Gets very busy on a Sunday, so probably need to book in advance; food is good but there's space for improvement

I went there today and spent a fortune on food and I barely got anything because everything had gone there was no food and what was there was smeared and left all over the counters it was a disgusting mess,the table was dirty, we barely ate any of the food becuase there was nothing to eat as it was mainly gone and spending money on this is ridiculously!!! the drinks glass were filthy and people were touching all the food with there hands which is unhygienic .the toilets were left in a state!!! Specifically the women ones and the place was so busy we could barely move or get to the food!!! I’m so disappointed in this for nothing and left earlier than the time slot I’m really unhappy and will be leaving this in my review PS I LEFT THIS REVIEW AND THEY RESPONDED TO EMAIL AND WHEN I DID MONTHS AGO NOW THEY NEVER RESPONDED SO THAT SHOWS WHAT A CRAP ESTABLISHMENT THIS PLACE IS

I always enjoy my time here with unlimited food and unlimited drinks (for which you have to pay separately). There are many choices of international foods from which to choose. I love it, and my children do too.

We went on Saturday night it was lovely to see that the staff had dressed up to keep up with the theme around Manchester this weekend. It was very busy but there was still a great selection of food and it was well stocked and hot. All the staff were friendly (reception, servers, chefs). There were quite a few of us at our table but they kept clearing away the empty plates and glasses. Thank you all for an enjoyable first experience

All you can eat buffet 23 pound for 2 hours. Good selection of food if you go try the custard dumpling in the Chinese section. Service is hit and miss with glasses but it's getting your own food when you want.

Compared to Cosmo in Coventry there’s no food to choose from.. a bit of Thai food and that’s basically everything this place can offer. Cold burger and pizza slices absolutely nothing special. For sweet & sour chicken i been told to wait 2min after 10min waiting I just walk out. I wouldn’t recommend, and we definitely not gonna go back there again👎👎👎👎

Me and a friend were hangry and looking for something to eat, nothing was suiting what we were after. We were stood at the corner of Deansgate and Blackfriars, with starvation in our bellies, we turned around and lo and behold… Cosmo’s! Like an oasis in the desert, it was fate! I’d been here before for a birthday visit and didn’t really think much of it, said I wouldn’t go again. But we decided yea, it’s a random Thursday in October, why the hell not? It’s reasonably priced for a city centre buffet, plenty of options to munch through and lots of fat, salt, sugar and MSG. A perfect mix to satisfy a Mancunian with a hole in their stomach. You get at least an hour with the table, the bottomless soft drinks are also a good addition. Fancy a munch and don’t care too much about luxury or pizazz? Go for it!

There are different delicacies from all over the world, there are many types of food, and the price is about 20 pounds, it can be said to be a good choice!

Big buffet world food restaurant. Lots to choose from and good quality. Drink a bit over the odds, Also operates time slots, a bit short if you want a relaxing chow down or a slow eater.

The place was absolutely packed which may be good for them but not great for the guests trying to squeeze past those that felt the venue was their own personal catwalk - blocking walkways for pictures, videoing themselves at the stations, and taking selfies in the most inconvenient places, including one who stepped back without looking straight into a kid, making them spill their drink! I get that the staff don’t exactly control what sort of people walk through the door but seriously, it was actually a hazard that needs addressing! Stayed for just over half an hour because I couldn’t be bothered to fight the self obsessed and downright ignorant people crammed in there any longer than that. Of the two plates of food I did manage to get, nothing stood out, it was pretty average, bit on the cold side and not a lot of flavour. There seemed to be quite a good selection but they seemed to be struggling with demand - some dishes completely empty (pizza) whilst other plates looked like they hadn’t been touched all day (bread and cold cuts). The ice cream machine required staff assistance no less than three times whilst I was there and that area in general was a total mess. The toilets were also a state. To their credit, the staff were pleasant enough and clearly rushed off their feet but trying their best.

Staff work hard. Place is rammed, hard to get to food stations without being pushed and shoved, people leave their manners at the door. Can’t believe that women leave a public toilet in the state they do. Absolutely disgusting and shameless. Would I return, no.

