We visited as a group of 7 for a birthday celebration, as were arrived early for lunch we were quickly shown to our table and drinks orders taken. Part of the group arrived a bit later and by this time the restaurant was getting busy - The lady was trying her best, but they were woefully understaffed for a Saturday lunchtime.Drinks were particularly slow arriving, but the food wasn't exactly speedy either.The starters were very nice (I can recommend the Chorizo & Sweet Potato Croquettes, the Banana Blossom Croquettes were nice, but probably not worth the cost (£7) and I wouldn't go for them again).After such good starters the mains were a bit disappointing - I went for the BBQ chicken melt. It was nice, but it wasn't amazing. There are a LOT of possible combinations of food so anyone could find a meal to suit their preferences.I would visit again, but I hope the short staffing was a one-off situation during our visit and not a normal occurrence.

First time at Chiquito and I couldn’t think of a better place to eat! Food exceptional, service amazing! The staff incredible especially Cassandra! She was hilarious and made us laugh! Overall a very enjoyable experience!! Thank you!!!

Great tapas and soft drinks... recommend the mango ginger beer which has a little kick to it and is presented so well . Very much enjoy perusing the varied colourful and easy to view menu they offer here and especially love the Meerkat 241 Sun-Thursday offer they do which makes if super affordable to swing by with my bestie for cheeky fajitas and we share a chichen and pulled pork and a sizzling steak between us to mix it up. I couldn't squeeze in a desert but they do my favourite mint choc chip ice cream here so will try to test it next time round. If you ask you can have extra flour tortillas to ensure you mop up and eat all your fajita meat and peppers. The service can be a bit slow so make sure you leave time to enjoy your meal if you're planning on seeing a film afterwards

Incredibly slow service for lukewarm, unappetising food. Had three different servers and they refused to honour the voucher we had for a £5 margarita - really bad customer service for the sake of £1.49! Have eaten in Chiquito Leicester Square frequently with great service and good food for the price. WillNever eat at this restaurant again - just terrible!

We entered and were cheerfully greeted we sat , the vegan selection is fabulous, and I looked around the regular dishes looked and smelt delicious , our vegan dishes were great light and fresh ,Great atmosphere with sumbrero's if you want one fantastic in the summer not so good in February.Toilets both the ladies and the gents were very clean.

We went in late and they were just about to stop serving food , but they went and asked the kitchen. We had a lovely sharing platter. Zelal served us very friendly and very professional and what wonderful nails. The service and food was amazing thank you for making our evening a delight , we wouldnt hesitate going back again, and would definitely recommend.

Arrived for meal at 19.00. Place quiet but got busy but our order was late being taken and did not get food until over an hour wait.Very abrupt Male waiter plonked an ordered bottle of wine on table. Party asked for ice bucket.Kitchen staff seemed preoccupied with take outs going.Negotiated after much hassle a good discount instead of free desserts which was offered but not wanted.Female waitress should be praised for handling situation not of her making with long fingernails however.Food when it came was lovely as usual as am regular.

We went here this week, had the fried chicken, pulled pork - with fries and onion rings! The portion of chips wasn’t even a handful, 3 onion rings and the chicken was soggy! And it was nearly £16 a plate! An utter joke, The worse meal I’ve had in ages! An overpriced poor quality KFC.I voiced all of the above politely to the waitress, who just stared at us and after an awkward silence said ‘I’ll pass your comments on to the manager’ who from what I could make out wasn’t even in the restaurant!Whatever you do don’t waste your money here!!!!

Nothing special and a bit too expensive for it is. My boy had tacos which came stacked up on a steel stand with mo side or garnish so quite plain. I Got a jambalaya to share which we found very expensive and not much there to be honest. We felt like we needed to order more food in the end and the price was quite steep for the type of food and restaurant it is. Can't recommend really unless you are passing by on your way to the cinema and fancy a quick bite. And even then you might be disappointed as we had to wait almost an hour to get our food!

Me and my wife had a fantastic lunch today. I highly recommend Chiquito because the food was delicious and our waitress Kasia was brilliant! She was very kind and explained with passion all about the food we have asked plus gave us professional service. She made our day! We had a chicken enchilada and burrito. It looked very appetising and tasted great. Thank you Chiquito we definitely are coming back for more food experience because you doing a good job!

