Visited for a family meal and thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Excellent food and excellent service . Always enjoy visiting Carlo’s .

The service was very very slow. They had very young people serving which would of been OK had they been trained and had someone overseeing sadly that was not the case. Had to keep asking for things that should of been provided. The food was poor. Lacked flavour and either under or over cooked.

Had the gluten free bolognese pizza tonight and it was absolutely delicious, an authentic Italian pizza that didn’t taste like a gluten free pizza. Any of the pasta or pizzas could be gluten free so huge choice. My sister had cannelloni and said it was also delicious.

What a lovely, genuine Italian restaurant. A real treasure of a place. The interior decor really leads you to believe you are actually in Italy. Such a fabulous design. The pleasant, welcoming staff have excellent service skills, and you can tell they are a great workforce. Leading now onto the food... Not a single disappointing word to say. Everything was delicious, cooked to perfection, and we devoured it all! I can not recommend this Carlos Italian enough! We will be back. Keep up the marvellous job.

i have recently visited carlos in colne after finding out the rude old lady had left, i hadn’t visited since because when she was working here she coughed all over my food and was very demanding when taking my food order. i am very delighted that this awful old lady has left and carlos will now be mine and my family’s weekly trip out.

Brilliant Italian food. I highly recommend this place I always go here when I visit my family up north. Great family environment. Very friendly service.

Had my first experience this evening in Carlos and was not disappointed. Emma our waitress was so polite and provided us with the specials menu 2 course for £15 the portions were huge and there was a huge choice. Emma kept up topped up with drinks and chat. Great food and exceptional service will be coming again

Came in for a meal last night due to it being a special occasion (Sun 25th October), we had a few faults when coming for our meal at Carlos however our overall experience was great. We were approached by a rude redhead teen at the beginning asking for our drink order who didn’t really seemed pleased to be at our table, we looked past this as it was the first time we had come to Carlos. We had to ask her several times for a drink order instead of being approached and offered a drink, her reaction to this was quite utterly rude as she pulled faces at us - we had noticed this happening with several other tables within our area. After taking our order she didn’t come back with our drinks however we were approached by a lovely young teen lad, he was very polite and made us feel welcome at carlos, he chatted to us and made us laugh for several minutes and he definitely redeemed the faults that had happened previously. The rest of the staff was also very welcoming and regularly asked if we were ok or needed anything else. I would definitely order the steak if you’re coming for a meal at carlos, I can honestly say it’s the best steak I’ve ever had, not to mention that the desserts looked incredible and tasted delicious too! We will definitely be back here at carlos due to the price and how delicious it was. It was a shame there was a few faults previously however the restaurant managed to redeem themselves!

Went this evening for dinner had two courses and drinks. It was absolutely beautiful I highly recommend. Staff were lovely specially Emma and Enzo!

We have graced Carlos a few times over our years In Colne and before we moved to Colne , ...we have had a good & not so good experience in the past ....but something pulls us back to this Italian...I think it is the ambiance and the feel of being on holiday as I love the place! The food tonight was in my opinion excellent as usual, the waitress was very attentive and friendly as usual, the wine I ordered was excellent my hubby’s was in his words average! Will we be back? .....of course we will !!!

daughter had paid for bottle of prosecco . It was on our table none of the staff came and opened it. My starter was king prawn in chilli & garlic it was £9.99 consisted of 3 prawns with bit of salad. Also ordered garlic pizza with cheese. it was undercooked and 2 inch all the way round the pizza no filling. All 4 of us ordered peppered fillet steak which I might add was very tasty but should be at nearly £30.00. I ordered mine well done. It came and was pink so asked the waiter to return to kitchen and be cooked more. Carlo came over with the waiter and gave me my plate back. He informed me that they do not like to cook the steak well done and prefer to cook it medium to well so it is moist. I told him I did not like my meat pink. Cut into it in the middle and sure enough it was really pink so it was returned back to the kitchen. My main arguement is if I am paying nearly £30.00 I want my steak cooking how I want it not how they want it and think its a cheek to try and tell you otherwise. We left after paying £251.00 .

Slow service, asked for food order before drinks. Wrong orders came and some starters had to wait for when other people has nearly finished their food. No serviettes - had to ask for nearly everything twice. Bill incorrect, took about 20 minutes to sort it out.Think may give it a miss for a little while seems to busy with either not enough staff or not enough experienced staff.

