Service was fine but the Food was very salty making it inedible. 🤮

Its always hard to place an online order when there are no descriptions of the things your buying, only; “Special Fried Rice” without and description of what it might entail. Regardless of the descriptions we think we know our way around a chinese take away menu so what we ordered was pretty much what we got on delivery. Although we were staying less than 500m away the order took over an hour to be delivered, even though at check out it was indicated as 35-40min. The Special Fried Rice was not special, it had no discernible texture or flavour, the rice felt more steamed than fried and the chicken and other meats literally had no flavour or texture, just pulp. The Sweet and Sour HK style Chicken was tough and flavourless The chicken had the texture of meat that has freezer burn leathery and bone dry. Expensive bin fodder. The redeeming platter was the Szechuan Mixed Veg, tasty, flavoursome, enjoyable. So in a £23.00 meal, £6.00 of it was edible. We wont be ordering again and if we could give it minus stars we would. Utterly dreadful.

Order never delivered. Staff on the phone treating me like a criminal and trying to absolve their responsibility. NEVER order from here

Absolutely disgusting, overcooked rice, soggy prawn toast. Had to throw most of it away, couldn’t eat the rice it was so soggy and over cooked

I have ordered from here two times now, both times I’ve ordered special fried rice and special curry and it’s been best Chinese I’ve had for a long time. Only thing I’d change is that the curry is a bit spicy but other than that spot on.

I would previously have rated them a 4 but at some point in the last few months they seem to have stopped putting garlic in all of their dishes? Weird. Tried a few times thinking it was a mistake but no garlic now every time. Much less flavour. Lacking that pungent garlic zing in everything. Shame.

Rubbish. Took over an hour for delivery and when it came the food was stone cold. DO NOT USE THIS TAKEAWAY.

Great tasting chinese takeaway. Had the mushroom foo yung, crab and sweetcorn soup and crispy wontons. Really enjoyed it.

Usually good. Today nothing was edible. Ribs, prawn toast and satay chicken skewers were overcooked and totally dry. Soup tasted like sea water.

Chav lasses servicing and blame the customer for the wrong order they passed us when they say the names on the receipt clearly the lasses serving are below par and the food was cold and sweaty messed order up and sadly Sue who the order was for is gunna get a opened food as there just gunna hand it back to the right customers.crap food went in the bin never going back and it really is poor food with shocking service. This is a nice takeaway which I use quite regularly good friendly staff when does deliveries or pick up with an excellent variety of Chinese food the only downside is that that it has stopped doing credit card payments only cash which is a bit of a pain

Visited this restaurant at the last minute when i had made a day trip to see a friend who fervently requested that I take them a meal of the Chinese Traditional Food variety..and had to select items that were low calorie and pass on the sauce's as they are not allowed them in special diet that they are on .I used to be stuck in a conundrum with the friend demanding the usual Chinese Traditional Food with sauces and all and his family bullying me and causing if I treated him ...but at this restaurant I was able to provide him with a much lower calorie sugar and fat free variety of what he enjoyed as they are so obliging. Yes a good place to visit all round

Really sorry to give a bad review as we have used Chans in the past and it was ok. But last night the quality of the food was really foul, order was wrong, chicken tasted strange - which is probably why I was chucking up all night. has ruined my birthday and will not be ordering from here again.

Chips hard and re cooked chow main was chopped up as if someone sent it back and got put into our dish! Do Not recommend.. good one to order from is red dragon or Beijing city Not here

We order here all the time but I was shocked and disgusted when my crispy aromatic duck arrived. The cucumber was the same consistency as slime and the spring onion was incredibly dry. It’s obvious they had been made a while ago. Chans why do you think that’s okay?

Ordered around £40 worth of food as we had guests and they ended up delivering the completely wrong order, I called them back and they said they would send my food again I waited ages so I called them again for them to act like it's the first time I called and was given a half assed "sorry" from the chavy call handler. Don't waste your time here.

Told us our order would be here within a hour. after a hour and a half we rang and they said it was still in the shop sat there !! Not happy. they have now told us another 20 minutes until delivery. Worst Chinese we've ever had the displeasure of ordering. One dish was inedible as it smelt and tasted like gone off fish. Took 2 hours to arrive on a Thursday evening. Everything, and I meant everything, was cold. Absolutely vile, the whole lot. We thought we'd try it, but honestly, don't be fooled by the reviews. Truly disgusting food and service. Would have 0 stars if possible.

