Great food. The waiter was okay but seemed like she didn't want to be there. Still, the place is a good choice for a meal. I am visiting the place twice a week with co-workers.

I have a regard for Carluccio’s generally and this was the first time we’d been into the South Kensington branch. We ordered focaccia and mixed olives to start, followed by seafood linguine and a vegan version of spaghetti puttanesca. The bread and olives arrived quite quickly and were very good. Two minutes after receiving these the waiter arrived with our main courses. I said that we were still eating our starters so could he take them back, which he did. Five minutes later another waiter brought our main courses back. We were still eating our starters so I asked him to take them away again. By the time we’d finished our starters and asked them to bring our main courses they were really quite dried up, obviously having been kept warm for the duration. The waiters were friendly and efficient but the kitchen really need to get their orders sorted out.

Great for food for all appetites

I recently ordered a seafood linguine dish that was unfortunately full of mussels containing sea sand or small stones, which made it unpleasant to chew. Even after requesting a new plate, the problem persisted, and I ended up not eating. I just paid for my meal and left, disappointed

A nice and popular Italian restaurant very close to South Kensington underground station so convenient for the museums. Varied menu and nicely cooked.

This place is advertised as the best breakfast option in the area but the contrary is true: it’s the worst. Atmosphere of your average factory cafetaria. NO frech juices. Out of granola. NO yoghourt. NO fresh fruit. NO brown bread. Instead some pre-prepared fixed toasts with different spreads. Not at all what I had expected. When we left on our way to the V&A there are much better more cozy places in the neighborhood. So don’t take Carluccio’s…

Would not recommend. Food-wise, nothing to shout about. The chicken milanese was underseasoned, grilled tomatoes were undercooked and still hard. The focaccia bread had a weird uncooked texture and was drenched in olive oil. Only the mushroom risotto was good. Terrible service. Waiter missed our order and did not apologise when he came 20 mins later to retake the order. While the risotto was good, I was not asked if I wanted parmesan cheese on it, while the table next to us was offered that with the exact same risotto dish. Disappointed.

Great food, excellent service and reasonably priced. We also went to brunch here and it was equally great. Authentic Italian food made with first rate ingredients. We even saw a few celebrities having casual evening drinks when we were here. The art and environment in the restaurant were welcoming and warm without being intimidating for families with children. Zippy di fungi was very tasty. Kuldeep is a great person to assist through the menu and was very warm all throughout to ensure a seamless experience.

I ordered scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, mushrooms and Avocado. The Eggs were overcooked. The smoked salmon was cooked in the eggs. Dreadful. This concoction was served on the toast which made the toast mushy. The Avocado had so much chopped onion included that I could not eat it. Scrambled eggs a really simple to get right. Smoked salmon ought not to be cooked with the eggs. A simple serving of avocado without any extra inclusions is so much fresher and delicious. Lastly, serve the toast on the side. Soggy toast is disgusting. Get the basic right.

Came on my own for a quick coffee and croissant. The croissant was hard, and when I kindly asked the waitress whether these were freshly baked and if I could get another one, she replied quite rudely ‘oh they are all the same!” A “sorry,let me give you another one” would have been welcome. Looks like the staff needs some training in handling customers complaints.

The "signature" breakfast was very disappointing, it used to be much better in the past. Mushrooms were insipid, and the bread tasteless. Looked like a bad English breakfast without beans

02/07/2024 Arrived at 15.56 food was served at 16.55. Ordered Seabass and Burger with a Prawn Starter. After a long wait, we were informed that they had just served the last Seabass, so had the option of Tuner and another fish. Reluctantly Tuner was decided. After waiting in a relatively empty restaurant for an absolute age, we managed to get someone's attention, informing them that we've been here for an hour (by this time my family member had grabbed her bag stood up and told me lets go to McDonald's) I was too hungry to find another eatery so i persuaded her to stay. When the food eventually arrived it was the smallest portions we'd ever seen. Tuner came with 3 Broccoli Florets and Salsa. I felt so bad at the sight of the portion I emptied some of my cold fries onto the plate. Well, my Burger was not much bigger than a child's Happy Meal, this was accompanied by a small portion of cold fries and the smallest dollop of Ketchup you've ever seen. On the whole, the food was EXTREMELY BLAND (so McDonald's certainly would have been the better choice in this case) no garlic or spices seem to have been used on either of the dishes. The server went on about how annoying it is when people ask for burgers to be cooked to their specifications, and that burgers are not just Beef, they were mixed with other meats, so goodness only knows what was in-between the 2 buns that I forced down because i was so hungry. Needless to say, we both left quite a bit on our plates. At the door we were ushered out with a pleasant "Thank you, see you again" to which my family member retorted "You definitely won't see me again". I went home and fed my stomach which was desperately craving some food with flavour! Sadly, we forgot to take pictures. What has happened to CARLUCCIO'S...????