My husband and I went to the Chiquitos last night.From the moment we walked in to the restaurant we felt very welcome. Staff was very friendly.Especially Sergiej, which turned he was a restaurant manager.He served us for all evening.The food was lovely and Sergiej was absolutely amazing with us.He has a fantastic customers skills, good sense of humour and lovely manners.We had a great night last night and we definitely will be back there.Would highly recommend to everyone.Thanks for being so great.

News year's trip to the cinema. So popped across the hall on the way out. We were seated quickly and drinks arrived shortly after that. We eat quite a lot of tex mex at home so it could have gone either way but we were all really happy with our meals. Fajitas were super tasty, ribs great, portions were spot on. Staff were really friendly. Good value for a meal out. Definitely be back

We had the enchiladas here and they were absolutely flavourless. I had the chicken and my partner had pulled pork but they were filled more with rice than anything else,to fill it out ,there wasn't any sauce inside just a blob on the outside making it quite dry, each end of the wrap was like eating a crisp. Very disappointed and expensive for what you're presented with.

It's been a while since we went to a Chiquito restaurant but this was very good.Good food and good service.Really enjoyable

Visited here on a Thursday night last week whilst staying in Bournemouth. Got a table at 6pm. Ordered a sharing platter which came out quickly. Then it went wrong. Our mains took over an hour to come out. I have no idea what the chefs were doing. Other tables came in, ordered and ate in the time we waited. The waiter was clearly embarassed and kept saying it wouldnt be long. The mains finally arrived at 7:30pm. Whilst i appreciate it was busy when we arrived by 7pm it had emptied out. We did pluck up courage for a dessert which was quicker. Finally got out at 9pm some three hours later. We were having a mini break and did not want to be stuck in a restaurant all evening. We had one coke which was on the house. Shame because the food is lovely.We had not eaten since breakfast so had gone past being hungry and i was on the verge of cancelling the order and leaving.

Good meal, service was a bit slow and they weren't overly busy, but the food was enjoyable. The restaurant was pretty chilly so make sure you layer up

Although this is part of a restaurant chain it does have "non chain" feel about it. The food available is varied, there's plenty of seating and the staff are very friendly. The food was very tasty and I'd be happy to visit again. The restaurant is in the town centre so parking is available in the nearby car parks.

Visited during half term, so was slightly more busy! However we booked in advance and got our table straight away. Drinks were very good quality and not watered down. Food was lush! Super fresh and full of flavour! Best part were the hats of course. Made if fun and authentic! Definitely a new fan of the restaurant chain!

Went yesterday for my after my sons graduation. Wow usually whenever I go to a meal in one of their restaurants elsewhere it is always lovely. Bournemouth experience of this restaurant was totally dire. I had a chilli. It came out so dry the top of it was dried to a crisp. I sent it back and another came out not much better. No will never be returning to this one. Excuses were made. Also another customer was sat at a table and he was not happy either. He actually got up and walked out. We should have done the same. My advice - don’t go!

For me, Chiquito is yet another large restaurant chain that throws money at their interiors, creating nice dining environments while neglecting what should really matter, the kitchen. The decor is fun and inviting and the menus attractive, and I'm pleased to say that the waiting staff at this branch were attentive, friendly and pleasant. Unfortunately the food that was presented failed to hit the mark. My quesadilla starter involved two overly filled and soggy bite sized slices stacked on each other in a bowl not much bigger than the slices. Needless to say it wasn't possible to pick up the slices, and the stack disintegrated into itself when negotiated them with a knife and fork in the tight space provided. My mocktail of lime and raspberry turned out to have been drowned in syrup or sugar and the sweetness overpowered any hint of either lime or raspberry; I'd had enough after a few sips. Fries that were served with my main course of Enchiladas shouldn't have been allowed to leave the kitchen at all, and where hard, tough and interestingly chewy on the outside while mushy and liquid-like in the centre. One wonders what was done to them to get them just like that. On pointing them out to the waiter they were immediately and gratefully exchanged for a freshly made plate. It is great that affordable meals can be made available in pleasant surroundings, however only once the same care and attention is given to the preparation of food as to the design of a restaurants interiors will customers really have an experience worth remembering.