I moved to sheffield in september, I was sad to leave my regular chinese takeaway yet excited to find a new favourite. I've spent weeks trawling various restaurants, each with their merits but all having negatives. maybe their chow mein was delicious, but their sweet and sour wasn't all that. perhaps their food was amazing but the portion sizes were too small. I found Chan's recently, and have yet to find a fault with their service. a few of my orders have even been earlier than just eat predicted (you love to see it) their portions are the perfect size, delivery drivers are friendly, all the dishes i've ordered have been the tastiest out of all the chinese takeaways i've been to and importantly, their prices are very good in short: this is the best chinese takeaway i've been to in sheffield, and i will miss them during the christmas and summer holidays when i go home from university

Without question this is the worst Chinese takeaway I have ever had the misfortune to order. At first the portions were tiny but at this stage I was unaware that this was the only positive aspect of the delivery. The chilli chips were cold, limp and wet with condensation. The rice was clumped in uncooked balls. The ribs were fat and gristle. The crispy beef was simply inedible. The beef was coated with sweet sauce but beneath the taste was pure burnt oil/fat. Utterly revolting. I wondered whether I had been unlucky but I have just noticed that the business scored 1 on its food hygiene rating. In my experience a well run food premises regards good hygiene as essential and this is reflected in the quality of the product.

The worst Chinese I've had in years. The starter platter was literally swimming in oil, not even in one box, only 2 little bits of prawn toast, an oily sprinkling of seaweed, no wontons, just remnants of. The sweet and sour sauce was like water and the chicken fried rice had very little chicken in it. I also ordered banana fritters but the restaurant called and said they hadn't got any so sent me the tiniest bag of prawn crackers instead...I strongly recommend avoiding this takeaway.... it's horrible.

Food ok. Delivery was frustrating. Ordered via deilveroo. Food ended up 40 mins late but no updates or info. Not the end of the world but it is nice to be informed. If I'd known how long it would take I wouldn't have ordered.

Salt and pepper chips the best IV had. Sweet and sour anything is truly heaven sent. Prawn toast will leave the average human speachless. Nothing from the menu that I have had is bad. Food allways come hot and in good time if ordered. Never leaves you hungry however allways leaves you wanting more due to the sheer pengness of the food. Top Chinese in Sheff.

Have eaten here before with no problems, but they seem to have changed the staff that answer the phones and it has created problems! Ordered two mains/rice/chips for collection in 40 minutes. It was about 7.30pm and was busy when I arrived, there was a lot of confusion on the phones but on confirmation of name/order they gave it to me. When I got home the food wasn't particularly hot and wasn't what I had ordered! It's not a quick journey to go there and back and wait again for the correct food so we ate it, we even had the added bonus of human hair in one of the mains😡! Think I'll try to find another Chinese takeaway in the future!

Good service, tasty food, great takeaway all round. We’ve always collected and not used an app, no idea what the delivery is like (sounds like some people have been disappointed with their experience) but if you don’t mind chatting to the lovely person on the phone and nipping out to Millhouses then 👍🏼

Ordered from Just eat at 18.40 and it turned up at 20.50. Ignored my phone call but answered the missus's. When the food did turn up, it was cold and tasteless. A thoroughly dissappointing experience and we wont be ordering from them again...also woke.up this morning with stomach ache.

Ordered on deliveroo. Order should have arrived but 20.10 it turned up at 21.40. Spoke to take away over the phone three tomes. Each time was told it was on its way. Food was ok but service was horrendous. Will never ever ever order food from there again Apologised but had no reason why it was late. Delivery driver just shrugged his shoulders.

Ordered via justeat. It took 1 hour and 45 minutes to arrive and when it did it was all completely cold. We received a text saying it was on the way 25 minutes before it actually arrived, yet we only live 1 mile away. We rang up and the manager said it was hot when it left them and accused us of lying! They said we can either keep it or they will send the driver back to collect it and refund us. Never been treated so badly by a take away, would definitely never use or recommend to anyone.

