Highly recommended, the transportation is convenient, the rooms are clean, and the service is in place. Suitable for family travel and business trips. There are not many types of breakfast but the taste is good. It is very convenient to eat in Chinatown opposite. There is a bus stop downstairs, which is very convenient to go anywhere.

A perfect stay in Manchester at the Clayton. Staff are fabulous, particularly Nikita who served us at breakfast. The best location for seeing everything Manchester has to offer.

Lovely stay so far! Room clean and comfortable- really easy check in experience from checking in online! Breakfast was lovely a great selection of stuff! Nikita was really kind and helpful as well making sure we had everything we needed!

Just stayed at hotel the last 2 nights. Had a fab time. Room upgraded when we booked in , on the house. Was my daughters first time in Manchester with us. Definitely be back. Hotel was lovely and great location

Nice staff always happy to help. Maybe simplify the online checkin or just go straight to staff at reception.

When we arrived we wore allowed check in earlier than planned we wore extremely grateful as we wore all tired. We wore accommodated by a lovely women called Karen from the restraunt who came up to us and introduced herself and then helped us with uber services. Lovely hotel and very kind and helpful staff

We came here from afternoon tea and we were shocked at how amazing and accommodating the staff were. We were served by Ayana and Miabh and honestly they were so welcoming, friendly and polite. One of our requests to change some of the sandwiches to non meat options and nothing was too much hassle for them. The place was immaculate. We will definitely be coming again ( I have already booked again ! ) thank you to you both in particular and Clayton hotel mcr city centre.

I regret to report that my stay in Room 509 was highly unsatisfactory due to multiple maintenance issues. The window mechanism was defective, failing to seal properly, which resulted in constant (loud) noise infiltration from the exterior (after midnight). Furthermore, the plumbing system exhibited serious problems, with the water pipes producing disruptive acoustics that significantly impacted the room's livability. The overall state of disrepair suggests a concerning lack of attention to basic infrastructure maintenance. Given these fundamental issues that compromise both comfort and functionality, I cannot recommend this establishment and will not be considering it for future accommodations. However the staff was very friendly during check-in. edit: thanks for the response - I ll be back next week and will update the feedback accordingly.

It was over a year since my last visit to this property and it was very special to be recognised by Karen on arrival. I had already received online attention for my booking from a lady called Alex. As a regular traveller this recognition always makes you feel special.

The hotel itself is stunning and feels very clean and new. The location is perfect and extremely central. I still gave a 5 star review but gave the service 1 star. I interacted with staff on a few occasions and they looked visibly annoyed that they had to answer my questions. Edit: thank you for the copy and paste answer where you have clearly shown that you have not bothered to read the full review. Disappointing but highlights how service is an issue.

Breakfast was excellent, and the service during breakfast was great as well. However, my experience with the reception staff was disappointing—they were extremely rude. My room was in terrible condition: the sheets were dirty, the bathroom was unclean, the heating didn’t work, and the sink had a leak. Unfortunately, it seems I was very unlucky with my stay.

3 minutes walk from St Peter’s square where you can link a tram to almost anywhere in the Manchester area. A nice clean modern looking hotel, lovely staff and good food too. Will use again 👍🏼

Great hotel. Ideally situated for Palace theatre and town shopping. Surrounded by car parks and not to far from railway station. Very quiet and comfortable. Breakfast had lots to offer and was really nicely presented.

About the service, Not good. My room was not cleaned for two days. Every day, call reception and no use. The safety box is disabled and contacted them three times, and there is no benefit

Chose the hotel because it said it had parking, which it doesn’t, but they give you directions to a very close public car park and how to get the best price. On arrival the desk staff were all busy with other people’s left luggage and we checked in via a kiosk. Worked well and one of the lovely desk staff approached and helped. Room turned out to be an adapted one on the 8th floor. It was bigger than average and nicely done. It wasn’t completely clean however, with sticky stuff on both bedside tables. Breakfast was nice. Checkout was smooth, but they promised to email a receipt, which hasn’t arrived. Overall a bit mixed.

Location is excellent. Wasn’t happy with my room and noise and made a complaint. Service desk not that helpful, breakfast good.

I recently stayed at the Clayton hotel and had a good experience. Karen and Kareem were helpful in arranging a free early check-in and an unexpected room upgrade, which made the process smoother. The room was clean and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. Overall, the service was solid, and I appreciated their assistance during my stay. Would consider returning.

When we arrived, we got a disabled people room which was very big so my friend was able to run(She’s in the picture)and we liked it but we didn’t want one bed. We wanted two beds so we moved room and they were very friendly and they gave us another room, but not the staff in the first day but the second day and the room was good but it was very hot and the AC is broken. It doesn’t work for the both rooms And the window also was broken but it’s fine and we like the service and the lobby is very pretty also the room service the pizza was good, but the soup wasn’t warm in general we will come back again because the location is amazing and it’s in the heart of the city.