Food wasn’t great, place was way too busy and people acting like animals and pushing in to each other. Barely went to get any food there was that many people at the food stations. Toilets were disgusting (the public are disgusting) not an enjoyable experience. Deserts options were the best part

Visited for my birthday today and the food is absolutely amazing, you have a huge variety of food from Sunday roast dinners to curries from all parts of the world. Amazing value for money £11 per person all you can eat.

Original visit a year ago, Food was hot and pretty tasty but the layout is awful. Nothing flows and is absolute carnage!!!! New visit Sept 2024,.nothing has changed. Bottle neck of people in the narrow walkway past the ice cream machine. Have to walk through them all back to the seating area with a plate of food to have dozens of people breathing all over it 🤢

front of house service was awful, very abrupt booked online for a birthday to be told that because we did not mention it on arrival and when paying we did not receive the free birthday meal even though we had it in an email saying we were visiting for a birthday toilets were very unclean service for removal of plates was slow lots of fruit flies around not much choice of food choclate foundation was not switched on so choclate dip was cold and left to sit ....overall very high price for a spoilt birthday meal!!!!

Don't waste your time and money coming here if you want to get starred or laughed at by numbties or deal with a cocky manager when you try and ask them something. FELT SICK AFTER EATING THIS.. This family ( in the picture) were none stop starring at us and harrasing us while we were trying to eat we were not doing anything litterally just relaxing and enjoying our meal. One of them decided to shove their phone in my disabled sisters face and I don't mean like 3 steps away FULLY CLOSEE UP to her face they cpuld of probably touched her face if they qent any closer.. so anyway they took a picture of her when i went up to get my food while she was eating for NO REASON. After we reported them to the manager they said they didn't want to do anything about it and he had a very rude and arrogant tone about him making fun of the situation as I was trying to explain to him. He did not want to do anything about it not even bothering to tell them not to take pictures of others so we just left. Take this review seriously if you are thinking of going here been here more then once and there's always a problem whether it's food or people the food isn't even as good just go tops £60 quid wasted

Got there half 7 in the evening didnt get service to pay till quarter to 8 and was given a sign saying leave table at half leaving only 45 minutes to eat felt rushed to eat and to go got a burger soggy inside not cooked properly also been the same menus all year now different food used to have healthy varieties no mostly junk food rude staff ask 2 0r 3 times if id pay when cleary charged as soon as served wont be coming again rude staff avoid this place food always hard as a rock.

Me and my lady in our 60s visited for the first time on a Monday evening. Staff were so nice and obliging. The food was very nice what we had but was limited to other similar restaurants. Having said this what was on offer was delicious and to be fair something for everyone. The food was cooked to perfection which is what eating out is all about. I also liked the décor. Well done and we will return.

What a shame this could be lovely but food is mediocre, service is on par with McDonald's and it feels like playing a rugby match with the other diners in order to get to the buffet.

This place is fantastic! There’s a great variety of food, all cooked to perfection and constantly refreshed. You can even have your meal cooked in front of you. The staff, especially Skhurte, are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere and cleanliness are top-notch. Highly recommend and will definitely return soon. Thank you🤩

Tried to make a booking for 3 hours this afternoon, automated system said nothing was available, tried to get through to reception by following the voice promts, after 3 loops around the messages and being asked to wait for reception I was cut off with GOOD BYE!!!

Cosmo Restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience with a wide variety of global cuisines, all beautifully presented. The food is delicious, and the staffs are friendly, making it a perfect choice for any occasion.

Worst dining experience I have ever had. This makes your local chinese feel gourmet. No staples of a buffet (salt and pepper chicken/chips, prawn toast, chicken balls, satay chicken, duck, char siu, szechuan, sweet and sour anything, lemon chicken, garlic mushrooms all not present), literally everything but the spring rolls were cold, even the gammon that was hand carved from a joint (i actually can't fathom how thats even possible) desserts tasted extremely artificial and all were sickly sweet except the cheesecake which literally tasted like yogurt. Naan bread was like trying to eat sandpaper and fish finger (i had to resort to this cuz the options on offer were so dire) was chewy. Charging £25 per person and having "crispy chicken" instead of duck is inexcusable. I normally finish a meal if i have paid for it when eating out but this is the first time in years i have walked out mid meal due to how bad it was.

