Cordelias Takeaway in Armagh

I am writing this about the Newry road take away. Ordered a chicken fillet burger with chilli mayo and only a wee bit of salad About a fiver sterling. When I got it it was a soggy mess. Coleslaw, cheese and raw onions and a slap of salad despite my instructions. The actual chicken burger was a large breaded breast and nice but the bap couldn't contain all and was a horrible wet mess. Threw most of bap and salad away. Giving 4 for price, staff, cleanliness and previous decent food.

I feel bad writing a negative review, especially as the person serving was very nice. However this is probably the worst takeaway I have ever had. I ordered a chicken box, which came with chips. The chips were like frozen oven chips, that had been deep fat fried. And the chicken was terrible. There were two pieces, one on the bone and one breast. The chicken was battered as opposed to being breaded. It was then deep fat fried. Honestly when I saw the breast, I thought it was battered fish they had given me. I can definitely say I would not advise, and this has put me off getting a takeaway again!

Awful food It was consistent - consistently bad Fish was dripping in grease Burger was well cooked — but not that day Chicken bits were battered then deep fried — ugh And the chips were a mess I will never be back But the staff were pleasant 😀

Stopped off on way to Newry as little open Monday night in Armagh centre. Ordered a steakette and a pair of pork sausages. You pay,then wait in car and they bring it out. Took about 8 minutes but that was fair as they were busy. They forgot to put ketchup on it. The girl was not sure what ketchup was he he,asking is it tomato sauce. Well anyway the sausages and few free chips were good. The steakette was a steakette not a battered burger. It is like a spiced heart shaped burger meat in bread crumbs. It again came with a few chips. It was very nice and not at all greasy. The place is clean,efficient and fair priced. Mine came to £5.00 with 10 or 20 pence knocked off. I do recommend it.

I visited Cordelias for the second time last week after getting a great “vegetarian” meal in October 2019 . If you’d asked me to write a review then it would have been a glowing one. However when I asked for a vegetarian burger and chips this time (stating that I could not eat any animal products including the oil that they cook it in ) I was told that they don’t do exclusively vegetarian dishes and all their food is cooked along with meat etc even though I was told another story in October..... thoroughly disgusted as I was reassured by another staff member on my first visit that they would cook my meal in vegetable oil with no other meat.... somebody’s lying somewhere.... not impressed that I have been compromised, and I won’t be back 😡

This is a chippy take away. I stopped for a burger on way past to stem my hunger. It was a nice burger and the place is clean. The girl serving was friendly. Prices are average and I was told they have another take away chippy on Keady Road. Lack of a bin outside is a problem. Hard to judge it fully on a burger but I will try again.