It's okay nothing special, nice but boring

I really wanted to love this place specially with the nice service but the food tasted so bad. It was dry and had no flavor we went twice since there was a 50 percent off coupon still absolutely no flavor!

I’ve visited this branch a few times now and the food and service is always spot on! There’s an amazing choice of dishes, so whatever you like there’ll be something for you and the drinks are good too! The food is fresh, really tasty and reasonably priced. The portion sizes are perfect. The tuna abruzzese is particularly good! My local branch closed a few years ago, so I love to pop into the Kensington one whenever I’m in London 😊

Friendly staff, great food, light and airy restaurant despite being on a really busy road.

Initially ordered from the £6 takeaway box. It took a while to be made considering they're only putting pre-made pasta in the boxes, and whilst I sat outside to eat, one of the staff members pressured me and my friend to leave to make space for other customers, even though we were still eating.

Unfortunately not a great experience this evening for dinner. Attended with a friend. I ordered the duck confit which came out extremely overcooked to the point the it was not edible. I didn’t want to make a fuss but the waiter noticed I wasn’t eating it and he offered to replace it. My friend finished his meal long before my prawns replacement arrived. They were ok, also over done but at least edible. Was amazed to see nothing complimentary on the bill and the service added in full. Definitely not a £75 meal had here. Disappointing. The manager should have halved the bill if not waived it, given the errors and the fact his guests were unable to have dinner together.

We ordered carbonara and pappardelle braised beef ragu. Both came cold, dry and with barely any meat in it. Small portions and didn’t taste good. Very wobbly table, they forgot about our waters. Waitress- tall, nicely dressed lady but complaining about being understaffed and a bit rude. We also ordered aperol spritz that came not very carbonated- with no “bubbles” due to air exposure. We paid £56 with 12% of service charge for poor quality one. They used to be really good- I don’t know what happened to them. I don’t usually post any comments but I’m so disappointed I had to post one. I regret visiting this restaurant- not worth the money unfortunately.

Pasta portions way too small and overpriced. Service average. Left feeling hungry and a bit ripped off.

Lovely location and large windows, unfortunately it took a while for our order to be taken. Waiter forgot to bring our water for a long time until we asked again. My starter never came even though my friends one did, my friend’s burger was dry but my seafood pasta was lovely. On top of this a 12.5% service charge was added even though the experience was not good. I suggest trying other branches first as the one in Portsmouth is much better.

Service food and cost were just right

Overpriced for the quality of the food. Tuna main course was tiny, there was no fries for the burger so roast potatoes were offered as an alternative (only informed just before the food was about to be served so just went with it). Tiramisu was nice. Seated next to the drinks preparation area and the manager was very very unpleasant to some of the staff. We did book a table last minute but got the distinct impression we were not wanted.

Usual good experience in Carluccios. Food, service and atmosphere very pleasant although you do have to pick your times as it can get very crowded. Highly recommended.

Reasonable prices and food is great. Confit duck is excellent, melt in my mouth.. Expresso Martini in Tequila is excellent.

There is efficiency and then there is a less than half empty restaurant where the staff whip your plates away at the moment you pop the last mouthful into your mouth. Disappointed really. Why can’t staff allow you to enjoy the food(good enough) and take your time.. not at all busy here .

The food was incredible[except from the egg],the service had all we needed and it was a very cheerful cafe.

Oh dear. Oh dear. Oh dear. The food was shockingly terrible to the point where it was comical. How can you mess up spinach and ricotta ravioli?? The filling was cold and the sage butter had amalgamated into a thick slurry. But the highlight was "the special" - courgette pasta. We stared in horror at this plate of mushy warm courgette surrounded by giant bland penne. Extremely disappointing.

Went for an anniversary dinner here with my girlfriend. Waste of money. Food was OK i guess, not enough vegetarian options. Service was horrendous. Getting weird looks from every single member of staff since sitting down. Initially thought it might be because we look young and ordered cocktails but we had our IDs out as they bought them and they didn't ask to see them. Waitress was rude and blunt. Also horribly overpriced. Added a 12.5% service charge and didn't give us a chance to change it. Took a horribly overpriced dinner and made it outrageous. Just make pasta at home next time.