Both the main dishes we ordered were incorrect. We order sweet and sour pork but we got sweet and sour chicken. We also ordered a beef curry WITH EXTRA onions and it came with NO onions. We rang as asked for another to be sent but they said we would have to wait for another 40 mins. We then had to choose between getting a refund and not get the food we ordered or wait another 40 mins and get the food we wanted but get no compensation. The manager refused to speak to me on the phone and left the front of house staff deal with it who had no authorisation to help me.

Great food at a great price and super quick delivery. We’ve not tried anything we haven’t liked and my kids especially love the peking crispy duck and pancakes. Sweet and sour chicken is great too the sauce is delicious and not gloopy like some we’ve had. We love the fried rice too.

Please please please stay away from this absolute discrase of a takeaway the food was inedable cold and not even close to a cheap dog food i took one bite and bined it £28 pounds for shocking food not aceptable and over a hour to arrive we temped the chicken it was 49 degrees well below the legal requirements

First time we have both had a Chinese delivery in our new home and honestly, that hit the spot! Fully recommend the salt and pepper tofu!

Well, where to start.. Piece of advice to all- don’t get the ribs, unless you are a fan of chewy ribs slobbered with a ‘barbecue’ sauce which resembled a murky-brown lumpy gravy. It didn’t taste much better either. Normally I don’t judge a foods taste by its appearance but I think it’s safe to say that these ribs tasted as good as they looked-so take that as you will. The chips looked like the sort you would get at school, which from past experiences wouldn’t say were great. They were soggy and cold and by the time they ended up on the plate. However I am aware that Chips is not a speciality of a chinese takeaway but seriously it’s not that hard to cut up a potatoe and fry it?! I’m no Gordon Ramsey- hence why I order my chinese and don’t make it but even I could have made better chips despite my abismal cooking skills. I have quite a religious chinese order and never steer away from my 3 dishes of chicken balls, noodles and curry- but I would say that they are good meals but I wouldn’t trust those three dishes to judge a whole takeaway as a whole. However one thing I have noticed is that the chicken balls are rapidly decreasing in size- seriously they are about the size of a teaspoon. Overall it’s an okay chinese but I wouldn’t start getting adventurous like bear grylls when choosing your dishesbecause you are probably in for a nasty shock.

This Chinese takeaway cooks fresh and decent sized portions every time. They do 3 meals for a tenner on certain days, and these are generally in smaller cartons and are smaller than standard portions. We eat both. Love the food, especially the Singapore noodles, chilli squid, egg goo yung, beef with green peppers in black bean sauce and crispy chilli beef. You also get prawn crackers if spending certain amounts. My only down point is that the meal can contain too much syrupy sauce. It is not needed and things should be a little dryer, but overall still great.

Decided to have a Chinese after Christmas as a treat not had one for months the food came quick it was hot and really really nice I had the sweet and sour chicken balls and they were delicious thanks

Incredibly disappointing!! Lumpy curry sauce, soggy salt & pepper chips and the sweet potato was hard and was doused in oil. Not only were the sweet & sour balls incredibly over-cooked, they hadn't been de-tailed and were dry and greasy. Needless to say less than 30% of the meal was eaten. Never eat here!! Edit* 5 minutes after posting this we now both have stomach ache. 😒

The delivery service is an absolute disgrace, waiting nearly two hours and all they could say is the driver has set off. I could understand if the delivery was to Birmingham- never again

Such a shame, first time food was good, this time it was awful. Dry duck looked and tasted like it was old, weird chicken and flavourless prawn dish. Really disappointed.

Food was eddible but far from sparkling. Out of 10+ dishes ordered non stood out as been a will order again. Spring rolls were particularly bland and tasted like they were the budget variety from a cheap freezer shop.

Absolute shambles. Ordered food at 18:05, said it would be delivered by 19:15, didnt end up coming until 20:15. Me and my boyfriend were greeted by a smiling delivery driver who exclaimed "am I late? Sorry guys" not very sincere.. The food was cold when we eventually got to playing it up, the sweet and sour sauce was cheap tasting and watery, the curry was nothing more than tasteless goo, the beef was chewy and fatty. The only good thing was the seaweed, the chips were cold and squishy. Absolute mess, would never come here again, we rang the takeaway about 15 times asking where our food was and it was as if they recognised our number and didnt pick up on purpose. Not happy.

