FANTASTIC VALUE FOR MONEY. I ordered a large sausage and I got an unusually large WHOPPER. Seriously this thing was humongous I don't know how it fit in my car never mind the box!

Called fish bar up 6.10 for two fish and small chips can coke waiting and waiting so call back at 7.22 told me very busy we thought fair enough anyway delivered to us at 7.45 we would have not done feedback but there was a big problem with the order ONE fish small chips and can coke we want be order here again so quick what get us we told them twice on the phone

The food is always FRESH, The batter is always crisp which I love. Everything is always 10/10 including the packaging, you can really tell it’s a well loved business, if you order I HIGHLY recommend the Hallumi sticks, they are honestly unreal, 3rd time ordering and never been disappointed. Yes it’s more pricey than the usual chip shop, but it’s not “any chip shop” it’s honestly the best!

Stuffing patty man here (I've been called worse haha) Finally got to try the stuffing party and I love it! Will definitely have this again!

Ordered via the app had to ring the shop after an hour to be told it would be on the be next delivery run which meant I had too cook my daughter something else as it had gone past her bed time she was gutted as it was her choice for food that night and wanted chippy I could forgive a one off but the same has happened the last 3 times we've Ordered so sadly this will be our last

Food is always amazing and the staff are great only thing that let's them down is the delivery option both times we've tried it it's been an issue fully recommended this place just go pick it up ! Thought I'd give them another go been over an hour for delivery phone the shop to be told it will be after the ne t delivery 🤷‍♂️ really give up

Absolutely banging chips, love the fact they add tons of salt and vinegar 🤤 they do a cone of chips wrapped up!

First time of trying here as not long moved to the area and WOW the food was fantastic, a large chips was enough to feed four people, and the small fish was was cooked perfectly and an ideal portion. Also had a curry sauce which was delicious. Some sauces are watery, really thick or just taste spicy. This was a perfect accompaniment to the meal, will definitely return. Staff were friendly and staff and store were covid compliant. 10 out of 10

Nice food but I got over charged by about £12 I did question the bill but told it was correct although I knew it definitely wasnt.

Food is at very high standard, mostly have food delivered but last week my daughter popped into chip shop, she said staff are so helpful & friendly nothing was 2 much for them, wont go anywhere else now

All the food is to a very high standard and they still manage to keep one eye on the environment by using cardboard boxes and paper cups rather than polystyrene. For me this is the best chippy in the area and probably top 5 in Wales for the food

Lovely chips and the fish is excellent. Portions are good and my misuses loved the kebab. Very clean.

Truly a first class experience.

We have been ordering on a Friday for 4 adults for quite a few Months. We have a Delivery order, they are very polite when i phone my order through, asking if there is any thing else we would like with our food. The Delivery is only a few minutes late or a few minutes early, delivery persons are always very polite and clean in their appearance masked up and always pleasant. Well done to the fish bar keep up the great work.

Fish, chips mushy peas and Tartar sauce, absolutely lovely and delivered in the time slot given over the phone, great shop great service.

Took over 3 hours to arrive cold and missing items. The turkey, Stuffing, chips and gravy is about 15 chips, a small amount of turkey and cheap Stuffing. One even turned up without gravy. Avoid if you are hungry because you won't get it on time

I telephoned the day before to find out their opening hours as I was travelling from the Midlands to visit my dad. The lovely lady who answered offered for me to ring when we were near and the order would be ready Very helpful.I arrived early so went to dad's first and then back to the fish shop......all freshly cooked, the place looked spotless and the lady very helpful in understanding what I needed. The batter was out of this world!! Light, crispy and golden...the cod thick and tasty. 5* and highly recommended.

We were ordering from this chippy every week throughout lockdown. However they have now put their prices up by a third so we cannot afford it anymore. When I asked the reason was told because of the covid. Yet all the other chippys have stayed the same price? Shame on u church street!

Friendly staff and quick service, and handy to home. Lovely fish, but the chips would benefit from a bit longer in the fryer. Next time we'll ask to have them double cooked. Would LOVE them to provide gluten free fish batter. X

Coming up to 8 weeks in lockdown and this is the first takeaway that I’ve had and have to say I’m very disappointed I tried this place when it first opened and it was good but the last meal I had from hear was about three months ago and it was quite average but I thought I’d give it another try but we’ve decided that’s the last:-(

Great chippy in the heart of Abertillery. All the fish is cooked freshly to order and the chips are great. They have a notice up showing the boat 'todays' catch has come from and which variety of potato they use. Portions are generous. Staff are friendly and welcoming. They now offer delivery as well. Since moving to the area last year this has become my favourite chippy.

The chips are absolutely amazing, portion sizes are good. Fish is always cooked fresh, Irish curry is lush. I wouldn’t go to any other chip shop in Abertillery.

Ist time visiting Church st fish bar, great experience with really friendly staff, exceptionally clean premises with great food that was cooked to perfection, I will without doubt use Chuurch street fish bar again.

I just ordered from your shop for delivery tonight, it came quick. Food was hot. Chips melt in your mouth with a crispy coating. Homemade Chicken curry was BEAUTIFUL!! The services is always top notch Thankyou again for the amazing service Love church’s streets top fan ❤😂😂

The service was terrible. Phoned up and there was this man on the phone didn’t have a clue and kept hanging up. Then came the delivery which in total took 4 hours to come. Phoned them up three times and on the last time the man told me to stick it and put the phone down. When I got my delivery the food was cold and I was missing 2 items off my order. I would not recommend them.