5 Star evening. A busy time in Carlos but everything was exceptional delicious food and excellent service. We will be back thank you.

We went carlos on Wednesday 26th,was very busy, but we was still given a choice of which table we wanted, which not many restaurants do. We visit regular and always have a nice meal there.excellent food. Couldn't fault one thing, all staff very helpful. The restaurant is under new management. The manager himself is a gentleman who was very welcoming and friendly. Mixed reviews on TripAdvisor but I would advise don't listen to the bad reviews,try it yourself.You won't be disappointed.Carlos restaurant is best one in the area

Eat Out To Help Out ! Well some people try and do good to help out in this case the government to help keep restaurants open. What do carlos do?INCREASE ALL THEIR PRICES!Having eaten here regulary before lockdown I was very familiar with the prices and deals of carlos. On inspecting the menu and seeing the ridiculous prices I asked the "manager" who by the way was so unprofessional it was actually unbelievable (come back marizzio and simone please)! why the prices had all been increased.He rather rudely said they hadn't and asked when was the last time I had been in.I explained before lockdown and that the pate (which is 4 croutons and a small pot of pate) had never been £8I told him I had never seen a pizza on the menu for £14He then said ok well we have a deal 3 courses for £16.95 (only certain items available) I explained this was the same deal they have had on for years only it was £12.95 before the eat out help out scheme!I find it scandalous, infact I cant find the correct word for it. I'm apauled by their morals. All new menus have been printed especially for the eat out help out times. Everything has jumped in price. You actually pay more for your meal now than you did pre lockdown without the £20 off.The meal its self.Our PRE STARTER garlic and tomato bread came with the starters! I said i wished for this to arrive first before the starters and was simply told "i know" as she walked off.We then had to call her back and explain the garlic bread was missing the tomato element, to which she finally agreed after checking through a stack of order notes ( I dont know why we couldnt just be believed)?My ribs which had increased in price were actually COLD, these were exchanged. The main course pizza was fine however the chips, well we counted 8 chips. After mentioning this to our new waiter he came back and said sorry the chefs said they didnt know how many chips they needed for other tables hence such the low potion! really ?Our deserts, we ordered two and received three! On paying we actually paid for all 3 deserts but mentioned to the cocky "manager" we only ordered 2 deserts but paid for 3 and he simply said you ordered 3. I asked him why would two of us order 3 deserts? He simply said you must have done.This then proceeded to an open discussion where he seemed comfortable slouched on his settee (in the middle of the bar) with both "chefs" watching from close range, numerous staff at the side of him and a full host of waiters/waitress' crowded around.In the past marizzio (spelling incorrect) and simone would have simply made sure it was a private talk and dealt with it professionaly. This clown has such a chip on his shoulder. I was booked in for my birthday meal but I am afraid we won't be going.Disgusting morales from a local restaurant and even more disgusting customer service from a very very cocky young "manager" from the now defunct Zios ( I do wonder why zios is closed if this guy had anything to do with them"I am also going to complain to trading standards about the restaurants morales

Myself and my husband came here for our 1 year Wedding anniversary having never been before. Our table was booked for 8.30. There was hand sanitizer at the door but that’s as far as it goes for being Covid friendly. The place was rammed and it was Wednesday obviously people taking advantage of the eat out to help out offer. Our table was already set up with a random packet of breadsticks left on the table. The tables were not at a safe distance and as I say not Covid friendly, it felt uncomfortable with the amount of people there at one time. My husband is a chef and I have been a restaurant supervisor previously with a background in hospitality, given the guidance from the government the first thing that hit me was seeing knives and forks at our table and later through the night seeing tables being set up. This is not meant to happen under the current guidelines. Cutlery should be brought while the customer is sat there so anyone could have touched our cutlery before we arrived. Staff had visors on like a baseball cap or some didn’t have one on at all. The menus were not disposable as set out by the government and there was bits of food stuck on the dessert menu(which we had to ask for 3 times) It was loud and crowded and we had to shout to talk to each other. The service wasn’t completely up to scratch Although the food arrived quite rapidly The service didn’t completely match it. The food itself wasn’t bad and was enjoyable apart from the 2.99 chocolate milkshake which didn’t look like the picture and was just plain chocolate milk with some cream added. My husband got this and said he has coffee the same size and doesn’t understand why they made that part look deceiving. Asking for menus or our change from the bill was like asking the wall to give us these things.Overall not massively impressed, perhaps if the restaurant actually followed the guidelines and not ram everyone in at the same time then the staff might be able to have their arses catch up to the rest of their body. Having worked in these environments myself this is poor management skills and the staff are run off their feet. It’s pure greed from the management with not a care in the world for their customers safety or their staffs safety.

