Mediocre food that wasn't very hot. I was largely ignored by the servers and they have the audacity to add a service charge and ask for a tip! I can't recommend it.

They were very busy with half term families but we were seated and served promptly. Very impressed with the speed considering the numbers. The food and wine were excellent reminiscent of Carluccios when it first appeared on the scene. Nice staff friendly and helpful and Nathanirl did a great job of looking after we old veggies. I come here quite regularly for their breakfast deal. And it’s pretty good. The first time, it was fresh, hot and perfectly cooked. Second time not so, luke warm/almost cold like it had been left too long before served and the bacon wasn’t nicely caramelised. Then the third time it was good again. Consistency is needed. However tried the 2/3 set courses from Mon to Fri and it was good. Very enjoyable, reasonable portions and tasty. God value. It’s a lovely location by South Ken tube and lots of light.

It's a decent place, but not the same as it used to be. The menu is more limited, and it doesn't have the same charm. We enjoyed what we had, but I miss the liver pate and some of the other options that used to be available.

First of all they said they ran out of pizza but it was 1:00 and they didn’t say that until we ready to order. The food took ages to come out. The portions were tiny. The staff weren’t friendly and didn’t make us feel comfortable. Then they added on a 12.5% service charge which is ridiculous. They didn’t even ask if we wanted to split the bill. Not impressed!

The food is good, the service is very good, but pork is available for breakfast, so be careful when choosing. Vegetarian breakfast is nice, I recommend it

We recently visited Carluccio's with family and enjoyed their Christmas menu. The food was delicious and full of flavour – every dish was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. They created a warm and festive atmosphere, making our visit even more special. It was a wonderful experience, and we would happily return. Highly recommend for a family meal!

Definitely not Italian restaurant anymore ..uncomfortable chairs, I didn't like the food .

I was at this restaurant two years ago and the waiter (young small guy with accent) asked me three times why I wanted to have the service charge removed. Ruined the whole meal. We were not treated kindly when we left. I told the waiter to just remove it when I ask and he said 'dont be so condescending'. Two years later I still remember this well.

The main reason I came here (Google reviews) was to provide a comment on the service. Picture the scene. A storm blowing outside. Saturday November 23 lunchtime, South Kensington. Seemingly half the population of London plus tourists have descended on this locale. We, a group of 3, pick Carluccios. In fact, we’re happy to find a brand we love. We arrive and there is already 5 waiting to be seated. We are greeted by the front of house lady and told ten to fifteen minutes wait. We wait and make the best use of the small space as the little bar seating area is already occupied. We do eventually get seated, have a great meal (to name a few dishes. Mushroom soup, bread selection, Calamari, sharing board, beef ragu), but there was one element that really shone that was obvious. The service shone. The attentive front of house. The waitress taking our order without fuss and getting it 100% right. The barman, despite the busy restaurant, glancing across to see if anything else was needed. Only a nod was needed for him to dance across, take my additional order and then the for order to arrive in a timely manner. It struck me that all the restaurant staff were working well as a team that made the difference here.

Very bad experience, initially helped well. After that the food was very disappointing which was a shame. When we wanted to pay, they made us wait 45 minutes even though we asked several times.

The food is really the star here. Not a fan of the layout of this particularly branch as it felt like we were packed in and the service was very slow on the day that we went for lunch even though it wasn't particularly busy. However the service was friendly overall. The food remains the star though, absolutely love the mushroom pasta and arancini.

Excellent service here, good food at reasonable price, the Italian waiter Fabrizio already give us valuable advice, and the manager too, and the Greek waIter..

Lively atmosphere and attentive service all good. Mushroom soup 🍲 was exceptional and recommended by a regular customer on the next table Signature pasta dish photographed was good but not amazing and according to our new friend has had pride of place ever since carluccios opened! She also commented that her ravioli had an excess of sage seasoning We finished with substandard cannoli which tasted as though kept in the fridge for weeks 😬

Had a nice steak cooked perfectly and the service from Claire the waitress was superb capped off a nice afternoon out after taking the family to the natural history museum

The food was good, nice atmosphere for a meal. We had Italian food that tasted authentic and wholesome. We tried mushroom risotto and spinach and ricotta ravioli. The ravioli was better. Good for a meal outside, fairly priced and does the job.

Great food. Had a separate GF menu for my celiac husband. Service was friendly and efficient. Had the best coffee in 4 days being in London. Would definitely go again if we're nearby.

