Chengs Oriental Cuisine in Sunderland

Food was undercooked and overcooked. Noodles were burnt black. The king prawns in garlic and butter was not even how they usually would be the batter was undercooked and soggy and the sauce was a thick gooey consistency not at all how it usually is.

I only ordered 3 items chicken chow mein, fried rice and chips they have sent me curry sauce instead of my egg fried rice . The chips were freezing and burnt . I won't be ordering again from Cheins really gone down hill. I've been in touch with Just Eat hopefully they can refund me for rice and chips extremely disappointed 😞...

Ordered food at 8 o clock still waiting at 10 tried ringing the shop no answer then turns up about half 10 freezing cold waist of time and money

absolutely lovely keep it up i thought it had went downhill but if it's back to the way it used to be be ordering all the time

2 hours later no food no answer from the shop I completely understand it's xmas eve but don't take the order if you can't fulfil it

Absolutely love the food never disappoint. Great selection available too! Would highly recommend to any food lover.

Meal freezing cold and 2 hours late

Order quite often, unfortunately the chicken was fully cooked tonight. The rest of the order was nice and delivery was fast

Food was delicious BUT far too many onions and mushrooms, not enough sauce, otherwise a tasty meal.

Food was awful - house special chowmien was tasked all the meat was slimes didn’t dare eat prawns - curry was literally water and tasteless couldn’t even put it on the plate - sweet and sour had no taste prawn cracker were stale soft - will not order again

Food was spot on aways is from Chengs. It was very tasty, hot and plenty of it. Enough to make another meal for tomorrow 😋

Food came in a box that was absolutely drenched and the box fell apart. And got prawn crackers that were stale, when we got home to eat the food the noodles were stone cold and the food in the box wasn’t much warmer.

Wayy too salty, like so salty it burned. the food itself didn't really taste of anything and the gravy was oily and flavourless. Never again.

Salt and pepper chicken is rock solid and so, so dry. Honestly, I would skip this place. So many more better Chinese takeaways.

Usually I order and food is lovely we all enjoy nothing is left and there is 5 of us so large orders orders last night food was delivered early but food was stone cold and dry and most went into the bin hoping this is just a one off

taste was good as usual , food was cold, which I would have let slide if it hadn't been for the fact the prawn crackers were missing off the order....you cant make little bowls of happiness with your rice without them.....bad times 😒

So disappointed chicken chow mein was extremely salty and the chicken didn’t taste nothing like chicken I ended up spitting it out. Won’t be back!

The main was not what I expected I ordered deep fried shredded prawns and it was whole prawns in a sauce and I couldn’t eat it as I did t like it. The quality was good tho delivered on time etc usually the meals are great but a bit mixed up this time

Chunks of chicken were too big, for me personally not appealing, that was the chow mien, however can’t fault the spare ribs, chengs has been around over 30years so maybe a different chef, not as good as it used to be,

JustEat app says we should expect it an hour/an hour and a half later even though we ordered to arrive ASAP. Food came about half an hour after order so mistake is not on business' part. Garlic butter chicken tasted syrupy and sweet with no garlic flavour. Good quantity of food though and nice delivery time.

The food was not up to Standard I'm very I'm very disappointed

Ordered a munch box. £17.50. The box was filled with more than half of Chips. Rice was dry. The spare ribs must have came from a spuggy, small, dry and little meat. Curry was nice. Not worth the money. Definitely won’t recommend

i ordered 7 30, said 8:45-9:05, its 9:45 now, its just come, a note like a txt or call to say its gona be late cos its xmas eve woulda been nice. had to ring 2 times to chase it up.