We tried this restaurant over the weekend as a family of three and was left deflated by how unorganised the infrastructure was laid out. We did pre-book too and stating that one of the party was visually impaired yet we were placed on a table that had longer walking distance to the Buffett! The restaurant was far too busy and guests couldn’t pass each other due to the lay out of the place and what actually crossed my mind is how things would pan out in an emergency such as a fire, it worries me how constructive the plan is as everyone has problems just passing each other already. I felt this venue was over booked and needs to be assessed as a priority because the capacity needs a review due to the venue layout. The food wasn’t ‘Amazing’ and was very bland, the only thing I enjoyed was the salad! The waitresses were kind and pleasant which was the only highlight of the restaurant. I wish I could give a better review…. But it’s best to give honesty! Although we won’t be visiting again

Stayed in manchester for 3 nights and ate here for my first night. Got food poisoning and spent my other two nights stuck in my hotel violently ill. If you come here either stick to the vegetarian options, as they were fine for my boyfriend, or have the next few days booked off work. I also submitted a complaint form 72 hours ago and have heard nothing back apart from an automatic reply giving me a voucher for 15% off my next visit, like i will ever be going back 😂

One of the last non-automated Chinese buffets in Manchester. A wide range of dishes on the buffet, presented in a neat and clear way. It's crowded, so I recommend reserving a table. Right in the center, no parking available at the restaurant. Several cheap parking lots within a 5-minute walk. I recommend it because the food is really good.

Not much veg options. Not very hygienic when it come to food. If you are vegetarian I would not recommend this place.

some of the food was a bit tasteless and needed more sauce adding. but the burgers were amazing!!!!!!!!! i wish they could have stocked up a bit on the cheese and other toppings. i recommend buying the drink as it is bottomless. the pizza unfortunately tasted like cardboard

This used to be a great place to eat. Now it has become a chaotic mess. We had to remind the staff we wanted to start eating so that they could send the bill before we could eat. The Beef tepanyaki was very chewy, the used plates weren't removed from our table promptly. Ice cream machine was not working, the ice cream in the tubs was very foamy and not great quality ice cream. naan breads were very dry and the bowl was not replenished promptly. Food in some of the containers was luke warm at best even after stirring. Plates were not available later on. Had to resort to using the large square plates. There are no small spoons available for the desserts.

"Our reservation was on August 18th, 2024, at 17:30. We booked a table for 10 people to celebrate my son's 9th birthday, consisting of 6 children and 4 adults, and paid £160 for the reservation. Soon after our arrival, the staff inquired about drinks, but I asked for a few minutes. Despite my request, they brought 10 empty glasses and pressured us to order soft drinks. I reiterated that we needed more time to enjoy our meal, but they sent another staff member who took the glass I was using to provide water for the kids, which was already filled with water. As I always encourage my kids to drink water, it was appalling when they took the children's water glasses and replaced them with empty ones. The disrespectful behavior displayed by some of the staff was unacceptable, and their disingenuous smiles did not improve the situation. Although I ultimately purchased a drink for £40.69, the substandard customer service and overall negative experience mean I will not be returning to this establishment. It's disheartening because I have been a patron of Cosmos many times in the past since 2014 but after this experience, I won't be going back there."

My experience at this restaurant was slightly above average. It was a mixed bag. The variety of food options is impressive, ranging from Western to Japanese, Indian, Thai, and other oriental cuisines. The Japanese kitchen (action) and the Thai corner was very good. however, I could taste the frozen food in some cuisines. The 1 ½ hour dining time slot might work well for a couple, but for someone like me, dining with a 7-year-old daughter who eats at a sloth’s pace, it was a bit stressful. Despite this, she enjoyed the chocolate fountain experience a lot!. but again ,unfortunately, the dipping items were already gone by 8:30 p.m. The restaurant does not offer parking facility , but there’s a public car park right in front of the building, which cost us only £3. Overall, Good ! would I come again ? Hmm.. may be yes as the price is competitive ; ) .