I ordered large fish and small chips which cost £9.45waighted an hour and it was stone cold never again and we don't live far

Came to see my sister in Nantyglo. I ordered from other chippys/kebabs in the area was terrible. This chippy however absolutely fantastic :) best thing I've eaten all week can't wait to order again when I'm next up :)

Order food for pick up ask as well for large chips and fish separated as my daughter hates it together and they gave me it in a fish box with a small chips and the fish on top and with no salt and vinegar as asked for and food was cold so had to warm up in a microwave something i never done before and never been giving my food wrong during earlier shifts. Waste of money as my child bow don't want her food

I have had the joy of having multiple types of food from this establishment, and all I can say is, it is brilliant. First of the delivery was quick and efficient. The staff on the phone was very polite and well-spoken. The food itself was delicious and piping hot when it arrived, and the order was all correct, so no complaints there. I also ordered chip roll, cheese and curry, the chips were ok, but I did find them a little bit bland and dry. The chip roll was not a roll but a burger bun, but the curry was beautiful. The fish was brilliant, it tasted fantastic and was not overcooked. The only thing I will say on the fish is that I wish it were more firm and rigid. The fish was floppy and could not hold its form, but that is just a personal touch and apart from that no complaints. I do recommend this place as it has brilliant food and fast delivery.

Was looking forward to this all day after seeing picture on the right. Drove completely out of my way to come and get food here to get home to pic on the left :( Hardly any chips and hardly any curry with about 3 tiny pieces of chicken. There were more chips on the £1.60 small chips my kids had! Wouldn't of bothered me so much as food did taste nice and kids enjoyed their sausage and chips, but then checked prices and realised I payed £4.60 for this 😮 Was disappointed after reading all the good reviews.

Never had better food from home or abroad. Wish my wife could cook this good, kebab is amazing. Plus, they pack your order like I'd pack a million pound.

Best chippy in the area. Can be a tad pricy. But you get what you pay for. Some days pizza. Some days kebabs. Pot luck on that one. Great choice of off the shelf condiments to buy also fresh and make your own sauces. Lovely friendly staff. Alrhough expect a longer wait. If you wear jesus creepers or don't buy iron brew. The gingers get weird over that. Winner of many splendid awards. Including winner of the golden fried fingers award and juicy crispy bits monthly magazine. All fish is fresh local caught from the ice blue waters of Barry baydos. The fresh sausages you can hear squealing out the back. Diabetic slush puppies are nice with a delicious choice of chips. With salt and or vinegar.

Been here before many times with no problems. However this time very disappointed. My wife asked for a Large cod, a tiny size for the price (£4.60), batter was pale, soft and soggy, not golden and crispy as usual. A large chips, cheese and gravy for myself. Gravy was completely Stone cold, having the effect of making the entire meal barely warm by the time we got back home (a 5 minute walk). A shame because we have had so many good meals from here.

I am the delivery driver for churchstreet fishbar. On many occasions I have eaten from there and my favourite food is large sausage in batter and I highly recommend the haddock it's beautifully cooked to order.

Called in on a sat afternoon around 6 not much left to order as all the food available we were told were for orders. Had large chips which are put in a box then wrapped in paper ??? I know portion control is important but can't they use a box to measure the portion then just wrap in good old fashioned paper. The boxes make food sweat and taste horrible not to mention they are non recyclable. Our chips and sausages were wrapped then we had to wait a few mins for our Irish curry which I presume was being warmed up in a microwave as it was stone cold when we got home as was our food being left on the counter with the door open on a cold evening . Won't be returning shame as this place used to be amazing .

Close to a 5 star review, staff were great and even the other customers were friendly, chips spot on, curry sauce excellent, fish batter perfect but fish a touch over done.

Had scampi an chips and I must say it was a great improvement on the last meal I had from there. Chips were fresh and crispy and scampi was moist and hot. Good combination

Called in last night quite late, but the lady still offered to do a large fish an chips if I didnt mind waiting. When I got it home I was very disapointed to find that the large fish had disintegrated! The paper had been wrapped around the meal so tight everything was squashed together. I intended sharing the fish so I took the piece of fish that was whole, ( all 4" of it )expecting to find more amongst the chips, but there was none! At £8 + a portion I would expect better. Why wasnt this put in a box and not wrapped tight and what happened to the 'large' fish? I have had takeaway from here before and its always been ok but from now on I will go elsewhere!

Top quality chip shop. Environmentally sound packaging. Really good food. Not CHEAP but not expensive either. Well worth checking out of you're in the area, or passing through.

Never had a bad meal from Church St. Chips are always perfect, and quite possibly the best, and most consistently cooked fish in town. Other places have been hit and miss, but not Church St... AND now I see they're going to be doing battered pigs in blankets! Wow! Can't wait to try those.

Waited 30 mins for a cone of chips . A joke. Good chips but not worth the wait . There seems to be no queuing system and the staff ignored me when someone pushed in front . Not good .

Have always been to Five Star fish shop BUT have been to Church Street a few times now & the food has always been nice, no grease & friendly Staff

I have had takeaway from here a few times and even after the drive the food is still hot. The chips are nice and crispy and not soggy like other places and service is always fast and friendly.

Absolutely fabulous chippy. The food is amazing! The girls are friendly and the shop itself is stunning. Clean white and most importantly has a 5 on scores on the doors. It's about time we had a chippy like this in Abertillery. Definately my takeaway of choice. Would thoroughly recommend the homemade chicken curry .
