Went in to Meadowhall yo sushi for a birthday meal and the seating plan is just awful My family had to sit in a line side by side, so to talk to my wife I had to shout down the table as she was at the other end and sat opposite me was a random couple who had colds and were sneezing and snotting the entire time. Food was perfect but still a very expensive and ruined birthday treat. Never again.

Monday noon chill shopping in Meadowhall, saw this new Yo.. , few minutes waiting for ours sit. Menu show price increase a lot than b4 move in this new shop lot . Waitress services good , but sushi ( Salmon 🍣) taste low standard fish , order a fried veg.soba noodles , flat taste ( no taste at all ) and oily and full of wok burning , are there apprentice-chef ? We totally ate 4 plates & a noodles then gone .. find other foods at food-court.

Not as good since it changed location. Feels like a whole new restaurant, the vibe is completely different and not for the better. The food has gone down in quality, portion sizes used to be way better, feels like they are rationing in every aspect now. This is probably the biggest disappointment about the new restaurant. I’d try yo sushi again in other locations just not the Meadowhall one from now. Also got rid of the qr code to order which makes the wait times seem even longer and just makes it harder for the workers. Qr code worked perfectly before I don’t know why they changed this, ruins the experience due to long wait times as expected from table service vs qr code. Shame as used to be one of my fave restaurants in Sheffield.

I have been a customer for 17 years, when an orange plate was £3 for Yo Rolls and they were filled well with salmon and avocado. Now they are mainly rice with not much inside them and you expect us to now pay £5,85 what a joke. Secondly the service at Meadow hall is terrible since Yo has moved into the food area. Front of house couldn’t care less it’s completely lost its appeal and i will not be supporting YO Sushi ever again. It’s become cheap soulless food with No quality anymore. Avoid it at all costs.

Unfortunately a very unpleasant meal. 1) The spicy seafood ramen was not Japanese ramen noodles but some generic yellow noodles. It was very salty and acidic. The chicken katsu curry sauce is very salty as well. 2) The seaweed salad I got from the belt had a long blond hair in it! I told the waitress and she said she’ll take care of it then left. She left without a word of apology and never came back to the table to explain what’s going to happen. She did not offer to give me a replacement dish or take it off the bill, until I asked about it at the end of the meal, she agreed to remove it from the bill. 3) I was using the NHS blue light discount which should come with free gyoza. I’ve told the waitress in the beginning of the meal that I would qualify for this discount. However they never gave us the gyoza and said the kitchen was closed when I asked about it at the end of the meal. I will not be coming back again.

A terrible experience! At the same price, you can get much better quality salmon elsewhere! The freshness of the seafood here is questionable, and the plates had old stains, making them seem unclean. The transparent covers also appeared dirty, and the soy sauce had unidentified floating particles, raising concerns about hygiene. As expected, I had diarrhea after eating here! I’m speechless and won’t be coming back. Even the ready-to-eat sushi from the M&S store downstairs tastes better! The Japanese fried chicken was just as bad, resembling cheap supermarket fast food rather than authentic Japanese karaage!

Was seated and told someone would be over to take our order, no one came so after 25-30 minutes we had to ask if someone could come over, staff seem fed up and like it’s an inconvenience when you ask to order. Food was poor and bland, barely any flavour or sauce anymore on any of the dishes we ordered. The beef was very chewy. Used to love this place but been twice now to the new location and been disappointed both times, won’t be rushing back and can see from all of the other poor reviews this is clearly a pattern.

New location looks good but isn't great. If you're looking for a quick meal i would not recommend this place. The staff seem to be ignorant, don't be surprised when they walk past you to wipe down the same table 3 or 4 times before acknowledging your existence when you want to be served. Which doesn't help when you need to remind them again of your order because they seem to forget as soon as they take your order. Yo sushi should bring back the QR code system at this location or simply better staff training as this would help improve communication and wait times. The sushi was good. But soggy egg noodle 'ramen' wasn't close. We were at the restaurant for 7pm and the sushi on the conveyor belt were £6 plates and above for hour and half we were there. When the ramen came i could only eat the little bit meat from it as it was really disappointing. Also, the old restaurant layout was so much better because all you get now is awkward eye contact across the table from a stranger. Place a divider in the centre of the conveyor belt and give people a little privacy.

