For an Indian takeaway or restaurant,, you'll usually order lamb. You'll want melt I'm mouth lamb (which can be done easily at home) You'll not get it here. I try this place every year. It's not great unless you want a vegi dish. Not anywhere near as good as it was when opened.... Very simple review. Needs to step it up,, just as the so called Italian place across the Rd also needs to!! Expensive food that doesn't match!! Might have a good kebab and cbip but definitely not authentic food. Starting to annoy me that people accept this as normal now just for something to eat. Sort it out Joe and be authentic... Must have to dine in for the proper experience and food quality

My partner and I regularly go here, weekly sometimes I tried most things on the menu, always delicious. Staff always attentive. Prices are really good (your would double nearer Belfast) even a better deal on Tuesday. Always 5* when we go.

Everything was just AMAZING!! The food was brilliant and the service was even better. I’ve never felt more comfortable with any waiters/waitresses than at Chutney Joes. They are such a nice family run business and will definitely come back for more.

It took 1 hour and 10 minutes to get our main course to our table. It was only the two of us but the other families who were in the restaurant before us were sitting with empty tables too waiting for their food and commenting on how hungry they were. The food was ok but the waitress service was lacking. I won't be rushing back.

This is a all round great place all good is great and lots of options I have to say the vegetarian kebab is so good.P.S that was from my parents I had the chicken goujons. They were so good and sweet , I definitely recommend them for kids. They are the best Indian in Ireland history. I would travel the world to go here you don’t understand how good the food is. My dog was begging me the whole time I gave her a piece and she ran around the whole house it is also very close to us so we would go quite a lot. If au were you I would check this place out. I am going to be honest in saying that the food was colourful and freshly prepared but it carried a flavour of HP sauce in the Saag also and Jalfazi so a bit disappointed. I'd give it a second chance if passing again. The portions were it has to be said generous and from that perspective very good!

Always come here. The prices are always discounted and the food is fresh and fab. The family owned restaurant is really worth a visit and the owner is a character. Usually busy. Highly recommend everything. Had poppadoms, peshwari nan and veggie curry.

Wow! Some months ago my brother and family visited Chutney Joes and they raved about the place. It has taken a while but myself and my family were there this evening and it was fantastic. The staff were so friendly and the portions were huge and then the taste. I really love Indian and I have travelled the world with work trying amongst other culinary delights, Indian and this place hit high on my list. The flavours of every dish we tried were so fragrant and tasty and moorish. We couldn’t just stop and ate until bursting. I will certainly be back and not only that but I took their takeaway menu with me and this will become our Indian takeaway from now on. The establishment is BYO and there is an off-licence 2 doors away. The decor is a little old but the place was spotless. The chef came out at the end as he had done with my brother to ensure everything was to our liking and we could only gush. 5 out of 5 Chutney Joe’s can’t wait to see you again soon.

Always really very good food. Sometimes the wait is a bit much though but that's the same with any good restaurant or take out. As a regular, I'd like to see some new dishes or menu changes to keep us keen.

Last week we dined in as a result of having enjoyed a carryout. Highly recommend.

I ordered 1 curry with 1 portion of rice and 1 naan bread, they said it would be 25 minutes. I came and paid for the food after 20 minutes of ordering it thinking it would be ready in about 5 minutes and I stood in the shop for another 20 minutes before I was given my order. Only 2 other people came in within that time to collect food

Kids goujons and kids nuggets..not great ..I think the oil needs changing a bit stodgy...they couldn't eat them ..limited kids choice ..no sausages .

Myself and my lady friend popped in on a Friday night about 8.15pm. There were a few tables occupied but they soon cleared and we were left on our own. We had poppadoms for starter. I love the relishes and sauces. My lady friend had vegetable biriyani and I ordered lamb dansak with peshwari nan. Unusually it took a long long time and the two young male waiters did not it come back at all. I got fed up waiting and had to shout to get attention and ask where was my food. Still took sometime and no explanation. Disappointing Both were fine but mildish Again the waiters disappeared and maybe gone home as I wanted to order a coffee with cream. Eventually I called the lady wife of owner and cook. She brought it in a large cup with cream and sugar in it . Bit rough and ready but nice The restaurant was quiet. No bill came and I went to counter to pay the owner and chef. There was a 20% discount and all came to only £23.00 for both of us. We chatted with the owner and his wife before we left. They are ultra friendly. So despite waiting problems I highly recommend it again.