Poor food unfortunately. I had a burger and it was dry and not really nice. Not really at the standard expected for such a large chain.

Breakfast brunch here on a late Saturday morning.

It was an enjoyable meal after our long museum visits. The menu has classic Italian flavors and the price performance is quite good. Especially the kids menu is filling and has plenty of options. I must also mention the friendly service.

Visited, before going to the office. Was served by Natalia, and she explained about the gluten-free menu, which I need. Lovely girl, always happy to help, with great knowledge of gluten-free options. Highly recommend it and will return myself soon.

Natalia as always has been a grate person to communicate, she gives a grate service. I think you are lucky to have her in your branch. Her sense of humor is very refreshing.

Celebrated my husband’s 30th birthday with a big group back in March. The whole thing was a surprise and the team here were brilliant - we pre-ordered food and they were really speedy with email communication and confirming they had all they needed. On the day they were very welcoming and attentive - Evan was our main waiter and he was brilliant. They were very kind and also gifted my husband a drink in lieu of dessert. Thank you again! Organising a big group can be stressful but I would highly recommend this place.

Yesterday I went for lunch to Carluccios. My experience was outstanding. A lovely lady at the door "Vicky" was super attentive of us. She walked us to our table and gave us conversation, she made us laugh big time. She also came a couple of times to check we were enjoying everything. Our waitress was great, sorry I didn't catch your name. Food was nice and atmosphere very charming. When ordering I let our waitress know about a food allergy and the manager in charge "Beckim" took care of everything, he was really nice and genuine. I'm definitely going back soon. The shop is near the station, open morning - evening. Clean shop, comfortable seating, impressive service. The food is delicious. It's an impressive breakfast. Can be very busy 12.30 to 2.00pm. Decent food and service despite the busy time.

Came for a work meeting and a coffee - decent coffee and good location but the waitress who came to our table so we could pay our bill made absolutely unacceptable homophobic comments (completely unprompted) on the state of the world and how "values are going out the window" as now "even gay people can marry". Avoid at all costs and please train your staff to be respectful of others.

Overall, I was quite pleased with the quality and portion sizes of the food, which were both exceptional. However, I must mention that the service provided was satisfactory but not outstanding. There were moments when attention seemed a bit lacking, and some aspects of the service could have been improved upon. Additionally, I noticed that the ambiance of the restaurant appeared somewhat dated. While this didn’t greatly affect my enjoyment of the meal, I believe updating the decor could enhance the overall dining experience.

Booked The Fork offer on Sunday, 17th March and staff avoided honouring the deal. The blond manageress gave us an a la carte menu despite being told we had The Fork offer. Our waiter said the side orders were not included despite showing him the offer screenshot. The manager knew the situation but avoided us. In the end they honoured the offered but made us feel very uncomfortable. We felt intimidated by dishonest business practices trying to make more money from us. The food was average but acceptable. The branch needs a full revamp, it desperately needs love and care. A very tired dining room with hospital-like toilets and indifferent staff.

A fine establishment. Attentive and friendly service. A truly pleasurable visit. Specials are exactly that...

Poor service and terrible food. We were served uncooked dry risotto that had to be returned. My child's food was served 15 minutes after the rest of the table. The three burgers were burnt and the manager gave an excuse that they had to be cooked this way and a replacement would be exactly the same. The service was slow and other parts of the meal were missed. Manager was helpful and apologetic.

Never disappointed with my visits to Carluccio's. Very comfortable seating and great choice of food, quick service and smiling staff. Three of us had the lasagne which was delicious and one the risotto, which looked really tasty. Relaxing after our trip to the V & A which is about a 7 minute walk away. Tube station is opposite or plenty of taxis. We all really enjoyed ourselves.

Managed to fit us in without a reservation (2 people) when there was only a short window open for us to get lunch. Food was excellent, service very quick and efficient and worth waiting for. Have visited before and had an equally good experience and wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

We came here to have breakfast on a freezing cold morning. Obviously the female staff in charge was not happy with having to have to work today, as she couldn't be bothered to welcome her customers in a friendly manner. Anyway, we ordered the toasted Pannetone , eggs royale and cappuccino. The drinks were served immediately, but unfortunately not at a temperature we expected it to be. Especially on a freezing cold day you are craving for a hot drink, but not a slightly warm cappuccino. When our food arrived we were stunned by the small size of the portions compared to the price; also we got eggs Benedict instead of eggs royale. Ham was very poor quality, Lidl or Aldi sell better quality. Also, our table was sticky and not clean on arrival, even though the place had just opened. So obviously it has not been properly cleaned the night before. There are much better places to go for breakfast in the area where you get much better value for your money. Not recommended.