Conveyor belt was very limited. No tuna sushi left and it was only 4:30/5pm. Had to wait quite a while to noticed by servers. Didn’t get a hot dish in time as they gave it to a different customer who ordered after. Left hungry and with a £70 bill for the rest of the family.

Service and staff were lovely but the place has taken a nose dive in standards since the last time I ate there, the portion sizes have been cut in half; yet the prices remain the same. £70 for 2 people and we felt like we had just eaten an appetiser, it seems Yo Sushi is another company slowly trying to shrink food items whilst thinking the general public either don’t realise or are stupid. FYI you need to update the menus photos as it still shows the correct portions not some kids size. Never again will I waste my money here.

Two members of staff refused to serve us a hand roll without the avocado in it. Apparently that’s a “main” ingredient and the only way you can have the roll without the avocado is if you’re allergic. They wouldn’t make a fresh one because they were already made up…. But the menu states fresh Japanese food…..?? Utterly ridiculous and bizarre. Can you imagine ordering food from a restaurant, for example a pizza place, asking for it minus one topping and being told no?

Disappointed with my first visit here! Quite a few things went wrong. The server who greeted us was friendly enough, and our actual server had good intentions, but service was poor overall. There was no explanation offered as to how the menu works, and we had to ask for chopsticks and cutlery. Service was slow and therefore when we wanted to order food, drinks or had an issue, we were left waiting for far too long and had to try and flag down members of staff. My friend's food took almost an hour to arrive, and at no point did it feel like the issue was properly followed up, instead leaving us to ask different members of staff for an update, none who had received communication from other team members about what was happening. When something like this happens, you expect an apology and to ensure the issue is promptly followed up, none of which happened. We were not asked how our experience had been (except for a review on a tablet, which the team didn't review) and therefore, neither a discount on the bill or a goodwill gesture were offered. The food was nice, and clearly marked plant-based options were appreciated, but portion sizes were small and overall, the meal was bad value. We were excited to try this place and were left feeling annoyed by a lack of attentiveness from staff, long waits and small portion sizes.

Decided to come here as it was busy in other shops and wished we’d queued somewhere else. We waited in the queue for about 10/15 mins which was fine, we get seated and start looking at the menu and dishes on the conveyor belt. We picked some dishes from the conveyor belt but we weren’t given any cutlery or napkins so we had to eat with our hands. Server came and took our order, there were 3 of us eating out today, took about 20 minutes before we got drinks and chopsticks. The food came out at random times and my friend had finished his entire meal before my main food even arrived. Waited about half an hour before asking someone to check on my food (I ordered a Korean chicken donburi). My other friend had ordered the Korean chicken as a side dish anyway so I expected mine to come out at the same time as his, as mine was the same but with rice. They then called for final orders but I was still waiting on my chicken donburi, It turns out that my order had ‘gone through’ but hadn’t been made, so I had to wait longer (everyone had finished eating at this point). Then had to ask another server 10 minutes later where my food was to which I was told it was coming in 2 minutes. Luckily the food was nice when it came. Another problem we had was that about 15 minutes in, the server bringing food to the table next to us accidentally dropped a tray of food on the floor, which obviously is fine but the problem was that it didn’t get properly cleaned up the whole time we were there. Terrible hygiene. The server who dropped it was just wandering around the kitchen after this happened, we could see over the counter. The server had also done our order incorrectly, my friend had ordered the large no-chicken katsu curry, however when it came I was shocked at the portion size. But it made sense when the server came back after my friend had already eaten the meal (bare in mind we had not eaten here before so we didn’t know the sizes), he had given my friend a regular portion… didn’t offer an apology but instead asked if he wanted to order more, not ideal considering how expensive the food is already. Don’t get me wrong the food was tasty, however the portions were very small and the prices were ridiculous. The servers were friendly but the service wasn’t good, maybe the training is lacking? We weren’t offered an apology/discount/refund for the trouble we had. Also we didn’t like that the staff were refilling wasabi/ginger/soy sauce and tidying the tables away right next to us while we were still eating (well I was eating as my food took so long to arrive). It made us feel rushed and just wasn’t nice to watch while eating. That, in my opinion, should be done after the customers have left the restaurant. I wouldn’t eat here again after the experience we had today, and wouldn’t recommend it either.

