If you want to eat delicious and traditional Italian food, you can choose it. However, since there was only one employee when we went, we waited longer than usual.

Great spot in Aigburth, Liverpool to grab a Cartoccio (tasty pocket of real Italian goodness) but they serve pasta, bruschetta and sell a couple of my fave beers too - Messina (Sicily) and Ichnusa (Sardinia). Check it out.

We visited by chance with my wife and one year old daughter and were very pleasantly surprised. Cartoccio with chicken is the best thing we have tasted in a while. Pasta and gnocchi very tasty, and made from quality ingredients. Desserts in the form of cheesecake and cake are just the icing on the cake. The staff is perfect. Baby friedly environment with chairs and a few toys.

Amazing local family run Italian. Good is utterly delicious and atmosphere even at lunch is buzzing. Highly recommended.

Popped in for lunch and found a really pleasant place nice atmosphere and lovely freshly prepared food. The cartoccios are not large so recommend starters and/or sides as well. Will be back for an evening soon.

Our food was dry, it was supposed to be spinach and ricotta with bechamel, you have to walk through the kitchen, to use the toilet, which was clean, but who wants to eat in a place where people are walking through the kitchen. The one star was for the chair to sit on, for a long wait for our food.

Beautiful authentic italian restaurant with a lovely little deli

Fantastic food, Service and Atmosphere. Such a hidden gem. I went for the first time today with my partner and we loved it. The Cartoccia sandwich was amazing and the vegan chocolate cake was out of this world.

The place is well decorated and is very cozy inside. The staff are nice and welcoming. The food was really good and the tiramisu dessert was delicious. Will definitely come back.

Delicious red wine at a great price. They don’t reserve tables so make sure you get there early to eat otherwise you might be waiting. The bread and meat appetisers were delicious and the ingredients were high quality. I will defo visit again.

My favourite restaurant. Lived in Liverpool for 15 years. Eaten in loads of places. There is some really good food in Liverpool. This is the best I reckon. Specifically, the pasta, but it’s all fantastic. I’ve eaten here many times.

Popped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The staff are really nice, I had a lemoncello spritz, a coke, a tiramisù, and a cacciatori. Everything was all very nice and full of flavour. The atmosphere is rather calm and fits the Italian theming very well with Italian decorations dotted all around. Would definitely recommend for anyone in the area looking for quick Italian street food.

Love this place for a quick takeout lunch, had a chicken cartoccio, if you haven't tried it, do yourself a favour and go, you won't be disappointed! Got a couple of beers too, hence the price range, but the cartoccio on its own is well cheap 👍

Sat in for dinner for 5 people. We ordered focaccia, side salads and olives to share to start. And 3 pesto and 2 pigs cheek pasta for main. Everything was absolutely delicious and tasted very fresh. Nothing to fault. Even a normally fussy 10 year old loved it. Would 100% recommend

Loved dinner at Cartoccio, the venue is warm and welcoming and the food is absolutely delicious - fresh, flavourful dishes served in generous portions with great attention to dietary requirements. Do not miss the pork! Utterly pleased they stock my favourite unfiltered Ichnusa which is a rare gem, try it if you go. Definitely recommend.

Such a gem, I've been twice here this week. The pork with prunes is so good. Relaxed dining, nice beer, and super affordable.

Went today for lunch. Absolutely incredible. Beautiful food. Small menu with Cartoccio being the star. We had 2, one chicken and one Cacciatora meatballs. Both extremely delicious. The Tiramisu and the Hazelnut cake were fab. Deffo worth a visit. Extremely good value. Will be back for evening pasta for sure. 🙌

My partner enquired here for a chef position and was greeted with rudeness, a demeaning manner and the embodiment of aggressiveness. How dare you greet anybody in that manner. It's appalling and unprofessional. Good luck with hiring!

Disgusting the worst domino's pizza I've ever ordered from pizza was freezing

I rave about this place to friends. Best pasta in Lark lane, arguably the best Tiramisu is Liverpool. So great for lunch if you want a filling and warming meal, soups brilliant.

Such a beautiful & delicious menu. The Apollo alla Cacciatora is the best thing I’ve ever tasted.

Absolutely perfect. I’ve been meaning to eat here forever based on a hunch that it would be delicious and down to earth. I wasn’t wrong. I stopped by for a late lunch - ordered the soup of the day - which had depth of flavour, balanced textures, and beautifully cooked. Looking forward to the hand made pasta, wines and desserts on offer. Lovely decor, charming service, cool independent, unpretentious vibe.

Simply WOW. As an Italian, I always stay away from Italian restaurants abroad, but knowing this was an authentic one, I gave it a try. I was blown away by the simplicity and freshness of the ingredients, the tastes and the hospitality of the host and chef. Everything here is fresh and authentic food, you can taste the love the owner puts into every dish she serves. This place is a must try, especially if you are Italian :)

Absolutely delicious and well priced food on our first visit. The pollo cacciatora was bursting with flavour and some of the most succulent chicken I’ve ever had, and the maiale brasato was hearty, deep in flavour, and very filling. We will definitely be visiting again soon

Simple, rustic, honest food. Reasonably priced, delicious bread and fillings. New favourite lunch spot!

Delicious cartoccio, or pockets of Italian bread, with a range of generous hot fillings. Tried pork in red wine, chicken and butternut squash. Finished with their homemade jam tart. All delicious and well spaced out for safety. Perfect for a takeaway lunch. Great addition to the neighbourhood.

We have been two days in a roll for lunch. The Polpette al sugo (meatballs) are so flavorful and the bread is so fresh & delicious. Even tried the lentil soup... very nice. Everything so far is seasoned to perfection. Cant wait to try more menu items. The prices are affordable, it makes you want to keep coming back.

Recently ate lunch here. Delicious food- really lovely dough- and for great value for money. Also appreciated the Covid-secure environment, taking health and hygiene very seriously. Will definitely return in the future.

Since seeing Cartoccio open one lunch I tried to visit in the evening but have later found they are only open Saturday evenings. But after arriving for lunch I we had to try the entire menu (bar the broccoli) and is now my favourite spot for lunch. Staff were very warming and the place was very hygienic. 5 stars and a must try from me!!

Had a lovely bean soup today and I'm certainly coming back for more. Staff was friendly and hygiene was superb.

Walked past on Friday lunch time and popped in..... amazing!! In house bread was sooo good!! Meatballs was personal favourite! Gone back tonight for early dinner! Recommend! Support local too!!
