Chiquito - Gateshead - Metro Centre in Gateshead

Great visit We often dine here when on the area. On arrival the server Suze came over with a welcoming smile and great attitude. Told us all about the menu and recommended varies dishes which was a real help. Another great experience and would highly recommend.

Had lunch at Chiquito’s today, 23rd May 2024 - the food was terrific and we really enjoyed it. What made it even better was Ella, a member of the waiting staff, who looked after us . She provided us with amazing service - she was welcoming, attentive, knowledgable about the menu, and very efficient, and it was all done with a smile. Ella is a fantastic member of the staff at the restaurant and a great representative of Chiquito’s, she does a great job. WELL DONE Ella.

Restaurant is very nice but the portion sizes are well below par for what you pay for example when you pay 17 pound for fajitas you expect at least a full chicken breast not 4 measly sized bits of chicken

Called on the off chance we’d get a table for lunch, no problem, restaurant quiet for a change. Lovely waitress took our drinks and food orders, we used Tastecard. Starters and main meals superb, very tasty and plentiful. Very enjoyable meal. Only slight downside was the ladies toilet, there must have been a flood because the floor was very wet. Told member of staff.

Every time we come to this Chiquito we experience excellent service and delicious food. We love the place and wish we lived closer, but whenever we’re at the Metro Centre it’s 100% our first choice.

Hadn't been to chiquitos for a while but they have just 🌟 taking the Taste card again, so excellent value. ( 2 for 1 on all courses) The food was excellent. I had the steak and prawns . Perfectly presented and cooked. Going back next week to have it again! The service was absolutely great. Eric, our server was lovely. Just enough banter and friendliness, and very, but not overly, attentive. Restaurant was extremely clean and well presented. Well worth a visit.

Walk in table for 5, seated after a short wait. Service quick and friendly. Drinks order taken & delivered within 5 minutes, including 2 cocktails. Food orders arrived 10 minutes later. All meals were very good, tasty and well presented. Loved the atmosphere in this restaurant.

I'd never been in Chiquito before, but I'm really glad I went in tonight. The decor and atmosphere was very nice, the food was great (I had the steak fajitas) and Racheal who served me was the epitome of friendly, helpful, attentive professionalism. People like her are a great asset to any organisation. I'll be back as soon as I can.

Haven’t visited this restaurant in man years, decided to pop in with some out of town friends, the service was quick and the food was tasty but my only concern was the lack of portion, paid £13.50 for a burrito and about 6 tortilla chips, for the portion I got I would say was easily overcharged by £4, small complaint but feel it’s worth mentioning, nevertheless, atmosphere and servers made the evening a little better, very polite staff

The service in this restaurant is shocking! Complained about the waitress telling me 2 minutes when I said excuse me” She then walked past me again to ask another waitress to speak to me. I told the waitress what had just happened and that I was disgusted. She said the Manager had been informed but she didn’t even come over to see me. Food was not worth the money and I will never go back here. They spend more time chatting with each other over seeing to the guests.

Yo so we head on down to Chiqz & the starters were lame as hell they were so small and not extra D licious, £8 each for 3 TINY unfilled dry tacos. 😫 the server was hella slow cos it’s just mainly teenagers who work there , and it was a Saturday night but the place was legit half empty ! I came up from manchester to visit family and they took me to chiquitos in the metro centre. I work in hospitality myself but i was blown away by the service i received from hayley she was very attentive knew that i had an allergy she went above and beyond to make sure i was provided a meal that was safe to eat. I will definitely go back to my job and take some of hayleys approach with me.

Dropped in for lunch, my first time at Chiquito. Food and drink was really nice, generous portions, lovely and fresh, and great value. Staff were all great. In particular our waitress Hailey was really sweet and couldn't do enough for us. Service was quick too and the place was spotless. Highly recommended and will definitely go again.

Horrendous service! Waited in the queue for 15 minutes getting blank stares off the staff… when finally seated didnt get served drinks for atleast 10 more minutes then food was another half an hour… wasnt even busy either so theres no excuse! This was my second visit and first time was the exact same, wont be visiting again!

Absolutely delicious food today , both myself and my partner were so happy. Our server Hayley was so friendly and helpful, she had a vast knowledge of all ingredients in the food and helped us with everything we needed. I love coming here, especially the service we were given thanks Hayley, we will be back.

I visited for lunch today. It was quiet probably 5 tables, we ordered Nachos. They arrived and were cold. The cheese was not even melted. We sent them back to the kitchen and got another. Which was better. My main was belly pork. When it arrived the rice was cold, I cold place my hand on the black hot plate in the rice. It was cold. I sent it back and didn’t ask for a replacement. My husband had ribs and chips they were fine. The issue got worse with the manager who came over and told me the Nachos should be served cold. She also argued the belly pork was 80 degrees Celsius. I informed her as an EHO it was definitely not at temperature. She was very rude, I would avoid.

Booked here for our staff party .Our server was Sooz Perry .. greeted with a big smile and considering it was very busy nothing was a problem… Drinks arrived promptly and well needed after shopping.. Food was delicious and pipping hot very well presented. Can not fault the service and food here … checked back on our table before going off on her break..!!! Well done Team . Friendly welcome and my server was lovely, however not impressed with the paella - the meat was very dry. When we told the server she went to the manager, who proceeded to tell us that is how they cook it. The important thing is that the customer did not enjoy it and it was like we were spoken down too. I had to pay for food that my other half couldn't finish, we won't be going back!