Visited for the 1st time for my son’s 21st. Played darts and golf. Booked in for a meal afterwards. Can only congratulate everyone. The venue is stunning, bar staff welcoming, the games were all great and well thought out. The food was outstanding. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks to everyone for helping us make his day so special.

This was my first time dining in the new location. Unfortunately, it is likely to be the last one too. The service was really quite poor. We stood at the entrance waiting for a table for at least 5 minutes before we were even acknowledged, let alone brought to a table. This is considering it was not busy since it was around 19:45. Once at the table, we were briefly told about how everything works and the waitress said she'd be back to take our orders in 5 minutes. After waiting 10/15 minutes I tried to flag down anyone to try and get some food as the waitress was too busy setting tables. She didn't look in our direction once. After eventually ordering, the food took a fair while to arrive at the table. It had even got to 20:30 when the last orders should be placed and the waitress asked if we wanted to get anything else. I explained that we were still waiting on some food, to which she walked off to check on it. She came back to say that it's going to be with us shortly before trying to walk off again. I managed to ask her as she was leaving if I could get a refill of my green tea as well as request the bill. Not once was there a question of if we needed anything or if the food was okay. Overall, the food was decent but overpriced, the atmosphere was probably the only good thing in the restaurant. The customer service is the major failing point here as the staff were disinterested and not attentive. I expected better and I'm a bit disappointed. I will not be recommending going here for food.

So tried the new restaurant out... Had to ask for a napkin because there wasn't any at the table, at the same time I asked for a knife and fork, but my request was ignored, yet she did say "OK" staff bringing the food to the table are very quick to leave, a simple question of "Do you need anything?" Would be nice. A very kind lady got a knife and fork and some napkins for me aswell because she asked at the same time. Also the QR Code way of ordering has been removed... would be very beneficial for you to bring it back!

We were invited at the beginning of November to try the new menu at Clubhouse and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Shame I wasn’t feeling 100% as I couldn’t test out the cocktails and didn’t feel up for gaming on that particular visit, but we will absolutely be back for bowling , mini golf and probably a tipple or two! We enjoyed; Cauliflower Wings with Sriracha Mayo (vg) (£6) – I hadn’t had Cauliflower “wings” before and these were really tasty and well cooked, and obviously a lot less messy than chicken wings. A great vegan option that I would definitely eat again. Nachos Sharer with Cheese Sauce, Tomato Salsa, Sour Cream, Pickled Jalapeños and Guacamole. (v) (£8) – This was a mountain on nachos with all the best toppings. A great sharer plate. Club Sando; Grilled Chicken, Bacon, Cheese, Spicy Mayo, Iceberg Lettuce on Toasted Brioche. Served with fries (£14) – This was banging!! It was by far my favourite dish of the evening. The sandwich was perfect and reminded me of holidays as I love a club sandwich on holiday! I did feedback that there were way too many fries for one person but maybe other may not agree… The Clubhouse Burger; Double Smash Patty, Bacon, Cheese, Burnt Butter Miso Mayo and Onions. Served with Fries. (£14) – A decent burger, the cheese and mayo was very rich. Again there were a LOT of fries, I just hope they don’t have a lot of waste. Churros (?) – I couldn’t say no to the Churros on the dessert menu however I found these a little disappointing in that they were soft… I prefer churros to be crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. But they were a massive portion and the dulce de leche sauce was superb Other dishes available to feast on are; Starters/Small Plates such as Beef Shin Bon Bons, Mac & Cheese Bites, Chicken Tenders etc with prices ranged between £6 – £10. For your Main select from various Burgers, Tacos and Sandwiches priced from £12 – £15, and discover other Sharing Platters and Desserts too! Although I didn’t get to try the cocktails I initially thought they were slightly overpriced for a Shopping Centre at around £8 – £12 BUT I did see them being served and they looked great quality and freshly made, not just out of a bottle! So I would definitely like to try some at some point. I’d also like to shout out to the staff who were great, our service was faultless.

