Costa in Antrim

It's unfortunate that clearing tables after they leave seemed to be not a priority on the day I visited when customers were gathering for counter service before heading to cluttered tables & seating

The best Costa I have been in and I have tried a few, it's clean, lovely friendly staff that always gets your order right, even speaks to you when they see you in the street.

Food ok, but costly for what you get. The toilets are awful, never clean

There were flies flying around the uncovered traybakes when we were in and I also noticed some dead ones inside the display case.. fairly worrying.

I have been to this place couple of times in past but since last 2-3 times they have been treating me terribly. To give you context I am of Indian descent. During my second last visit I was in the queue with my son(5YO) to get a hot chocolate and a brownie. When my turn came the person(an old man) at the counter completely ignored me(I was the only Indian in the queue every one else was from white background) and started taking order from the person behind me in the queue. I did not make much fuss about it and politely reminded him to take my order which he did. Last time when I visited there, same old man was taking orders at the counter with another girl helping him to deliver orders. I was in the queue and when my turn came I was again completely ignored by the girl. She started taking orders from the person behind me in the queue. Note that this time also I was the only Indian in the queue and everyone else was white. Then the old man came to the counter and he also completely ignored me and started entertaining the person behind me in the queue. I was really flustered at this point. I politely asked both at the counter if they are going to take my order or not. Then instead of apologizing or taking my order old man pretended that he thought I and the person behind me are together(which we were not, and even if we were I was front in the queue so the old man and the girl should have asked me first). After this I ordered a hot chocolate and a brownie. The old man instead seemed a bit annoyed that i asked them to take my order. He took my order and tried serving a cookie instead of a brownie, which I corrected him about. He complained that I did not order a brownie. At this point I was getting really frustrated. I asked him for a brownie and he took the cookie back and gave me a brownie. So over all not a good experience. I normally dont make a fuss about this type of behavior. But this thing got repeated twice which I dont think was a coincidence. I am sure the old man did not like the color of my skin among all the other people. Costa UK, I know you can not control your staff behavior but me and my son deserve the same respect as anyone else no matter what is the color of the skin. I hope you will take a note.

I was disappointed with one member of staff Alex as he was very abrupt and actually made me feel embarrassed I think the girl who was working alongside him noticed and she offered to bring the food to the table didn’t catch her name but her arm was tattooed and she was very pleasant x

Friendly staff, loved their carrot cake

The toilets are protected by a digital lock ...we were not given the key and I would need to wait in the queue to get it. I used the WC near the visitor centre ... they were clean

I've been in Costa Antrim several times and I would have to say staff are excellent, in fact a few of them are outstanding! They go out of their way to be helpful, very courteous. And so organised. And when someone needs help, they just do it! Its a lovely atmosphere and brilliant teamwork. Well done Team Costa Antrim

Ordered 3 coffees and a glass of hot water - asked if the water was for a coffee- I said no it was for someone who didnt like coffee. Told they could not give me hot water but could sell me a pot of tea and not put the tea bag into it - penny pinching - will be at Cafe Nero or Starbucks from now on.

Literally one piece of chicken in my sandwich!! Tables were dirty, but the place was busy so ordinarily I wouldn't have minded but since I was left hANGRY from paying for basically an empty wrap, I am less willing to ignore. I will not be returning. I do NOT recommend.

FINE, I GUESS? Had to wait a while to be served and had to wait a bit for coffee, but nevertheless a pleasant and convenient place to have a coffee break. I found that the coffee here is inconsistent, one time it's perfect, the next time it's tepid and flavourless. Definitely lacking standards. Overall not bad though.

As usual the tea and hot chocolate were lovely on a cold winters day. The lemon muffins went down well. Staff were pleasant. Toilets!!!! Well that was a different story. They looked like they had not been cleaned for some time. It doesn't take much to clean with a bit of bleach spray so they are not only clean but smell nice.

Spacious Costa Coffee premises, handy to call into for a rejunivating beverage. Coffee options tailored to customers tastes, light snack selection available. Comfortable loungy seating, one shared unisex toilet for able bodied and disabled patrons. Nice relaxed atmosphere.

I have to say my husband and I go in here at least twice a week if not more Today was the worst I’ve experienced, the two girls on the coffee machine where the most unpleasant to customers I’ve seen.