They cook steaks to perfection. Ordered garlic pizza to start and shared. Then ordered a fillet steak (it was huge and perfectly cooked), ribeye steak again perfectly cooked, halibut in a lovely sauce, all with sides of chips and veg, childrens spag bol, childrens ice cream and the MOST AMAZING BISCOFF CHEESECAKE. All this plus 2 pots of tea, a small red wine, a diet coke AND an orange and lemonade. Grand total of £50!!! Amazing value for eat out to help out. Yes they didnt have their usual cheap menu on but come on, that’s exceptional value for money. Plus they have lost a lot of trade over the past few months so need to make up for it somehow! Loses a star because yes its not 5 star customer service but weve not had a problem. No complaints here. The food is better than ever!

meal its self was OK, very expensive, but the management was awful we tried to explain the cream was sour that we had poured on our son birthday cake, which he said we was lying , very unprofessional and very rude, he did not apologise and made us feel very uncomfortable, and the restaurant was very very busy no social distancing with party's ov 10+,

We ate here on a Wednesday on the government eat out scheme. The place was packed and very noisy. Two of us ordered pasta and 2 ordered the £15 special pizza which was very dry and lacking topping. I would have been very disappointed if I had ordered that. At £15 it was a total rip off and the house wine at £20 per litre was awful, watered down and wishy washy. Won't be going again as there are much better take aways in the vacinity.

Of late, Carlos has really upped its game! I (greedily) had a three course meal and all dishes were delicious. The garlic mushroom starter was piping hot, creamy, full of garlic and very well seasoned. The lasagna I have always been obsessed with - it never disappoints. Don’t usually order dessert but I couldn’t resist the cheesecake. I had intended to share but it was just too delicious. I ate it all 5* evening. Fab food. Good service. Attentive staff. Keep it up

Food has got better but the service is the same poor quality it has always been. Ordered a vodka and lemonade and got a vodka and coke, ordered another one and got dry martini, third time lucky? Don't be daft. 20 minutes later still no drinks. Would you like to see the desert menu? Yes please, unlucky not bringing that either. Should have probably asked for the bill before we ate, might have got it in decent time then I had to ask3 different people over 25 minutes.

Recently, we went out for a meal to Carlo's after a long time, and we were not dissapointed. With great, tasy food and kind and attentive service, i definately will be back. I could not fault anything. Highly recommend trying.

We took a trip to carlos last night (31/07/2020) and I can say that our first experience here was definitely enough for us to come back again soon! I had ordered the fillet steak and it was cooked to perfection - the food looked and tasted amazing, the rest of our table were very satisfied with what they had ordered too. The staff was very polite and nice to us, in particular the teenage boy who looked after our table and served us most of the night as he made sure we were happy and felt welcomed, he was very friendly and made us laugh... he made our experience at Carlos that much better! The desserts we received were also amazing especially the presentation. The COVID-19 restrictions had also been followed as all staff were wearing visors and trying to keep their distance from others as much as possible, we had also been given a COVID-19 card that we had to fill out - this make us feel a lot more safe. Would 10/10 recommend, we will be back soon.