I have been to Yo! in several occasions and in different places. I can honestly say that this was the worst experience I have ever had. I am not sure why it had to move from where it was in meadowhall but it was not a great idea. As we approached the dining space there was about 10 people in. We waited at the designated place, and stood there for about 10 minutes, whilst staff just walked past us. We were then taken to a booth. Well there was not a lot of space, the cushions did not allow you to slide along. The server came and explained that she would take any orders. After about 20 minutes she came back and we ordered drinks, I could not believe that a can of coke was nearly £4. The food going round in the belt was boring and displayed badly, it was all the same dishes. The drinks finally came. I selected two dishes one of them was edame beans. The food was tasteless and the portions were small. On a neighboring table they ordered something hot. One of the dishes was noodles with a sauce on, when it came the portion was even a portion. The seating was like a school dining room and if full you would feel like you were sitting in the person next to you knee. All in all I won't be returning and won't be recommending it to anyone. It was daylight robbery. And the change is not for the best. Shame.

Loved the previous yo sushi in meadowhall so was excited to try the new restaurant style that's opened, however left super disappointed. No QR codes to be able to order in your own time anymore, so you wait for someone to come take your order which seemed to take quite a while. After ordering drinks they came about 15mins later. I ordered pumpkin katsu which took about 20mins to come and then was given chicken katsu so had to send back and wait for the right dish. Slow and clunky service especially waiting so long for staff to come take your order. To then be charged a service charge which you arent told about beforehand, which i would have no problem at all with normally, but the service was not great at all. Paid over £60 to leave hungry and disappointed, and went to macdonalds after to pick up more food. After loving yo sushi for years, wont be coming back to this particular restaurant anytime soon, and it makes me sad to say that but its the worst dining experience ive had in yo sushi so far.

We visited Yo in Meadowhall for the first time in a few years and can honestly say we wished we hadn’t bothered. All the food is now extremely overpriced for what it is, and the quality and variety has gone down hill. We had an ask twice for one dish as it didn’t arrive, then we were served a dish we didn’t even order (and we only ordered 9 dishes). Yo now adds a service charge to the bill automatically, which I think is outrageous and is not done in this country. If I want to leave a tip, then I will leave a tip. The booths are so small you’re packed in like sardines. The atmosphere is dull and depressing and quite frankly there are far better sushi restaurants in nearby Sheffield.

We called the attention of the host later,who said some would be with us shortly. Service needs to be better if you are charging service charge. Dropping drinks off and having a chef drop off a few plates doesn't warrant a service charge.

Probably wouldn't recommend. We asked the server if she could sit us in a booth, she said no, as we are just 2 people and they have some larger groups coming so they need them open, which is totally understandable. However, we then saw them filling the booths with other couples. There is no QR ordering system, although it does say so on the menu, and the service was very slow. We were seated for about 20 minutes before they took our drink and food orders. They also forgot about our miso soup, which we had to remind them to bring. At this point we decided to leave and go elsewhere, but it took a long time to get the bill. We also used the 20% student discount, but this was not applied, even when the server said that it had, and they apply a 10% service charge which is not clearly disclosed. The food wasn't good at all as well. I will say some of the servers were lovely and friendly. A shame as the experience at the old location was pretty decent but the standards at the new location have really gone down.

Went for lunch, sat and ordered our food. Wife ordered chicken katsu, and I ordered seafood ramen. Also ordered some popcorn shrimp and 'yo' fries to share. It wasn't overly busy, but our food seemed to take a while to be served. My wife's katsu arrived, then probably 5 mins later, the fries and shrimp. I asked about the ramen to be told it would be 5-10 minutes more. I explained that we would like to enjoy our food together, and the server advised that he would chase my dish. When it arrived, the seafood was minimal and extremely overcooked. The amount of seafood was not even half of what was pictured on the menu. The menu stated that it was served with a soy marinated boiled egg. I received half a boiled egg that clearly had not seen any soy. When we asked for the bill, I explained my issues with the ramen. The server was clearly shocked but thanked me for my feedback. Overall I left very disappointed. We probably won't return to this restaurant again. ☹️

We came here for a Christmas do and could not fault the package - £45 pp for a meal, game of bowling, game of mini golf and 2 drinks (any drinks could be chosen in the package - not just a selection!). The meals were great - no complaints and they were able to accommodate all our group’s requirements. My main reservation before going was the fact it is in Meadowhall, but honestly you forgot that when you were inside. Overall, it’s a brill venue with nice decor, great facilities and friendly staff. Would recommend!