Average on every level. Also over priced for the mediocrity served up here. Nothing special at all. Empty restaurant, service ok, food disappointing, setting good.

on beginning need waiting moment to be seat down. but later was only better. very nice and friendly staff. i seen they was so busy but they manage all visitors/tasters. Food was so quick delivered to our table and we wasnt waiting long to next dish. Even taste was so great. Not to spice so everyone can find perfect dish for it self. many thanks for staff for that great experience. I am sure we came back on this place. Lovely Food.

Me and my wife had an amazing dinner here after purchasing a great value voucher on Groupon. When we went in we were greeted by a very welcoming and knowledgeable waitress named Cassandra. As we had no idea of what to eat she took us through the menu and recommended some amazing starters and then mains. The food was fantastic 10/10 and the way we were made to feel welcome and treated by Cassandra and the team was very impressive. In our stay in Bournemouth we have been to a few restaurants and met some great people but the way we were made to feel welcome and how picking our meal and deserts went in Chiquito BH1 was just amazing. Thank you for leaving us wowwweeddd!

We went here after a movie we wish we didn't. Rude staff to start with then we waited a long time for our starters witch came out cold. Enchiladas were cold as well. Overpriced

We were there last night, we were three, we ordered some Mojitos, they were super bad, just water, lime, no alcohol or sugar, I don't understand what they can call that Mojitos and have the shame of charging almost £ 7 for each one, the nachos of Very few starters around 10 and of poor quality, then we ordered a fajita to share, the meat very bad, it looked like hamburger from how battered it was. We will never return. not recommendable

It's a nice place to spend with your family. Kids menu is really good and the children's food are well prepared also got great quality comparing with other restaurants. There is an amazing deal on Mondays where you can get a Fajita plate for 5 pounds really bargain. I was served by Kesia most of the times.

Me and my friend came here Wednesday evening around 5 oclock the waitress satis down she was very friendly asked us if you would like anything to drink vegan she gave us the Vegan menu which looks really appetising we ended up having nachos and and vegan tacos which were all very nice the only thing that was a little bit annoying was they had no vegan sour cream but overall very nice

As a very regular Chiquito costumer I can comfortably say I am never disappointed in the standard of food or service. The food is delicious and reasonably priced and the staff are amazingly friendly!! Craig was our waiter today and helped us immensely with some problems we had with a discount voucher. We’ll undoubtedly be back again very soon!

Originally went for breakfast due to 2 for £10 deal we had, but ended up having lunch instead due to lack of breakfast stock. However this problem was swiftly handled by our waiter, Craig. He was solution oriented and very attentive. He also had great customer service skills by contributing to conversation as opposed to doing the bare minimum of bringing your food out, checking in once more and then never being seen again. Even though I was disappointed about not getting what I originally came for, I still had an enjoyable experience and a tasty meal.

Waited 2 hours and still counting for a delivery, no answer on the phone or any service. Don't waist your time..

Worst fajita I have ever had! Bland and boring Rubbish meal!!!! The staff are lovely and really helpful but the food is awful. Really disappointing

I visited for lunch with my daughter. Staff were lovely, couldn’t fault. The food on the other hand wasn’t great. My daughter enjoyed hers but it didn’t come with any veg. It was just chips and fried chicken. My burrito and 4 tortilla chips on the side was not pleasant. Tasteless and portions too small for the price. Then my daughter had pudding, so she had churros. They were frozen. The outside was rock hard and the inside was non existent. Covered in cinnamon sugar, even though I asked for none because we don’t like it. We couldn’t eat them. I love Mexican food, but unfortunately Bournemouth lacks any good Mexican food places. Wouldn’t return.

Walked by and decides to give it a go in stead of our favourite Portuguese chicken restaurant. It was a Friday night and very busy. Had to wait long for being served, but waiter apologised. Wife wanted the pull pork taco, but the pork was out of stock. Later we ordered two Desperados, which were not in stock either. My enchilada was so so. Ordered the volcano sauce, but it wasn’t spicy at all A’s was my spicy beef chili. Unfortunate. Nothing to do with real Mexican food. Milkshake, on the other hand was good. But all in all our eating experience was very average. I don’t understand how it’s possible that food isn’t in stock at the beginning of one of you busiest nights of the weekend.