First meal out after lock down as in Lancashire, and Carlo's was a favourite back in the day when lived in the area. The food was as good as I remember, maybe better, BUT.. we were met by a maitre d' wearing no PPE at all, and shown to a table that was a few feet away from the next, but nowhere near a "safe " distance. The staff were mostly wearing visors when we got there, but by the main course, they had been disguarded by several staff. The waiter who took our payment had been to the table twice with a visor, but when asked about the fact he was not wearing one when we paid, just replied "its hot, I will put it on later"... not impressed, and gald we had to leave contact details, just in case

Found it very bad that the manager was speaking to the staff like something off the bottom of his shoe. Name calling, allows all the other staff do all the work and stands there. The food was amazing cannot fault the chefs for the outstanding and the deserts were amazing. When we got the deserts menus they came on a chalk board which was very difficult to follow. Would love to give more stars for the food and the service form the waiters but the management let it down

Our first visit was on a weekday and we took advantage of the early bird prices. Although the restaurant was very quiet it still retained the atmosphere of a typical Italian eating establishement. I had spare ribs as a starter and these were excellent with a lovely sauce. The seafood pasta was good but needed more seasoning for my taste. Service was very good once we were directed to a table but we nearly didn't stay for a meal as there was nobody front of house to welcome us and we had to hang around for quite a while before anybody noticed

Haven’t been here for over 15 years and always had a good meal. It hasn’t changed there were 6 of us and everyone loved the food. The atmosphere was lovely with a man playing a piano and the place was packed and the staff were very attentive even though they had a lot of tables to serve. We will be back.

Food always good just seem to rush you as soon as your starter has been cleared your mains are there 10mins would be nice in between courses. When your wine arrives it should not be just plonked at the side of the table how about pouring a little for the customer to try.

Last week on Saturday, my family and I were trying to enjoy our meal however all we could hear was the English manager in the back yelling at his employees, being overpowering and sarcastic (who the majority looked like they were trying very hard). We waited at the door for 4-5 minutes before we were seated in the bar, the manager was trying to act friendly when standing at the entrance, but this was quite intimidating – he was stood in the middle of the restaurant shouting us to come in. A lot of things were missing on our bill but this wasn’t much of a problem as we understood that it was busy and mistakes were easily made, we then asked one of the blonde waitresses whether it was possible to put the missing items on the bill however she seemed confused with what she was doing, both young blonde waitresses also looked to be lazy as it was busy and were just stood beside our table talking to eachother whilst trying to enjoy our family meal however this issue was resolved quickly as we asked another member of staff. Some of the staff looked unmotivated after the manager yelled for no reason whatsoever except a few people such as a young lad who asked us for desserts and chatted to us, a young waitress with dark hair and also a lovely tall gentleman who served us all night making sure we were ok, the older lady with dark hair was also very welcoming and tried to seat us as soon as possible - they made our experience a little bit better. The food was absolutely beautiful, and the regular/main chef was very welcoming and pleased as we went to go and compliment his food and say hello. Will not attend again unless the management gets sorted out, this is such a shame as the food was stunning and the few members of staff mentioned were very friendly and welcoming.

Ate here for the first time in a few years and was impressed. I had the ham carbonara and it was delicious. Pleasant staff as well.

The food was terrible we sent the prawn starter back because they were over cooked and like rubber so the brought the next lot out more or less raw. Sent them back and refused any more food, paid for the wine and left.

I've lived in Colne for over 3 years but this was the first time visiting Carlo's, as the feedback I had received from people was lukewarm, however after the meal we had, we will definitely be returning. We visited on a Monday, which meant we were able to use the special offers which made the food exceptionally good value for money. I took my parents out for and all 3 courses were fantastic, full of flavour, cooked perfectly and brilliantly seasoned. It was surprisingly one of (if not) the best Italian meals we've had and as it is on the doorstep, we will definitely be returning. From the experience we had on this visit, I would definitely recommend Carlo's!

Tried this restaurant on New Year’s Eve and was extremely disappointed.I shared 2 starters with my sister prawns & calamari- only got 4 prawns for £8.99 and they were over cooked - calamari was definitely made from frozen £8.50Main was salmon tagliatelle- salmon (£10.95) definitely wasn’t fresh and had a really funny taste! My sister had seabass (£18.50) and was sick when we returned home.When I took my son to the loo he was hot my a waiter turning round with plates in his hands and was told “WATCH” rudely by the waiter! When the bill arrived there were extra things on the bill that we didn’t have - when I told the staff they thought I was lying .... again rather rudely!I hate to write this review but feel that others should know of my experience of poor quality over priced food.

Tried this restaurant for the 1st time on a Friday night between xmas and new year and was very pleased we did. Food was outstanding and staff amazing able to fit us in at such short notice. Would absolutely recommend and will definitely be visiting again if we're in the area.