We got seated pretty quickly, and the lady checked we knew how to order. We were then left to it, which was fine. We ordered a few plates and took a couple off the belt too. The ones on the belt were ok, but we did notice some of the plates on the belt missing the salad bits that go with them. We got our plates after quite a long wait, around 25-30 minutes, one of which was the Green Vibes Only plate, which again came with no salad, and one of which was the Japanese Kara age chicken, which came on the saddest looking dry old salad I’ve seen presented in a restaurant. I took a picture of each of these as I was quite surprised at the lack of care in delivering good fresh food. I did mention it to the man taking payment at the end, he said he was sorry and they’ll ’try to do better next time’, and that was all that was said. I usually would have spent more, had more food, but after this disappointment I won’t be heading back at all.

Attended yesterday for lunch whilst out shopping. Had to seat ourselves after we were ignored multiple times whilst waiting to be seated and when someone finally came to see us they complained we had sat ourselves. Ordered on the app - took 30 minutes to get anything to our table not even tap water. My sushi had the smallest amount of fish in my maki it was the tiniest bleb on salmon that you couldn't even see from one side and when I complained there was no offer of remaking just oh right okay. The miso soup was watery, bland with the nori in it still crispy and the spring onions raw and rubbery. Honestly it was awful and when I spoke to the manager they just took a couple items off the bill without really apologising. Food was mediocre and the service was rubbish! I'll be sticking to Mr Myagis in the city centre for better sushi!

We visited on a Friday evening, relatively quiet wouldn’t say it was packed as I have seen before this place have queues and this wasn’t the case. We waited at the till for around 5 minutes and were ignored twice by the server before finally seating us down, we requested to sit in a booth as the bar isn’t quite our style and this was accepted. Big mistake. Sitting at a booth is out of sight out of mind and the service to follow was terrible. We ordered a katsu curry on the offer of BOGOF which we waited 45 minutes to arrive. The chef in the kitchen I have extreme sympathy for, working on his own with 5 other staff members doing absolutely nothing to help him. When the curry finally arrived I was told to qualify for the BOGOF offer I had to order 2 curry’s via the app. I apologised for my mistake and asked if they wouldn’t mind bringing me another, they accepted. We had to ask another 2 times as they had “forgotten” we had ordered. In total we waited 1 hour 20 minutes for our food. We were not the only ones having to wait and saw 2 other couples walk out unhappy with the wait times. When the food arrived it was delivered by (guess who) the chef, who was working on his lonesome not only doing the cooking but the waiter service too. I didn’t manage to catch his name unfortunately. Overall awful service from the staff, chef was fantastic and food spot on but unfortunately a bad experience and won’t be returning.

The staff were absolutely wonderful; they remained helpful, friendly and polite despite the fact that it was extremely busy. They smiled and were warm throughout both visits. The food was fresh, tasty and abundant. It was nice to see the conveyer back to how it was before. Both the hot and cold food were delicious! I wouldn’t normally go twice in one day, but it was the lovely staff, chefs and servers alike that made me want to return! Total credit where it’s due and kudos to such a welcoming team, who made me feel like a valued customer. Thank you all!

After waiting to be seating which we didn’t I decided to sit down with my family as no one wanted to seat us when there was loads of seats. Then stright after the woman came over to me to have a go at us for not waiting. Honestly felt so embarrassed and wanted to leave but I drove all that way to get sushi. All the food tasted warm and not fresh at all. Honestly the worst yo sushi I’ve ever been to don’t waste your time and go somewhere else with better service!

Not a great location as you're sat within the central travel zones, with people eyeing what is being prepared and eaten. The waiting time is increased as staff situated customers with a spare seating place between them, meaning there were gaps e erywhere and as a consequence, insuffient space for new customers. The food was slow but tasty when it arrived.

New menu meant we had to try some of the new plates, we particularly liked the popcorn mochi desert! Always gets busy so recommend getting a table booked to guarantee getting in. Used a voucher for this trip, glad I had it as the price has gone really steep in price. We just had 2 large Pumpkin Katsus in this one and ordered some tap water. The water never arrived so we had to flag someone down half way through the meal. You can order on the app but you have to pay in person now. The food was hot and extremely filling, everytime I visit the portion sizes are different. Table was clean and there is a lot of choice on the menu. We also wanted to order the Yo!, Fries which weren't on the app menu but they were on the physical one? So we just had to assume they were out of stock as there was no one to ask.