Topped off with black coffee and cream. Although they dont serve alcohol they are more than happy for you to bring your own bottle. To encourage more customers to use the resaurant after covid etc they are currently offering a massive 25% off your meal. Absolute bargain, will retun next week for sure.

Heard good reports about this Indian Restaurant so we decided to give it a try. We where greeted by a polite young lady who showed me and my friend to the table. Started with poppadoms and a onion chutney dip followed by a chicken tikka starter which was lovely, for our main course I had a delicious chicken rogan josh and pilau rice. One word though, the establishment isn’t licensed but they encourage you to bring your own if you enjoy a glass of wine with you meal (I will remember this on my next visit). A very enjoyable evening, superb food, pleasant surroundings. Excellent 5 stars😊.

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!! If you have friends or family over you have to try this hidden gem in saintfield, all of their food is cooked fresh, their service is amazing and overall a perfect experience, it is usually quite busy yet the service the waiters supply is the best I’ve ever had, I had a chicken Shazlek bhuna and I must say it was as amazing as it could be, it sparked my taste buds and I was glad to see that the portions were big enough to bring some home, I enjoyed the food the next day and it tasted as good as the night before. Both me and my family would recommend this to anyone, it made my week especially when the chef himself came out to greet everyone separately, it is an amazing place. I WOULD RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!

When this place 1st opened it was lovely. Sadly now it is disgusting. I have given this place the benefit of the doubt on 3 occasion in the hope it would be good again and sadly it has not. I stopped ordering Indian and went for the Kebab instead thinking surely you can’t go wrong with that. The kebab was like eating leather and rubber, it was inedible , so too was the rest of the order. Even the popadoms where soft. I rang to complain and asked for the owner or manager but the girl who answered would not put them on and decided to deal with it herself. I explained how bad everything was and how this is the 3rd time of giving it another chance and she told me to go somewhere else that no one ever complains that I was the only person ever to have a bad meal. She was rude and ignorant. Avoid this restaurant at all costs. Save your money and go that bit further for a nice genuine Indian restaurant.

We live nearby so visit regularly. Always fantastic food with lots of options always quality ingredients. I have always found the staff to be friendly and look gorward to chatting to them. Take away, sit it, delivery options used regularly. We wouldn't get Indian food from anywhere else.

I live in Saintfield and get a carryout from here a couple of times a week. I'm vegan and there are lots of options to choose from. My partner isn't vegan and he loves the food too, there is something for everyone! The food is freshly made and they add in little extras for you sometimes. It doesn't taste like carryout food, more like something home made. Would highly recommend. Kim McCreery

Brilliant wee place I love it!!

Wednesday night is half price for sit in food. So I visited again. 3 popadoms and dips for starter are brilliant. Tandoori king prawn masala with a peshwari nan is so yummy. Finished off with black coffee with cream. And the young male waiter was so attentive and forgot nothing. Full marks all round.

Just wow! Passing through Saintfield last night, called into this wee gem of a place ordered rhe £25.95 meal for 2, changed the rogan josh to a chicken tikka madras extra hot with loads of garlic! Chef was setting up a microphone, thought I was getting a song but it never happened lol, anyway the very friendly staff took my order and give my son a lollipop, we waited a very short time and the chef delivered my food, really heavy bag packed to the brim we went home and dished the food out the smell was unbelievable and the food even better! I've been eating Indian food for 25+ years, tried 1000s of restaurants home and abroad and this place has to be way up with the best of them the flavours and aroma are great , tender tikka melts in your mouth everything was cooked to perfection, will definitely be back soon