We visited Carlos on Friday night having had our previous venue encountering a problem with the kitchen. The staff were new and not well trained and the front of house not good. The food was excellent but the bar and restaurant staff need training, the lager wasn’t up to scratch and not cold enough, and the gin not expertly dispensed. Will return and hope it’s back to normal, having been going for years.

This was our first time at this restaurant. Our daughter said it was really friendly but no one acknowledged us when we went in and we waited ages at the bar for a drink.

Hadn't been for a while. Won't be hurrying back. The food was very mediocre, overly salted and suspect microwaved as parts were warm and other bits cold. The worse thing was finding a hair in a desert! We called the Manager over to speak with him about this. He asked the waiter to bring another! No apology at all. We didn't want another dessert just a good standard of hygiene. The bill didn't reflect the returned dessert but when mentioned again he knocked the cost off the bill. Waiter service was erratic. One couldn't remember a four drink order. A total of four people served out table so we did not have any continuity. Did we tip, no we didn't. Sorry Carlos but my happy memories of this establishment have just disappeared in a pool of melted ice cream, plus a hair!

Visited early Friday evening and despite booking we had to wait 40 minutes to be seated so clearly overbooked. This isn't the first time this has happened. We had to ask 3 times to order drinks then one waiter started taking our drinks order and then half way through said he'd send someone else to take the drinks order! The restaurant wasn't packed out but they squeezed 11 of us around the tiniest of tabels. Place setting were even across the gaps in the tabels so you ended up elbow to elbow with a table leg between your legs! Waiting staff seemed totally fed up and annoyed to be working. on a plus note, the food was very good so well done the kitchen staff.

Excellent 3 course meal and great service for a friend's birthday I can highly recommend Carlos restaurant for ant celebration.

Went with a large group for a birthday 🎂 they were very good with all of us from 14 to 70+ nothing was to much trouble all the food was good honest Italian

The food was good (better than last time we were there) I had seafood spaghetti which was very tasty and plenty of seafood, my only complaint is that I wasn’t asked if I wanted any Parmesan. I tried to get the attention of the waiter but he seemed as if he hadn’t seen me. I appreciate it was busy. It won’t stop us going.

Went here tonight for a "quiet" birthday meal for a friend (didn't tell them it was his birthday to avoid the celebratory happy birthday song... Every time the song rang out for another table, and it did like 4 times, his face drained. Different story. xD )

I couldn't pick fault with this restaurant at all, even during the festival week when it was packed. Food was delivered quickly, it was really tasty and the staff were fab too. Very, very impressed.

Six of us dropped in on spec on Sunday night of Colne music festival. They did well considering the Main Street was heaving with thousands of revellers. I’m surprised they could fit us in but they did. They were pushed but staff did well considering the pressure. We waited a bit for food but it was worth waiting for; tasty and good value.

Second time in Carlo's. Not disappointed. Food was excellent and reasonably priced too. We shall be going again

We have been going to Carlos for the last 30 years as a family ,now are children have grown up and have children of there own ,who still go to eat here ,we have celebrated Christmas birthdays christenings etc ,it was my birthday yesterday and as usual we all set of to carlo's ,as a family unit .

A friendly atmosphere, with good honest food. The pizzas and pasta are well cooked, with lots of flavour. Try the lemon sorbet to lightly end your filling meal. The wine is reasonably priced. Avoid the steaks though, that's not an Italian speciality

We booked in as a large group, service was pretty good but the food was not what I would expect from such an established business. The pasta dish was lacking any flavour until parmesan was added. The chicken in the dish appeared to be a pre prepared type. One of the pizzas was burnt on the base. Expect a lot better from my previous visits to this restaurant.

Visited as part of a large group on a Sunday teatime in May 2019 for a birthday meal. Location chosen by the person whose birthday it was. I haven't been to Carlo's for maybe 2-3 years.

This place is ok for a quick bite to eat at reasonable prices. The service can be really slow at times but the atmosphere is good.