Drinks took 20 mins to arrive. If you don’t want to order on the app then you have to go searching for a server to place an order because they just assume that everyone is using the app. We ordered a dish without sauce for my son and it arrived with sauce on then it took another 20 mins to arrive. We asked if we could have plain cucumber and they said that they were unable to do that even though the dishes are prepared fresh so they would have had cucumber. Food kept arriving to our table that had been ordered to the table behind us. There was no offer of forks or spoons for the children, these used to be on the tables. We were still waiting for some of the dishes 45 mins after ordering them so we ended up cancelling them. Then they had the cheek to add a 10% service charge to the bill without asking us, I don’t mind paying for it when we have had good service but they should still ask first.

YO! Sheffield Meadowhall Rating: ⭐⭐ The YO! Sheffield Meadowhall experience left much to be desired, despite its friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Our total bill amounted to £33, a sum that did not reflect the value of the dining experience we had. We initially ordered three food items and two drinks, expecting a filling meal. However, only the drinks and two disappointing mains made it to our table. To fill the void, we eventually resorted to selecting sushi from the conveyor belt, which were priced around £6 each. These, too, were underwhelming in portion size, adding to our dissatisfaction. A significant issue arose when one of our ordered dishes went missing, and the staff claimed no knowledge of it. This mishap seemed to imply a cancellation but without any explanation or communication, which added confusion to our already lackluster meal. Considering the small portions and the dishes from the belt priced around £6, the overall experience felt overpriced and unsatisfying. We left the restaurant disappointed, feeling that our £33 could have been better spent elsewhere. In conclusion, YO! Sheffield Meadowhall has a lot of room for improvement. It earns a meager two-star rating, falling short in both value and communication. If you're a sushi aficionado, you might find better satisfaction and value at a YO! Sushi within a Tesco.

Huge recognition to the team working the early shift today. Particularly Marilla (MJ). The restuarant was so busy, and MJ was trying her best to host, clear, serve and clean with a massive queue. Despite it all she kept a massive smile on her face and treated each set of customers with the same smile, politeness and professionalism as the ones before (I certainly didn’t feel rushed). As a lover of Asian foods - our search for food in the Oasis at Meadowhall, usually consists of a 15 minutes wander up, down and around, looking at menu boards, before ultimately ending up in Wagamama or Yo! Sushi.. Never been disappointed in a meal here. Food: Always tastes fresh and high quality (honestly never seem to get Sashimi so fresh and well portioned as here). You can see the food being prepared in the centre - if that tickles your fancy or soothes your curiousity. It is at the average to higher end of pricing for Sushi, but I'd say worth every penny either way. Plus the Miso is unlimited - always a winner. Service: The staff and team here have always been friendly, outgoing and helpful - unlike most places, I've never seen any staff at Yo! wandering around like they're either lost or watching the clock - so makes for a pleasurable experience. Atmosphere: Now, I'm a people watcher, so it's ideal for me - situated in the centre of the walkways - you can watch the world go by. However, it's never too loud or busy to enjoy your meal. Only reason for a 4 star atmosphere is that a standalone restaurant would offer a better feeling of privacy and a step away from the hustle and bustle (I'm sure Yo! would do very well in its own store in the Oasis). Would recommend and will definitely return.

It's sushi so the portions are small. All freshly prepared and with good flavours. It is however expensive for what you get, more of a snacky or quick lunch place rather than somewhere for a full meal - unless you don't mind paying a large amount. It's in the middle of a shopping centre so the atmosphere is a bit meh. Paying is a pain, you order from an app and have to pay immediately, if you want more drinks or dishes or dessert you have to order and pay again - can lead to your card getting upset at the repeat transactions at the same place in a short space of time.

Crunchy prawn roll soggy, i have asked why it is described as crunchy and it s soggy and i have been told the prawns get fried in the morning so I need to know for the future that it will not be crunchy! Absolutely shocking. Rice just taste of seeds, it a nicer the one you can buy and microwave at the supermarket for 60 pence. You have to order by your phone nearly no service given but in the bill they slap you 7.5% service charge. Absolute joke i will never ever come back.