Gone down the drain .They fill the dishes with red hot chilli peppers which ruined our meal as it was excessively hot.I complained about this and they offered to send out one free dish which we declined.We used to have fresh first class meals from Chans before the new management but now the food isn't fresh and is quite greasy.In our opinion the chillis cover the poor quality of the food.-NJ

I've ordered here loads and it used to be very good but recently the prices have gone up and the food has gone way down hill. The prawn toast used to be lovely and bursting with king prawns. Now it's over fried, the topping doesn't cover the toast at all. It's thin and chewy and this time the bread even tasted rotten. For £3.90 it was a terrible rip off. Avoid. The rest of the food was greasy, way over fried (sweet and sour balls are like rocks). The spring rolls are ok but hardly any filling and again over fried. Tried it twice recently and both times have been very disappointing and very expensive. The other dishes such as black bean and oyster sauce are very watery with hardly any meat and a ton of onions. The noodles are equally terrible. Incredibly oily. I have been here for years and found it good but since the prices went up the food has really gone down hill. I won't be ordering from here again.

They close earlier than they say, at least hey stop serving although they are still lights on and staff chatting .Likewise, the previous negative complaints about quality and speed are accurate from my previous visits

Amazingly slow delivery, I can only assume they were short staffed? We ordered at 20:20, then received an email saying it would be delivered at 21:45 - but then it was finally delivered at 22:10.The chicken in the chicken balls was dry as a desert noon, the batter crispy and stale - I'd bet money they were unsold leftovers heated up from previous nights. The chow Mein was like attending salt festival 2015. The chicken in that bland and chewy as hell. Don't recommend eating here if you've ever eaten edible Chinese food

We ordered from here on a Saturday night through Just Eat, we got an email a few minutes later saying the order was cancelled so I rang Chan's and asked them and English girl answered and told me they have received the order and it was in process so I waited and waited for about an hour and rang to see where it was and the English girl answered and took 10 minutes to tell me it was on its way. So we waited and waited and half an hour later rang again and a Chinese woman answered and she said she couldn't see my order so it must be on its way. She was very apologetic so I hung up and waited. I got a phone call from just eat at 8.45 to tell me Chan's had rang them to say we wanted to proceed with our order and by this time I was very hungry and very tired and very pissed of. Told just eat yes continue with the order and it came within 20 minutes with no apology or anything. Rude customer service and the food was well below average. We won't be ordering from again!!!

We ordered from this takeaway last night. It took two hours to arrive, when it did finally arrive there was hardly no chicken in any of the main dishes and the taste was very bland. We ordered a large rice which has never been large. The customer service skills are terrible. Terrible food, terrible experience. Dont waste your time or money on this place they dont deserve it.

Due to my normal takeaway being closed, I decided on Chan's as an alternative. I was rather disappointed. The Singapore noodles were really mushy and rather tasteless. The mixed starter, which came in plastic boxes, was rather soggy in parts and the ribs were overlooked. I certainly wouldn't use this takeaway again.

Excellent quality at very reasonable prices and delivery to a wide area. Never amazed but never disappointed with the quality - very consistent and very good for the price. My #1 choice when picking up the phone locally for a delivery.

Quite easily the worst food Ive experienced. Burnt horrible greasy mess.Leave well alone and have what the dogs having instead. It WILL be tastier

We ordered a takeaway last night online from Chans. I chose this place because I'd had takeaway from there a few years ago and it was great. We waited an hour and 15 mins before we rang. They apologised and said it would be there in 10 mins. Another half an hour passed so I drove the 5 mins to the shop. They said the food was en route. I said it can't be but they asked us to call home. It wasn't there. They then rang their delivery driver who said it would be quicker for him to bring it back to the shop. When he finally arrived back we said we were worried it was too cold so they checked the food and said the prawn balls were too cold so they had to cook some more. They only charged half price which was a good thing. However, when we got home we found both bags of prawn balls so werent sure which were the ones safe to eat. They staff were friendly enough and apologetic but the food was not good and 2.5 hours is way too long to wait for a takeaway.

We had take away from here which we ordered online, the choice was excellent, prices were reasonable and delivery was quick. The food was excellent and portion sizes generous. Can't fault it. Will be definitely ordering again.
