Placed order in shop and waited 15 minutes or so however one of the dishes had not been taken properly in the order so had to correct in the shop. The meals were hot enough when we got home and they were fine but the chicken curry was not very spicy, bordering on a bit bland.

This place isn't worth a mention. I have used it in emergencies and anytime I do, they never fail to disappoint. They seem to make any dish I order taste like sweet and sour? Thai style (sweet/sour) Crispy Chilli Beef (sweet/sour) Szechuan dishes (sweet/sour) .... give that jar a rest guys and get your act together, please!

First time getting takeaway from here and I’ll be back. The salt and chilli chicken had roasted garlic in it which just made it taste amazing. Prices are excellent as well.

We had a really good Chinese takeaway from here. The food was quickly prepared, it stayed hot on the walk back and it tasted fresh, plus there were leftovers for the next day. Their salt & chilli ribs were particularly yummy.

This is my family's Chinese restaurant (and sometimes takeaway) of choice. The menu is good and the dishes are freshly made. Apart from one occasion, we have been the only customers in the restaurant. The takeaway service is always busy but also good. I deducted one point because the restaurant is cold (presumably it isn't normally heated because not much used) although radiators are switched on when customers arrive. Fast, pleasant service.

While the restaurant was empty again on our most recent visit, the adjoining takeaway was doing the usual brisk trade. The chicken noodle soup is generously packed and almost like a stew. Salt and pepper chicken wings are really enjoyable. For mains, the lemon chicken was really excellent; well cooked tender chicken and lovely sauce and a single serving was enough for two people. Crispy shredded beef in honey sauce also recommended. A pity more people don't use the restaurant rather than ordering takeaways.

Delighted to give a full hearted and positive review on this take away. We were referred by the Keltiebridge caravan site to sample this restaurant and we were not disappointed by the food and service. The food was really good and the portions were generous to say the least. We were a party of four and no one had anything to say against the quality of the meal. Excellent service and great food. Would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys great Chinese food. Enjoy your meal as we did.

I was on a weekend away with my wife ,We decided to go for a meal and when we got to Dunblane We looked at the Chinese Restaurant which was totally empty but decided to go in anyway as we could not find an alternative place to eat .As we went in the waiter switched on the lights. We had Chicken noddle soup which was nice ,Then came the chicken curry the chicken was nice enough but the curry sauce was absolutely rank tasted like cheap powdered packet sauce .

Popped in expecting a traditional Chinese restaurant as stated on the sign outside but seems it's a take away with a restaurant thrown on the side... took our order then we waited a good 20 minutes just to get a take away bag of prawn crackers thar were put in a bowl.... no actual alcohol apart from wine or Chinese beer... we left after waiting a further 20 minutes after being told kitchen was busy with takeaways... please steer clear of this place

We travel to this carry-out from Comrie as it is the nearest best Chinese we have found (apart from one other in Stirling). The food has always been good and the service great. The food is still hot when we get back, well worth the drive to collect it

Waited 73 minutes for the food to be delivered. Chicken and cashew nuts had no cashew nuts and tasted foul. Prawn toast was absolutely dripping in grease. Inedible actually and the "chips" were the soggiest greasiest most limp chips I have ever seen. Again inedible. Disgusting. Rice and prawn crackers were fine. The man offered to make me more food, which I declined, and after 3 phone calls then offered a free meal. No thanks!! Will probably never eat Chinese food again.

Been here 3 times before and it has always sold alcohol & been a good venue so was a bit concerned to read one of the reviews especially as we were booked in for New Years Eve. Thankfully it DID serve alcohol and a bottle of wine and Chinese beer were ordered. We were in a party of 5, there were another group in, but that was all. It has always been quiet when we have visited. It does have a very busy takeaway next door. The other comment about being dearer than a take-away is standard for every restaurant - even Greggs have to charge you extra to eat a doughnut & sausage roll in their store. So that should not be seen as too much of an issue. £7 - £9 for a main course is a decent price and comparable to any restaurant at this level. The waitress didn't understand too much English but the menu arrived as ordered, tasted decent and no one had any complaints on the food or service. Will definitely go back. It is quiet and Dunblane now has a lot more eating places than when we first went there a few years ago.Have never had a takeaway from here, so will pop in the next time we are in the area.

