I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. My partner and I where visiting the area and made so feel so welcome. The landlord deserves a special mention, as soon as I mentioned whiskey he offered me a sample of everything he has on the menu ++ other spirits. The best landlord experience I have ever had. Mini lock in with other dedicated patrons. this was a wonderful evening. Much love. Highly recommended 10 stars

The best little pub in town very friendly excellent prices can take your dog in no loud music lots of freindly chatter. New owners now new decor, has back round music, which Is nice, still a lovely little pub, different under the new owners not a bad thing, but I did like the old one but things change and move on, watch the wonky table tops did replace the split pint, with no hassle so all is well in cobblers land

Great friendly pub, with great range of beers always available, and a very warm welcome. Definitely worth a visit if you live in or visit Newent and are in the market for good beer, a great choice of gin, and a friendly staff and clientele. We wouldn't go anywhere else!

A micro pub serving ale straight from the casks on the back of the bar, also fizzier beers, cider and lager, very good selection of spirits. The atmosphere is friendly, with new and old customers are welcomed..

Wonderful little pub with good choice of cask ales, spirits and non alcoholic options. Owners and bar staff friendly and welcoming, non-intrusive music, no TV, live music effects on ad hoc evenings, and a great atmosphere. Good sized back room for hire for meetings, workshops etc. Little gem of a local pub!

A really welcoming pub. Great selection of spirits and the ales were in superb condition. Being a Sunday there were bowls of roast potatoes on the bar for us to enjoy. Definitely will return.

Visited Tuesday last week and pub was full of very friendly people and this was early evening just after opening. Three real ales on and all served direct from the barrel on the bar. All in excellent condition and all different flavours. I had to have all three. Apparently regular turnover of unusual beers and these were three I had never had before. Had a chat with owners and both very knowledgeable. Fantastic venue and will definitely visit again when next in Newent which hopefully will be soon

You couldn’t ask for a friendlier or more open hearted welcome. This place is a home from home. Very well priced and you can even bring any food from any local takeaway to eat if you get hungry. I wish there were more places like this where I lived. Dogs welcome (and treated with biscuits and love!) xxx

Very "clicky" micropub in a town which appears to have been declining for years. Beer very flat and mobile phones banned which is ironic as it was our phones that found the place. Nothing here that makes we want to go back.

Excellent pub. Lovely staff, friendly locals. Has specific opening and closing times. No wifi, no music, no tv, as want people to talk to each other! Doesn't serve food but happy for visitors to eat takeaway in largish area at the back of the pub. But no cutlery... usually locals or visitors get excellent fish and chips in shop nearby! 3 Real ales from local micro breweries served directly from barrels! Beers last for maybe for 2/3 days then new ones set up... diverse range if beers. Special offers on gin and beer. Had beers that cost £3 a pint! Has quiz every so often (not a regular weekly feature) to raise money for local causes. Some board games cards and dart board. Small area to sit outdoors.. but really designed for smokers... has a couple of park benches. Lovely, social, relaxed atmosphere. Wonderful place... wish it was my local.

You will not find anywhere locally that has a friendlier atmosphere or bar staff. The owners & regulars alike welcome everybody with open arms. With an ever changing lineup up of fabulous ales, sourced countywide & a great selection of flavoured gins, all at great prices, what's not to like?