Second visit, second good meal - recommended!

I ordered pancakes with pancetta. After an hour of waiting, I was told the pancakes come pre prepared and are just warmed through. An Italian deli restaurant that doesn’t make pancakes from scratch or hold any pancetta? agreed to have the fruit version - a measly portion of fruit, I got 1 strawberry and the yoghurt was dry and crumbly in the middle. They offered to change my order but I was fed up of waiting by then. I didn’t use the bathrooms as my friend was disgusted after using them.

Terrible service. Me and the wife came in for lunch with our two young children. The starters flew out, my eldests starter was carrot and cucumber sticks which looked like they'd been sat on the side all day, no humus dip or similar either. The mains took an age to come out, if we hadn't chased it up more than once I think we'd still be sat waiting now. My wife asked one waitress who said "just one moment" then never came back. The mains were only one burger, 2 kids chicken burgers and a pasta dish, food they should have on the go all the time. People who sat down well after us were getting served before us. In summary rubbish service for average food.

Great service on a quieter Monday evening. Our server was a superb young man, attentive to our every need and extremely polite and helpful. I think the chefs might have been bored, because our mains tasted like it had been sitting out for a minute before it was served. Overall, extremely good value and great service.

Felt a bit ripped off at £25 for a small bowl of pasta £16) and a soft drink that came out of a bottle (£7!), and then 12.5% service added on top when the bill came. The food was nice but really small portion. It was a busy lunchtime and the staff seemed a bit too rushed to give good service. I had a table for 1 in the middle of the aisle by the door which didn't make for a great dining atmosphere as people/staff were walking right past my table all the time. For the price I'd go somewhere different next time.

First visit for some time, not many restaurants left these days. Enjoyable pasta, sea food in a chilli/ crab sauce. 🦀

I don't often come down to London, but we came with friends to see a show and had reserved tables at Carluccio's. Staff were attentive and friendly. Food available was fantastic and reasonably priced. The Milanese Chicken breast I had was delicious and so were the fries. Time between being shown our tables and the arrival of the food was pretty quick.

Stopped in for a quick lunch before sightseeing in the area. Delicious food and great service...the mushroom soup hit the spot on a cool, damp day.

This chain of restaurants is one of the better ones. We’ve been to more than five different ones and like all things they do differ from one another. Met up with friends for weekend brunch. It was busy and service was on the slow side, just as well we had lots of chat to fill the time. Food was good, just one dish was cold, but the waitress sorted it out. Spent more on the amazing take away deli dishes, mmmmmm.

We have eaten here many times over the past 10+ years and had always rated the restaurant as very good. This time we were in early for dinner, though it filled up very quickly, but there was no welcome, just shown to a table with no grace or pleasantness. We both chose the same chicken dish, starters and affogato. The starters were fine, hot and served quickly, but we both felt that the chicken wasn’t quite right, but it was hard to say why other than a strange taste. When our affogatos arrived the ice cream was melted and just a pool of cream, very unpleasant and we were not able to pour our espressos over it. We couldn’t attract attention since the server was so busy trying to cope with the large number of guests. I went to the toilet and the gents was disgusting - a sticky floor, toilet seat hanging off, flush not working and all fittings worn and shabby. Even the area outside of the toilets was crowded with furniture, grubby and uncared for. When we came to pay we had to ask our server several times for our bill since he was having to look after far too many tables to pay attention to all. From being a favourite, we would not return since that evening we both had upset stomach. : However, this restaurant is not alone since we were in the Chichester branch of Carluccios before Christmas and that was even worse with several items off the menu, and we were only one of two tables.

It’s an ok restaurant but we were mugged on the way out for a watch, the police inform us this restaurant is a target as it refuses to put in CCTV.

Visited on a Sunday lunchtime and the restaurant was very busy. Initial service was good but took a long time for us to get the bill and pay at the end. Food was of average quality but servers had good knowledge of allergens and provided a gluten free menu for my friend. Would recommend booking in advance if you're able to.

The heating had broken down on probably the coldest day of the year. Staff miserable and food tepid. Not so much as a free coffee offered. We love Carluccios in Wimbledon but this branch is seriously underwhelming.