Booked a table for Saturday evening not been to Carlos for a very long time don’t know why as we are only in Burnley.The restaurant was very busy lots of families in too so quite noisy.Shown to our table by the owner Carlo.Our drinks order was taken straight away,we ordered our starters of chicken wings in the absolutely divine bbq sauce these were really good,now despite there being lots of staff waiting on our empty dishes were sat there along time before they were collected so I moved them over to one end of our table,they were eventually collected,then just alittle wait for our main courses,my pizza was delicious,my husband and my son had the lasagna which was good with a garlic pizza bread which was delicious,no one came to ask if we wanted desserts until we were ready to ask for the bill,which wasn’t good really as a said they had lots of staff on but didn’t want to wait any longer so we just got the bill,the only other negative was that no one at all asked if everything was ok with meals not during or after our meal.Would go again but might go book alittle later as it seemed to quieten down then. Lovely inside I’d forgotten what it looked like.

We both ate off the 2 course menu for £12.95 which we felt was good value. The staff were great and the pizza tasty. Restaurant was pretty busy. Would easily go again. Beer was cheap.

We came here on Saturday tea time and were seated straight away even though we hadn't booked. We had very attentive staff who were all really lovely . We have visited before and will be coming again. Nothing too much trouble. We both had a starter from the special menu and were not disappointed, It was presented amazing and the plate was huge. (The picture was just mine) . Our mains were really good aswell but neither could finish them as we were both too full. The place was really clean. It was filling up as we left so its quiet popular. Definitely will be back.

Nothing special it just average food, service was slow,i ordered simple spagetti bolognese,pasta was dry and sauce was tasteless wont be rushing back anytime soon !

I love Carlo's, and yes I've been going here for over 30 years. Celebrated New Years, Christmas and the World Cup. Great staff, service and food. Will continue to visit for many years to come. Get involved.

For a thursday night in Colne, this was fairly busy. Nicely greeted and shown to a table, then my order taken without any delay. Very good food and service, and some good offers re the menu.

First time here and I have to say it’s a very well decorated Italian restaurant, feels very authentic and I believe the owners are Italian too.

Went on a Tuesday evening, it was moderately busy. Service was good, prompt and helpful. We both had a midweek special, which was good value at £12.95 for two courses. Food was good quality and portion sizes good.

Last night we had the £12.95, 2 course special. The spare ribs had a great rich sauce, tender meat. Prawn cocktail was lovely. Each of us had pizza - The Mafioso and Fungi, which were very nice. Staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The place was full of couples, families, groups all enjoying good Italian food. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Love a traditional Italian as there are so many chains out there now - its nice to find one that still has the check table cloths and real Italian staff. We dined on a Saturday evening and the place was extremely busy. We were soon seated and orders taken. The staff did seem a little rushed but the service was still good and the servers polite and friendly. We ordered a bottle of wine which was given to the table next to us, some mix up with table numbers, but that was quickly rectified. The food was good and we thought reasonably priced. The busy-ness of the place added to the atmosphere.

We didnt book and entering the restuarant is was very busy. we got some drinks and where shown to a table about 15mins later. All our food was very good although we have to wait a while for some drinks and then the bill. Overall it was very good food as usual.

Family birthday party for 10 aduts and children, held in lovely charismatic restaurant with italian scenes on the walls. We visited here early evening on a Saturday. It is always very busy at weekends but is a lovely place with a great Italian atmosphere. They have a pianist playing in the background on Fridays and Saturdays who is occasionally interrupted by a happy birthday message to someone having a birthday meal. The food is lovely and if a quieter, more relaxed meal is required then obviously during the week is the best time to visit.

Very busy the place was full of children and families, I should have known better than book for a Friday at 7:00. We were ushered into the bar area until our table was readied, which wasn’t too long and they took our order whilst we waited.

I'm not keen on Italian food but it was a friend's birthday. I found an option to have and it was really good. Would recommend

Well I have never been as disappointed as I was on our family visit on Christmas Day. The food was cold, the starters were to a shocking standard. We had to ask for coffee and never even saw a mince pie. Turkey was fatty, veg cone ten minutes after main was served. The staff looked run off their feet. Very saddened as it wasn’t cheap. We won’t be back !!!

Joined my family last minute for tea at 5pm. We asked the manager if we could extend the table for 4 to 6. The manager was very rude and rolled his eyes before running off to his desk. I didn't think this would be an issue considering the place was almost empty. We managed to be seated but not without prior warning we had to leave by 7. Before we even sat down staff were walking out complaining of said manager. Chicken tasted a bit funny but overall the food was okay. The manager was leaning over people, squeezing between folk to get to plates and snatching. Not like it used to be.

