour to it.

There seems to have been a high staff turnover recently and it feels like the newest team havent quite gelled to be the efficient co hesive unit that they were. It's still nice, staff are lovely, and there's new kinds of cake! Don't even bother ordering ahead to collect because there's no point - I ordered the coffee on Brownhills High Street, drove to collect on my way to an appointment and it hadn't even been started when I arrived. People going through the drive through were getting a brilliant service. It's happened a few times now, it kinda negates the point.

Lovely clean modern coffee shop. Indoor and outdoor seating areas. An excellent selection of drinks and snacks. Friendly helpful staff. Quick service. Plenty of parking and wheelchair accessible. Accessible toilet.

Ordered a mint aero hot chocolate to find coffee beans in the bottom of the cup 😬🤔 Also ordered a caramel cappuccino that tasted more like a bag of sugar with no caramel 😬🤔

This morning i had my breakfast at this Costa, as usual no oat milk, and the same song “we still waiting for delivery”… oki not complaining for this, i get coconut milk, but when i sold me OLD chocolate twist, and they told me “we can warp up for it will be better” i was in shock, im Pregnant 7 month! I said no thanks, i want change it or refund, the manager came. She didn't tell me sorry or something, she give refund and shout on mr that this is not old is fresh…. Common i know how it taste fresh chocolate twist. Very rude service, will never comeback.

Nice drinks but this branch is ALWAYS closed early. States open till 9pm however both drive though and store closed from as early as 7:30. Very hit and miss as to wether its open. Often gone elsewhere disappointed.

An other fantastic Costa at time of my visit this place was very busy and I could see great efforts where taken by staff in this place serve costumers in the store and outside on drive thru, my ☕️ was made by young gentleman called Harry it was fantastic, wonderful place to enjoy, big thank to Sarah also.

Stale croissants, like dough. Said it was because it's kept in their new chill cabinet(!) They exchanged it, women it up but then it's a soggy mess. Croissants are meant to be light and crispy :)

Worse cappuccino I have ever had..tried again today what a sham ..no point for 2 drinks she never offered us then ..do any of the staff on a Sunday know what they are doing ? Oder was wrong had to take it back Stay clear of this costa sham start to finish

Excellence quick service inside, despite queues of cars outside. Some Costa branches focus on the drive through to the detriment of walk in/sit in customers, but these didn't.

Excellent best costa in the country

Food lovely, staff friendly, environment clean and modern. However if your looking for a fairly substantial meal this is not the place to go as meal portions on the small side for the cost.

Black forest hot chocolate didn't disapoint, neither did managerial service

Typical Costa with decent coffee and food. But a bit tired looking and unclean - probably covid hangover, or short staffed? Service was a bit slow, but nothing serious.

Love the coffee. The staff are good - polite, pleasant and efficient.