This hotel is phenomenal, right bang in the city centre it was so easy for us to get around and do stuff in town. I really enjoyed my stay here !! The Breakfast staff were all very friendly , I would like to give Fiona a special mention. During breakfast today she was on her A game, seeing her go around to so many guests and making them smile was so nice to see. She had time for each and every one of us. The rooms were not as big as I thought they were but were still very clean !! Thank you clayton hotel staff for everything

I recently stayed here and the service is perfect! Fiona was very lovely at breakfast and attentive as were her friends. The hotel was very clean and all staff were welcoming and friendly. The location is perfect and I found the price to be cheap for such a great hotel in a great location! Thank you, I will be visiting again!

ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL! Went today for Afternoon with my wife, The service was very underwhelming. My wife’s a vegetarian but I’m not, the “food” came but all I had was 2 baby bite size chicken mayo sandwiches. Everything else was cheese. Including all of my wife’s “sandwiches.” Served to us on slithers of stale bread. I’ve had tastier food in a Tesco meal deal! After a half hour wait, we had to go to the bar to ask for our Prosecco. After attempting to eat the “sandwiches” we gave up and started on the desserts. Again after waiting for at least 15 minutes, we had to go back to the bar to ask for our tea. Tea arrived with 2 coffee cups & a paper cup of milk, which had some kind of black bits in there! The staff were idle, I’m absolutely shocked at the poor level of service. Such a shame because hotel itself looks very nice. It was a complete waste of money, the “food” wasn’t fit for human consumption. No stars here and I definitely won’t be returning!

Nice hotel. Good location. Should be amazing…..but some staff let the hotel down. Specifically, a middle-aged man working the breakfast shift. We were clearly inconveniencing him by being there and he definitely gave off a negative vibe. When I asked him for a takeaway cup for my coffee, he did so without speaking to me or making eye contact…. The only other comment relates to the buffet breakfast. The scrambled eggs were not good and the fried eggs were a mishmash of fresh eggs and rock hard eggs that had clearly been there since the start of breakfast service. As I said, it could be great, but it’s just missing in a couple of areas.

Fiona is a friendly and sincerely lady. She greeted us with a bright smile when we went for our breakfast. She is polite and has a smiley face throughout the time. Thank you Fiona.

I recently stayed at the Clayton Hotel In Manchester city center and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The moment I arrived, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and exceptional hospitality. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and I immediately felt welcomed. The room was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, offering a perfect balance of comfort and style. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated the little touch like the robes etc. The view from my window was stunning, adding an extra layer of relaxation to my stay. The hotel amenities were top-notch. The breakfast buffet was particularly impressive, offering a wide variety of delicious options to start the day right. The staff were absolutely lovely, all very pleasant. What truly stood out was the staff's dedication to making my stay memorable. They all went above and beyond to ensure every need was met, and their attention to detail did not go unnoticed. Fiona the waiting staff was very pleasant and welcoming. Her energy and smile definitely made my day. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway.

I stayed in the Clayton hotel for one night and had the best stay. All the staff were so kind but Fiona during the breakfast was so chatty and kind. She checked on me multiple times and made sure everything was all good, this didn’t go unnoticed. Reception team were also very kind. Will definitely have to stay again!

Bit of a mixed bag. The hotel aesthetics are pleasing. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was great. Good location next to Chinatown and near to facilities such as the train station and AO Arena. However, the noise in the evening from a local bar was unbearable. I appreciate if you're staying mid week you probably haven't encountered this hence all the great reviews. We stayed Friday to Sunday and it was impossible to sleep. The music played until 04:00 am on both Friday and Sunday. In fairness to the hotel there's not a lot they can do however if this was clearly forewarned we would have been prepared and considered other options. Frustrating as the rooms are advertised as soundproofed.

I went with my boyfriend for two nights and we had the best stay. All staff in the hotel are lovely. Fiona stood out the most to me and my partner as she was very hands on. She catered to us the whole night in the bar and let us know there’s always a place for us in her home in Ireland if we ever come to visit. Such a kind soul. The service in the hotel is the best part. We really enjoyed our stay as the hotel is right in the city centre. Will definitely be visiting again !!

Stayed in the hotel for two nights the rooms are very spacious and pleasant, we ate at the bar tonight and had a very pleasant and sweet waitress named Fiona we loved how enthusiastic she was. She was very kind to me and my partner. The biggest Personality, the hotels best asset in my opinion will definitely be coming back and hopefully fiona will be serving us again. The food was nice too !!

We went for a lovely sparkling afternoon tea at the No.55 restaurant inside the Clayton hotel. We very much enjoyed it, Nikita gave us excellent service, very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend ❤️

Very good hotel, extremely friendly staff Micheal and David in particular was very accommodating and very central location.

