China Gardens in Derry

Got spring rolls last night the only things in it was cabbage and carrots vile not one beansprout onion or pepper in it I wanted a Chinese spring roll with Chinese vegetables

This place does lavely food seriously it's sweet to the best💯

Reception girl took my order wrong and the argued it was my fault. Wiĺl never eat here again.

Worst experience. Asked them to make extra spicy all that they did us to just add some chilli flake to the salt and chilli chicken. The chicken was extremely dry and the rice was blunt. Waste of money.

This place is nothing like they say. The worst liers ever. Waiting on delivery nearly two hour and when I phone down they said should be on its way ..said ok no problem phone back in 20 min and they said the same. Not happy at all. Told them to cancel and the girl said ok just and hung up .. never again. And if people ask me I'll tell them is not worth it. Liers

Can never get a order right. Always missing something may it be curry, or drinks!

I used to order from here regularly enough. Hadn't had it for a while and decided last night at 11:30 I'd order a munchie box. Finally arrived at just before 2am at which point I already had a pizza in the oven. Food was cold, greasy and looked like it had been sitting since the time it was ordered at half 11. Driver also told me he didn't bring my cans of mineral cause they didn't have the drink I ordered instead of just giving me a different drink. I will 100% not be ordering from here again.

Used to be my no.1 go-to Chinese but they have increased the prices lately and cut down on the portions. No, thank you. China kitchen is just as nice but more generous and around a £ or so cheaper for a curry order. It was great while it lasted China Garden. But you have now slid from my first choice to 3rd choice Chinese in Derry. What a shame

Just phoned for delivery chicken for curry is cooked and then heated up reception didn't know if it was real chicken or processed won't be going back there

ok, tbh the gravy chip i had yesterday at 9pm ish was decent, but come on. if that was an adult portion id love to have seen the childs [expensive too]. but anyway thats besides the point as my real problem was the staff who despite having nothing else to do, other than scroll on there mobile phones, didnt solicitate myself and my partner for at least 3 minutes, 2 of which were spent with our heads basically in the ordering window. when finally acknowledged we were greeted with a loud "ARE YOU FOR ORDERIN?!?" as if that wasnt already obvious. she then remained seated for the entirity of the order which had been outstretched due to the fact she kept making us shout our order across rather than getting up and doing her job correctly. on the plus side, all that standing around gave me time to notice the vape and plethora of lighters on the counter. oh yes and the menu layout was horrible.

Awful chips won't be ordering again have been trying to give this takeaway a chance but they don't want to know Awful stuff Awful Awful

I had home made currys an nicer . Never will order again . The rice was pure mush . Wouldn't even ask for my money back u need it more then us .

Just got chicken and black bean sauce. Omg I couldn't eat it. all I could taste was salt real bad someone needs to have a word with the chief

Easily the best Chinese Takeaway in town. Affordable and delicious. Fast delivery too. Been ordering here for years. Enjoy!

Not good at all, used to be very good years ago, stay away.

This place used to be a decent takeaway, not anymore , the chips here are absolutely stinking, staff are to busy on there phones to change the oil in the fryers. Horrible .

This place must make an absolute fortune on undelivered drinks. Decent Chinese but they literally never deliver the drink. I’m probably owed at least a tenner at this stage. I ordered this evening and asked the driver if he had my drink. He said no, apologised and said he’d bring it up. I told him this happens literally every time I ring in an order. I’m sitting here an hour later and he hasn’t returned. What is the craic with this place? It’s no different when I order in person. I have to ask every single time for my drink that I’ve already paid for, before I leave the premises. The staff behind the counter couldn’t be less enthused either. They sit on their phones when you’re the only person in the takeaway, don’t look up, don’t say hello, don’t say thanks, don’t say goodbye. They don’t even hang up the phone to take your order. The customer service is absolutely ridiculous. If I’m gonna give this place my money, I expect at least some manners, if not my full order.

Ordered a delivery tonight, and for the second time I might add, it took almost an hour to arrive the six minute drive. It was sent to the wrong address, and the order was wrong, oh and of course cold. I telephoned to ask for an explanation and was rather shortly told that it was the telephone's fault that it was wrong and went to the wrong house. So unprofessional, these staff are your business face, they are your image. It would probably be helpful if they were nicer, even feigned apology, and had any semblance of caring how your customers viewed your food. They just do not seem to care. You need to think of a better way to display your business to the public, because it is not working the way it is.

I got a meal tonight and the chips were wrinkled and hard (old) and the chicken was processed. I brought it back and asked for a refund because at the price it was, it was the same as places I know which do non processed / 100% chicken. (Wish I'd gone there, but this was close and I was starving. ) The cashier was snappy and told me I wouldn't get a refund but could get new chips. She then proceeded to go behind where I could hear everything and in a nasty voice say ' she thinks the chips are old ' etc. Then the kitchen staff started to say in nasty, 'couldn't be bothered' voices ' the chips are fresh', there is nothing wrong with them etc. So, no apologies when the chips came back and another female came out from the back to have a look at me and give me a filthy look. Then a male came out and did the same. I told him I'd heard him and he grinned and said ' heard who'? So, I'd say, go to this venue if you want to be treated like crap by THREE staff, pay too much for what you get, get given dirty looks, not believed, served bouncy, processed , pumped with liquid, rubbery "chicken". I wouldn't eat at China Garden for all the pumped up chicken in Derry you could offer me. Mandarin palace, 5 mins away, is only slightly more expensive but it's a million times better , in all ways. I won't make that mistake again.

Ordered A take away sat night, delivery came with no curry sauce, rang back to say it was left out of the order to be argued with down phone saying I didn’t ask for curry explained why would I order a Chinese with no curry, the wee girl on phone continued to argue sayin I def didn’t order curry sauce after a few choice words thought wat was point ended call.. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired

Lovely Chinese and good prices.. Would definitely go back :) very fast delivery in some occasions.. The place could do with a little revamp although not a bad word to ah about the food :)

If you are after a nice greasy filling meal as a take out, then try it. It is good value for money, and you certainly will be well fed, its not fine dining but it sure fills a gap!

I love the food at china gardens, no where else seems to do Honey Chilli Chicken....or captial chicken around the city centre... friendly staff, fast delivery, the only thing is its expensive around 2.50/3.00 for delivery so its better to walk down. We once got the wrong order,and they sent out a full new order of what we should have had straight away free of charge! Very happy with the service

If you crave for authentic Chinese food, don't go there. But if you think pizza is authentic Italian food, then China Gardens is ok.