Cassandra looked after us and she was superb! She was always attentive and she recommended dishes and cocktails to us. She had a nice smile on her face at all times and was very friendly. We were also impressed with the new menus. The Vegan and gluten free options. Fantastic! We had such an amazing time and I don't think it would have been possible without Cassandra. Its the first good experience I've had at Chiquitos because I went to the one in Feltham a couple of times and they were awful and it was very disappointing. So after the convention we attended that weekend, we thought we would chance it with the Bournemouth branch and I'm glad that we did. I've restored faith in Chiquitos now!

Had always been pleased visiting here before, but this was not a great experience. Ordered 2 kids menus and for 3 adults, but the kids had to sit and wait as all the adult meals came out first. And wait. Eventually their meals arrived but one was with the wrong accompaniments and missing items! Place was fairly empty but one overworked staff member had to cover everything it seemed which meant very difficult to get this put right. So even more unhappy children. For the adults we had food (but would have preferred the children had it first!). One fajita was sizzling and tasty ✅, a second fajita was just hot and dry and tasteless, a chimichanga was also dry and tasteless with gristly meat.Churros were bland and greasy with very little chocolate.Now when I look back, I think it was worse than disappointing!

After a day on the beach our family of 4 were pleased to find a Chiquitos. Howwver, they could only accept cash as their machine wasn't working. This meant we paid to get some cash out. The waiter was very attentive and lively. On the whole I was pretty disappointed with the food. The quality was poor compared with its price. The portions were smaller and it altogether tasted cheaper. I had the gluten free corn tortillas and unfortunately I found them inedible. I would suggest simply serving it with rice instead. Won't be going back in a hurry.

I ate at Chiquito in Bournemouth with my husband and 2 children and was really impressed with the food and the excellent service from Cassandra. We have eaten in other Chiquito restaurants and the food has always been average but today's was really good and much nicer than we've had elsewhere. Cassandra was so lovely with the children and couldn't do enough to help, she came across as so genuine and seemed to really enjoy her job which made our dining experience perfect. I only wish the chiquito restaurants nearer to where we live were as good!

I have been here before and the food service was ok. So return probably after about a year. Food, one dish over cook dry and worst was the raw ribs. Service slow, table sticky and the place we where seated smelt .

Service very poor, food mediocre. This chain has really gone downhill in the last few years. The staff at the Bournemouth branch, although not rude, but totally lacking in customer service. No-one came over to ask whether we wanted to replenish our drinks or if the meal was okay. The food when it did arrive was tasteless. Won’t ever be visiting this chain again!!

Food overpriced, cold and unappetising Service probably the worst I have ever had Had southern fried chicken burger and even though there were very few people in it took over half an hour to serve and when arrived it was like eating a cold piece of cardboardWife had jambalaya which had a very limited ingredient list and the prawns in shells could only be called fresh or edible twenty years ago

If you like Las Iguanas you will probably like this place, and if you don't there is a Las Iguanas downstairs ! South American food that was tasty and served in a timely manner by pleasant staff, no problems. If you wish to don one of the many sombreros that decorate the place then feel free, when we visited on a Thursday at 7pm they were turning people away. Centrally located in a modern multi outlet Odeon.complex.

Can I say that having read some of the negative reviews. The place is lovely, very different but really welcoming .. The staff are great .. The food is lovely and plentiful. Love the atmosphere of the place ... Give it a visit...

What can I say other than how incredibly disappointing. We arrived and the restaurant was not busy and decided to sit outside. We ordered at the bar, with a barman who really had no idea what he was doing so ordering itself took 15 minutes (we were using a 2 for 1 deal). Our starters (chicken strips and sweet potato croquettes) were incredibly tasty, but took a long time to arrive, our mains were abysmal. The steak was overcooked and the burger was burnt, we also had to ask for our starter plates to be cleared when the mains arrived and then waited a further 10 minutes for cutlery, mayonnaise and vinegar, as well as one of our drinks that was ordered with the starters (a milkshake that when eventually showed up was the wrong flavour!) we would have asked for a replacement meal however no check back was made at the time.When we had finished eating the manager cleared our table and asked how everything was. She was very apologetic when we told her how unsatisfied we were and her manner was the only redeeming factor of the whole experience. For such a large chain on such a quiet day we really would have expected better.