Food is good but the stuff not friendly

Went here for a birthday meal, food was okay but nothing spectacular. Large selection of Chinese and Indian food with a range of carvery and other English foods. Can have as much as you want, but do have to pay before you eat with drinks extra. Service was good but especially at the time we went the restaurant was extremely busy with little space between tables leading to cramped dining conditions. Probably wouldn’t go back

Yesterday I went there with my mate to celebrate his getting new job, left to home with diarrhoea 😢😢 I have on Cosmo in welverhampton, Aberdeen, but Manchester was my frist time 😢😢 it was horrible, I am still sick today

Visited today with my mum who's visiting from Australia, Fantastic service and the food was lovely cooked freshly and piping hot with loads of varieties available, lovely atmosphere, 100% recommended and will definitely be visiting again!

The type of food was limited, but the quality was not bad. The space where the food was set was not enough to big, and the customers were too crowded. The atmosphere was noisy and busy. I had to finish the meal in 90 minutes, but some of the food was not filled right away, so I had to wait, and the ice cream machine was also not working in the middle, so the wait was long by customers and it was not enough time to eat overall.

A place to always visit with ur family. Having a reception there won't b a bad idea.

I had a wonderful dinner buffet at COSMO, which makes me very happy. The food was very delicious. The appetiser was excellent. Both the main course and the dessert were delicious. The foods had clear labels and were attractively presented. Above all, the staff was accommodating and willing to assist. Skhurte was the server I had, and she was really kind and pleasant. She assisted with taking quality pictures as well. She provided excellent service, and I will definitely be back. My friend was overjoyed when I brought her here.

My friend and I visited COSMOS as part of my visit to Manchester. The food selections were really good and though at the end of the night we still had some standout dishes ( Highly recommend the stir fried courgettes, tasted DIVINE). I missed the fried chicken I usually enjoy but this was adequately made up for by the jerk chicken wings. The service and ambience was exceptional, Jack and the rest of the team were very accommodating, catering to both my dietary needs and finding me a quiet room to pray.

Really wide selection, really great value for money! A good option to please a wide variety of tastes. The endless crispy duck, stir fried courgette, ice cream machine and chocolate fountain were real highlights! I’ll be back again for those. There was friendly and speedy service and the manager Jack was also really accommodating to my friend who inquired about Halal options and finding a quiet space to pray. With great drink options on top of that, we had a really good time.

Half decent place, but just didn't feel the vibes at all I was part of a big group of diners for a lil ones first birthday. Staff just didn't seem interested they where all over the place, the place is tiny so was always crowded which ever side you turned ended up going for just one plate and one drink (it's a buffet) because I just couldn't be bothered walking there with the way it was crowded

Food was just ok to try.. May be different on different days. But when I visited there were just some varieties of chicken and pork only in the buffet. No other meat varieties. Just an average buffet. Ambience is ok.

Arrived at 4:36pm, just 6 minutes after opening, and there were a handful of people already there. Plenty of food options and good quality food. By around 5:45pm some food options had run out and were needing a refill. Expect some queues for food and a short wait for any fresh cooked food like steak. There's a small amount of mess in some spots, ice overflowing on the drink dispenser and spilt drinks on the floor. Tip for students: you get 10% off the whole bill here if you show your university ID

There were three of us there, we were warmly welcomed and assigned a table. The soft drinks are included. Alcoholic drinks will be charged. The price, which is charged before the meal, is completely ok for this huge, varied and delicious buffet. Because of the tempting offer, we were very full and had to put our stomachs down afterwards😋