First time & last time will visit this place - upon arrival we got our drinks and sat waiting for our table. We could not fault the service. As soon as we where seated our starters came out, which mine was ok but my partners was lukewarm if that. The mains on the other hand where a different matter. I had the calzone and to say it was overcooked was an understatement! It was burnt! I actually can't believe they served it in the first place?(see picture) It tasted bland and was not very good at all. Then i had to take a visit to the mens room. The 2 urinals that where there where out of order with the smallest of signs, no pipe going into wall with just buckets underneath them full of urine. Its things like this that should be attended to and fixed as its a health and safety matter. Its such a shame as the place itself is nicely presented.

Have been to Carlos many times! Each time has never disappointed.

A very large Italian restaurant with great atmosphere and extensive menu. The only problem is the food can be very good one week to average on other occasions.

We had a big table booked on 17th Nov’ busy Saturday night. Our Father and all his 33 guest really enjoyed the night . Thanks To Carlo’s great team of friendly assertive staff. Excellent service to say the restaurant was so busy.....you all made a real effort for Dad’s 90th birthday with an extensive menu that everyone really enjoyed .

Arrived to eat at 8.00. Seated promptly whereupon waiter brought our drinks and slammed them on the table. White wine was warm so had to ask for ice. pizza starter arrived and was okay hence the one star. Main courses - vegetables arrived before main course and sat going cold. Out of five main courses, four were well underseasoned and bland and chicken poor quality. The fifth was in pepper sauce! Then it started. Stacks of chairs being pushed around the table, tables being moved about around us. waiters shouting across our table to each other about cloths and cutlery. This was at about 8,45 and went on for the rest of the evening. A waiter stopped by our table with piles of things in his arms and asked if we would like dessert menu, we said yes - he forgot! Had to ask another passing waitress. Ordered coffee and they came back to say no decaff!! Really? In this day and age and 'standard' of restaurant. I can not have caffeine for health reasons so had to do without. As long standing friends we only meet up every few months and this one was a disaster. It was not relaxing, had no ambience and was like eating in the middle of Pickfords warehouse. Extremely disappointed and will not be returning. This is a shame as wen I lived in Colne we went regularly. Carlo, get grip on your staff, they are letting you down.

Enjoyed a family meal on an early Saturday evening to celebrate mine and my son’s birthday. The decor is traditional Italian terrace - it’s made to look like you’re sitting outside. It’s quite atmospheric but probably a bit dated.

I used to go to Carlos as a child with my family and I thought it was the best place ever with delicious food so I was excited to go back after over 10 years. The decor had not changed one bit but the food definitely has, it is no where near as good as I remember. The base of the pizza was very floury leaving a dry taste in your mouth but the toppings are still very nice. It wasn’t particularly busy but it took us a while to get seated. We ordered coffees after our meal and received the bill with no coffee. When we finally got our coffees and finished them we asked for the bill. Multiple times. The staff are friendly but service is very poor.

Came here years ago and it was awful then! Thought we’d give it another try, and if anything, it’s got even worse! Absolute waste of money! The calamari was literally from the supermarket Iceland! It was terrible and very rubbery! The pasta was poor, service was absolutely useless! Seriously, do not waste your money! So many better places to eat in Colne! It was so poor that I didn’t even take any pictures

Waited over an hour for sub par quality food

Having frequented Carlos several times over the years, this is the worst experience I've had at this restaurant. Very slow service and very bland good. It's such a shame. But won't be returning in a hurry

Love coming here usually, but tonight service was super fast service which I don’t normally mind but we wanted to chill and we literally sat down and the starter arrived and then as soon as we finished the starter the main courses arrived straight after, and both courses were so bland.We was in and out within half an hour, disappointed won’t be returning in a hurry.

Visited recently. Restaurant in need of a makeover. Paint job is awful and horrible fake flowers. I actually like the roof style decor inside but it's just a dust trap. Service was excellent. Drinks seem reasonably priced but the food just wasn't up to much. I had ribs starter which were ok. But lasagne main was terrible. Was maybe 8 layers of pasta with no meat or sauce inbetween. floating on all the sauce. Flavour just wasn't right. Also had a garlic pizza along with a few others on the table and it was white and undercooked. Others were happy with their choices of pizza and pasta. Mediocre at best. I'd return but wouldn't shout about it.