Whent to the china gourmet on 31/10/13. When we went to the resturant it was empty and cold,we should have walked out.the only reason we stayed is that we had been there a few times before and the food was nice.it got off to a bad start when we were told that they longer sold alcohol.so much for a glass of wine, the girl serving us still had her coat on as I take it she was cold.the starters were nice but the main courses were dreadful.bye that time we had had enough and asked for the bill.the for our meals came to £45.10.i think was a bit over the top.i just hope that they put the money to re-decorate the place as its a bit drab.i can easly say that we won't be back,a waste of money.,

Having read the reviews we went with high hopes, do all the regular staff have Tuesday evenings off? Our waiter was doing his best , but it was pretty hopeless their was a language problem from the start. We chose the mixed starters which too be fair were good unfortunately that's where it stopped our main courses were both very poor. This on top of the fact that the prices are almost twice the take away prices made for a miserable experience.

We dined here during our stay in Dunblane. Restaurant didn't look the best but the food was amazing!! The waitress was friendly & efficient. I had crispy chicken with chilli & garlic which was out of this world while my fiancé had tofu in black bean sauce,he said it was the best tofu dish he has ever had! We found it a bit expensive as the same dishes to take away were half the price, the mark up from take away to sit in was £5-£6 which we thought was a bit much, also there was no bar. My fiancé likes a Chinese beer with his Chinese meal but we could only get soft drinks. Despite the negatives we probably would eat here again if we were back in Dunblane because the food was so good!

Looking for somewhere to eat one night we thought we would try here.My advice would be avoid at all costs. We were served by someone wearing a puffy anorak with a hood and communication wasn't easy wasn't even a cold day , weird .After ordering a what I thought I had asked for a pint of lager they brought a can of tenements which someone had been playing football with. We could not wait to get out Food was overpriced and in contrast to some of the great Chinese restaurants we have tried well bellow average .The only redeeming feature was that the toilets seemed clean even if they do keep all the lights out in them ? Decor looks as if it hasn't been touched in many years , not a hidden gem more of an old brick .

Have eaten here many times, the restaurant is usually quiet but the service is good and the food is tasty and well prepared. They often have specials on, and at Chinese New Year they often do authentic Hong Kong menus which for the more adventurous are a real experience. I would recommend the China Gourmet for take away or eat in if in the area.

We live in Edinburgh but visited this place as our daughter and her husband live in Dunblane, We are therefore spoilt for choice of good restaurants in Edinburgh. This place is really quite different in terms of service. We booked a table for 4 and when we arrived it was all set up with a large plate of prawn crackers, ice cold water plus a bowl of ice cubes on the side waiting for us. The prawn crackers was topped up three times and was free. Came with a nice chili sauce dip. Portions are large and the service is uuobstrusive but attentive. At the end a small fruit salad was served, after eight and polar mints - all extras. The hot and sour soup is good as is the salt and chili dishes. Food was a enrage to good but all the extras made it really quite nice to be at. You sat and enjoyed your meal without feeling rushed. Hot towels at the end of the meal and it would be top notch. Would certainly visit again.

A bit wary following other reviews, but we really enjoyed the meal. Simon and his friend were welcoming, some trays were low, but they straight away filled them up. Got our choice of nan, etc. We were in cosmo in Glasgow yesterday, and although they had a bigger selection , the quality was equally good. My favourite, the lamb curry and the Tika salad.

My wife and I both had Special Fried Rice accompanied with a tub of curry sauce. Very tasty indeed! Contrary to previous reviews, I thought it was good value at £8 for each main dish plus £2.90 for the curry sauce. Jim Genuinely friendly service and a very welcoming feel to the place. It was a takeaway we had, but you have to go into the restaurant to order, which had a pleasing ambience. Next time we're in Callander I think we'll dine in!

Bring earplugs! Food fantastic, although if you order sweet and sour, you recieve a thimble full. Staff don't return to tables for you to order more either. Staff were more interested in carryout and delivery service. Perhaps the restaurant should not exist. Saturday night is busy, but if they are so successful, perhaps employing some one to answer the phone would be advised. It rang CONSTANTLY when we were there, so 1.5 hours. We couldn't hear ourselves speak. Staff standing beside it didn't even answer it. We had to seek out our own bill at the 'bar', and it was thrown at us. At no point did ANYONE ask if we needed anything else, if we were satisfied with our meal. Sad really, the money is their own driving force.