Cosmo was a surprising experience, in a good way! Let's get into it... Expectations of buffets are usually low, it's hard to provide top quality taste and food when juggling all different cuisines but Cosmo does it fairly well. The restaurant has a lift to access the first floor where the seating is located so it is wheelchair friendly. On arrival you'll be seated and asked what drinks you want, then you're good to set off and collect a plate and fill her up. There are a lot of choices and obviously too much to try it all, but will break down what I had and the photos provided. Potato curry - excellent authentic taste, has that takeaway warming taste of good flavours. Korma curry - quite poor, was more like a microwave meal, creamy and runny but no strength in the taste, not at all like your takeaway curry or Indian restaurant. I'd be surprised if it had cashews in the korma paste used. It's enjoyable as food, but it's not a quality korma by any means Duck pancake - less crispy duck, more shredded and soft, but still enjoyable. Not certain if the hoisin was hoisin, it seemed more like plum sauce to me which isn't a problem especially considering it's a buffet. Ribs - these were as expected really, similar to most takeaway type of ribs, no complaints here. Hong Kong chicken - was nice, had a thicker sauce which was heavy and tasteful, I enjoyed it wish I had more! The Singapore noodles and egg rice were good, enjoyable, not bad quality. Pizza - is made fresh in front of you, it's fairly basic dough and base, the sauce is okay, the toppings I felt weren't too great, it's not terrible but it's not anything special either. I'd still have another slice. Teppanyaki - cooked fresh in front of you, a choice of squid rings, scallops, beef, chicken, gyoza. I had the beef, was very nice, would go back and have more of this, scallops were nice, but I was cautious eating them, no sickness though since we went so all good! The chicken gyoza were great, I forgot to get a picture but they were really good Desert - chocolate ice cream was quite poor, basic and wasn't worth eating. But the soft serve ice cream was fantastic, just the same as a Mr whippy and brought back childhood memories, I had two. The chocolate fountain is nice, we filled the ice cream cone with it and had the chocolate as a drink, but it was a bit acidic when it shouldn't be. What happens after you eat a lot of food? Nature, Of course. This was the most disappointing part of the whole experience. The toilets were neglected and awful. 2 cubicles, 1 toilet didn't even flush properly and was blocked. The second toilet didn't even have a toilet seat on it. These standards were unacceptable and unusable which really is extremely poor on the restaurant. Technically they should not even be operating without a usable toilet facility as the legislation states if there are over 10 seats (which this restaurant massively exceeds) there must be toilet facilities. Useable ones not blocked, broken flush, missing seat. If the restaurant feels they are usable then this is disgusting and filthy standards to impose on diners. The toilets were also unchecked Sunday, we left at 3pm and photo was taken then. Overall, we did have a good time, and would come back to try the dishes we missed out on and for the cheap cost. It is very affordable for what is on offer at £21 for the buffet.

Oh my gollygosh this is the most amazing place everrrrr! The food was fantastic, the atmosphere is so welcoming and beautiful and the service is beyond amazing! Funny you should mention service.... I had a funny interaction with one of the chefs! As I was grabbing my noodles coz they were so delicious and well made by your impeccable cheffy chef. He looked at my sunflower lanyard and yelled "Petal." I was cackling for 5 minutes. Wow. I didn't know u hired cheeky comedians to cook my noody noodles. My friends now call me the "cosmo petal" which I adore! All down to your awesome service at this welcoming place. Sending all the cheffy chefs much love one day I'd love to be a chefy chef in my own kitchen I want a business called cheffy chef chefs n we all wear lanyards.... anyway I'm yapping now love you leave you! We went here as a group of 11 for my dad’s birthday and it was awful from start to finish. On arrival we went up to the restaurant to book in and there was a strong smell of sewage, not what you want to smell when you enter a restaurant. We booked for 4pm and arrived early but by the time we had been made to pay for the whole thing before you’re even seated, been shown to a table and ordered drinks it was 10 past 4 meaning we’d already wasted 10 minutes of our time when we only had an hour and a half in the first place. Our table was squashed in against a wall and there wasn’t enough space for all of us to sit so we all had to squash in to the seats and table provided. The restaurant had far too many people in it, there was no queuing system so everyone was just pushing in and bumping in to each other. Other customers were leaving the food containers open so the food was going cold, my son went to get some chicken wings and a person in front of him sneezed all over them! Bearing in mind it was only the beginning of tea service the food wasn’t being replenished enough taking in to account how many customers were in there. Half of it was empty or just inedible. I understand the staff are very busy but we also weren’t having our table emptied at all and I was having to do it for us so we could get more food. Trying to find a clean plate was virtually impossible as the ones that were on the ‘clean’ pile weren’t. It seemed they were very quick to take your money from you before you’d actually received any sort of service (the size of our party meant we spent about £250 on food and drink) but then weren’t so quick giving you any sort of decent customer service once you were seated. We came away very disappointed, especially seen as it was for a birthday celebration. We did get a free meal for the birthday boy but this is the only positive thing I have to say.