Started really well, service was quick! Had the nachos to start and they were lovely! Quickly cleared and had the mains on the way! I had the beef burger with cheese and bacon, completely flavourless, not enjoyable at all! Asked what looked like the manger for some bbq sauce his response was ‘are you going to keep me running about all night’ obviously he was joking however the bbq sauce never turned up! Wasn’t that busy saw the gentleman stood at the bar chatting away so clearly no reason for him not to cater to our needs! All in all shall not be returning!

Visited Chiquito for a quick mid week dinner while staying overnight in Bournemouth. The varied menu allowed a quick choice to be made and the food served was good at a very reasonable price for centre of town.

We visited whilst on a weekend break and were pretty satisfied with the food and prices here. Unfortunately the staff seemed pretty disinterested in providing any real customer service, but at least gave us a little more sauce for our burritos, since the sauce give first time around was pretty stingy. We are vegetarians so the choice on offer was limited on the main menu, although they do have a vegan menu which we didn’t try this time around.To be honest we’d probably come again as it has a nice atmosphere, reasonable prices and ok food. I just hope we have happier staff greet and serve us next time.

This place is a lovely Mexican Style restaurant, food good and friendly staff, a big favourite with families during lunch period can be noisy, do not know what its like at night sorry.

Wer das ultimative Mexicoerlebnis sucht - weiter suchen! Na gut vielleicht war es auch etwas naiv dies zu denken von einer Restaurantkette! Das essen war völlig geschmacklos! Fünf Stufen von ‚scharf‘ wird uns auf der Karte angepriesen. Die Volcano Stufe wurde ausgewählt! Leider war daran nix Volanco! Nur sehr fettig das alte Öl konnte man riechen und das Fleisch war trocken! Leider hat der sehr freundliche Kellner das ganze nicht wett gemacht!

Went here for a pre theatre meal. Show at 8 so booked a table for 6.15Arrived promptly, shown to table. After 10 minutes ordered food and drinks. Drinks arrived 10 minutes later. Then we waited...... at 7.15 I went to find the poor waitress running everywhere to ask how much longer as we were going to a show and she said any minute. Our food arrived at 7.35 with no apologies, we had to rush and not enjoy.Not an enjoyable experience. Tower park much better!!

Ordered chimichangas with chicken and I have to say I wasn't impressed at all. Tortilla was so dry, rice filling was dry as well and the fact that they only give you like a tiny amount of avocado and sour cream dips with it doesn't help. I've paid £11 for better mains. Not coming back here anytime soon.

I liked it, first time visit for me & been meaning to try for a while. Though did note we arrived at the right time, as it got really busy & we were concerned we'd have time to eat & make film on time!

Don't go here if you want quick service 20 mins for drinks to arrive, starters were so slow we almost finished all drinks. Then slow mains. We only had to pay because they panicked when we started to leave as fed up waiting. Poor at attention from waiters food average. Thus is in cinema complex so they should be snappy. I might sound extreme but I gave lots friends in Bournemouth and they report similiar experiences, we gave benefit of doubt that it was unfortunate first time , but twice it's a pattern avoid.

We visited at a quiet time on a Sunday evening. The service was slow and staff were indifferent. What appeared to be a manager spent the whole time strutting and dancing around the restaurant. He then spoke to a woman on a neighbouring table, criticising the inability to retain staff. The food was delicious but this standard of service is unacceptable-we will not return!

The food was amazing and the service was fast upon arrival. However some of the staff weren’t keen on seating other parties at the door or coming to clean tables. They avoided eye contact and walked around the restaurant.