Visited here in January. we had a family room but only two of us. Room is quite small. The room was set at a 19C temperature and could not be changed, so the room was cold at night. The bathroom was compact but very clean. Staff were friendly, and breakfast had various items from yoghurts to full-on English, etc. Good enough for 2 nights only and near the city centre which was easily walkable to the shops and AO Arena.

Probably not an issue for everyone, but they have the worst tvs in the room. Can't get any channels, and flakey internet connection. If youre away with work and might need some evening entertainment this is probably amongst the most disappointing rooms in Manchester.

A very beautiful hotel, excellent location, close to the centre The room is very clean and equipped with everything. The only hotel I liked is that there are extra duvets in the closet, a hairdryer, and an ironing machine with the table. I took a double bed room of 23 square metres Only the breakfast buffet. I wish it had more Arabic food options But there is nothing wrong with croissants, pastries, cheese, eggs, and various drinks In addition, it is the only hotel that I booked through Booking and paid upon arrival and did not take a deposit If I returned to Manchester, I would never skip it There are distinguished language institutes next to it

First time staying at the Clayton. The rooms are fresh and clean, we booked well in advance so got two nights for a steal! Perfect location. All staff were friendly, particularly Karen - thank you, can’t wait for our next visit.

Nice place very close to the centre. Nice business meeting rooms. Food was ok, nothing great as a buffet, but a lovely reception area to work in.

Good location but lacks basic facilities Rooms are good size and capacious.. but only one chair to sit down along the coffee table, no tea bags in room just coffee.. bathroom dont have tooth paste or body lotions .. I guess the price is for location .. Overall it was good but can be improved 8/10

I stayed here for a Xmas girly night with my 3 friends. A beautiful hotel with exceptionally friendly staff. It was a super Easy check in and excellent communications from the team ensuring our rooms were close to each other! With amazing views too! On the 15th floor. Beautiful rooms, added extras with non alcoholic canned drinks and chocolate too in the fridge. We also had a Prosecco afternoon tea which was lovely too! Beautiful scones!! Our booking also included a 2 course evening meal. Which had its own menu to choose from. It was gorgeous!! A massive thank you to all the staff for making our stay so special the supervisor Karen, Fiona who was so helpful and also always had such a lovely smile on her face and the fabulously chatty Ruby who made us giggle and also ensured our meal was all perfect ! You’re all an absolute asset to the hotel. Also thankyou to the lovely friendly Irish Barman! They were all so attentive to all our needs during the stay! We will definitely be back! Thanks all.

Me and my mum went for afternoon tea at the Clayton and the staff were amazing Nikita was so lovely and welcoming. Me and my mum were actually booked for later on in the day but Nikita managed to let us have the afternoon tea earlier which was lovely of her. She was also super helpful and just overall amazing All the staff at the Clayton are lovely I would highly recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family

Breakfast was as always very good and the service is great. Nice, pleasant staff and quick to clear plates and tables. Nikita in particular was very attentive. Stayed here 3 times now and never been disappointed.

Such a lovely peaceful place for afternoon tea. The food was delicious and the young lady that looked after us, bringing our food and checking we were both okay with everything, was really lovely. So friendly and polite.

Air condition insists runing on 19c even if you set hot mode it automaticly change back to cold in the middle of night. Please ask for radiator during the checkin.

Perfect location in the center of Manchester, attentive staff. I had a slight problem with my room: a window that doesn't close well letting in cold and noise, but I think it remains exceptional

This is a lovely hotel, just an easy ten minute walk from the centre. Great facilities and room, especially for the price. The hotel check in/out machines made everything super quick, efficient and easy, and the hotel car park was lovely (just make sure you arrive early to get a space, as many people had just dumped their car in random places because there were no spaces left). The only complaint about our stay we had was that while in the shower, I realised the shower was overflowing and water was running out of the bathroom door. I lifted up the drain cover and the drain was completely blocked with hair and muck, and looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned out in years. As there was three of us needing a shower, we had to unclog it ourselves, which was not a pleasant experience. Apart from that, we had a lovely stay and would still definitely stay again. Thank you!

3 time in 1/2 was called and asked to vacate the room as it was 11:30, advised reception I had late check out. Communication shocking along with staff attitude. Left room to grab few souvenir came back locked out room, another reception mistake. Not somewhere I would go back

I am impressed with the Clayton from top to bottom. The bar area is fantastic, the layout isn't over crowded and there's plenty of plugs. The bar is well stocked too. The rooms are pretty basic but well done, like when you make a simple recipe but you then have the pressure of getting it perfect. The only downside is the seemingly centrally controlled central air system. It can only heat up and you can barely get any cool air to come out of it. I like to keep my room cool and if you're in a South facing room you bake unless you close the curtains. You may get some ambient noise coming from outside in the late evening due to its location but come on people, it's a city centre hotel bang smack in the middle of one of the largest night life hotspots in the city! It is totally bearable. At the core of this place though is the staff who are absolutely awesome each and every one of them. It's why I keep coming back.