Four of us went for lunch for my sisters birthday, the tables were very squashed together and people were squeezing past us to get through, we were practically back to back with the table behind us. My partner had a lovely caramel latte and the Penne Giardiniera was tasty. Two of us ordered the seafood linguine which was very bland and disappointing. The meals also took an hour to arrive despite questioning the staff on the waiting time, who made us feel like a nuisance. My sister used to love this restaurant but we will not be returning to the South Kensington restaurant in the future.

Weird intrusive service with a lot of pushy exhortations to order things we'd already said we didn't want. Food as reliable as ever.

Unfortunately not a great experience this evening for dinner. Attended with a friend. I ordered the duck confit which came out extremely overcooked to the point the it was not edible. I didn’t want to make a fuss but the waiter noticed I wasn’t eating it and he offered to replace it. My friend finished his meal long before my prawns replacement arrived. They were ok, also over done but at least edible. Was amazed to see nothing complimentary on the bill and the service added in full. Definitely not a £75 meal had here. Disappointing. The manager should have halved the bill if not waived it, given the errors and the fact his guests were unable to have dinner together. Update - following Carluccios response, u sent multiple emails as per their request, all of which were ignored! This false customer service is disappointing and the subsequent negative review highlight that they don’t take customers seriously.

We had breakfast at this carluccios and we were very happy with the food and the whole experience in general. Strongly recommend it.

The food was tasty but the portions seemed really small. I guess the prices were reasonable for rhe centre of London. The waitress did accidently spill all our drinks accross the table and all over my daughter but she apologised and did offer a small discount. Young children get the choice of a 3 course meal for £8.50 which I thought was fab. However, our youngest daughter had the lasagne from that menu and I had the lasagne from the adult menu. I was disappointed to see that the child's portion looked identical to the adult yet the adults price was double and didn't come with anything else, unlike the child's 3 courses. Still, this place found a table for our large group of 7 at the peak of lunch time so we were just happy to find a place that could accommodate us all with no pre booking and the food was tasty enough. It was a busy, lively atmosphere. Our bill was around £140 for one main meal each and 2 drinks so I'm not complaining.

The quality of the food was disappointing. We had tuna tartare, which was very rich, squid rings, which didn't really taste fresh and were in the deep fryer for far too long. For a main course, seafood linguine, the mussels were cold. The pasta was supposed to be served with a crab/chilli sauce, but the pasta was heavily flavored and the dish was not very seasoned. This was compounded by the extreme noise in the restaurant. We remember Carluccio's much better, maybe the chef had a bad day. In any case, we wouldn't come here again.

Great food. The waiter was okay but seemed like she didn't want to be there. Still, the place is a good choice for a meal. I am visiting the place twice a week with co-workers.

I have a regard for Carluccio’s generally and this was the first time we’d been into the South Kensington branch. We ordered focaccia and mixed olives to start, followed by seafood linguine and a vegan version of spaghetti puttanesca. The bread and olives arrived quite quickly and were very good. Two minutes after receiving these the waiter arrived with our main courses. I said that we were still eating our starters so could he take them back, which he did. Five minutes later another waiter brought our main courses back. We were still eating our starters so I asked him to take them away again. By the time we’d finished our starters and asked them to bring our main courses they were really quite dried up, obviously having been kept warm for the duration. The waiters were friendly and efficient but the kitchen really need to get their orders sorted out.

Great Italian food, definitely recommended compared to bad ones like Bella Italia (avoid them).

Great for food for all appetites

I recently ordered a seafood linguine dish that was unfortunately full of mussels containing sea sand or small stones, which made it unpleasant to chew. Even after requesting a new plate, the problem persisted, and I ended up not eating. I just paid for my meal and left, disappointed

Would not recommend. Food-wise, nothing to shout about. The chicken milanese was underseasoned, grilled tomatoes were undercooked and still hard. The focaccia bread had a weird uncooked texture and was drenched in olive oil. Only the mushroom risotto was good. Terrible service. Waiter missed our order and did not apologise when he came 20 mins later to retake the order. While the risotto was good, I was not asked if I wanted parmesan cheese on it, while the table next to us was offered that with the exact same risotto dish. Disappointed.

I ordered scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, mushrooms and Avocado. The Eggs were overcooked. The smoked salmon was cooked in the eggs. Dreadful. This concoction was served on the toast which made the toast mushy. The Avocado had so much chopped onion included that I could not eat it. Scrambled eggs a really simple to get right. Smoked salmon ought not to be cooked with the eggs. A simple serving of avocado without any extra inclusions is so much fresher and delicious. Lastly, serve the toast on the side. Soggy toast is disgusting. Get the basic right.

Came on my own for a quick coffee and croissant. The croissant was hard, and when I kindly asked the waitress whether these were freshly baked and if I could get another one, she replied quite rudely ‘oh they are all the same!” A “sorry,let me give you another one” would have been welcome. Looks like the staff needs some training in handling customers complaints.