Yesterday (26th May) my friend and I visited this chiquitos, where it took us 10 minutes to be seated. The restaurant was basically empty yet we were sat right next to a huge family of which the children were running around and bashing our chairs all through the night whilst we were trying to eat could barely digest the food!I tried to explain to the waitress how it was my birthday meal out as she sat us but was completely ignored and the menus slammed down on the table. She couldnt of been rid of us fast enough!Everytime we wanted to order something we had to go up to the bar everytime as no one came to our table at all! Food also came out before the drinks which was Brill! our plates weren't even cleared the whole time we were there!!Finally when we wanted to pay the bill we were sat for 30 mins waiting for someone anyone to take our money lol. Should've just done a runner for as not a single server was on the restaurant floor for 15 mins.Tried to complain to the manager who could not give a rats ass!Cheers for ruining my birthday Chiqui-Crap!

Came back to say one item was off the menu. drinks came within 10 mins (smallest americano coffee ever!). a full 30 mins after ordering the food came which was at best average. southern fried chicken with bbq pulled pork consisted of a thimble-full amount of pork. all the time servers were going here and there without seeming to do very much. watching the staff around the servery they seemed to be more concerned with getting Deliveroo orders out. the whole thing took a full hour for a simple one course meal and it wasn't just us left dissatisfied. the couple on the next table had to ask three times for two sides that they'd ordered with their main course. they finally arrived when they were about to finish their meal. the staff just seem to be poorly trained and whoever is managing the establishment is falling down on the job big time.

As just ok. Both of the starters we wanted were sold out as were one of the drinks we wanted.Also one of the sides was sold out. I had a chimichanga which was ok but not very hot, which makes me think it had just been reheated. Food was ok but I wouldn’t rush back.They need to up their game.

We were in Chiquito on a Sunday's evening. There were a lot of people inside and I thought we would wait for a long time to be sited but a nice boy took us to the table and fortunately we didnt have to wait long. The food was great. My burrito was hot and tasty. The service was also good. I liked the place and I will definitely go there again.

Lovely friendly staff, just can’t believe they have stopped making the Mexican mess. Wife’s gluten free meal was only warm.

Nice enough restaurant, but food took really long to arrive. Not ideal with kids. Also.knsisted on keeping main door open so and it was very cold throughout.

I visited Chiquito on a Tuesday evening with a friend after the cinema. The restaurant was around half full but there seemed to be only one waitress working. The service throughout our meal was painfully slow. The waitress apologised for the wait each time she came over to us but there should have been more staff working! Half way through our meal another staff member started his shift but the speed of service did not improve. It became very frustrating and we were sat waiting for an unreasonable amount of time after asking for the bill.On a positive note, our food was very tasty. My burrito was hot, fresh and tasty and my friend thoroughly enjoyed her salad. I'd give this restaurant a second chance but only because the food was so good. Please improve your service!

Me and my 10 friends have booked a table for this evening and the food was great and our waitress Maya was very helpfull and the service was great. We will definately be back again :)

So the food here is lovely! However the staff are awful they clearly do not know what customer service is no smiles, funny looks because on own!! Rude manner and not very polite!! Restaurant was almost empty where all the other restaurants are busy!! no wonder!!

Lovely food at this restaurant. We were just disappointed with the service having asked for more drinks and not getting any. Through our whole meal me only had one drink which we ordered while we decided on food. No one came to ask how our food was either - which is unusual in most restaurants. It was midweek and did not seem that full - particularly as they were only taking cash that night due to an internet problem so being busy didn’t seem to be the issue.

Nice restaurant decor inside. Busy. Waitresses were friendly. Food was nice. Would go back again and try different food. Would recommend.

We came to this restaurant after a concert in Bournemouth. There had been a fire alarm just before we arrived and no one was directing the customers out of the building. We had a reservation but there were no reception staff and we waited and waited until we were finally shown our table. The waiter whose English was appalling, was very rude and insolent. He came quickly with the drinks menu and the main menu and left us little time to choose what we wanted. Our friend ordered nachos and expected to get a guacamole sauce, but had to chase the waiter to produce this. The desserts were simple but pleasant. We shall not be going back there as the service was poor.

Brilliant evening and meal at this restaurant.. Waiting for drink and orders for food took a while but was worth it.