For context we only go to Junction 1 about 3-4 times a year as we live a 50 mile drive away, so it is more of a day out. We got parked & headed straight to Costa. My wife got the order. She brought the tray of drinks and food, I started to pour my tea and noticed the cup was dirty on the inside. I went up and asked a young lady for a clean cup, she went to where the cups were placed and her and another member of staff checked 3 cups before getting me a cup that was clean. So they were about to hand out more dirty cups to other customers. As I sat down my wife asked me what was up, I told her to which she said, when she was being served at the counter she was given a cup with a skin inside, basically a ring around the inside of the cup close to the top but this was noticed by a staff member and already replaced once while she waited on the order. Just before we were about to leave I had to go to the bathroom. I walked into the men's and first thing you see is a puddle of water at the door. It kind of goes downhill after that, I lifted the toilet seat and it almost fell off the toilet, the part that you press to flush is completely missing, there should be a silver/alloy panel about 5-6 inches square there is just 2 plastic buttons. I went to get some toilet roll as I was not about to touch these buttons, guess what the cover over the toilet roll holder was missing, so the roll can fall onto the floor at anytime. Wait, for the icing on the cake. As we all know men's toilets 9.9 times out of 10 are not as clean as the ladies, nope Costa Junction 1. My wife then went to the toilets and had a couple of minutes to wait for the ladies' cubicle to be free, this facility is also supposed to be for baby changing. A young male staff member walked out of this toilet when the men's was vacant. Again she said there was used tissue and water on the floor. The tap over the sink was loose and turned when she tried to get it running. There was no toilet roll apart from a nearly-used roll lying on the dirty and wet floor. No soap available, only an empty soap bottle with the pump unscrewed and left in the actual sink. Let me say again, she said a staff member came out of here and left it that way for customers. When my wife came out of the toilet she said another lady was waiting. She warned her that the toilet was disgusting and she may be safer using the men's (little did she know.....). The lady said all she needed to do was wash her hands and my wife had to tell her there was no soap to even do that and said the lady did end up going into the men's toilet to do this. Disappointed and disgusted, based on the state of both the toilets we'd be put off eating there again as staff mustn't care about general cleanliness. Management really need to look into the hygeine training and standards here.

Service let this down. The man serving at the till was lovely however ‘Fran’ that was barista and making coffee was rude and just did not look like she wanted to be there. She spoke over the man working at the till as he was trying to get our order off us and walked around rolling her eyes. She needs to improve her customer service skills.

Visited this evening and was very impressed by the energy, personable, professional service, in particular a staff member called Zara.

Use this place a lot. No different from the rest. I just like the coffee.

The coffee was ok but the floor and toilet could do with a clean not really what you would expect.

Didn't eat here or sit in, but the hot chocolate was nice, so hot I couldn't really drink it for about 20 mins while driving somewhere else.

Tables need cleaned more often as quite busy, food definitely over priced and charging extra for shrivelled up marshmallows that have seen better days!!

While in the queue, I noticed a sausage bap had been abandoned beside the biscuits. I explained to the batista, who put it on the counter behind her. I had told her that I didn't know how long it had been out of the fridge. While I was drinking my cappuccino, the same employee came out from behind the counter and put the sausage bap back on sale. No cold chain observed there! The coffee was lovely as usual, but I'll avoid the refrigerated goods from now on.

Bedlam, long queues and not much choice. Wanted to buy a gift card but out of stock again.

Reasonable selection of toasties and wraps, scones and treats. Not cheap. Nice clean and tidy seating area. Toilet available.

I was in costa today29/8/20 with my mum who is 83. Both doors were wide open and a wind blowing through it. We changed seats and no different. My mum closed the door closest to her to which a young lad came straight over and opened it again. He gave the reason of Covid and customers not having to touch the door. Yet he wasn’t wearing a mask and other shops in the centre had their door closed. I fully appreciate some measures but this was ridiculous and spoilt our visit . I know everything gets blamed on Covid but very dissatisfied with this.

Poor customer service . The manager seems the only employee who like their job . A real lack of friendliness throughout the place and it definitely needs a good clean and make over.

I called in with a friend we had a latte each it was the worst latte I ever tasted I used to love Costa. The staff do not seem to be very professional in making it.

I have never had any problems! Costa in Junction one have lovely staff and a very relaxing atmosphere. Lovely food and coffee and comfortable seating. Would definitely recommend for everything from lunch breaks to a catch up with friends. 👏🏻

Plastic cutlery, plastic cups! Wouldn't provide a pot of hot water for health and safety reasons! Although we bought two hot drinks? Bill came to over £15 but unable to eat toasties as plastic cutlery broke! Fortunately lots of other options close by... walk on by folks

Called in for lunch 3 people. Service just ok cashier forgot to give us change had to wait until next customer was served to receive change. Coffee was a little on the ccol side by the time food was ready. Pastry very overpriced

We always stop in Costa when at Junction One. Great walnut cake with hot chocolate or a blueberry muffin with coconut latte. Service is normally pretty good but does get busy at times

Costa coffee is the best. Love your coffee but find slices of cake etc rather pricey, so I just stick to my fav cappuccino. Best coffee in town. Could do with more wc facilities.