Went out of my way to visit tonight. About 6.30pm place was quiet but later filled up as expected for a Saturday night. I started with two popadoms as I like the dips with them. I ordered King prawn tandoori masala prawns main,with peshwari (coconut filled) nan. It came quickly and was a deep red bowl of goodness. The ex large king prawns in their shells were succulent and easy to eat. The young girl staff member set me down a portion of (3) vegetable pakoras on the house(free). The other teenage boy waiter was very attentive and carried out his duties smoothly and efficiently. I finished with a black coffee with cream,which I did have to explain that they did have it and used some on my masala. He duly brought it. So a pleasant meal. Left full up. Impressed by the two new to me,staff members. And off course the daughter of the owner who is also pleasant. Price of around £18.50 for what turned out a 4 coarse meal is excellent value. I fully recommend and will return.

We ordered the meal for 2 people as a take away. We ordered over the phone and the meal was ready at the correct time to collect. We have no complaints at all. It was just fabulous in every way. The flavours were amazing and there was lots of meat and was just a really enjoyable meal. We are ordering the same plus a few extra dishes for friends and family this weekend. Very good value indeed. Tip… If you are looking for a take away…ring at least an hour or even an hour and a half before you actually want to eat!! …especially at the weekend. They are always very busy. Everything is made fresh and that is very important. So happy I found this place :)

Went in to have a nice meal and was asked by two kids if we had the vaccine as blunt as that! The place was empty bar one couple! Any wonder! They said we could sit and wait for a takeaway but not sit and have a meal! Makes perfect sense! Not! Walked out again and took my business elsewhere and had a lovely meal with no medical discrimination at another business in the town! I have lived in Saintfield for 11 years and used this business a lot but I will never give them my business ever again! Businesses need to realise they can't keep turning away paying customers! I will never be back here and certainly won't recommend it either! AVOID!

Just had the most beautiful carry out for Christmas Eve treat …. I’ve been before and I feel this place gets better. Absolutely beautiful meal. Highly recommend Chutney Joe’s for a stupendous bit of food!

Arrived just after 6pm. Shown to table and asked if we would like some poppadoms to which we agreed. Some time after we had finished poppadoms we were asked about ordering main course and starters, we choose tapas. Some considerable time lapsed before they arrived, some nearly cold but tasty. Upon finishing tapas we waited and waited for main courses but eventually at approximately 7.20pm we went to the desk and enquired when we could expect service. We were informed that the kitchen was very busy with carry outs and they hoped to serve our meal sometime over the next 10mns. By this time we had been there for approximately 1 and half hours!! We decided to takeway as we were fed up waiting.when we got home the food was very disappointing and mostly binned. Also the restaurant was very cold. I should just add that there were only two customers eating there at this time. Could not recommend this place. VK.

What a lovely surprise! The food was so tasty, the staff were just lovely and they currently have 20% off if you sit in. You don't feel rushed and the chef came out after the meal to see how we enjoyed our food. The portions are very generous, we took a lot home, but if you have a big appetite you'd be in heaven. The best cinnamon chili fish I've ever had in my life, got some goujons and chips to round out the order and they were perfectly done and absolutely delicious. Will be back again for sure.

I often have to stop myself from eating the rice off the plate before I put the mains beside it - it is literally that flavoursome and aromatic that I start eating it immediately. The ingredients are always fresh and this translates into possibly the best Indian cuisine in the area. If you have never tried this place, then you absolutely must do so. The quality of the food is exceptionally high and the friendliness of the people who run it, really is the absolute icing on the cake. Thank you all for consistently providing the very best experience every time.

We long avoided visiting here, put off by the clunky name as we thought the food would be the same. Not so. We've been back a few times now and every time the food is really excellent. There are dishes you don't see on menus...

My husband and I ordered a meal here about a month ago. I can honestly say it was one of the worst lamb madras I've ever had in my life. The quantity of the food was just to much we received orders we didn't ask for. Quality over quantity.

We had an evening at Chutney Joe's whilst visiting friends. There wasn't anything to complain about. There was 9 of us and we all had starters and mains. Everything was fresh and hot and there was plenty to eat. We took our own drinks and a birthday cake for pudding.The owner is a lovely character and you must get him to sing you a song.If we're back in this area again we will definitely be eating here again.
