Capital Cafe in Merton

Seeking somewhere for a light lunch we came upon Capital Cafe by chance. After a friendly greeting we chose a table in the bright, clean interior, but there was also seating in a courtyard at the rear. The menu was surprisingly varied, but big on breakfasts. Between us we had three sandwiches and a hot meal, and all were wholly satisfying and enjoyable. For four of us the bill came to less than £25 including drinks, so we were well pleased with the value.

There is something for everyone here at reasonable prices. Used to go with the wife & kids on a regular basis. They loved the banana milk shakes. The boys always had burger & chips and I normally went for the curry chips & rice.My wife used to go for the mixed grill or fish & chips. The portions are generous and the cafe is clean. Have not been there recently, but will keep coming back to it over time.

Good for a coffee and snack, but also do cooked meals and hearty breakfasts. This small cafe is clean and the staff friendly.

I have been coming to this café for about the last 18 months on a fairly regular basis (once a week). Without exception, the food has been tasty and filling. The staff are very friendly and take a genuine interest in all their customers, hence a large number of regulars whose favourite dishes are known to the staff as soon as they walk in !!! This café and particularly the staff serve this community with pride, professionalism and kindness. A fine place to relax in a calming atmosphere.