They make a mean cortado. The range of eats has been extended too recently. Outside seating it good too

Went today bought a large coffee and a toasted tea cake i asked for hot water along with this (to put in my babys porridge) i have had this before but today i was told no. Its against policy to give out hot water , i then had to buy a pot of tea with the tea bag seperate for £2 to make my baby porridge. This is a joke !!!! Disgraceful costa. Not child friendly at all !!! Ill just walk on over to starbucks from now on

I love Costa! They have really good coffee. I like to bring my children here, as they have cold drinks called ' frostinos ' which are nice flavored, cold, iced drinks, without coffee! They have indoor and outdoor seating and thats great. You can also get hot chocolates and a large selection of cakes and muffins and things like that. They eve offer sandwiches!

I'm a frequent customer to costa and love their iced tea, got hot, flavourless peach iced tea! Awful

Great spot to have coffee with friends, sit in or outside. Cake, biscuits, crisps all available. Excellent Car parking.

Costa has been established quite a while now at Junction One, & my wife & I are regular customers.

Had a nice coffee and lemon tart here but the cafe is so badly organised. There isn't enough room for customers to wait for their coffees after ordering and it is all a bit chaotic leading to many spillages .

Highly popular so it appeals to many despite its shortcomings. Staff seem inexperienced at times and service is so slow. Having recently experience Costa on the mainland UK I find myself more critical of the Northern Ireland outlets many of which lack the same polish.

Stopped here for a coffee and scone. I thought the scone was too large and quite dry. Coffee was lovely as always

This cafe needs more area and staff as it's constantly packed. Coffees are brilliant, content, temperature not to be faulted. Service is good but really slow, slow, slow. If you don't have a lot of time it's Definately a no no

This is without doubt the dirtiest cafe I have ever been in. I regularly go the Cafe Costa outlets in Belfast City Centre and they're great but this one was completely different in that the seats, carpet and tables were filthy! The coffee was OK but I couldn't take my mind of the grungy seat I was sitting on.

Coffee ok .But coffee shop disgracful seats all staned carpet was littered with day before rubbish not cleaned knives lying on floor ...wont be back ...needs cleaned up or new manager..

I have visited this café usually once a week. Although coffee good a general look around at tables and floor very off putting. Always have to ask staff to clear a table. The floor area is always filthy and need attention ,This is very disappointing as the staff although slow at times are friendly.I have visited other Costa and they are much cleaner.

Went for a quick cuppa with my wife. Had to ask for a clean cup and spoon as the initial ones were dirty. A member of staff then replaced these with a clean cup and another filthy spoon. We then had to chose which was the cleanest table to sit at as all had coffee rings or were sticky. Whilst waiting for my clean cutlery to arrive I had a look around at the rest of the cafe which was generally filthy and grubby. It looks like the whole place needs a proper hoover and scrub. Staff were friendly but I wouldn't go back here due to its lack of cleanliness.

Hubby and I We called in for a coffee to kill some time I tried a decaf flat white, what a taste sensation glee The flat white was worth my last dime I will definitely be back for another coffee

Called in whilst visiting the outlet centre. Coffee very good as was the chocolate twist. Staff very friendly. Sometimes a bit slow in clearing the tables. Cafe wasn't busy so they should be on top of this. Otherwise an enjoyable visit.

My latest visit (of four) confirms that this outlet has improved greatly. Good work ethic amongst the management and staff and a polished performance. Compared to its sister outlet in Ballymena this bistro is outstanding.

Stopped in here for a hot chocolate and a snack. The staff while friendly aren't very helpful. It took nearly ten minutes just for a hot chocolate to be made. The snack I got was fine enough.

Costa Coffee shops are amazing! They have fresh baked goods and excellent coffee. Some shops in railway stations and airports are rather harried, but on the whole if you want a comfy cozy atmosphere and a great cup of coffee with a bit of pastry I highly recommend these little shops which are a chain.

This is a very busy coffee shop, but the staff are always very friendly and helpful.The food is always fresh, and the coffee is always hot and tasty.One point to mention, the tables are not always cleared as quickly as they are used, but if you do have to mention it, they clear & clean straight away.

visited, today although not busy service is very slow and seems to lack organization.While I was there at least 10 customers changed their mind and walked out due to the long wait. some of the staff walked around with food searching for the customer .there were 5 staff on duty but 15- 20 mins is a long wait in a queue with only 5 people in front.!!

Visited on Friday 06 May 2016 Had a Toastie & tea for 2; toastie was good but there was a problem to get a clean cup;one had coffee stains on the outside ;another had black marks inside & one had lipstick stains on the rim; Service is slow Will not visit until they clean up their act.

Went in on May bank holiday. Very busy had to clear own table....no staff to clear. Service to be served very slow. Don't think I would be in a rush back to use them again