Having enjoyed a fantastic day/evening at Blues Fest in Colne 26/8/18 ,dined at Carlos restaurant. Table booked and seated promptly. Not impressed, table not laid properly,had to keep asking for knives, glasses etc. Food btw was very good, Having eaten, paid at the bar and sat at table besides the bar waiting for taxi. A barmaid approaching us with tray full of drinks tipped the tray spilling a full pint of beer all over my friend.The barmaid half heartedly apologised and left. "Could.we have some help here please ?" we cried. The barmaid arrived with 4 towels, threw them to the floor and wiped the floor, leaving my friend with beer dripping from her top and trousers.My friend said this was not good enough and eventually was offered a towel to dry herself. When asked for her bill to be refunded,the manager/owner arrived and said "No chance, it was an accident". We protested but to no avail.They offered to pay for her brand new outfit to be dry cleaned. I appreciate that accidents happen but it was the managements' response to ' the accident ' that stinks. Just a free bottle of wine or some small gesture as a goodwill voucher would have been appreciated.Shame on you Carlos!! Never will we go there again.

We had booked at table earlier in the day and when we got there we did not have long to wait to be seated. However, they were too busy and we had to ask for everything. The service was very slow and non existent. We asked for a dessert menu it never arrived. The food we had was nice but we won't return.

Had a lovely meal at Carlos sunday. We opted for the 2 courses for £12.95 and thought it very good value.Starters were mixed fried fish which was huge and delicious and garlic mushrooms for my veggie daughter who said they were lovely and creamy. I had seafood spaghetti which was enormous and delicious, the others had spicy spaghetti arabiatta and chicken in brandy sauce which was an extra £3.50. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely go back soon.

Visited last night. We shared a garlic pizza which was lovely. I had canneloni which came piping hot. Was lovely. Service was good. Kids meal large portion.

Went here tonight and was so impressed. We arrived and were greeted quickly and made to feel very comfortable. The staff were amazing at every point and went the extra mile to make our dining experience amazing.

Wanting something quick to eat on a early Friday evening in Colne, we wondered where to go. Then my son remembered the 2BR advert. So Carlo's it was, we got the Set menu for 2 courses, service excellent, prices excellent, speed excellent, overall excellent.

Came with the family for my daughter in laws birthday , pre booked and arranged the restaurant to sing happy birthday ect via 3 emails on site and 2 x phone contacts.

Party of 6 on the evening of England vs Belgium in the World Cup. Restaurant quiet, as you might expect, but plenty of staff to give us a warm welcome. After being seated at the bar and ordering drinks, it went down hill slightly when the staff were far too busy watching the football to take our order. However, after this hiccup, the food was fantastic (including the two courses for £12.95 menu, with a free glass of Prosecco for ladies) and some normal menu items. The chicken mafioso (£14.95) being perhaps one of the best Italian dishes I’ve even had. Great choice of wines and beers. We had to chase down a member of staff to pay our bill, so as mentioned earlier they do need to watch the details, but with Italian music playing in the background to complete the atmosphere, we had a great evening. Would definitely return.

I would definitely recommend Carlos if you fancy an Italian meal. This was my first visit and I would definitely return as it is now my favourite Italian. It is a very authentic looking restaurant. It has a good choice of Italian wines and food at reasonable prices. I had the most enjoyable pizza I have had outside Italy. Nice atmosphere. Friendly, courteous staff. Definitely recommend a visit.

We have visited here a number of times. The service was as always very quick even though it was busy. We had booked a table though. The calzone was brilliant as was the pasta dishes we ordered. We will most definitely return again.

We booked for a meal before we went next door to the Muni and despite arriving before the restaurant officially opens we were welcomed in to the bar area until the waiting staff were ready for us. Turns out that Carlo's is a regular with patrons of the theatre. Despite the fact that there were several large birthday parties during early service the staff were attentive without being obtrusive. Also, given the number of meals that the kitchen staff were having to provide for these parties the "couples" that were dining at the same time as us were all served in a timely manner.

Me and my girlfriend decided to call in at carlos tonight for some tea hoping they would have a table as we hadnt booked, on arrival we were told it would be 10 - 30 minutes.