The "signature" breakfast was very disappointing, it used to be much better in the past. Mushrooms were insipid, and the bread tasteless. Looked like a bad English breakfast without beans

02/07/2024 Arrived at 15.56 food was served at 16.55. Ordered Seabass and Burger with a Prawn Starter. After a long wait, we were informed that they had just served the last Seabass, so had the option of Tuner and another fish. Reluctantly Tuner was decided. After waiting in a relatively empty restaurant for an absolute age, we managed to get someone's attention, informing them that we've been here for an hour (by this time my family member had grabbed her bag stood up and told me lets go to McDonald's) I was too hungry to find another eatery so i persuaded her to stay. When the food eventually arrived it was the smallest portions we'd ever seen. Tuner came with 3 Broccoli Florets and Salsa. I felt so bad at the sight of the portion I emptied some of my cold fries onto the plate. Well, my Burger was not much bigger than a child's Happy Meal, this was accompanied by a small portion of cold fries and the smallest dollop of Ketchup you've ever seen. On the whole, the food was EXTREMELY BLAND (so McDonald's certainly would have been the better choice in this case) no garlic or spices seem to have been used on either of the dishes. The server went on about how annoying it is when people ask for burgers to be cooked to their specifications, and that burgers are not just Beef, they were mixed with other meats, so goodness only knows what was in-between the 2 buns that I forced down because i was so hungry. Needless to say, we both left quite a bit on our plates. At the door we were ushered out with a pleasant "Thank you, see you again" to which my family member retorted "You definitely won't see me again". I went home and fed my stomach which was desperately craving some food with flavour! Sadly, we forgot to take pictures. What has happened to CARLUCCIO'S...????

It's okay nothing special, nice but boring

I really wanted to love this place specially with the nice service but the food tasted so bad. It was dry and had no flavor we went twice since there was a 50 percent off coupon still absolutely no flavor!

I’ve visited this branch a few times now and the food and service is always spot on! There’s an amazing choice of dishes, so whatever you like there’ll be something for you and the drinks are good too! The food is fresh, really tasty and reasonably priced. The portion sizes are perfect. The tuna abruzzese is particularly good! My local branch closed a few years ago, so I love to pop into the Kensington one whenever I’m in London 😊

Friendly staff, great food, light and airy restaurant despite being on a really busy road.

Initially ordered from the £6 takeaway box. It took a while to be made considering they're only putting pre-made pasta in the boxes, and whilst I sat outside to eat, one of the staff members pressured me and my friend to leave to make space for other customers, even though we were still eating.

We ordered carbonara and pappardelle braised beef ragu. Both came cold, dry and with barely any meat in it. Small portions and didn’t taste good. Very wobbly table, they forgot about our waters. Waitress- tall, nicely dressed lady but complaining about being understaffed and a bit rude. We also ordered aperol spritz that came not very carbonated- with no “bubbles” due to air exposure. We paid £56 with 12% of service charge for poor quality one. They used to be really good- I don’t know what happened to them. I don’t usually post any comments but I’m so disappointed I had to post one. I regret visiting this restaurant- not worth the money unfortunately.

Pasta portions way too small and overpriced. Service average. Left feeling hungry and a bit ripped off.

Lovely location and large windows, unfortunately it took a while for our order to be taken. Waiter forgot to bring our water for a long time until we asked again. My starter never came even though my friends one did, my friend’s burger was dry but my seafood pasta was lovely. On top of this a 12.5% service charge was added even though the experience was not good. I suggest trying other branches first as the one in Portsmouth is much better.

Service food and cost were just right

Overpriced for the quality of the food. Tuna main course was tiny, there was no fries for the burger so roast potatoes were offered as an alternative (only informed just before the food was about to be served so just went with it). Tiramisu was nice. Seated next to the drinks preparation area and the manager was very very unpleasant to some of the staff. We did book a table last minute but got the distinct impression we were not wanted.

There is efficiency and then there is a less than half empty restaurant where the staff whip your plates away at the moment you pop the last mouthful into your mouth. Disappointed really. Why can’t staff allow you to enjoy the food(good enough) and take your time.. not at all busy here .

The food was incredible[except from the egg],the service had all we needed and it was a very cheerful cafe.

Oh dear. Oh dear. Oh dear. The food was shockingly terrible to the point where it was comical. How can you mess up spinach and ricotta ravioli?? The filling was cold and the sage butter had amalgamated into a thick slurry. But the highlight was "the special" - courgette pasta. We stared in horror at this plate of mushy warm courgette surrounded by giant bland penne. Extremely disappointing.
