Best Chinese food in Chester-le-Street

I order from here frequently. The staff and delivery drivers are always friendly. The food is always of a very high standard. The crispy shredded beef in Cantonese sauce is the best I’ve had from a takeaway

First time ordering from China diner and they now have a regular customer. Absolutely out of this would for taste. Will be back. Highly recommend the shredded chicken in honey chilli sauce.

Portion size is getting smaller and gravy and curry tubs has gotten very small and the price has not gone down on the gravy or curry

Possibly the best Chinese takeaway not just in Chester le street but the north east. Honey chilli chicken will change your life

Food was raw not cook chicken balls were slimy the noodles weren't cooked they were raw and the chips were cooked on outside but not in middle never ordering again they need shutting down

Just ordered duck in plum sauce and it was vile just full of fat ☹️chips tasted like they were 3 days old , it's gone down hill I won't be ordering again ☹️

I ordered two meals on Thursday evening one meal was lemon chicken as soon as I opened the box I could tell batter was rock hard n chicken inside was very dry lemon sauce was terrible as well I was very disappointed as had just come out of hospital and hadn't eaten for a few days and was looking forward to it very disappointed

Alongside Ken's the best in Chester le street at the minute.

I have never had anything from here for a long time and I must say the meal I have just had was very nice and good portion sizes.

Cancelled my food after 45 minutes of of waiting for it

Been getting takeaway from here for last few years and have noticed the food is definitely getting worse. Our meal tonight had the worst chicken in we've ever had. It was rubbery, slimy & tasted disgusting. My partner took it back & complained. We won't order from here again.

appalling delivery was ordered at 18:00hrs its now 21:00hrs absolutely rubbish I would not order from these again.

This place is getting worse. Food is good but don't expect it any time soon after your order. I have ordered for years from here with no issues but over the last mont it has been horrendous times. 1.45 hours. 3 hours. Been hour and 10 mins now and just been told another half hour, for chips and chow mein. I live 10 mins drive away. You get no estimated time either so it is literally pay and wait. Make sure you pay on delivery you have choice to cancel order. Slipping big style

ordered food at 6.36 pm .delivery time was 8.10pm it got to 8.40 and still no food got told it will be another 30 mins wont order again no discount for very late order

Beef and black pepper is always great as is the shredded crispy chicken. Great portions.

Love this takeaway happily drive 20 mile round trip to get food from here

Ordered house special fried rice and got pek chopped pork with egg ... Very rude when we rang she asked us to give the order back and hand to driver !!

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! I only had things in basket and they rang me shouting to pay to order, then when I trying to explain women on phone went URGGH and said something in Chinese and another women came on phone... SO RUDE AND HORRID!

Ordered my chinese at 6.15 and given a delivery time of 7.15, i rang at 7.30 to see where it was to be told it was only just being cooked and would be another 45 minutes, so by the time it gets here it will be 2 hours after i ordered thats if they deliver it then!!!!

Been a whole 2 times and food is very good. Portion sizes aren't bad too.

Very Poor food tonight very salty and not upto the standard we normally have

Used to use them quite regularly but never again. Ordered 10 past 6 on the app and was emailed 7.45 delivery which is fair enough for saturday night. Still no food at 8.15 so rang to chase it up and they said it was going with the next driver and would be another half an hour. Food arrived just after 9 and was clay cold and had a fried rice missing. Almost 3 hours for that! What a joke! I have a child who was tired and famished! Had to ring and complain and ask for a reimbursement. Lost my custom for good. What a shame.

Ordered delivery tonight and was told 1 hour.after 1hour and 10 mins I rang to be told it was on way.after an hour and a half I rang again not an apology just said shall I ring driver.without a sought the worst lying thats in chester-le-street. Don't use if I was you

I ordered chicken fried rice which was cold and the chicken was very rubbery. Couldn’t eat it. Chips were greesy and just didn’t taste nice at all. Order Come to 22.50 delivery was late and over all the food was minging, won’t be back

This Chinese was awful ! Don't know how you can get a chicken curry wrong but they did ! 1 star for the presentation ! Put us off having take aways for a long while .

The worst chinese I have ever had in my life!! I rang and asked them to collect it and give me a refund and they refused. Disgusting low quality food.

On Arrival the food we paid for was all wrong. There was NO RICE. No Prawn Crackers. I asked for Chicken Sweet n Sour but it was Mixed with mostly a grey brown stick like thing i think is beef... and prawn, and I hate prawns. The Sweet n Sour sauce is a horrid syrup with pineapple chunks. The only sign of a pepper is the base of the pepper, thee worst part of the pepper to eat. Out of the 100s or 1000s of Chinese orders i have made, this is definitely by far the worst of all time.

Would give them - 5 if I could waited hour and half for my food. My better half called them asking where our order was. She had a right nasty attitude didn't care that we didn't have it. I won't be ordering form here again.!!! The food was just warm when fully got it.

Ordered from here a few times in the past took over 1 and a half hours for food the delivery driver was not at fault it was the owners as i knew the driver and got talking to her as we were the last of the deliveries will not be ordering from here any time soon thats for sure

Best Chinese I've had in a long time!

No stars ordered chicken curry it was rank processed chicken paid 6.30 didn't even get any rice with it

We ordered food tonight and were given a time slot of 9pm. At 9.20 we called the store and were told it was on the way. We called again at 9.40 and were told the order was being put together again as driver was lost. At 10.30 we called again and were told that we canceld the order. Obviously we did not cancel the order and the woman just wanted to argue. We have two children and neather of them have now had there evening meal before bed. Poor service, poor communication and will NEVER EVER USE AGAIN.

As a first time customer I was totally disgusted ' I ordered house special curry with extra meat as we were sharing and fried rice with chips the total costing 14.80 let's just say I won't be ordering again

Everything is much more than other takeaways even try and charge you for rice where other ones give you for free or twenty pence more I start ordering on just eat then get to the end and think what and just order from somewhere else

Have ordered here for a long time, always been lovely. The menu has changed and our usual order tasted completely different...definitely not for the better. Disappointing.

WOW! Chilli & Pepper King Prawns are absolutely lush!!! Best Chinese in Co Durham! & the only one that has banana fritters on the menu! FAB FAB FAB!!! ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!

Thoroughly enjoyed our food, not our usual Chinese takeaway but just as good if not better. Good size portions very quick delivery and the food was piping hot and delicious

Fast delivery and good food that's also great value

My wife ordered through just eat. I got suzehaun chicken. Hardly any chicken at all. Box was just full of onions and sauce and about 6 or seven small pieces of chicken, and I mean small. Not the cheapest either. Don't think I'll bother again

Not very nice at all I oreded house special fried rice and gravy the gravy tasted like sweat and sour sauce mixed with Bbq sauce it was awful The lady said on the phone she cover the top with house stake and that was a some sort of chicken that had a very dicusting smell I will never be ordering ever again it been the worst takeaway I have ever oreded!

Food is alway nice and hot on delivery, massive portions and great quality, not the cheapest but you pay for what you get, been ordering now for over 7 years and try other Chinese but always come back.