Went here for the first time with my boyfriend and it was absolutely beautiful. The food was delicious. Lovely choice of Indian, Chinese and African, Italian, all they need now to top it off is a Jamaican haha. But overall defiantly worth the price and will be returning again. Was impressed.

Blimey! Booked to eat & had to queue which was annoying, don’t agree with the height for kids 155cm paying full price, it should be age. Once sat down it was manic with loads of people in attendance, food excellent though which is very important, eat as much as you want which is the draw going to Cosmo. However I was open mouthed with the amount of people that were stuffing their faces with all the different food that was on offer & amount of over weight people. Conclusion being it’s a set price, all you can eat, let’s have it.

With the exception of the gents toilets often being smelly and could be doing with more frequent cleaning + air freshener use, the: *Reception Staffers/Manageress: Are often some of the most polite and friendly staff that one can meet, consistently, as are often the waitresses. *Food is gorgeous with plenty of choice :)

Through the whole service of getting food a table was constantly giving my family grief but once talked with the management everything was resolved and my sister feel happy with the way things have been dealt with

I went there specially for my family's birthday and it was very, very unpalatable. The food was very stale and the shrimps were completely powdered. It was very very stale and I was afraid I would have diarrhea. The ice cream was melted and was not placed in the refrigerator. All the desserts were made with essence. The quality was... Very bad. Other food is also very unpalatable. It all feels like cold, stale meat. Zhongfu!

Went there Saturday lunch around 1:30pm. The food counter not have much. Need topping up and not much selection to be honest plus too hot in food counter and food tends to get dry. This is my honest review.

What an awful experience from start to finish. We went on a Saturday, which understandably is busier. We started at the bar downstairs waiting for our table. We were over charged by this bar-(as were 2 other couples when we were there) They sorted it out upstairs for us though. When we sat down it was SO BUSY!! We couldn’t move around the food and the food was going quicker before they were bringing it out. What they were bringing out was inedible and veryyyyyy SLOW!! We both had upset stomachs not long after leaving. Id rather go to the other world buffet where the food is plentiful and crowds controlled !

I would say the experience is what matters. This place is very beautifully decorated and reasonably priced for an Asian buffet. They have a nice spread and anyone looking for Indian curries or noodles or sushi can have what they want. The dessert section is great and definitely kinda would have that. Overall the place will not disappoint you

My experience at COSMO All You Can Eat in Manchester was extremely disappointing, to say the least. The service was subpar right from the beginning. With only an hour to eat, we were already pressed for time, yet the lady at reception completely ignored us for a good five minutes while she gossiped with her colleague. When she finally acknowledged us, she curtly informed us, "You only have less than an hour to eat, just to let you know." Perhaps if she had attended to us promptly, we could have used those precious minutes more effectively. The poor service continued as we were led to our table. The girl who showed us our seat simply pointed to the other side of the dining area and said, "There’s your seat," before disappearing. This left us confused and wandering around trying to figure out which table was ours. This level of unprofessionalism was unacceptable and frustrating. Despite arriving hours before closing, which was the last booking slot available, there was hardly any food left. All the dishes were empty, and the desserts section was a complete wasteland with only a few stale cakes available. The ice cream had no toppings- not even sprinkles! And the profiteroles were warm and sour. One would expect that even in the later hours, there would be enough food to cater to the guests who book these slots, but clearly, this was not the case. There was also a horrible smell in the waiting area, it smelt like sewages which made me feel sick just before eating. Overall, the waitresses were rude and unwelcoming, adding to the negative experience. I would not recommend COSMO All You Can Eat in Manchester to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience. The poor service, lack of food, and overall unprofessionalism make it a place to avoid. Wish I could rate -1 for stars.

I have tall kids I got charged full adult prices for 1 child and she hardly eats anything So I think there should be 3 tears of pricing 1 adult 1 teen 1 child As a single parent I took the kids out as they have done well at school. But other than that we enjoyed our visit

Unbelievable selection. Nice staff. The buffet beat me.

I would say one should definitely try it once if you are looking for Asian food under one roof. The spread is really nice so whether you are looking for Indian curries or noodles or sushi you will get it here. Taste wise also it is good. The place is beautifully decorated and the dessert section will be a hit if you come with kids. Overall it is a nice place to spend time with family and friends and have nice Asian food
