Having avoided Chan's for almost two years since moving here after listening to other people, we decided to give it a try. I can not fault it. Ordered online and walked down to collect as we don't live far, the food was ready as I walked in. Very generous potion sizes, we ended up having too much food. The prawn crackers are the best I've ever had and one bag contained enough for three people. All of the food was well cooked and the flavours were lovely. I can't believe I left it this long to try but I will certainly be a regular customer there from now on.

Lovely food (apart from chips that were stale) Extremely quick delivery however would be easier if they took card as well as cash. Would bring in a lot more custom I would think.

We had heard good things about chans, it’s not local to us, 15 minute drive. But we decided to give it a go. And needless to say we won’t be ever again! Curry and beef in black bean were watery with no taste and they had multiple bits of meat with grissle! Stale chips and prawn crackers. Waste of money!!

my family loved this, the chicken was perfect and cooked very well and it all tasted delicious, im vegetarian and this served me very well, and the girl on the phone was very well mannered and kind when taking our order.

The girl who served me was incredibly polite seeing as she was quite young. The food was great and they fill the containers up very well. I would recommend the smoked chicken. I would recommend this takeaway!

I have been using CHANS for a number of years and have always enjoyed their food, unfortunately standards have appeared to have slipped in my recent experience. I ordered a delivery service and it arrived half hour later than told, spare ribs were terrible as mostly bone and fat and very chewy, duck in plum sauce was tasty but duck almost raw still, chicken with garlic and spring onion again was ok but the chicken balls were stale and cold, chips again were stale looking and cold, in fact all the dishes were lukewarm, very disappointing and not sure if they have recently changed the chefs or just let things slip. Will be a long while before we try this place again, such a shame as was so good in the past.

We have been using chans for over 10 years. Recently we had hairs in our batter and in the scallops with cashew nuts. We was promised 50%off next order yet gave us £5 off maximum The order was again recieved wrong, rather than the customer is always right, they argued with me and my family on the phone. We have remained loyal to you. But due to the hairs, false promise of resolve and the allergies specified.( allergy to prawns my order contained this and I was spoken to rudely After 10 years plus. Me and my family will be taking our business elsewhere unfortunately

As far as Chinese takeaways go, this one was fine. Ordered online for a later pick up, which worked well. Chow main good, sweet and sour chicken (Hong Kong style) good, beef with pepper and black bean sauce ok but lacked flavour. Will use again.

You're greeted by lovely and friendly staff who know their food inside out and can even help you decide if you're unsure. Large portions of quality food make this a must try Chinese takeaway.

Whenever we order from this takeaway we are always happy. They deliver locally and the food always arrives within the quoted timescales. We really enjoy their sweet and sour chicken with chicken fried rice. Spot on, every time.

We always have our food delivered from here its normality quick and the food is generally hot. We have tried many meals on the menu we have never been disappointed. The food is constantly good and responsibly priced. The menu has symbols printed on it to guide you to how the spicey the meal is.

Got the chicken balls and they gave me food poisoning sick for 2 weeks got diagnosed with campylobacter would not recommend

We stayed on a farm in Gillingham and tucked away was a menu for this Chinese Take Away. It was pretty good, very good really, huge portions - not for the faint hearted, lol. However, one of us ordered the Chinese Chicken Curry and this was very watery for our taste, but was tasty. Everything was cooked quickly and hot of the wok. when we go back to Gillingham would use this chinese again. Thank you.

There are a few Chinese takeaways in the area, and this is the best of the lot. Standard menu as you would expect. Be aware - cash only - nearest ATM is 100 yards further into the village on the other side of the road.

Reasonably priced Chinese takeaway. There are a couple of Chinese takeaway in Gillingham. Chan’s in my preference.

oh my word...do you remember when chinese food was a revelation. well this is it..its back !! sweet & sour pork balls that contain Real chunks of pork...not minced or reconstituted...real tasty pork. I haven't had a chinese like this in a long time...shame they put it in plastic containers the foil ones are so much better....but we ordered 7 dishes & it came to £33 ...fantastic value for so much food......DE-LISH !!

We had a take away delivered. There was a great choice on the menu something for everyone . The food came quickly and was delivered hot. We will be using them again soon.

