Food was cold and lacked any flavour. Chicken balls uncooked and delivery was late.

By far the best Chinese takeaway I have ever had. I stumbled upon this takeaway on just eat, and I have been ordering every other day since. I had a £60 order of seafood fried rice, mushroom soup, various starters, including ribs, prawn and their crab.. and my family was unanimous in their reviews. Simply the best.

I came here and made my order of sweet and sour chicken balls and spring rolls. The service I received was good and I only waited seven minutes for my order I was the only customer Inside is small and there is some table and chairs. What I ordered was alright the chicken balls was nice with the sauce and the two spring rolls I received was huge and large very filling but very oily and greasey.

This is the first time we ordered from China City. It took 2 hrs to deliver from the time we ordered, we only live 5mins away. When I contacted them, was told there was no driver due to traffic but driver had no idea about the traffic. I asked for money back after 2hrs but that request simply disappeared on the app and the food was delivered. But when the food arrived it was very good! So I’ll probably order again but not if there are people waiting to eat so I might try collecting.

Over 1.5 hours later still not arrived

Food was delivered earlier than expected. Foot was hot and delicious! Delivery driver was respectful and quiet as it was late so kudos to him. Thank you. Will be ordering again 😀

The best Chinese food in London that I have tried so far, I was faithful to ChiGarden in New Addington for years but I moved and I no longer wanted to go there, luckily a friend recommended me here, the rice is spectacular, the beef chow main is exquisite, I live 3 minutes away and they always take a while, but always very hot, please do not spend money on any of the ribs, I gave them a second chance and nothing, they are just bones without meat, for the rest very good, they should give away the red sauce like in other Chinese restaurants

Very rude lady that takes order I’ve just asked for black been sauce to be added in the portion but she very rudely said NO I cannot put it inside only on the side but she spoke very rudely and aggressive I don’t recommend this place

I've ordered from them first time tonight after my friend recommendation. Firstly I phoned them to make sure that they won't put any meat except for chicken in my Singapore noodles and any vegetables in my fussy daughter dish:) and they did really amazing, food was so tasty and a big yes for customer service:) my new place for Chinese takeout

The food is absolutely disgusting, the prawns tasted super off and am worried I am to get food poisoning. They use way too much paste in all the food. All the stiryfry just taste like frozen meat with sweet and sour sauce poured over it. I would not recommend, the lady over the phone was adamant that this is the way the food should taste and refused to acknowledge what was wrong with the food. We didn’t end up eat and ordered with someone else. If I could I wouldn’t even give one star.

I do not normally bother with reviews but on this occasion I felt compelled to leave some feedback! My order arrived in time and the food was hot and without doubt the best Chinese I have ever had! The soup starter, which is a first for me, was simply superb! My only complaint was that there was so much of it but I am sure I can have another go at it tomorrow!

I have ordered from China City on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. Delivery is always on time or early (mostly early) and the quality of the food is fab. Always hot and the meat quality is excellent compared to other places. Tasty dishes and standards are consistent. Excellent Chinese takeaway!

Good food, but very late delivery

Really, really nice set dinner for 3. Good value, plenty of variety, and was delivered within 20 minutes on a Saturday night! The Szechuan chicken was a great mix of sweet and fiery. One criticism, the deep fried seaweed was far too sweet, even for my kids.

The food was the best Chinese I’ve tasted in a very long time. The taste was phenomenal and the food was packaged well so there were no spillages. The only critique was the delivery time as it took 1 hour to arrive which I believe is their standard delivery window. I also had to reheat the food as it was not hot despite not being far from the shop. I can only put this down to the fact that the delivery time is 1 hour.

The best Chinese and Thai we have ever had in south London! Always fresh and tasty. Food taste amazing you can tell they cook everything fresh , prawns done to perfection not overcooked, as a seafood lover I absolutely enjoy my Thai red and green curry, always full of flavour .

Delivery was bang on time. Generally everything was over seasoned though - far too salty. Orders from here as our usual choice (Royal Dragon) was unavailable. With less salt/MSG this would have been great

Food was good but we ordered a beef in black bean sauce and got a friend chilli beef. Didn’t bother phoning to complain because the rest of the food would have turned cold before we got the right dish.

Ordered two soups, chips and vegetables. Wonton soup was fine. Chicken noodle soup wasn’t great. The chicken looked like it had been reheated and didn’t look safe to eat. The chips arrived barely edible - it tasted like they’d been recooked or reheated. The vegetables were ok but… pretty over cooked and soggy. I was under the weather and really wanted some comfort food, this was a huge (expensive) disappointment.

The food quality was shocking, the mushroom curry was bland as anything and had way too many onions, even the onions didn’t taste of anything. Sauce was oily and extremely runny. King prawns looked very anaemic. The delivery came super early which was a shock & maybe why it didn’t taste nice at all. Has left an nasty aftertaste. Harsh but true

Honestly the best tasting Chinese takeaway in Purley!

Fantastic! Our first time ordering (as our usual Chinese was closed!) and the food was better than expected! Great satay, spring rolls and crispy duck! The rice, noodles, sweet and sour and chicken and black bean were fresh, the vegetables crunchy and great portions! This will definitely become our new Chinese! Genuinely delicious!
