Flat out busy, but still ready 20 minutes after phoning. Piping hot still when I got home, really great chips, beef sausages super sauce, all seems good!

been going here fore few years now,excellent food and friendly service,best fish supper in the town,wouldn,t go anywhere else.

. Made a phone order, arrived at prearranged time with money ready and just to collect order which was ready. Only to be refused by one of many staff to be told that only one person could accept my money and handle my order. That person was on the phone taking a large order adding up to £88, taking 10 minutes, meanwhile made to stand waiting and the food was getting cold. When I got home a short distance away only to find the food is too cold to eat and had to be binned.

Best place for fish and chips. In the midst of a cost of living crisis the portions are huge and would feed 2 people. The fish is massive and twice the size of my nearest chippy. Always pleasant staff, great service, great value and always drive past everywhere else if it’s fish supper time.

They have started to cut back on their portion's lately.. Think I'll head somewhere else!

Wee girl with glasses and dark hair is 200% useless. Ordered a battered fillet burger and received sausages, chips and beans which I found to be disgusting

Absolutely delicious fish and chips, very few can get it right these days, the portion size is massive and one fish supper could easily feed two people, lovely white fish with delicious batter and the chips are crispy and moist at the same time. 😉👍

I order a fish from there when I got it home there was a big bit had broke of it no one told me anything happen that's the first time it will be the last

Used to love this place. Was always our go to chippy, but recently the fish has had far too much batter making it very hard and crispy. Yesterday the chips looked like they had been lying in the fat for too long. Not sure what has changed but very disappointed.

One of the few genuinely authentic fish and chip shops left in mid-ulster. Beautiful food, friendly service and competitive prices... the crowds at 5.30 this evening were there for good reason. Keep up the good work folks!! Brilliant!

Was just ok for me! But each to their own! Gravy is a cheap chinese type! Not nice at all.

Good food always nicely cooked. Ring it in and they will have it ready for you to collect. They have measures in place for covid 19 to limit contact 👍

The food here is pretty good if you need a quick meal. I didn't have to wait too long for it and its price was alright.

We decided to try Chips Direct for a change last night and can honestly say it is the best fish and chips in town, indeed the best we have had anywhere for some time. Absolutely delicious. Light, crispy batter on the fish and lovely chips. Presentation and service were also excellent. Probably wouldn’t consider anywhere else in town for a fish supper now.

Delicious kebab wrap with salad. Great staff but try to avoid busy time between five and six if you are in a hurry-staff flat to the mat!

Worst staff I've ever met. Took a bit of time looking at the menu and this obviously bothered the staff as they were making faces at me and I caught them like two dears in the head lights. Some big fat sow eating as she serves you. I would rather burn my money than give it here

After a day out with friends we all had fabulous fish n chips from Chips Direct-they were absolutely delicious! What a tasty treat Highly recommended

Stunned to see that they take battered fish from the freezer to cook. Cannot understand why this is necessary in a very busy chippy, and clearly contributed to a very crumbly fish. On the plus side onion rings were very good...also cooked from frozen... won’t be returning.

In my opinion Chips Direct is the Best Chip Shop in Portadown. The owers are very generous to their staff, which in turn creates a team that always strive to do their very best!! Staff are organised and effecient, and their attention to detail is why they serve great food. If you havn't tried it you are missing out.

First visit to chips direct. Having heard it was highly rated I expected great things. Very disappointing to be honest. Chips not fresh and fish under cooked. Won’t be back and certainly won’t be recommending it to anyone.

Rang in to place an order on 11.12.17 at 12.15 picked up ten minutes later piping hot and absolutely beautiful. Fish had just the correct amount of batter lovely fresh chips. Lovely staff and well priced.

Now this is the best chip shop in Ireland , some other shops make false claims about having real chips (bad boys ) this shop has real fresh cut chip from well you wouldn't believe it potatoes, ( lots of other shops use rubbish in bags delivered to the shop in plastic vac packed with lots of rubbish added to keep them from going black) great fish , smashing chips , and the cleanest shop in Ireland as well , deserves that 5star rating , keep up the great work .

All cooked to order, with huge pieces of fish. Had to wait in the queue to order.....always a good sign....& worth the wait.

I was introduced to this chip shop by a family member and, quite honestly, their fish suppers are the stuff of dreams. Remember all those years ago when things tasted better? Well, this will take you back. I genuinely haven't tasted fish suppers as good as this for a lifetime. And they do Whiting as well as Cod, very rare and very welcome.

Been here a couple times just because I didn't have time to go else where, stuff each time was so dry I was worried it would turn to dust when I touched it. Staff are ill mannered and prices are to high. Try to avoid if you can.

This is a great spot, not the quickest generally but as a general rule for us is one of us loves the chicken burgers, the other doesn't, and none of us like the chips, but their peppered chicken baguettes are moreish!

On a recent visit to Portadown we were advised to try Chips Direct take out. Note, if you don’t phone your order in ahead of time you could stand in the chippy (or outside on the sidewalk) for half an hour. This tiny little establishment cooks only on request so nothing is left sitting under a warmer getting wilted and overcooked. Everything here is freshly cooked (fried) and hot. The fact that customers are lined up into the street speaks volumes. And the fish and chips were wonderful!