Good value, tasty lazy dinner. First takeaway from this chinese and really enjoyed it. Everything was hot and tasty, Lady taking order was friendly. Only slight negative was my crispy chilli beef wasn't crispy but i understand this can happen when sealed in a container. Overall very good.

We always order from here as we think this is the best Chinese in Gillingham. They deliver for free. Nice touch to get free spring rolls and prawn crackers if you order enough. Always nice and not greasy

Lovely food and not far for home, helpful that it delivers and easy to use. Me and my family love getting our takeaways from here. Will be using again in the future.

Had takeaway from here 3 times now and always impressed, very very nice food! Had the set meal for 3 which easily fed 4 of us, was just delicious, very enjoyable and staff always nice.

We went to teh shop to order and certainly receoved service with a smile. The food appeared reasonably quickly on a very busy evening. The food itsef is your average Chinese takeout food, not good, not bad.

Chans is definitely our favourite takeaway in town. With free delivery and food always arrives hot and tasty, we would not choose to order from anyone else. Free prawn crackers and mini spring rolls always go down well too!

Got a take away whilst we were on holiday close by. Food was very good and plentiful. Would recommend this take away.

On holiday in Gillingham so gave Chan's a try on our first night. Being a Friday had to wait quite a while for the meal, lots of telephone orders ahead of me. My wife tried a scallops dish as we cannot get this at home. Don't remember what I had, it was that memorable. The meals were reasonable but spoilt by the vast amounts of carrots and onions included. Would only accept cash, somewhat surprising for an establishment with its turnover and in this location. Did not return, the local pizza and fish and chip outlets provided far better value and enoyment.

Been going to chans for two years nearly gave the other one a try and it was only okay.. but chans is a lot better service price everything is good no complaints and great good.

Have been using Chans for years, have tried others but always come back here. Service with a smile and quality food!! Favourites are smoked chicken, chicken and plum sauce, sweet and sour chicken and of course duck and pancakes!!

Rarely eat here as it's the bottom end of High Street but was recommended it by friends. Great menu, home delivery, fresh tasting and didn't wake up in the night feeling thirsty! Definately the best Chinese takeaway in Gillingham and will make it our first choice in the future. Well done!

Tried this place about 3 years ago and wasn`t impressed but thought I would give it another try. Never, ever again. The worst Chinese I have ever had. Looked like something off of Bushtucker trials and was inedible. I would strongly advise anyone who has a good knowledge of Chinese food to stay away. If it is all you have ever known, maybe you like it and that is your choice.

After a long day decorating we decided to have a Chinese. The service was prompt and well cooked. Plenty of fresh crunchy vegetables, generous chunks of chicken and crispy batter on the sweet and sour. The spring rolls were small, crisp and appetising. We'll be returning.

We have been loyal customers for over 12 years now and for good reason. The food is always piping hot and delicious, service is quick and the Chan's and their team are so friendly. Our favourite treat!

Fast delivery times. Quick on the telephone. Salt and pepper spare ribs are very good as is the satay sauce. Friendly delivery driver.

I go to this chinese take away regularly and it never happened before but the fact that I found not one but actually two hairs in my noodles have really put me off to go back. They were quite long as well!! eeekkkkShame really because the people there are always very nice.

Having moved to the area fairly recently, we have yet to try all of the local takeaways.We'd previously ordered from the other Chinese, which was okay. Our neighbour suggested we went to Chan's as in his opinion this was the best Chinese in town.The service was very good and courteous. We found the food to be okay, but we didn't feel it was any better or worse than it's competitor. Perhaps it was the dishes that we ordered but they were quite watery and the taste was a little bland.The meal was reasonably priced.

We were recommended by a friend but thought the take away in sturminster newton to be quite a bit better. The duck and premarket was good but most of the success had a horrid glutinous texture and the dishes were not ask correct when we got them home. Chow Mein was fine but overall thought 3/5 is fair. I personally won't go again as the sturminster option is under new management and considerably better now.

Been here quite a lot, latest time this evening. Food is good and service quick.Never had a bad meal or missing bits from order.Give them a go, mrs chan is lovely, so polite.
